AmeriLeather Cosmopolitan Leather Tote

AmeriLeather Cosmopolitan Leather ToteI needed a bag to carry a computer in that would serve as a handbag as well. This bag was as advertised. I have adapted it for use as a handbag also. Good quality.

Love the bag and the side zipper compartment with sliding holders for a palm PDA and a phone or camera the bag is styles and comfortable for me. I don't have to worry about the straps sliding off. As soon as I can I will probably buy another one. Five stars all the way.

The type of leather was different than I had perceived it to be from the picture but it's still a good bag and I like it.

The design of this bag is fabulous. I love the front pocket, it's like having a separate bag. It looks sturdy, the inside seems sturdy too, the size is just right, the big compartment is, well, big.

BUT

The thing smells! My 4 year-old son decreed after holding my new bag for 5 minutes. " Mom, it smells like a farm." And he is right. I don't know what they used and what I can do to get rid of that smell. I kept the thing out in the cold, inside in the heat, sprayed Chanel perfume inside. Nothing works. My office reeks like I have a cow hidden in there. It's quite embarrassing, really. I'd be tempted to return it but the price was great and I really like the design and functionality. What to do about the stench???

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my mother, and I expected the bag to be made of leather, as the description says "cowhide leather."

It feels like cheap plastic leather, there is no way that this bag is made of genuine leather.

It does, however, have all the pockets described and is the perfect size for a school bag.... I just wish I would have know it would feel so cheap in real life.

VYP-BLK-XL2: Booq Vyper XL2 (17 Inch MacBook Pro)

VYP-BLK-XL2: Booq Vyper XL2I was looking for a sleeve-like option for MBP, but didn't find a lot of options in the 17" category. So far the Booq Vyper XL2 is pretty good. It offers a rigid outside that looks thicker than it really is. There is also not much extra padding along the corners; where you need the most protection. The zippers are also on the weak-side, although I have had no trouble with them so far. All-in-all, I don't think I would have purchased this sleeve if I saw it in the store. Might rather have gone with Timbuk2 padded Sleeve for its added protection.

I purchase the Booq Vyper XL2 along with a Python XL backpack. After doing a lot of research I found this to be the best solution (I have since purchase and love the Brenthaven Pro 15/17 backpack). On the very first day of use, the zippers jammed. I tried unjamming them only to have half the zipper pull break off, making the sleeve usable with only one zipper. Later that day, the other zipper jammed and broke off. I was sure this was a manufacturing defect and contacted the company. Booq required that I photograph the broken zippers and send to them in a specific size and format. They would then review the pictures and make a decision on whether to send out a new sleeve. Well, this was a little unorthodox to say the least, but I did what they asked (I wondered why I couldn't just send them the defective sleeve and have them send me a new one after they receive it.) After jumping through quite a few hoops, I finally convinced them that I actually did purchase this, and that it was actually broken. It took a couple weeks to get the replacement. Upon arrival, I packed it up with the Booq Python XL backpack and sold it. The design is nice enough, but it is truly spoiled by zippers that just don't work. Add that to their deplorable customer service and it was definitely not worth the premium price they're asking. I challenge companies that offer so-called "lifetime warranties" to actually stand behind their products (without question)! There seems to be precious-few out there.

My big complaint is that there's no handle. I mean even an elastic type handle would make this a real gem. It's still really cool and definitely looks "sexy". Durable and padded, it will keep the laptop from scratches and minor hits. Also no room for AC adapter.

As another reviewer stated, I was wary of this sleeve due to some poor reviews of the zippers. I went ahead with my purchase anyway and have been very happy with the product. The zippers are high quality and move smoothly. The sleeve also has a little cloth lip on the inside of the zipper that prevents it from making contact with the laptop. I had thought about saving a little money and just getting a neoprene sleeve, but I wanted something with a bit more protection for my several thousand dollar laptop. The Booq Vyper XL2 gives me that.

The only thing I wish it had was a zipper pocket or something else on the outside to hold memory cards/sticks and possibly the power cord. I realize that most people will be using this inside of a computer bag, so this may not be a major issue. I use mine with a Targus bag and it works great!

