Kalencom Diaper Backpack, Ripples Harvest

Kalencom Diaper Backpack, Ripples HarvestI've ended up with more diaper bags than I ever thought I would have when I first had our baby. I just haven't found one bag to rule them all. Each of the bags I've used had different situations that suited them best... this one we've used most when going out for an extended day trip ("going to the amusement park or similar away from home trip but I don't want to carry the giant tote-sized diaper bag" kind of thing). It's a little too bulky for me to use while doing daily errand runs/mall cruising/etc, though.

Well made, no loose seams and the fabric appears will stand up to some use the weave had me worried at first, but it hasn't snagged at all after a few months of on/off usage. Bottle-sized pocket on side very handy for when you've just made a bottle and the baby doesn't want it yet. Without a small cool pack squeezed in with it to help , I don't think i've kept a bottle cold for more than a couple hours though. Comfortable arms straps and a neutral pattern that doesn't clash with most of my earth tone outfits. Also could fit a little more into it than some of my older diaper bags.

Good size for a daypack, but wouldn't use it for an overnight trip to grandma's. More than any of my other bags, I've had to dig around a bit for items. I don't use the side-zip access as often as I thought I did when I purchased itmaybe that would eliminate my dgging. Their moving of the changing pad to the bottom zip around section frees up space in the main compartment. It also has netting pockets in the bottom section, so you can bring along a couple small/travel sized diaper ointments, lotions, or powders if you need themThat bottom compartment was also big enogh for me to fit a couple diagers and travel-size wipes container/box (the kind that many bags come with these days the width/length of an envelope, and the thickness of a modest paperback novel). You might squeeze an actual wipe pack into the bottom, but them you will possibly not be able to fit in as many diapers.

The front zip-pocket seems like it would work well for snacks/spoons/pouches, but I honestly haven't used it for this very often. When I have filled it, it doesn't seem to impact the capacity of the main storage area much.

I didn't find the "oversized" changing mat to truly be oversized. It was longer than many I've used, but it was also narrower than I'm used to. Maybe its just me? I took a star off because of this. So overall not bad, but not the favorite of my diaper bags.
