Exquisite Womens Designer Briefcase Laptop/Tablet/Ipad Bag

Exquisite Womens Designer Briefcase Laptop/Tablet/Ipad BagI'm a graphic designer for a non-profit, and I wanted a bag with a more professional look. This laptop bag definitely gives a more polished impression than my 10-year-old faded canvas backpack; without breaking the bank. The added shoulder strap makes it easy to carry, and the simple silver accents are elegant. The color is darker than pictured (it's closer to dark chocolate).

This briefcase has sturdy sides and actually looks like leather. It's slender and lightweight, with one main compartment separated into thirds by a zippered center pocket.

It can hold:

* a letter-sized design portfolio,

* day planner,

* file folders,

* your iPhone(or other smart phone), wallet, keys, and lip gloss

* BUT it was a tight squeeze to fit my 13" MacBook--don't think about transporting a larger.

It's a great bag for the price. I may still get the burgundy(if it's available).

I love this purchase! I needed something professional looking but didn't want to spend a fortune, and didn't want something gigantic weighing me down. This bag was the perfect fit. I got the black one with brown and white panels which is nice because it goes with absolutely everything.

The faux leather is very handsome and realistic-looking. I actually thought I made mistake and ordered a leather bag. You can't tell even up close, and even better, it's much sturdier than the real thing. The workmanship overall is really solid: no loose stiches or stray threads or rinky-dink hardware. It looks and feels like a much more expensive product. I'm really hard on my bags and this thing has been knocked around for months and it is still looks perfect. My last briefcase was a $200+ Lodis bag and if you so much as breathed on it the finish scratched and left an ugly white mark. After a few months it looked like hell and I was embarrassed to bring it to meetings. This bag still looks brand new no matter what I put it through. It resists scuffing and scratching as if it was made of teflon. The handles are extremely secure feeling, no sign of pulling or tearing away and I can load up the bag with heavy items and I have no fear of the handle breaking.

Ok, the few negatives: it is on the small side, as some other reviewers have noted. I have a 13-inch Macbook and it fits perfectly, but I would be skeptical about getting a 15 inch laptop inside (I haven't tried this though). Even with the 13-inch, it's hard to zip the top zipper, but that doesn't bother me since I don't usually keep it zipped. The bottom is the widest part and tapers up, so you can easily fit additional smaller items (wallet, phone, charger) down at the bottom but it would be snug to try to fit, e.g. a big portfolio or a thick sheaf of paper, in additional to the laptop.

Also, the bottom is too rounded to sit upright on its own. It just tips over. This isn't a deal breaker but the four little metal feet on the bottom just tease me, then. One final thing I would change would be to make the brown square lighter; it is a very dark brown, almost black. That's kind of a minor quibble though. Overall, a very satisfying purchase.

*** update ***

I wanted to add that I recently upgraded from a 13-inch to a 15-inch Macbook Pro and thought I would have to get a new bag but I am able to just barely slip the 15-inch into the bag. It is a very snug fit, and I can forget about putting too much else in (except for smaller items that nestle down lower where the bag is wider), but it does fit. The Macbook has a fairly slim profile so your mileage may vary with other brands.

I worried that this bag would not be as gorgeous in person as it is in the photographs. But it is. I bought the multi-croc version and it gleams.

It's a little smaller than I thought would support a 13" laptop, but as I was looking for something for my netbook, that didn't bother me. The walls of the bag are very stiff and will support a netbook adequately, but there isn't sufficient padding if you think you might need to throw your bag around or if you suspect it might be trampled.

For me, it's perfect. There's enough room for the netbook, its cord, my phone, lipstick, checkbook wallet, girly items, sunglasses, and powder. It is very compact with all of that, though, so you have to plan ahead.

If you're a hoarder, this isn't the bag for you. If you're like me and you need all of these things but hate purses that don't keep everything where you put it, this bag is great.

(I'm a student, looking for a laptop bag that looks nicer than a backpack.)

Pros:

Nice design, very chic

Very reasonable price

Maybe perfect for work

Seems of good quality

Can easily hold a MacPro 13" without zipping problem

Cons:

No padded pocket for protection from scratches. I can't find a place to put my keys without them leaving marks on my phone and laptop.(if you are willing to put your laptop in a sleeve first, then this is not a problem. But I just hate the extra weight and thickness...)

Looks like it has two compartments at the top, but really just one at the bottom. smaller items just wander around in the bag

Not much room left for other stuffs

It is a nice briefcase, and it matches my wardrobe. But I wind up returning it because I only need a laptop bag right now.

Regardless of whether or not you own a mini laptop, this bag is a must-have. Its crisp lines and gleaming hardware give it a vintage feel--this is every bit as classy as the Hermes Kelly bag that I will never be able to afford...Speaking of price, it's worth every penny of the 45$ I paid for it. The bag sports excellent workmanship--the handles are actually riveted in, rather than just glued. The bag even comes in a protective bag of its own--always a sign of quality! I hope to enjoy this bag for many, many years.
