Le Donne Leather U-Zip Mini Back Pack

This was to replace another backpack/purse and I love it. It's super soft, and so nice looking. The zipper pulls are sturdy and very easy to use, and the zipper is well sewn so it doesn't appear that it will come apart. The shoulder straps are nice and adjustable, although I left them at the longer, factory settings (I am 6' tall).

The purse is lined and there is an external zipper pocket, a size zipper pocket (my phone fist in it just fine) and an internal zipper pocket. The main area of the bag is a little smaller than I had hoped for, but it will work out nicely. I like the way the purse stands up straight when I am going through the contents and looking for my lotion, my glasses (two pairs) or my billfold. It's really going to be a nice purse to use.

I hate rummaging through a large bag for my items. I was looking for a small backpack/purse that would look nice, be durable, and hold just what I carry, without a lot of extra space. This bag fit all my needs. I measured everything I carry and took a look at the measurements of the bag before ordering, because it is a small bag.

It holds my wallet, sunglasses, e-reader or paperback book in the main compartment. My keys and a couple of small cosmetics fit in the inside zip pocket. The front pocket is small and mildly difficult to get into due to its size, but it holds my cell phone and lip balm.

The side pocket is kind of oddly shaped. The zip opening is quite small, but the pocket goes all the way down the side of the bag. I can barely fit my fingers into the pocket, so anything that I put in it must be tall enough for me to reach, no small items. I'm currently using it for a pen. There's more space, but again, only tall items would work in this pocket for me. Maybe a pair of slim reading glasses would fit? A couple of tampons for sure would fit.

I especially wanted a bag with fabric that was firm enough to stand up and not crumple... this bag fits the bill. I also wanted a u-zip and flap that opened down the front of the bag, to let me look & reach directly down into the bag, and this bag is perfect in that regard.

When it arrived, the leather had a very unpleasant, extremely pungent odor. But, it was wrapped tightly in plastic and had clearly been baking in the back of delivery vehicles for days. The bag was actually hot to the touch when I opened the packaging. It's been 24 hours and the odor has nearly entirely disappeared, so I think another day or two, and it will no longer be an issue.

The bag seems sturdy and the handle and straps seem well-made. The straps at their longest let the bag hang kind of loosely off my back, and there are two more holes in the straps if I want to shorten the length.

All in all, I'm very pleased. The saddle color is quite nice. A nice bright brown, without too much orange or red in the coloring. At least for my taste. The zippers seem sturdy, too.

If the front and side pockets were slightly easier to get into I'd give the bag a five star rating. As it is, I feel it's four and half.

after only a few weeks the lining unraveled and now i own a purse that gets caught in the lining every time i try to open it. annoying

I bought this for my mom for Christmas. She loves it. It appears to be a quality item. It is, however, more a purse than a true backpack as it is a bit small (check the deminsions in the product discription).