Manhattan Portage Waterproof Bike Messenger Bag

Manhattan Portage Waterproof Bike Messenger Bag-OrangeIt stands up better to the climate here where it is imperative that if one spends alot of time outdoors, one needs waterproof equipment!! It is very well built and has plenty of capacity for whatever I pick up along the way; on or off the bike. It also is very visible, which is a necessity for me in my travels. I chose the bag over all others because of its value, (best price)! and for the way it is laid out; the perfect amount of pockets and carrying capacity for me. This bag also stands for a place that I have visited twice and hope to return, possibly for a bike tour, soon: Manhattan, NYC. I should also mention that it is a very good looking bag that stands out in a crowd!! I am very pleased with my purchase and this bag is now my 1st choice, whether on the bike or on foot. Thank you for such a fine product!

OskerBee Diaper Bag / Backpack

OskerBee Diaper Bag / Backpackwow this is one of the greatest bags ever . it turns into a backpack.. how great of an idea is this.. wow extremely satified

I loved the design of the bag and I love that it is huge, but the material is so cheap! It has slowly been falling apart since I bought it two months ago. It is now torn in several places and the leather is rubbed off on several other places (not even due to wear and tear, it started falling off the moment I unpacked it from the shipping box). Wish the company would make this bag better. I would spend more money and go for one of the other better-made diaper bag backpacks.

Targus Military Messenger Case Designed to Protect 16-Inch Widescreen Laptops TSM10901US (Dusty Gre

Targus Military Messenger Case Designed to Protect 16-Inch Widescreen Laptops TSM10901USThis backpack works really good as a laptop carrier, and you could also carry the cords, etc, but it's not nearly as big as it looks in the photo. In the photo it looks as if it could double as a school backpack, and it couldn't. That's not a drawback for *me*, but I just want to make that clear to a potential buyer. Aside from that, it's very well made, sturdy, and comfortable. It's also a nice alternative to the all too common messenger bag if that's not your style.

I've had this laptop backpack for 3 months now. I own two other laptop backpacks and since I've had this one I've never wanted to go back to using them.

This backpack is surprisingly comfortable. The shoulder straps aren't bulky, but they are slightly padded and adjustable in length at the bottom and in depth at the top. The laptop compartment sits next to the wearer's back and is padded with breathable mesh padding in a way that both protects the laptop and makes the backpack comfortable to wear. I haven't gotten sticky back, where sweat from your back makes your shirt stick to you after taking off a backpack, while wearing it.

The build quality is uncompromising. The zippers are sturdy and in 3 months of daily use have snagged exactly 0 times. It looks exactly like the day I got it. No loose stitches, no signs of wear, no signs of fatigue. The laptop pocket is separate from the other pockets, so you don't have to worry about mayo from your lunch getting in your keyboard. That pocket is padded on both sides to protect the laptop from other things in the bag and from the outside world. The non-laptop pockets are two layer material. Outside is a durable almost rubberized material that seems very water resistant, along with reinforcements in key areas of nylon webbing. Inside the pockets are lined with a thinner non-rubbarized nylon that also seems quite sturdy.

Another comparison point is an Osprey daypack I use when hiking outdoors without my laptop. Osprey makes packs that are guaranteed for life and charge accordingly. Both backpacks seem to use the same mesh padding on the back (the Targus laptop pack has additional padding behind that for the laptop). Both have the same material for the lining of the pockets. Both have similar quality zippers, though my Osprey zippers snag some due to how they are built in. The shell material in the Targus seems more water resistant and more durable.

Really the only downside I can find is that the yellow color lining the laptop pocket on the Dusty Green/Black and Yellow Accents model is not very attractive. But you only see that when you are opening the pocket to put a laptop in or out, so it's not that big of a deal to me.

Highly reccomended.

In the past, I've used Targus laptop backpacks that were basically backpack versions of the standard Targus laptop briefcase. They were optimized for carrying laptops and business papers, but they weren't very comfortable backpacks. I've also tried standard backpacks, but the lack of a dedicated laptop compartment was a drawback. To protect the laptop, I put my computer in a neoprene sleeve, which added weight, bulk, and hassle.

This Targus case is a nice hybrid. Overall, the design is very similar to a standard backpack, but it has a padded compartment with a microfiber covering on one side for the laptop. The design is very good for college students.

Here's a quick summary of what I like (+) and where there's room for improvement (-) ...

