Case Logic GBP-116 16-Inch Laptop Backpack (Tannin)

OH MY GOD. That's the only way I can describe this backpack! It's the sickest backpack ever! It carries laptops, it carries books, it carries the hopes and dreams of a nation struggling through an economic crisis and war. If I were to chose a word to describe the enormous quality of this backpack, it would be Googleplex. My teenage girlfriend used to be pregnant, then she put on this backpack, and her period came. No more baby. This backpack man, this backpack.

I ride my bike to the gym/work during the warmer months (Michigan weather... don't get me started) and I trust this to protect my work laptop. The pocket intended for laptop use is the part that rests against your back, which is nice because if you've got a laptop in there you don't have to worry about any uneven pressure points on your back.

The hardware is also very substantial. For instance, the main pocket's zipper is probably close to a half-inch thick and zips very smoothly. I get the sense there's no breaking that. Also it comes with velcro stoppers that roll up and keep in place the extra strap length, so as a biker I never have those nylon straps flapping in the wind.

Other reviews have said it was smaller than they had expected, but on its first use here's what I fit in it no problem:

A change of clothes, including a pair of shoes

A 15" Macbook Pro

A makeup bag fit in the front pocket -about the dimensions of an iPad but 4x as thick

Keys, wallet & cell phone

A full size hairspray bottle

A lean cuisine

And the bag was by no means bulking under the strain of containing these items. I think that the only thing you'd have trouble fitting in is more than maybe one or two huge books. A lot of the bag's space isn't width-wise, and my items were the kind that could be packed anywhere.

This backpack was absolutely perfect for me! The straps are comfortable, there are many little pockets to put things in, and its sooooo pretty in this color. The only negative about it is that you might not be able to fit everything in it that you want. the MOST I could fit was my laptop, a 3-ring binder (the 2inch ones), a textbook, the cords for my laptop, and a notebook. I'm a college student, & that was the perfect size for me... some students may not feel the same, though. Overall fantastic!

Case Logic makes a quality product, and this computer toting backpack is no exception. The breathable lightweight materials are well-made with strong seams and zippers, as well as being water resistant to help protect your electronics. With three external pockets, and two side pouches (drink bottle or umbrella), there is an abundance of organizational room for purse items and computer accessories such as a flash drive, head-sets, ear buds, USB, business cards etc.

Inside the main compartment you'll find an additional zippered mesh pouch, and the padded slide-in laptop pouch that completely protects your 16" laptop. The padded pouch is wide enough to accommodate either Apple or late-model PC laptops. In addition, the main compartment also contains lots of room for a notebook, notepads, and books. The padded shoulder straps are easily adjusted and sit well for excellent comfort even when fully loaded. The Case Logic straps have a great Velcro feature that allows you to adjust your shoulders and then roll up the dangling straps so they are out of the way. There is a convenient padded top handle for easy grabbing. The dark gray/charcoal color with just a touch of lime-green detailing on the one vertical zipper and inside mesh pocket, is in keeping with a more professional style.

Great for travel and commuting, as well as for serious students, and teachers who need to carry their paperwork and computers as efficiently as possible.

When I got it... it looked a little small but once I started packing my laptop, charger, books, tablet & supplies everything fit with a little more room left over than I expected!

It is sturdy & seems well stitched, a lot of padding on the shoulder straps for a comfortable wear.

all in all, for a bag that is not top of the line or name brand... it is one of the best I have bought and I am happy with it.

Sometimes you get what you pay for and other times you hit jackpot... this was a jackpot item, for me at least ;)
