The D-rings on the bag and the connector hooks on the strap are made of hard plastic--a cheap, and profoundly annoying alternative to metal. The connector hooks can rotate with the swing of the bag and they squeak with every step. As a pedestrian, this drives me insane. The heavier the bag, the more it squeaks. And because this bag can hold so much, it never stops squeaking. I find myself carrying it by the handle of the shoulder strap to avoid this obnoxious sound. As a pedestrian, I walk everywhere. Sometimes, this bag will squeak for hours on end. I'm going to buy a replacement strap and see if that helps. I'm appalled that Rainpak finds this acceptable and charges so much for such a cheap strap solution.

I snagged this bag as a lightning deal so I paid just $20 for it. All in all, it's worth it at that price point. But I would never pay $50 for it. It's a nice bag--decent stitching, cushioned laptop compartment and a few pockets to hold other things. For my purposes, I wish the main component were a bit bigger. I might actually love it if it didn't drives me so completely crazy with its incessant noise. I'm going to buy a replacement strap for it and see how that goes.

This is my second messenger bag purchase though the first in about 8 years. This one has a nice soft zip pocket on the back (not under the flap) for a computer. Inside, under the flap is a small front zip pocket for the little things, like flash drives. Behind that is an open-top pocket for pens, phone and the like. Then there's the main file pocket, the front and back side of which are pretty well-padded. There are 2 side pockets, one zip and one for a regular plastic-type water bottle. The materials seem well-made overall It's a nice, though basic bag and likely quite durable. No bells and whistles. And it's definitely lightweight. I can't give it 5 stars because I wished it had a couple more zip compartments. And a key clip. Again, a great basic bag.

This bag is exactly what I was looking for! I needed a new bag as I got a new larger laptop. I'm a consultant so my laptop bag is my office, but I still like it to be stylish. My laptop fits perfectly (15.5" Sony Vaio S) in it's own zippered padded compartment, and all the accessories, notepad, pen, wallet, phone, water bottle, etc. fit nicely in the rest of the compartments. It seems to be well made, but as this was my first day using it only time will tell.