+ Dedicated, nicely padded laptop area, with microfiber lining on one side (you need to put the laptop in the case with the top cover on the microfiber side to get full anti-scuff protection, although the other side is basic nylon, which shouldn't be too bad on the laptop) -laptop compartment is very large (they say it handles a 16" laptop, but my 17" fits easily)

+ Nice, roomy backpack, with good-sized water bottle holders on both sides (large enough for refillable bottles), and easily accessible gadgets pouch

+ Looks like pretty heavy duty stitching, the fabric looks like it's probably waterproof, and the straps adjust easily

Shoulder strap padding is noticeably lighter/thinner than I'm used to for backpacks -this feels like it could be a problem when carrying heavy loads (I was surprised by this drawback, since my previous Targus packs have had beefy, well-padded straps)

The fabric is a thin, smooth, waterproof (I assume) material -it doesn't look/feel like it will wear as well as heavy duty ballistic nylon, but that's just a gut feeling for now (I'll have to use it for a few months to know for sure)

Overall: Decent general purpose backpack, although it doesn't feel to me like it has the quality of materials and number of features I'd expect for fifty dollars (the price at the time of this review). If you just want a good quality backpack, better and cheaper packs are widely available. If you want a dedicated, padded, lined compartment for your large laptop, though, Targus cases like this one are worth the extra dollars. Within the Targus line, I personally prefer their standard laptop backpacks over this "military" model -their standard packs have better fabrics and features for the price.

I received this bag for free from the Amazon Vine program. The bag has a somewhat "tactical" or military look, so I'm comparing it to other bags of a tactical or outdoor nature.

My first impression was that this is a low quality bag the material is not very thick or rugged, and the zippers and hardware in particular are of the cheap low quality type. Frankly, I'm surprised by all the high reviews, as this simply is not up to the quality standards of other tactical style backpacks, i.e. anything from Maxpedition, the more value based 5.11, or my personal favorite Blue Force Gear, or from other outdoorsy makers such as Patagonia.

While I wasn't overly impressed with the build quality of this bag, I decided to reserve judgment until I saw the price, as the brands I listed above, while of far superior quality, can also be quite pricey. Honestly based on the quality of this bag I was expecting it to cost $25 or so, and I was surprised to see it listed at over fifty dollars.

One thing I like about this bag is that it has two large compartments, as opposed to only one large one. I currently use this as my gym back, and the dual compartments allows me to keep my clean vs. dirty clothes separated.

Based on the overall quality vs. value, I give this item 3 stars, as it is still cheaper than other tactical backpacks. However, if you plan to purchase a bag that you will use for a long time and will potentially see some hard use, I think it the long run it would be better to pay more money for a bag that will last. I just don't think this bag is going to hold up to long term or hard use.

Leisure Lightweight 360 4 Piece Luggage Set

Leisure Luggage Lightweight Collection Berry 360 4 Piece Set, Berry, One SizeI'm a seasoned traveler and was desperate for LIGHT-WEIGHT-DURABLE LUGGAGE WITH SWIVEL CASTERS. Although hesitant to purchase without actually being able to physically try it, I felt i had nothing to lose since i couldn't find anything with swivel wheels in my price range. I bought this luggage back in December of 2010 and have used it several times since then. I AM EXTREMELY PLEASED with it. It is light-weight and the swivel casters are the key. Being able to turn the luggage sideways to get down the aisle of the plane is fantastic. That is the feature i really wanted, but the luggage that normally offers that is VERY EXPENSIVE, EXPECIALLY HAVING 3 PIECES WITH THAT FEATURE (the smallest bag's wheels don't swivel, just roll...no big deal since i use that as my computer bag anways. It is VERY WELL MADE AND QUITE RUGGED. I previously spent ALOT OF $$$$ on brand name luggage like Samsonite and American Tourister and have been less than thrilled with those brands. But this luggage, I've had 0 PROBLEMS! None of the: zippers breaking off in my hand, or the threads coming apart where the zipper is sewn, or the teeth being damaged so you can't even use the zipper, or the liner inside the luggage coming apart or the wheels/knobs breaking so it falls over, or the telescooping handle jamming and being unusable. I also love all the different compartments and the convenient 1 quart zip heavy plastic bag that is velcroed in so when you take out your liquids to go through security, it makes it easy. The smallest bag i use for my computer bag and use it EVERY DAY. Again it has been used and abused and works as good as the day i bought it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BUYING THIS PRODUCT and this is coming from a well-traveled individual.

