The bag is really big, I can fit all 6 of my college textbooks plus a weeks worth of clothes. This bag is definitely durable and stylish. The only thing I wasn't too fond of was the fact that the straps really aren't that adjustable. Once the buckle meets the stud, it doesn't go up any higher. Also, the bag smells like pleather and it really string scent. Other than that, great bag!

I really like it and it really can fit a lot of stuff in it but there is just a really really bad odor that I can't get rid of! It's not a pleasant smell and I've tried Lysol and Febreze and airing it out but nothing seems to work. I just don't want to go to school with this smell following me and for others to suffer the scent. Also when I first got it I realized that my long hair kept getting stuck in the back of the studs and I actually had to sew on a black piece of thick fabric onto the straps to cover the problematic part up.

Otherwise, I really like it! Except for the smell.

I have a little guy that LOVES to tie things together. He takes the laces from his shoes and ties them to the charging cord from his DS then loops it around his toy helicopter you get the idea. He's ruined TONS of drawstring backpacks that he really needs to hold his swimsuit and towel for swim class at his elementary school. This backpack is PERFECT! It has padded, adjustable shoulder straps, not 'strings' so he cant untie them and pull them out of the loops and start playing! It folds down to practically nothing just like a regular drawstring backpack, so it takes up VERY little room and adds almost no weight to his already jam packed school backpack. it's easy for him to carry. it has LOADS of room and zippered pockets and a webbed elastic pocket. Targus 17" Rolling Travel Laptop Case

Details:

I bought this particular bag because it had the biggest dimensions. I'm taking 4 college classes and three of them are back to back without time to go back to my car in between. This bag is big enough to fit all of my things.

In the main pocket I regularly put 3 spiral notebooks (about 3/4" each), 3 textbooks (3/4"-1.5"), 3 smaller books (1" total), and 4 folders (1" total). It still has room for either my wallet (a monster thing at about 3"x4"x6") or another 1" textbook.

The computer pocket is well-padded. It easily fits my 17" laptop. It has a padded divider that velcros in place to set the horizontal width. Even with my laptop being so large, the space remaining between the padded strip and the edge of the case is the perfect size for the power adapter cord. There is sufficient room in that middle pocket to put a folder when I wanted to.

The front area has pockets and loops for pens and whatnots. The loops for holding pencils or pens are too loose to be helpful but they are the perfect size for regular sized highlighters. The pockets are very deep in that front pouch which is good for holding larger things like headphones or a decent sized calculator. I have my headphones in one and the other I filled up with small things. It has a long, removable, zippered pouch that fits in the front pocket that appears to be for a spare battery but I carry my pens, pencils, and other small office supplies in it.

As far as handling goes, it surpassed my expectations. The handle is long enough that it doesn't trip me from behind as I walk. It turns accurately. I can push it if I want (like to back up or to get out of a crowded elevator). The placement of the rear wheels allows it to handle smooth, bumpy, and uneven surfaces. It handled gravel, leaves, ice, and a thin layer of snow. (We haven't had anything deeper than that yet.)

Best of all, it can go up steps. The small step to our porch is no problem, regular sized steps on campus are fine going up. The step into my house has a little overhang so I need to push the bag out with my foot as I pull it through but that's the only step I've ever had problems with. I can take them down as well but I don't want to slam my laptop around any more than necessary. The handle is plenty padded for lifting it up and walking down the stairs. (It has a shoulder strap too but I've never used it.)

The only problem I've had with it, and I was hard-pressed to come up with one, is that it isn't weighted in such a way that if the back pocket is empty and the front pocket has stuff in it, it will tip forward when set on the ground. This is so easy to fix or to tolerate if I have stacked it weird, that it hardly qualifies as a problem.

I am so glad I got this bag! I hope it holds up to wear and tear. I suspect it will as it seems very durable and strong.

This case is extremely universal and has room for all the little extras you need to carry with your laptop for total connectivity. Whether you are carrying papers, or cables or even a small projector, this case has room. Yet you can still carry it on your shoulder. Works great for getting a laptop, files and a short trips' clothes in one convenient package. I usually carry alot of paperwork/files to go with my laptop and this case has some serious room. It is heavy and coupled with a 17" laptop is very heavy but the wheels work fine and the shoulder strap works good as well. Nice low key look that does not attract attention screeming, "hey there's a laptop in here, steal me!"

