43 inches is the measurement of the outside of the canopy, the arch. The measurement of the opening, the width of coverage, is only 33 inches. This measurement is much more useful information than the measurement of the arch. 33 inches is likely to be insufficient for two people, but seems just right for one.

The umbrella looks to be well built and feels sturdy. This is my first GustBuster and I just got it, so that is about all I can say about it.

As a frequent bus rider, I needed a decent umbrella held up to the wind and fit in my briefcase. This one is exactly what I was looking for. I've gotten to use it several times now and am very pleased. One particular storm with horizontal, driving rain tested it well, and the umbrella held up beautifully. A must for any commuter that has to brave the elements.

I bought this for my daughter who has to walk several blocks from parking to office. The strong winds have ruined her pretty little cheap umbrellas. So far this one has held up well during windy rain storms.

Well over all.. very impressive umbrella! I thought it would be wider... but is acceptable. The unit does what it should do, and that is to perform well while it is raining and there is a strong wind blowing. Works great as far as being wind resistant..