I recently purchased this set and traveled to SouthAmerica for 2 weeks, we flew a total of 8 fligths and the luggage handled wonderfully! I used the small tote as a diaper bag and it made my life easier.I think it depends on the way the luggage is handled at the airports and even the toughest luggage might end up damaged at one point. I also used a few samsonite pieces during the trip and those where the ones that ended up damaged. The 4 wheel system makes it a breeze to walk through the airport and very lightweight but plenty of room to expand. I highly recommend this set!

We bought this luggage set for a 10-day vacation/cruise, and it was PERFECT!

DURABLE:

After being handled by multiple bus drivers, airport personnel, and ship personnel, NOTHING on any of our bags was broken or damaged. The extending handles, wheels, and zippers all made the trip intact. There were no tears in the fabric, and it was not visibly worn or dirty.

CONVENIENT:

I can't say enough about the wheel system on these bags. The three suitcase-style bags have 4 wheels on the bottom that can turn 360 degrees. This means not only do you not have to tilt the bags in order to roll them, you can also roll them in any direction especially useful for navigating through crowded airports and even up the airplane aisles. The smaller duffel-style bag only has two wheels and must be tilted in order to be rolled, but it has an extending handle tucked unobtrusively inside a zippered pocket in the back, so if you load it up and it's too heavy to use with the shoulder strap, you can wheel it right along with the rest of your luggage, or attach it to the handle at the top of one of the larger bags with the velcro strap also located on the back of the bag.

ORGANIZED:

I like to stay organized, and these bags certainly have enough pockets to help me do that. The three suitcases are identical, just different dimensions. Each has a large and small pocket on the front, a flat pocket on the back (great for storing things like receipts, boarding passes and passports), a mesh pocket inside on the lid, two shoe pockets inside on the long sides, and a clear zippered bag for liquids that can be velcroed inside or removed. The duffel bag has two separate main compartments and a large pocket on the front with a smaller zippered pocket inside that.

LARGE CAPACITY:

I had no trouble fitting about two weeks' of clothes, plus an extra pair of shoes, in the mid-size suitcase. My husband's clothes and all of our toiletries fit easily in the largest suitcase. The smallest suitcase we used for souvenirs. The duffel we used for two full-sized laptop computers with their assortments of cables and cords. The duffel, smallest, and mid-sized suitcases are all small enough to be considered carry-on for some airlines. The mid-sized suitcase may be borderline or too big for more conservative airlines, and the largest one definitely has to be checked.

Overall VERY pleased with these bags, highly recommended!

Updated 4/25/13 :: Product is not holding up as well as I had hoped. The fabric is really fraying and zippers are not holding up as well as one would hope for. As with so many things, you get what you pay for. I have downgraded this luggage to 3-stars because of the poor condition of the fabric, and it hasn't been used as much as the fabric would indicate.

We bought this set in Merlot for our daughter as a graduation gift (she was moving after finishing college) and she was going to be needing a set of luggage for moving cross-country and as storage. My wife found this online and went to see it at a local department store she came home very impressed. Amazon had it for far less money and we ordered it. I admit that I was skeptical this much luggage for less than $200? but it looks good, appears to be built well and from a strong nylon fabric, zippers are very sturdy, I was impressed as well. The daughter packed up and headed West with it and has taken a couple of trips with it since; everything held up beautifully. The smallest piece was left here at home and my wife has used that for business travel a couple of times before turning it over to the offspring and again, no issues. Our other luggage will need replacing soon and we plan to buy this brand again.

Highly Recommended!

Powerbag Red Back Pack Designed by ful with Battery for Charging Smartphones, Tablets and eReaders

Powerbag Red Back Pack Designed by ful with Battery for Charging Smartphones, Tablets and eReadersSummary: A very heavy duty backpack / book bag targeted to students, with much left to be desired in integration of the battery pack the sum of parts is less than the whole.

I went on a week long vacation in Jamaica recently and after returning was going to be a lot more critical of this backpack / battery combo, but then after some thinking, concluded that I'm probably not the target customer. The person who would benefit most from this combination is using the backpack to lug their books and stuff to class or work on a daily basis.

The hook is that they've built in a 3000 mAH battery with cables to charge any portable devices to give you some extra life for phone calls when riding home on the train or sitting in a Starbucks flipping through your iPad. If you're getting on a long flight, this isn't going to do much at all for you. The external charge port means you plug in your backpack, rather than having to plug in a device and remember to put it in your backpack.

So what's my beef?

