Osprey Men's Raptor 14 Hydration Pack

Osprey Men's Raptor 14 Hydration Pack, Madcap Red, One SizeThis backpack is absolutely superb. I take it for my longer, road bike trips where I can carry the large kryptonite lock, some water (if I really need more I usually keep the hydration pack out of the backpack unless I'm hiking, my bike can carry the water I need), and food and accessories. It is an elegant solution to portable storage. It's got great ventilation so your back isn't a reservoir of sweat and it's got so many small features right that osprey stands out from the rest. This bag proved to me that they are a step-above camelbak. The hydration system is one thing, but having clever and smart design in a tight enough profile where it doesn't completely shatter my aerodynamics on a bike is an amazing feeling. The quality is great and the color is very tasteful. Don't hesitate to buy osprey I know I hear camelbak all the time, but giving this a chance has really shattered my perception on big brand names.

This is a great multipurpose back pack for the day excursion, either biking, running, or just a daily bag for your stuff. Love the option of removing the hydration pack very easily and using the extra space for the small 11in Macbook Air and sleeve. Keep in mind you probably won't be able to fit a larger laptop. Overall, a quality product with a "any reason guarantee" for life!

this is one of the best bag I have. I've been using it for more than a month now home-office-home 5days a week with my bike, carrying my jeans, shirt and personal stuffs...and it perfectly fit the bag (I remove the bladder to use its compartment for my jeans). Using it also for hiking and roaming around the city. the bag is gorgeous and thin, you would never recognize that it carries many stuffs inside.

I tried this pack on in the store and bought it from Amazon because the price was better. This pack has many incredible features that make it versatile for short mountain bike rides and extended all-day rides and hikes. I recently brought this pack with me to Lake Tahoe... it was easy to fit into my luggage because of its compact size, but it has plenty of space to hold 3 liters of water in the bladder plus food and snacks for an entire day on the trail.

I've even taken this pack on a day-hike and am just as pleased with the results as I am with biking. The straps (chest and waist) and low profile of the pack keep it against your back and refrains it from flopping around. The pack features an "Airscape" feature on the back which allows more than adequate ventilation to your back. Many times I've removed the pack after a ride and my back will be dry and the pack will be wet I've even sometimes thought that the bladder was leaking! This is not the case the "Airscape" feature on the back does a great job of wicking away moisture from your back and keeping air circulation around your body while maintaining a low profile.

Nalgene and Osprey did a great job designing the bladder its rigid form, the carrying handle, and easy to close fill hole make the bladder easy to fill, a joy to use, and a breeze to insert into the backpack and zip up. The magnet on the chest strap to hold the mouthpiece is one of the best features of this pack and makes taking drinks while riding without stopping incredibly easy. For those using a GoPro or similar action camera on a chest harness/mount there is no interference with the chest straps or cameras go ahead and use your chest mount worry free and without having a mouthpiece flop into the frame!

Another key feature of this pack were the side pockets. It's great to put my phone in one side and a quick snack in the other. It's the perfect size for a granola bar. Having access to my phone without loosening the straps and taking the pack off is a selling point alone.

The helmet clip is great and I'm able to keep all of my biking paraphernalia together in this pack (with the exception of shoes). My helmet, a change of clothes, gloves, and all of my tools fit in this pack. The tool-kit pocket on the bottom of the pack is a cool feature and I'm able to keep everything in there for on-the-trail repairs, with the exception of the pump (there's a dedicated pump pocket in the main compartment) and my first aid kit.

The only "complaint" I can think of is that when the bladder is full, the main compartment can be difficult to use make sure you pack the pockets before inserting a full bladder and keep your essentials towards the top it can be a tight squeeze to the bottom.

I've received many compliments on this pack and my friends who use Camelbacks; Others I've talked to would buy Osprey for the magnetic mouthpiece alone. Camelback has rested on its laurels for being /the/ brand in hydration packs for some time, but Osprey has shot into the lead with their wide array of packs and their gearing towards bikers. If you're thinking about getting a hydration pack for biking or even just for day hikes this pack is the perfect size for a day of supplies on and off the trail. I highly recommend this pack to anyone!

Sorry for my english.

I like biking but don't like backpacks because of they cause sweat back. New Osprey 2013 AirScape ventilated backpanel works good. There enough space in it for thermos for cold weather riding, sandviches, tools and even for some clothes. Removable and Roll-up Tool Pouch is absolutely incredible improvement. Every backpack must have something like this. As for me 14 liters is the best size for all day riding. It is a little havy 2,5 pounds(1,3 kg) but very comfortable and of course osprey hydration system is the easiest to use. It absolutely justified my expectations so now can't go biking without it.
