My son starts Kindergarten soon, and I am so glad I ordered this book bag for him! It is big enough to fit papers and folders. My only complaint (not really a complaint, more like an observation) is I didn't get the one in the picture. The one I received has a red background with dark red circles where the pirate skull is, a pirate ship where the blue bubbles are, and an octopus and a treasure chest where the pirate ship is. I have to say, I like this one better than the one that is in the picture, so this is a mistake I am thankful for :)
My boy has used this backpack for 3 years, now, and he LOVES it. However, the zipper broke yesterday, and I would think that it should last longer. This backpack HAS taken a beating, though. It was his toddler diaper bag, stuffed full of books, diapers, trains, dinosaurs, etc, and it has served us very well. We like it so much that we will be purchasing a replacement for the broken backpack. We purchased the pink girl pirate backpack at the same time, along with the accompanying lunch boxes for both backpacks, and we love all of it. VERY durable, with the exception of the zipper.