1) Far more of a cool looking consumer backpack than something functional. Adjustable sternum strap is nice, but they prioritized this over a hip strap? Mesh shoulder straps nice but the back part does NOT have mesh which means it really isn't going to be very comfortable for carrying for long at all. As a student daypack for books, that's fine, but I'd also want to be able to take it on a short hike now and then. Lots of padding and stiching which does nothing but make the bag heavier and bulkier.

2) Padded laptop compartment...isn't padded on the sides. They designed a really cool pocket for a laptop but the padding is ONLY on the large flat sides of the laptop, not on the sides and bottom where you really need it. FAIL.

3) Proprietary battery replacement / upgrade battery inserts cost several times more than compete external battery packs from other makers. Did Sony make this backpack?

4) There's a really nice slot for a tablet, but forget about charging it with the supplied cords they're too short and tied to the charging slot on the side you'll have to bring your own cord.

5) 3000 mAH is good for phones, MP3 players and the like, useless for tablets. (Also see complaint #4.)

6) Charger doesn't deliver. Plugging in my HP Touchpad I went from only 12% to 23% charge. Had it been able to deliver it's full 3000 mAH of electron goodness, it should have gone to 62%. BTW, this is less than the charge I was able to get from the 1000 mAH Belkin Portable Power Pack 1000 for Tablet, Smartphone, and more

7) Charging lights barely very visible. In the video you can very clearly see the blue status lights, however on mine, the white status lights shining through the heavy black nylon are *just* visible in side, and basically invisible outdoors.

To recap the backpack itself has some cool features but overall lacks the capability of offerings from companies like Case Logic, Jansport, Deuter,, etc. The battery pack performance is lacking and integration has limitations. I'd recommend getting a good backpack and separate battery pack.

Here are a few battery packs if you're just charging a phone, 2000-3000 mAH is fine, for a tablet, 5000-7000 is better.

Lenmar PPW66 PowerPort Wave 6600 Portable Battery and Charger for iPad/Tablets, Smartphones, and Other Devices

New Trent ifuel IMP500 5000mAh External Battery pack and Charger for Apple iPhone 4S 4 3Gs 3G (AT&T and verizon), iPod Touch (1G 2G 3G 4G 5G), Motorola Droid, HTC Android EVO, Blackberry, Samsung EPIC, Samsung Galaxy Tablet, Samsung Galaxy S and much more

PowerGen External Battery Pack 5200mAh High Capacity Power Bank Charger 1A output for Apple iPad 2, iPhone 4 4s 3Gs 3G, iPod Touch / Samsung Galaxy S S2 S II, Galaxy Nexus, Epic 4G / Blackberry Torch Bold Curve / HTC Sensation 4G, XE, XL, Thunderbolt, E...

When this arrived I was immediately impressed with how solidly constructed it is, with thick stitching and generous use of materials. Arm pads are well padded and a one hand carry handle is also present.

The bag has 2 main pockets, one of which should accommodate any laptop (my 15 inch Macbook Pro fits easily) The other compartment has a zippered pouch which includes the removable rechargeable battery and pockets to hold an iPhone or iPod as well as a larger pocket for an iPad with a velcro closure with a hole in it to allow hookup for charging in the pocket. An iPad fits very snugly in the pocket any case on the iPad must be removed first. Also included are a couple pockets for pens and some small pockets which could accommodate credit cards. Any devices charged within the pack need to be hooked up to the USB port on the battery assembly with cables which you supply. There is also an outer pocket with the charging cables already run to it which can be used to charge an iPhone or other cell phone in the outer pocket. Included are Apple 30 pin, micro USB, and mini USB cables.

The battery itself is marked 7.4 V / 11.1 Wh (which I had assumed meant 11.1 watt-hours but I may be wrong on that) and can be removed and charged via the included charger or charged in place via the covered port on the back of the pack. That included charger is well designed with a flip out wall plug and case design to allow the cable to be wound around the unit. This is a very Apple-like touch which avoids messy loose cables.

The button on the back of the pack can be pressed momentarily to check charge state of the battery and must be pressed for 2 full seconds to start charging a device. Battery state is indicated by a series of LEDs which illuminate through the backpack material and when they are off are invisible.

Overall, I am very impressed with this backpack and would recommend it.

Buy Powerbag Red Back Pack Designed by ful with Battery for Charging Smartphones, Tablets and eReaders Now

With so many portable devices that we have needing to be re-charged, FUL came up with the idea of the Powerbag Back Pack, which combines a computer back pack with a removable/swappable built-in battery.

