I purchased this for my 3 year old daughter to take with her to preschool. It is a bit large for her, the perfect size for 5-8 year old, I think. It has one small pocket on the inside that is large enough to hold a small treasure, but not pencils or a crayon box. This was large enough to hold her towel on sprinkler days, but was a bit big for everyday. The fabric Stephen Joseph bags are a better size for preschoolers.
