Pacsafe Luggage Metrosafe 300 Gii Laptop Bag

I'm a huge fan of Pacsafe products. I've bought several bags in the last few years, my favorite still being the Metrosafe 200, a bag almost identical to the this one, the Metrosafe 300, except that it is smaller and cannot support a laptop. I've been carrying the Metrosafe 300 Gii around for several months. Everything about this bag is fantastic and meets the high quality that one would expect from a Pacsafe product. However, I feel that the zippers go down too far on the sides of the bag. When the zippers are down, the opening on the bag is very tall and if the bag is full, it can be very cumbersome to get the zippers all the way to one side together in order to snap them into the security latch. In fact, it takes two hands to do it. As a result of this, I find myself not securing the zippers to the security latch. Rather, I leave the zippers on top of the bag so that I can get easy access. Of course, this creates a security problem. Easy access for you also means easy access for pick-pockets.

I actually lost my camera case due to this issue. I was on a hike, opened my bag to pull out my camera, took it out of the case, put the case back into my bag and since one hand was holding my camera, I didn't secure the zippers to the latch. At the end of my hike, I realized that because I hadn't zipped up the bag all the way, my camera case, sitting on top, had fallen out. I doubled back, but never did find it. For this reason, I will not be taking this bag overseas. I wish it didn't have this problem, because otherwise, it is perfect.

The smaller version of this bag (Metrosafe 200) does not have this problem. I've carried it to Europe twice and have always been able to zip it up and latch it securely with one hand while holding my belonging in the other. This year, I may take the Citysafe 200 Gii travel handbag instead of the Metrosafe 200 because I need something just a little bit bigger than the tried and true Metrosafe 200.

I have owned this bag for three months now, it's primary use will be for our big OE, which we will be undertaking in July, this bag is everything thing I could want, as a over the shoulder bag, it sits perfect on the hip, the pockets are awesome, this is what I currently put in it, iPad with keypad, 750ml wide mouth drink bottle which fits in the side pouch snuggly, opposite end a small umbrella fits perfect, I also own the tri fold wallet with the chain secures nicely in the bag, there is plenty of room for a rain coat or soft shell jacket, however with all these items and the water bottle full it gets on the heavy side. It's a shame they have changed the model to not include the back pack as i own the backpack version, However still a brilliant item.

This is in no way a laptop bag. it is more for notebooks and IPads. Also, if it is indeed a laptop bag, amazon or the seller must indicate what the dimensions of the laptop that would fit in this bag would be. In this case, netbook sized laptops or just simply put, netbooks and ipads.

We bought this bag as a companion to the Metrosafe 200. That was too small to carry a DSLR camera or a laptop. We took both on a trip to UK/ Scotland, and were very pleased with the relative capacity of each. The construction is fabulous and the security features very reassuring.