There is a regular USB 2.0 socket on the charger, located inside the front compartment, as well as three kinds of cables (micro USB, mini USB, and Apple 30-pin) that are pre-wired inside a zippered, small side pocket. The cables are not very long, probably designed that way to minimize entanglement. They are for charging small USB devices like cellphones, iPods, and MP3 players. The pocket is designed to hold them while they are being charged.

For larger devices like the Apple iPad or Amazon Kindle Fire, you should use the USB port and the appropriate, self-provided cable to charge them.

A proprietary 3000 mAh capacity rechargeable battery is provided with the Powerbag Back Pack. You can order additional batteries (@$40) at the maker's website (wwwdotpowerbagdotcom). There are also 6000 mAh ($50) and 9000 mAh ($60) batteries available. The battery can output a maximum current of 2.8 Amps, so you can charge an iPad which requires 2.1 Amps and another USB device at the same time. Theoretically, you can charge up to four devices at the same time, but charging time will be longer, because the charging current is shared by the devices.

What makes this bag special is the LED charging and battery state indicator embedded inside the fabric of the bag, and the battery power inlet on the bag that allows you to charge the built-in battery without taking the battery out of the bag. You can see what these look like by clicking customer pictures.

To begin charging a device, you first connect the devices to the appropriate cable, then press the power button on the front of the Powerbag for 2 seconds, until the LED's light up to indicate both the battery state and to commence charging. Pressing the power button again would turn off the charging process.

Of course you can also buy a USB battery charger and put it in a back pack to achieve the same function. What Powerbag does is giving you a more integrated and MUCH more convenient package. I also like the availability of additional and higher capacity battery packs that can extend the time I am away from AC power.

The idea of the Powerbags is very neat, and I will agree with every positive review here on the great features of the bag, especially the integrated battery.

However, as a "rodwarrior" travelling in and out of airports all the time, I expect my backpacks to withstand "lots of torture".

All the benefits aside, this Powerbag has one very important weakness: the sides of the compartment on the back/spine of the backpack (where the laptop slides in), are just one layer of nylon providing no protection to the long-side-edges of the laptop whatsoever...Furthermore the seams between this nylon and the more robust "ballistic" nylon that cover the whole front and back facias of the backpack ripped in 2 months of use! My colleague mentioned that my laptop was protruding out the side of the bag in an airport as I was holding the backpack on one shoulder...little more and the laptop would have ripped through this tear and fallen/crashed on the terminal floor.

Until this issue is fixed, I don't even want the replacement backpack that Powerbag may be sending me. I cannot risk my equipment ripping & falling out of these bags.

Hope this helps.

This is a great backpack, in its own right. It's quality construction and looks great. Maybe it could do with a little extra padding here or there, but for the most part, even without the battery integration, this would be a great backpack. It fits a laptop, but I think it's more suited to a tablet (since there is that battery).

The battery integration is done very well. It's easy to charge, and has been a great help with my battery eating HTC DROID INCREDIBLE 2 Android Phone (Verizon Wireless). I'm reminded of Ghostbusters where they had to carry their power packs around on their back... who would of think I needed to do that just for a little mobile phone? But that is indeed the case.

Personally, I felt the price to be high until I looked into the price of a normal backpack like Targus Drifter II Backpack for 16-Inch Laptop TSB238US (Black/Gray) and an external battery pack like PowerGen Black Mobile Juice Pack / External Battery Pack 2900mAh UltraSlim Power Bank Charger (with Built in Micro USB) for HTC Sensation 4G XE XL, EVO 3D, ThunderBolt, Inspire 4G, Sprint EVO, EVO Shift, Rezound / Motorola Arix, Triumph, Droid Razr X 3 .... It's actually quite fair, especially considering the convenience of the tight integration.

All in all, this really does stand out as a unique offering, and they did a great job!

[Update 2/6/2013] A new discovery about the bag: it also has a spot for you to plug in a USB cord if you have something exotic for which they don't have a standard connector. That's been REALLY helpful recently; a great feature! [End Update]

Marvel Super Hero Spiderman Spider Man Sense Large Black Backpack Bag

Marvel Super Hero Spiderman Spider Man Sense Large Black Backpack BagI got this for my grandson who was starting first grade. He loves Spiderman and spent a lot of time this summer wearing his spiderman costume playing pretend games.

