I bought this for my husband who is a self proclaimed "tech geek."Its pocket for both a mac book and and iPad are great. It can fit both with a couple books or a few binders. The inside pockets are great but if you are looking for individual pen/pencil pockets, etc. this doesn't have it. The protective case for sunglasses, iPhones, etc. is really nice although the zipper can be a little finicky. Hoping this clears up as it gets broken in a little. The front pocket is deep and is good for odds and ends. The cup holders on both sides go almost all the way up a coffee mug so it stays nice and secure.
The material it is made out of seems to be pretty waterproof. Definitely more waterproof than the canvas material he had before. The only possible concern are the shoulder straps. There is zero padding. So far he says they aren't uncomfortable at all but it is worth noting as that seems unusual for backpacks.
Overall a great bag both functionally and visually.

Works fine for a laptop, a bunch of cables and a few documents. If you want put more stuff in the bag, you shoud buy a big one. For day use, is OK.
