Recently, when parked on a busy Montreal street in broad daylight, the rear window of my car was smashed. The thief absconded with my Boulder briefcase.
Ouch.
I miss the case more than its contents. I'm overwhelmed with anxiety as I note that Amazon shows it as unavailable, and other on line dealers are out of stock.
Why the seemingly unbalanced reaction?
Simply stated, this is the best briefcase I've ever owned. And over the course of my 59 years I've owned more than a few.
This is an exceedingly well designed and executed product. It's light, good looking, and amazingly functional. Build quality is bomb proof.
There are pockets for everything that are easily accessible while very secure. You'd be amazed how much stuff you can pack into this, yet the profile is sleek, not ungainly. When you have to sprint through an airport, you'll really appreciate how quickly it converts into a comfortable hands free backpack.
If I can't find another one of these I don't know what I'll do...
Update 02/16/12 Fishpond has apparently seen the light and has reintroduced the Boulder. My impassioned messages to them may have paid off. I have one on order!
Life is good.I've had lots of laptop briefcase bags over the years (including MountainSmith, LowePro, Kensington, etc.). I always look for bags that are built well, have plenty of space to hold computer, books and papers, and (this gets lots of points for me) cool style. The Fishpond bag has it all. Extrememly well built, lots of options for carrying (hand strap, shoulder strap, backpack straps), plenty of compartments and pockets, and IT DOES NOT LOOK LIKE EVERY OTHER BAG OUT THERE. It is very cool. All of my flyfishing buddies are envious, too! Not sure that people who don't have a fly rod themselves should actually own this bag .
