I ordered the black/gun metal bag, with green lining inside. I got the Skivvy because I wanted something that's sort of a "sleeve plus", meaning a very minimalist bag that fits the laptop and essential accessories, and nothing more to add the bulk. I went with the large instead of medium because I was concerned that the medium wouldn't fit my 15.6" widescreen laptop. The large fit nice and loose.Crumpler is pricey among bag brands, but it makes up in quality. The seams are all very strong. The valcro really is strong, and the handle is very well constructed. Combining these 2, you really don't need to worry about picking up the bag with the handle when the bag is full and heavy. I haven't had a problem fitting my headset, power supply, and mouse in it, but I would like the front pocket could be a bit wider to easily fit thicker accessories. However, I think this design is intentional to make the bag look slim, and it does the job excellently. The shoulder strap isn't the thickest build, but it works.
I agree with the other reviewer that there could be some more padding along the back of the bag; however, this bag does have sufficient padding on the front (behind the zipped pocket where sharper things could be stored) and the bottom, where it counts.
Overall, I really love this bag. If there's one thing missing, it's the shoulder pad for the thin shoulder strap. I feel at least for the medium and large (where laptops could get heavy), the pad should be included. Crumpler's bags that come with pads are all bulkier than the Skivvy, and a stand alone shoulder pad costs $25 (and seems quite a bit wider than the Skivvy strap, which could slide around). But even with the lack of the pad, I wouldn't trade this bag for any other. This bag is beautiful and I know it is sturdy.
but it does not have enough padding in it.
You have to buy a sleeve with this bag. I won't return it but I am going to buy a sleeve with it.
It fits the 17" macbook pro and has a space designed for additional stuff like one or two books.
