I gave this as a gift for a 4 year old poodle theme birthday party. The mother really liked the bag. However, I didn't realize when I bought it that the bag itself is mesh so the contents are visible. I'd be more concerned about the contents falling out of the bag. For a small child putting toys, they might get lost or eventually rip the mesh. But if you're just rolling up a blanket or packing some spare clothes then placing other items in a zip lock you might like this.
