A sleeve should provide at least some degree of cushion or protection. This sleeve is super skinny and provide very little protection. However, it does help to protect the shell of the laptop from scratches etc. but you'll still need to buy a case with some padding to protect the laptop otherwise.

This case was pretty nice quality, but it is not a 16 inch case as it claims. It might be able to fit a 15.6 inch tightly, but I'm not sure. My 16 inch laptop did not fit in it but the case was still nice.

THE SLEEVE WAS VERY NICE, OF EXCELLENT MATERIALS AND CONSTRUCTION BUT IT COULD NOT HOLD MY 15.6" LAPTOP. I HAD TO FORCE IT IN AND THEN THE ZIPPER WOULD NOT CLOSE WITHOUT STRECHING TO A POINT OF ALMOST BREAKING. i HAD TO GIVE IT AWAY TO SOMEONE WITH A 15" THIN NOTEBOOK.

I bought this case for a 15.6 inch Toshiba Satellite. My laptop fits into this case with a little room to spare. It is a sleeve, so yes, prepare for it to be a thin case, that's the point. The blue trimming is a darker blue than the picture makes it out to be, more of a dark royal blue (I'd hope it was more of a sky blue like the picture). I bought this sleeve for extra protection when I place the laptop into the following bigger laptop case, 15.6 inch Lime Green Laptop Notebook Shoulder Messenger Bag / Carry Case / Briefcase And it fits.
