16.5 Inch Newspaper Pattern Urban Lightweight School Book Bag Backpack Daypack
Style wise, I give it five stars. I love writing and being as editor of my university's paper, I found this bag a perfect early Christmas present. I have received numerous of compliments.
It's an amazing buy for $15. But if you were looking for a bag to hold textbook, don't put your money on it.Words may not do justice, let me tell ya. The book-bag looks dope. I cannot say the same for the quality. The zipper broke the first time I zipped it open. The straps stitching was coming undone. I was not happy. Frankly, I was down right disappointed.

The first week the strap to zipper fell off. I haven't had it for that long and little by little all the zipper started breaking. It's a nice backpack in terms of style. The quality, however, isn't exactly the best. I've only been using it for a month or two, and the threads where the two straps attach to the top are already starting to loosen. I'm in high school, and I carry my bag around the entire day. It usually contains a few notebooks, folders, food, and occasionally a binder, but NEVER a textbook. I'm afraid it just won't hold, and honestly, I'm afraid that the straps won't hold for the rest of the year. BUT for $15 what more can you expect?Want 16.5 Inch Newspaper Pattern Urban Lightweight School Book Bag Backpack Daypack Discount?

This company is great--they design their backpacks with kids bodies in mind, not just the standard size of a school folder. My child is 4, and therefore a bit in-between on sizes for many day hiking backpacks. It seems many are sized for toddlers, but won't be useful for more than a year or two. This one is sized for age 6 and up, but my child can comfortably wear it (at 38" in height), especially with the many adjustment areas available (chest clip and shoulder straps). There is a large main compartment, smaller zipper pocket, and dual water-bottle pockets on the side (comfortably fit our Thermos Foogo bottles). Reflective piping, and inside the main compartment is a separate hydration pocket we just use for storage. We may have a different or newer pack than the other reviewer received--it definitely is hydration compatible, with the area to put the tube thru to the shoulder strap, and elastic to hold the straw in place. Nice fabric, and no, it will probably not hold a school folder without bending it, but it is appropriately designed to keep the load in the right place for growing bodies. We bought this for traveling and day use--really happy with it.Ordered two of these for Christmas. Thought they were a great alternative to the over-priced Camelbak. Unfortunately, received a simple backpack. No bladder, no hose, no bite valve. There wasn't even a hole to place a hose through if we wanted to add a bladder to the interior. This is not a hydration pack. Returned to Amazon and ran to our local REI to get the Camelbak "Scout" for our kids. They cost $50, but were truly hydration packs. Lesson learned.fishpond Boulder Laptop Briefcase
Ouch.
I miss the case more than its contents. I'm overwhelmed with anxiety as I note that Amazon shows it as unavailable, and other on line dealers are out of stock.
Why the seemingly unbalanced reaction?
Simply stated, this is the best briefcase I've ever owned. And over the course of my 59 years I've owned more than a few.
This is an exceedingly well designed and executed product. It's light, good looking, and amazingly functional. Build quality is bomb proof.
There are pockets for everything that are easily accessible while very secure. You'd be amazed how much stuff you can pack into this, yet the profile is sleek, not ungainly. When you have to sprint through an airport, you'll really appreciate how quickly it converts into a comfortable hands free backpack.
If I can't find another one of these I don't know what I'll do...
Update 02/16/12 Fishpond has apparently seen the light and has reintroduced the Boulder. My impassioned messages to them may have paid off. I have one on order!
Life is good.I've had lots of laptop briefcase bags over the years (including MountainSmith, LowePro, Kensington, etc.). I always look for bags that are built well, have plenty of space to hold computer, books and papers, and (this gets lots of points for me) cool style. The Fishpond bag has it all. Extrememly well built, lots of options for carrying (hand strap, shoulder strap, backpack straps), plenty of compartments and pockets, and IT DOES NOT LOOK LIKE EVERY OTHER BAG OUT THERE. It is very cool. All of my flyfishing buddies are envious, too! Not sure that people who don't have a fly rod themselves should actually own this bag .