This was bought to replace a very expensive LowePro backpack that had massive zipper failure because of being overloaded. The new Targus case is not even remotely close to being full with the same amount of gear. It still looks empty as a matter of fact. Decided to go back to Targus after the Lowepro because of a very positive experience with a Targus laptop backpack with a 15" computer. Seems most of my gear failures are b/c of overpacking and the zippers busting so this case should aleviate that problem!!!

The mediocre rating scared me but the 2 1-star ratings were one instance of a damaged product (understandable)and the other was from someone claiming the laptop would not fit but evidently did not realize there is an adjustable petition in the laptop compartment! I measured the dimensions that targus spec'd and they are accurate. I measured the reviewers dimensions and the laptop would fit easily in this case as my 17" dell is much larger and fits; once the velcro partition is adjusted.

This is a good bag for a large laptop/notebook. I bought it for my Dell Alienware m17x, which is a huge, heavy laptop computer.

Pros:

-KEY FEATURE FOR ME. I did not want to "advertise" the presence of my m17x, so I shunned all of the "Dell" or "Alienware" bags/packs. The Targus bag is non-descriptive, and looks like any other rolling briefcase. Sure it probably has a laptop, but probably a crappy corporate hand-me-down. :)

-It fits the Dell Alienware m17x well.

-It has many good specialty pockets and pouches for all your stuff. There is a large compartment for files or even clothes.

-The telescoping handles are sturdy, and the wheels roll smooth and soft like roller-blade wheels.

Cons:

-The computer compartment is not padded as well as I would have liked. I am going to get some more padding.

Summary:

-The m17x fits. It looks like a regular bag. The price is right. It is constructed well.

Designer Sleeves Designer Sleeve for 13" MacBook (Peace)

This looked nicer in the picture than in person. You know those cheap looking mousepads where the graphics are kind of cool but the cheap quality makes them look kind of faded? This is what this looks like, only a case. It does the job, zips fine, protects my computer. I'll keep it until I find one that looks nicer.

I love this sleeve. It provides extra protection my laptop, fits much better than standard sleeves, has a pocket for extra stuff associated for the laptop (although stuffing your charger in there makes it look quite bulky. I think the only con is that it streches out a little bit after pulling on the sides of it while pulling it out of my back pack. Not much though so so don't worry it still fits well. I get compliments on it all the time because its so unique and pretty. Well worth the price in my opinon. Its the same standard thinkness of a sleeve you would find at the apple store but with a nicer design.

SwissGear SA1109 Red Laptop Bag fits up to 15.6" Laptops

Just what I was looking for. Ordered two one for my daughter and one for me. Plenty of room. I was concerned if it would hold my 17 inch laptop. NO Problem! Fits with room to spare. Plenty of pockets, even a hidden pocket on the back. Light weight but seems sturdy. Limited 5 year warr. to boot!

It has a sunglass holder on one strap and a cell phone pouch on the other. There is a place for your MP3 player, two water bottle holders on the side and a handle on top.

Over all I think it was a great buy for under $45 but not worth the retail price of $120.

Kind of concerned...."SwissGear" Made in China (minus one star)! But then try to find items that are not now a days. I just expected SwissGear was made in you know where!

Update....

Just made a trip via commercial airline. Quickly packed this item. I was more than surprized that not only did I fit my 17" laptop, ipod, sunglasses, textbook, garmin GPS but also...my 15" work laptop with power cords. Believe it or not there was still room for more. The funny part is that the backpack did not look from the outside that it contained anywhere near that ammount of stuff. I could have added a couple of bottles of water but due to airport regulations you only are allowed a few ounces of liquids.

Bought this to hold first aid supplies for Boy Scout camp outs. Does a fine job and easy to see. There is even a pocket on the back of the pack near the lumbar area. Smooth zippers that don' catch is always nice.

Lenovo Backpack for 15-Inch Laptops (57Y6457)

cheap and good been almost a year now..

works great no tears, just a little wear from being smacked around a bit

I've had this backpack for about 3 months since mid-June and while it was nice and comfortable, I realized I couldn't fit a lot of items into this bag. My daily commute to the office doesn't require much but at the time I wanted to get an inexpensive laptop backpack since I only had a Timbuktu messenger bag which I thought was starting to get heavy even after alternating time on each shoulder.

