DAKINE Girl's Mission Pack

Don't let the size in the description fool you- This pack will DEFINITELY not support a 17" laptop.

I'll be returning it. Like another reviewer wrote, a 17" laptop will fit in the regular part, but not the padded part, which means no pad protection for the side of the laptop at the bottom of the pack, where you're most likely to drop the pack.

It's a shame, too, because otherwise, it seems like a nice backpack. It's simply not a pack for anything larger than a 15" laptop. It would have saved me a lot of hassle if that were in the description (hassle = 3 stars instead of 4). That said, the pack is obviously of superior quality. I've been researching a little more and know that Dakine's "Jewel" pack is the size I need, and I can even get it in the same design.

If you're looking for something for your 17" laptop, look elsewhere. I'm working on a return now.

The "Jewel" pack, contrary to previous reviews, won't accommodate a 17" laptop, either. If this is what you need, look at a different brand!

My friend has a dakine backpack and it was winter break and i thought that it would be good for this year and next year so i bought it.When i got it i was actually happy that i got this backpack even though the price was a bit high but im dissapointed that theirs "NO" water bottle holder but other than that it a GREAT backpack and it hold alot of weight!!!and especially the "Meadow" is a really great and pretty backpack id reccomend it to a friend!!!!

The backpack is exactly what I was looking for. It has a great design and feel to it. I can fit my books and my laptop in with no problem. My laptop is 17" and while it doesn't fit int he sleeve, it fits in the main compartment with ease this was a big concern I had before buying it. Definitely love this backpack. Can't wait to take it with me across Europe.

I have this bag and love it. I guess they must be slightly different models. I bought it as a gift for someone else and found out that it DOES NOT have the expandable water bottle compartment that the description says it does. I ordered the Tartan color and thought the actual color of the bag is a bit darker than the photo online depicted. At first it was a little hard on the eyes, but I grew to like it after a while.

Otherwise, great bag. Plenty of useful compartments, nice size, supportive and easy on your back.