Badlands Ambush Backpack (MOBU, 11 x 12 x 6.5-Inch)
The pack has two elastic web pockets for water bottles that Badlands says are for 26 ounce bottles. They will not hold a wide Nalgene 32 ounce bottle or a military 32 ounce canteen. They easily hold a 16 ounce blue cap Nalgene or the taller Klean Kanteen stainless steel 27 ounce (800 ml) water botttles, although the Klean Kanteen bottles are a bit top-heavy in the pocket because less than half their height is supported by the webbing. The elastic loops to secure the water bottle are sheathed by plastic tubes to resist abrasion. They will stretch enough to reach around the top of the 27 ounce Klean Kanteen bottle, and this keeps the bottle stable in the pack. These pockets will also hold a 32 ounce Poweraide sport drink bottle, which is slightly less in diameter at the bottom, and moreso in the middle, than a 32 ounce Nalgene bottle. It is not as easy when wearing the pack to get a Poweraide bottle back in a pocket because the webbing needs to strectch quite a bit to get the bottom of the bottle started in the pocket. I've hiked with all three of these options.
The cargo pocket is wide enough and tall enough to hold two military canteens, if you want, along with more cargo, although the weight of so much water and other gear might be more than you'd want to carry in a fanny pack. The Ambush is built strong enough, though, to handle the weight.
The zipper pulls are heavy duty, and the zippers seem sturdy. The plastic buckles on the hip belt also seem sturdy. The two side pockets on the hip belt are seven inches long, but they tightly follow the curve of your hips or waist, so don't expect them to hold something ridged like a long multitool or large folding knife. I carry a Brunton Classic compass upright in the forward portion of a side pocket and it fits snuggly. There are "bedroll straps" on the bottom of the pack, useful for a poncho or rain jacket, although I haven't tried using them for that.
The suspension system is first-rate. It is a comfortable pack to wear. I usually wear it so that the hip belt covers to top of my pants belt and the buckle sits right above the buckle on my pants belt. This way, my pants belt is assisting in supporting the pack. The pack is not firm and flat against my back from the top of the pack to the bottom with this method. If I hitch the pack up a bit, so there is distance between my two buckles, then the pack is firm against my back. Body types and clothing choices will vary, of course. When hiking, once I've been underway for a short while, I find myself almost unaware of the pack.
This is my first Badlands pack, and I'm impressed with the quality and good price. There are many fanny packs around the price of the Badlands Ambush, but from what I've seen this is of much higher quality than any of them.Best belt carry pack for hiking and fishing I use it constantly and it is quite durable for sure good one!

SOLO Tech Collection Laptop Backpack for 17.3-Inch Notebook Computers (TCC703-4/20)
I was looking for a large backpack that would hold my books, laptop and my little lunch bag for the day, and it was this or the Targus XL Backpack. Well after looking at both I went for the cheaper one. So far I haven't regretted the decision. The size is slightly smaller than the Targus, and it does seem to be a little lower in the quality of material and build, but the comfort and compartments to me seem just a tiny bit better. I like Solo's large main compartment with the smaller nicknacks in the front compartment and the laptop compartment in the back.
The zippers seem to be well constructed with metal pulls, but the bag material on the bottom seems like it might be a bit flimsy and I suspect it will wear out quickly. The straps are nice and cushiony and the back padding is very comfortable.
So far it has been very good. I'll try and report back in a few months to tell you how it has held up.

Osprey Elroy One Size Shoulder Bag
It's BIG. Cavernous big. I took it climbing last night, and was able to fit a half-rope (for the gym), 2 pairs of shoes, my harness, chalk bag, a roll of tape, and an apple, without squeezing. I also got a water bottle and a thermos into the outside mesh pockets, with easy access to everything.
The shoulder strap is wide and comfortable, so it's not a strain on my neck. I also like the easy-adjust clasp on the shoulder strap, which makes it super easy to adjust (as implied), great for going from my biking to walking, full to empty, etc...
Lots of organization options, which can get complicated but also lets me keep things that I need easy access to separate from the rest. That said, the design makes the main pocket easy to pack and keep organized anyway.
The wasit/chest strap is also nice for commuting on my bike, keeping the pack on my back.
A few cons:
The buckles used to close the pack are weird. They're not standard buckles. Not a big deal at all, and they're low-profile which I guess is a good feature, but they're weird. There's a nice wide velcro patch which works well, though, so I often don't use the buckles if I'm just walking.
Because of the design of the easy-adjust shoulder strap, it doesn't double-back, so the tail can get quite long when I've got it cinched all the way up.
The mesh pockets on the outside aren't super tight, so sometimes if I've got a thermos or bottle in there and I lean over to tie a shoelace, it'll come tumbling out.
Overall, I like it as a compromise between a laptop bag, a carry-on, and a messenger bag. This bag is great but one trip down the aisle of a 747 and the strap pulled out of front flap. If it gets repaired under warranty this bag is a 5 star messenger bag.
Bag was repaired at no charge.

Stephen Joseph Boys 2-7 Boy's Go-go Bag
It's on the smaller side and was perfect for my 4 year old.I got this bag for my son for daycare. Every day we have to bring clothes, lunch, blanket, etc. This bag holds it all. He is only 1 years old so of course for now I still have to carry it. He's too small but probably next year it will be a better size for him. It is easy to wipe out and keep clean (his lunch spilled once) which is a big plus for me.
I picked it because it doesn't have characters on it. He's too small to like a certain character that much anyway and if I picked one he does like he'd grow out of that character by next year and not like the bag anymore.

My daughter loves it -perfect size for toddler/pre school child for air line travel. Straps are adjustable which was a requirement for me.This is our 2nd Steven Joseph bag and we love them. My grandson just outgrew the design on his first one and is now interested in sharks. This bag is so cute!