He was thrilled with the school pack pack and could not wait for his friends to see it. This bag is well made and big enough to hold all they need for school. Well worth the price.

This backpack has a nice 3D plastic relief picture and is very cool from a kid's perspective. However, from the parent's perspective, the quality is below expectation. There is no padding in the back at all and no real padding in the straps. This would not be easy on a little kid's back and shoulders, and my feeling is it would not last long. The canvas isn't nice to the touch and does not seem high quality. For comparison, my child wore a Disney backpack previously and the quality of that was much better. I returned the product and purchased a different one.

I wanted a backpack to lug them about to and from Palaven to help in my fight against the reapers. Unfortunately, backpacks are made on Earth, so most are developed for humans. I contacted the Shadow Broker about a fix for my dilemma. He pointed me to the Pangolin backpack, which would comfortably fit the shape of my hump. It was a bit pricey, but worth the cost. Now I can carry my Revenant, my Graal Spike Thrower, AND my Widow easily wherever I go.

After the genophage was cured, I decided to foster krogan babies. Long story! Anyway, I wanted to spare no expense for my babies. They needed a tough rucksack to carry their supplies to Pyjak hunting class. It was difficult to find a suitable bag because they were all mostly emblazoned with Hanar Montana faces which is, frankly, not befitting of an aspiring Battlemaster! This pangolin backpack is classy, fits comfortably on any hump big or small and won't get you headbutt in the cafeteria.

I spotted this bag on a little backstreet in Amsterdam a few years ago bought it for 199 Euros because I knew when I saw it how unique it is.

As a designer item, it is incredibly visually striking simply because it is meant to mimic the protective scales of the Pangolin. The bag I got from Amsterdam extends and retracts the "scales" to reveal the relatively small inner compartment, where the pouches can hold your pens, phone, etc.

I've found the bag to be somewhat impractical for daily use because I'm a commuter and having something this bulbous on your back doesn't make it easy to squeeze onto a crowded bus or train. Plus the inner compartment is limited when it comes to things of a square or rectangular nature. If you have a tablet, a book, and a pair of shoes, you're good to go. If you have a bunch of thicker text books, you'll want something without a dome.

But if you're traveling relatively light with several smaller items, this bag is perfect. It is pretty weather resistant (not completely water proof) by design, but a couple of the panels on the dome are not smooth rubber. The base of the bag (resting against your back) is padded, as are the shoulder straps, which is a nice feature. It's not a gel padding, but a thicker foam type that feels good if you load up the bag with some heft.

I've never seen another one of these bags on the street, so I'm glad I got it when/where I did. If you pick one up, know you're paying for the time spent making it, the materials, and the unique nature of the design. It's worth it!

I purchased the Cyclus Pangolin Backpack for my wife, as she had found the item a few months back and I wanted to surprise her for her birthday. She could not have been more thrilled. She absolutely loves the ingenuity of Cyclus to integrate both style and recycling used rubber that would other wise sit in a trash heap.

As for the bag itself, it really is made of good construction. The backpack holds its shape well and will protect items inside. The shoulder straps are heavily padded, which is excellent, but the size of the backpack means the bag sits more at the center of the back than at the shoulders, so much of the strap just spans the distance between your back and shoulder, rather than sitting higher on your shoulder as most backpacks do.

The size of the bag is somewhat disappointing as it does not hold a laptop, notebooks, or full-sized textbooks all that well. The back pocket in the bag is big enough to house an e-reader, but that's about it. The organizer pockets are well-designed and easily put to good use though. The space in the bag is good, and it will hold a fair amount of items, but again, smaller or folding items (jacket, lunch in a container, etc).

My wife mainly uses the bag as a work purse, containing her wallet, cell phone, e-reader, jacket, sweater for work, and her lunch, and it still has plenty of room. She is constantly getting comments and questions about how it works and where she got the bag, and how it looks like "a big armadillo," which is, of course, the point behind the design.

The bag attaches at the top with a forked clasp on the carrier's spine side of the bag. I was concerned the clasp would rub against my wife's back and be uncomfortable, but the bag naturally sits off her back at that spot, so there is no irritation.

All in all I rate this item 4/5 stars for its design and use of recycled products. I subtracted one star for its size, and how it sits at the middle of the back, rendering the padded straps mostly unused.

