Sony VGP-AMB2 Sport Backpack for VAIO Notebooks

I like to have my hands free when I walk around so I bought this VAIO backpack because it was the best looking one I saw. For sixty bucks, I thought it was a little expensive but as I found, it was more than worth it. It has A LOT of features that you wouldn't know about unless you bought it. It has lots and lots of storage space. First of all, the part that rests against your back is nicely padded. The bottom of the bag is bound with nice leather like material for durability. The "handle" on the top is made of hard rubber and really makes hand carrying it when moving it around much easier. The main pocket closest to your back has a padded sleeve for your laptop. I have a sony S series (13 in screen) and there is way more than enough room for it. It can easily take at least 15 in screen or larger notebook. The main pocket also comes with a nice little cd holder (kinda like the ones that go on car visors) lots of mesh pockets and a cool blue LED light! I guess its for searching inside your bag when it's dark. Nice little bonuses! The next largest pocket has 2 padded velcro pockets inside, 2 mesh zipper pockets, a ID card holder (like luggage ones) and pencil holder loops. It also comes with a removable pencil case! Cool! The smaller pocket is for your portable music player. It has a padded pocket to put your cd player or ipod or whatever in and another pocket for headphones. Plus there is a hole to put the headphone wire through. Sweet. That's not all either. On one side where the shoulder straps attach to the bottom of the packpack, there is a pouch. Unzipping the pouch reveals a water bottle holder! Yeah! Cool huh. Next to that pouch is another padded zipper pocket. It would rest against your back (I probably wouldn't use it but hey it's there if needed). The shoulder straps are well padded and the left one comes with a cellphone holder attachment which can be removed. Cool... Add to all that a nice looking overall package with suble vaio logos on the zippers and you've got a well thought out feature-full do-it-all backpack at a great price. I love it. I am disappointed with this backpack. I bought it because I got a 17" sony vaio. I can put my laptop inside the backpack but then it is difficult to close the bag! Besides, once the laptop is inside, I can not put many other stuff.

It is disappointed because this SONY backpack should fit my SONY vaio !

I purchased a SONY VAIO VGN-NW265F laptop computer on Black Friday 2009 which has turned out to be as close to perfect as possible. I bought this backpack to complement my new laptop. What a mistake! The top handle broke off on one side after just a few weeks. I added one paper folder to take along with my laptop to study at the library and the shoulder straps were already breaking and detaching from the backpack. I used the backpack for a year and a half even though one of the shoulder straps completely broke off during this 18 month period to gain as much time out of it before its replacement. I paid $40 and had to pay another $40 for a replacement Swissgear backpack (also from the AMAZON website), which turned out to be the better choice. I put in extra things in addition to the laptop itself, including a new trackball now, and it is still intact. I considered purchasing another SONY VAIO backpack model but didn't want to take another chance. I ended up having to budget $80 for backpacks when really I only needed to spend half as much.

Bought this backpack for my 16" Sony VAIO FW. The laptop fits great with room to spare. Lots of compartments and pockets, and even comes with a neat little blue LED flashlight for a keychain. The bag is lightweight and not too bulky-nice padding for the laptop, but a bit lean for the outer compartments. Nice leatherette on the bottom of the bag to provide extra strength and rain protection. Very satisfied!

It doesn't fit 17" notebooks even the product was design for those, If you have a VAIO Series AR please don't buy this product, you will return, and waste time. effort and monney for the shipping costs!

The product is really nice but for smaller notebooks, when you buy a VAIO AR series notebook this is the reference for a backpack but don't let that convince you is a LIE! The costures on the fabrics are week and don't resist the weigth and wide of a 17"inches notebook.
