I've had several Eagle Creek products and this one is true to form with build quality and usefulness. Being a corporate pilot I was looking for something that would get me though a few overnight trips with minimal bulk. This bag fits the bill. It's small enough to easily fit in an overhead compartment should I travel on the airlines, but large enough for several days worth of clothes. The detachable daypack allows me to pack that "extra" few items that I was unable to with other small rollers. Every component feels "high quality" to the touch. I especially like the padded exterior and handles of Eagle Creek bags. Give's them a distinct advantage than most bags I've bought on Amazon. I can honestly say you will be hard pressed to find a better made bag then from Eagle Creek.
4 Stars was only due to the zipper attachment function of the daypack. I would have preferred something a little easier to attach/detach, for instance the buckle attachment of some of their larger bags. Not a quality defect, more so just a personal preference.I purchased this bag for the sole purpose of meeting Ryan air's tough carryon restrictions. The stated bag dimensions : Weight: 6 lbs 9 oz / 2.95 kg Dimensions: 14 x 19 x 7.5 in / 36 x 48 x 19 cm. THE actual bag complete (according to an email from Eagle Creek which was supplied days after I purchased the product was
Main Bag:
Height – 19
Width – 14
Depth – 7.5
Weight – 6 lbs 9oz
Backpack:
Height – 17
Width – 11
Depth – 6
Weight – 1 lb 10oz
Entire Unit:
Height – 19
Width – 14
Depth – 13.5 This dimension alone makes the bag useless for single bag carryon
Weight – 8lbs 3oz
CONSIDERABLY different from sale info.
The zip on, zip off feature of the day bag is awkward to use, especially with anything actually in the bag, and is overly heavy With the day pack attached, the main compartment front zip pockets are inacccessible. The design might appear as an attractive idea, but is a total dud-wasted space, overly heavy awkward to use with inaccurate product specs. Buy something else.I have only used my bag once but am very happy with it. I haven't learned all the best ways to pack it. I got everything in it for a weeks trip. So far great. Can't wait to fly with it.