There's a slim compartment for a 15" laptop which fits fine and includes a little more room for a book or two (I wouldn't recommend keeping textbooks here). The next smaller compartment contains a holding area for pens and room for a few other little things like a CD-player (really showing my age now), camera, etc. The front-most zipper compartment is about a foot long, just enough for probably storing non-conventional sized documents (e.g. passports and pamphlets). The side pouches are too small for water bottles (although a 12oz can of soda is fine) so I just end up putting my keys into them. You can probably put your camera or snack bars in the pouch as well. There's a mesh lined compartment on the outside of the pouch but I haven't been able to figure out what would be suitable for storing here.

To conclude this review, I wouldn't consider this backup heavy-duty because the right shoulder strap has shown some visible tear; probably due to stress of weight. I got this backup at a deal of $17 shipped so I can't really complain for what I put it through.

I got the bag for > $20 from Lenovo with one of their coupons. The bag quality seems to be good. There is the main compartment for the laptop and possibly a book or a few folders. The secondary compartment can fit a 2" binder and a text book. The third compartment isn't terribly big. Just same space to miscellaneous things.

Unfortunately, for me, the book bag is way too small. I suspect, for travel, this backpack would work great. However, avoid the bag if you are a student. The bag would work well for one, maybe two courses depending on the size of the books/binders.

I'll probably use the bag for my summer classes and the days I only have one class. However, on days where I have 3 classes, I'll have use a carrying case for the laptop.

Short: Bag appears to be good quality. Small in size. Probably not good for Students / people with many books/binders.

positives: The backpack has comfortable straps and big side pockets.

negatives: It doesn't form well to the shape of your back; it sticks out in a weird way and is a bit uncomfortable unless you have a lot of stuff packed in it. It is definitely not water proof. It lets in excess moisture (or the fabric just gets wet and that transfers onto your stuff in it). Even in snow, I had several textbooks get damaged and wrinkled because the backpack was wet.

I purchased this pack based on some reviews on other sites. I was suprised to find out how small this was, how hard the zippers were to open and close and how narrow the top opening really is. This will not work for a carry-on travel backpack....guess I'll have to keep looking.

This is a really good pack, and an excellent value as well. First, the raised and channeled pads on the back helps with ventillation as well as comfort. The cinch or compression straps make the back very low profile when not carrying a lot of stuff. There is also a camel back type holder so the back can be used for trail running. the side pockets can carry water bottles for museum or sightseeing duty. It has an ipod or case and three front pockets to keep things organized. The bag is not very large. I see the uses as a gym or workout bag, light hiking bag if you have to carry stuff for your kids, an ammusement park bag as well or a work bag. Some bags do on thing good like being large enough for a college pack but this pack has many uses and can do them rather well. Also, the pack is made with recycled plastic water bottles. Way to go Mountainsmith for such a great bag!

I've packed up this diaper bag with all things I'll need to bring new baby home from the hospital and everything I needed fit perfectly. I haven't given birth yet but so far I like this bag. At first I thought the fabric was strange, and it does feel weird, but if something gets spilled on it or it gets spit up on it I know I could easily wipe it off unlike other fabrics.

I ordered several bags at the same time not knowing which one I would like and this is the one I decided to keep for the following reasons:

-It can stand up on its own. Which I thought would be important not knowing how many hands I would have available to hold up the bag and dig through it to look for something.

-I have the option to carry over my shoulder or to wear as a backpack.

-Overall neat and clean look. It doesn't have 10 zippered pockets on the outside making me wonder which pocket has what I need.

-While it doesn't have a million pockets, I think its pockets are convenient and easily accessible.

-Lightweight even with all his stuff in it.

-Feels well made and durable. It definitely felt like it would last longer than other bags. The materials and hardware do not feels as though they would rip or fray easily.

Overall I am very happy I decided to keep this bag and feel that it is worth the price.

Incase Terra Collection: Vertical Sleeve 11 - Blue Denim

I bought this case for my new 11-inch Macbook Air. It shipped and was delivered quickly, is made of quality material and fits my Macbook beautifully. However, I was very surprised to discover that the lining is neon hunter orange inside the sleeve and also in the outside pocket. This was not mentioned in the description. It doesn't really matter since it is made so well and I expect it to last longer than the computer itself, but it was quite the bright surprise! Just be aware.

