Buy Kelty Tactical Falcon 4000 Backpack Now
I got the pack 2 weeks ago and was very impressed, shipping was extremely fast and it was packaged well.I opted for the Khaki color over Coyote Brown, because it was cheaper and I am glad I did, the Khaki color is not a light Khaki version, but a darker Khaki for sure, perfect for my liking and I am glad I did not spend the extra money on the Coyote.
As for the pack itself, I love the features and all the MOLLE compatibility around the pack, I have some extra molle pouches that I will be purchasing soon for this, it has MOLLE on the sides, back and waist belt (which would be a good place to put magazine pouches if you were carrying weapons, ammo and/or magazines because there is plenty of space).
As far as this pack being comfortable, it is extremely comfortable, it has very requited padding on the back shoulders and very generous padding on the hips, I am 5'11 and 190lbs and this could fit a larger person or smaller. There is an adjustable back plate so you again adjust torso sizing's. ALSO, I love the the top compartment detaches and doubles as a functional very well sized fanny pack! Everything seems very rugged and all the stitching seems quality, I will update this review if I DO encounter any problems with the stitching or if the backpack starts to fall apart for any reason.
As for what can be fit in, I have done test packs (this is a new pack for next summer), with the appropriate compression sacks (waterproof preferred of course) I can fit my mummy bag, clothing, food for 3-4 days, and accessories and cooking gear and of course with the molle on the outside you can attach more molle pouches. I can strap my 2 person marmot tent to the side of my pack as well as a sleeping pad. This will fit everything for a 3-4 day trek, maybe even more depending on how good of a organized packer you are.
I am giving this 5 stars as for now, it has everything I need and wanted and seems very rugged and good quality. If anything changes about that, with this pack falling apart for any reason, I will be sure to update this review to inform any buyers out there!

Okay folks, so just to get a few things out there, I spent ten years, homeless. A third of my life. And I am very familiar with Kelty products, this one here is very similar to my old Kelty Coyote 4900, though indeed smaller. Which is exactly what I was looking for. An ok minimalist pack. But let's get right off onto pros and consPros: this pack is built fairly tough, has good padding, and is easily adjusted, comes with rain cover and two tops one that's a removable fanny pack, and one that becomes the removed fanny packs cover.
Cons: there's no seperated sleeping bag pocket, no bladder pouch, but its bladder compatible which makes no sense to me. It is highly customizable with all the molle strips. But I'm still pretty disappointed about these cons listed. I'm wishing I'd gone with the larger Kelty Eagle. Maybe later when I'm planning my next three to four month adventure I'll buy that one but for now, this will definitely meet my immediate needs, guess I was expecting a year around pack not a summer pack and this is my fault for not doing more research before purchase.Bought this pack and took it on a quick 4 day 35 mile trip. It saw salt water environment, 20 mile an hour winds over sand, substantial rain, and quite a load of gear. Its spacious, well built, rugged and distributes weight very well. My only complaint is that it basically has one large pocket. However, MOLLE makes it versatile. Its now serving as my BOB until the next long trip into the Amazon later this year. Great pack for what its made for, unbeatable at the price of $125 $200.
