High Sierra Steadfast Backpack

High Sierra has always been my go-to bag when I need a new school bag. This one is the perfect size. Big enough for whatever I need and not bulky at all. I recommend this for anyone who wants the perfect bag for carrying books and school supplies.

There is nothing exceptional about the backpack; but it is a nice size (not overly large and bulky, nor too small to carry my stuff). I like that it has a bit of a structure, so it doesn't flop around excessively when trying to load books.

I am a college student who loves being outside, so I was looking for a backpack that I could take to school, but also take hiking. This backpack is absolutely perfect!

On the outside the backpack is beautiful. The blues are really beautiful, and the gray part on the front (with the logo) is made of reflective material which is a nice touch. The material seems very durable and I can tell this backpack will last me a long time. Though it's not mentioned in the description, I contacted High Sierra about its water resistance and they assured me that it was.

The backpack is extremely roomy, yet at the same time it doesn't look bulky. At the moment I have a hard plastic binder, two hardback college textbooks, one really thick softback textbook, a thinner lab manual, a portable hard drive, AND a small purse in the main section and it all fits nicely! There are also two more sections for smaller things like a cell phone, car keys, MP3 players, etc.

Though I have yet to use it hiking, I'm sure it's going to be perfect for it.

The High Sierra company would probably cringe at the uncoolness of it all, but I think this bag is a perfect alternative to the traditional diaper bag. When my toddler started walking, I found that it was nearly impossible to keep up with him at the park, zoo, museum, etc., especially if we had to use public transportation to get where we were going. The traditional diaper bag I had just kept falling off my shoulder. The High Sierra backpack was the perfect solution. It's a great size and has numerous compartments. The back part (where most people would put books and/or a laptop) is perfect for diapers and wipes. The front part holds anything you'd normally put in your purse and even includes pockets for a cell phone, pocket camera, and pens. The two mesh pockets on the side are perfect for holding a sippy cup for the little one and a travel coffee for you! Oh, and it's incredibly sturdy. After five months of every day use, it still looks brand new. And for forty bucks, how can you beat it? Great product!

I purchased this bag based on the description but it is very hard to translate cubic feet in what the actual usable space and how it is partitioned. I promptly received a high quality bag whose space simply was too small for my needs. I contact Amazon customer service who put me in touch with The Sportsman's Guide customer service. They quickly sent me a return label on their dime to return the bag and not long after that I received my refund. We all no how good Amazon is well The Sportsman's Guide is the same level of service. I was very impressed and will do business with them again.