Case Logic UNS-111 11.6-Inch iPad2/iPad/Tablet/Netbook/Mac Book Air Sleeve (Dark Gray)

First I'd say that the case looks pretty much exactly like what is pictured. And guys, while I guess it technically is a floral design on the accent and liner, to me it just looks sort of abstract geometric pattern or maybe like pebbles. One nice feature is rather than just zipping across the top, the zipper actually goes almost around two sides (making an L shape), so its easy to slip your Air in and lay it in the sleeve rather than just drop or slide. The extra zipper on the front opens about 10 inches across and is about 7.25 inches deep, so it is good room to put a power cord and maybe a few other small things.

One thing that I didn't expect, especially after reading the other earlier reviews on here, was is that it doesn't fit the MacBook Air 11.6 inch quite as snug as I anticipated. While it fits snuggly across the width of the computer, there is more than an inch of space to the top zipper. So, depending on how you use it, I suppose the MacBook could shift around a little. However, holding it by the handles, or just putting it in your bag, it seems to mostly stay put. There is a little more padding than just a neoprene sleeve, so I feel pretty good about the case protecting my computer from minor bumps.

After getting my Air back in December, I spent a bit of time looking for a good case that would fit the MacBook Air properly. I've looked in brick and mortar stores, as well as other places online, and this is by far the best I've seen, both by form and for the price.

My wife just got her mac book air and was looking for a case for it and this one meets her specifications exactly:

* Very nicely designed case for the 11 inch mac book air.

* Small enough to fit easily into a backpack but large enough (and has sturdy handles) to carry around on its own.

* Offers a good deal of padding (more padding than I expected, considering that it's so small).

* Subtle, classy design you can't really see it in the Amazon image but there's a bit of a floral pattern running across the front of the case.

An all around good mac book air case and would probably work well with other similarly-sized laptops and netbooks.

This is a great case. Very streamlined, yet it still has a zipper pocket to securely store discs, cords, papers or whatnot.

It is nice to put into a backpack or larger back because, unlike with hardcase covers, it doesn't take up a lot of room with a hard shell. It is snug too which is a good thing for maximum packing ability. The zipper pocket is not obvious, which is great; I feel fine keeping extra cash in this pocket for when we are on a trip and having coffee while checking our email.

The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because the fabric feels a little cheap, not enough to make me not love it, but I wish it felt less like a quilted tablecloth.

This is a nice padded case that I use for my Eee netbook (@ 10.5" wide). The netbook fits nicely with a little extra room for a mouse & the cords. There is a nice large storage pocket in the front of the case, so well hidden that you'd not notice it if it wasn't for the zipper pull tab. The pocket is not gusseted but provides a nice space for a mouse pad or some other thin item.

Some may not like the flower, rocks, or whatever it is design but it's unobtrusive and it's really not feminine or masculine. The fabric is woven polyester that should be durable and is a nice charcoal gray. The nylon zipper is fine; not a heavy duty model but should be fine for most people. The handles are the same polyester fabric as the case & have a stiffener in the inside. I like that they are meant to stay folded down when not in use; it makes it easy to pack this case inside luggage or a briefcase. The handles won't stick up and get in the way. The inside fabric is a lighter gray with the same flower, rock, whatever design in a larger scale.

LeSportsac Voyager Backpack

Love it. I even found out it's very water resistant after first being caught in a raging downpour, then having someone spill a soda on the floor of a bus where I was traveling. Everything inside was perfectly dry. Love it.

SuperME cape backpack

The SuperMe backpack was instant hit at our house for both Mom & child! The backpack appears to be super durable and very well made. I love that all the "extras" for the kids don't interfer with the usefulness of the actual backpack. The buckles have reflectors on them which I think is a nice addition! My son shouldn't have any trouble fitting what he needs for preschool into this backpack. Now on to the important part! My son LOVES this backpack!! With one zip, the cape appears!! I ordered this backpack for my 4 year old superhero, and she just adores it. the cape and mask are so much fun and she loves the neat patches. I like that it is made of sturdy material that cleans up easily. The only negative things I can say are that the buckles are a little hard for her to undo herself which is frustrating for her, and that I wish it was a tad bigger so she could use it for school next year. We bought two of these backpacks, one for our son and one for our nephew. They both love them. My son received the SuperMe backpack for Christmas and it was an instant hit! At 3 1/2, he is in a MAJOR superhero phase right now and I love the idea of feeding his interest without swathing my preschooler in Spiderman branding. He loves the bright colors and couldn't WAIT to show off the cape at school. In fact, his backpack was his first show and tell item. He's also had a lot of fun switching out the badge and put on the Frosty one after a recent blizzard.
