I use this bag while out on the boat. I can see my sunglasses, sun block, childrens items ect without having to dump out my whole bag. I also put my phone in the side pocket. That being said...it is not waterproof. If you were to submerge this bag then water would come in through the zippers. I also put this bag on my back while riding jet skis...my items have stayed completley dry.

I needed this for my daughter who seems to "take" things from school and keeps it in her back pack.

I have bought several clear bookbags this past school year for my two children as their school required. I have had no luck with any of them holding together. This one was no worse nor any better. Within six weeks, each book bag has tears and rips, then the bag falls apart by the end of the third month. This is a rediculous waste of money.

The one good point I will give this bag, is it does have ample room to put folders and books.
