It sits comfortably on my hips the way a good pack should, the straps are wide enough to distribute the load well and you can fit quite a lot in it for its size. Enough for a two day trip, three if you travel lightly like I do. It breathes well and has some nice features. The side and bottom zippers that let you get to things at the bottom of the pack are very nice for example. I have yet to try the rain cover stored in the bottom, but it looks like it will do its job well and covers the pack totally.
All in all, this is a good pack for shorter trips that don't merit the use of a 5000+ cubic inch pack. This is a good pack that I've used for day hikes and once for an overnight trip. The built-in rain cover works well. The only thing I'm not crazy about is that the mesh side pocket can be difficult to get things into, especially if your water bottle (or whatever) is wide.
Edit: It appears the design of the pack has changed slightly from the one I bought, and perhaps the side mesh pocket is different now. Also, this a general problem with all bags, but a large water bladder fully filled really takes up a lot of the space in the bag. So, please keep that in mind during your purchase.
Regardless, I'm still very happy with the bag.I order this pack as a gift for my Husband...I haven't given it to him yet so I am not sure what he thinks of it, but I love it! I looked at a lot of packs before deciding on this one. I love that this has a wire frame that helps the bag hold its shape. The hip belt and shoulder straps are nice and soft. The pack has tons of pockets and supports a hydration system. The colors of this pack are even better in person...much deep and richer!