There is not another bag out there like it. It's slightly on the small size, but it's a cycling backpack so it should be expected. It's perfect for my tablet and composition notebooks for school. If you like comments and compliments, this bag brings them in like the plague. Half the time people don't know that it's actually a backpack. In summary: Great for meeting new people. Very Stylish. Innovative. Easy to access. Pricey, but worth it.

Ogio Hamptons Women's Tote

Ogio Hamptons Women's ToteI really want to like this tote. It is absolutely perfect EXCEPT for the fact that it doesn't actually fit a 15" laptop. I have the newest macbook pro and with the way the tote is structured to taper at the bottom, there isn't a way to get it into the sleeve horizontally. If you put the computer in vertically, about 4 inches stick out above the padding, making it pretty unusable protection-wise.

This would be a good tote for a 13" laptop or smaller.

I searched for months for the "perfect" bag to carry my stuff in (could be my laptop and/or tablet and journals and Kindle and.....). I wanted it to look professional enough to use for work without being stuffy. I wanted it to be light enough that I didn't need back surgery, not another backpack or messenger bag, something a bit feminine, not something that looked like a beach bag or diaper bag, something that could stand on the floor if possible. VOILA I found this! There are no words to say how much I LOVE IT!!!!!!

I really like this bag. I bought it to use for work and it comfortably fits my laptop, notebook, folder, water bottle, and other miscellaneous small items like pens, keys, sunglasses, etc. I have already received lots of compliments on it from colleagues! However, I would note that the polka dot lining inside the bag is also visible on the underside of the straps. Additionally, I haven't found a good use for the little side flap pockets. Too small for a phone. Otherwise, love it!

Badlands Ambush Backpack (MOBU, 11 x 12 x 6.5-Inch)

Badlands Ambush BackpackCapacity on this fanny pack is 850 cubic inches. Weight is 1 pound 8 ounces. It has six pockets: two water bottle pockets, two zippered side pockets, one zippered main cargo pocket, and one internal web pocket within the cargo pocket. Camo is Break-Up Infinity. There are no color or camo options. The pack is made in Vietnam. Warranty is unconditional lifetime.

The pack has two elastic web pockets for water bottles that Badlands says are for 26 ounce bottles. They will not hold a wide Nalgene 32 ounce bottle or a military 32 ounce canteen. They easily hold a 16 ounce blue cap Nalgene or the taller Klean Kanteen stainless steel 27 ounce (800 ml) water botttles, although the Klean Kanteen bottles are a bit top-heavy in the pocket because less than half their height is supported by the webbing. The elastic loops to secure the water bottle are sheathed by plastic tubes to resist abrasion. They will stretch enough to reach around the top of the 27 ounce Klean Kanteen bottle, and this keeps the bottle stable in the pack. These pockets will also hold a 32 ounce Poweraide sport drink bottle, which is slightly less in diameter at the bottom, and moreso in the middle, than a 32 ounce Nalgene bottle. It is not as easy when wearing the pack to get a Poweraide bottle back in a pocket because the webbing needs to strectch quite a bit to get the bottom of the bottle started in the pocket. I've hiked with all three of these options.

The cargo pocket is wide enough and tall enough to hold two military canteens, if you want, along with more cargo, although the weight of so much water and other gear might be more than you'd want to carry in a fanny pack. The Ambush is built strong enough, though, to handle the weight.

The zipper pulls are heavy duty, and the zippers seem sturdy. The plastic buckles on the hip belt also seem sturdy. The two side pockets on the hip belt are seven inches long, but they tightly follow the curve of your hips or waist, so don't expect them to hold something ridged like a long multitool or large folding knife. I carry a Brunton Classic compass upright in the forward portion of a side pocket and it fits snuggly. There are "bedroll straps" on the bottom of the pack, useful for a poncho or rain jacket, although I haven't tried using them for that.

The suspension system is first-rate. It is a comfortable pack to wear. I usually wear it so that the hip belt covers to top of my pants belt and the buckle sits right above the buckle on my pants belt. This way, my pants belt is assisting in supporting the pack. The pack is not firm and flat against my back from the top of the pack to the bottom with this method. If I hitch the pack up a bit, so there is distance between my two buckles, then the pack is firm against my back. Body types and clothing choices will vary, of course. When hiking, once I've been underway for a short while, I find myself almost unaware of the pack.

This is my first Badlands pack, and I'm impressed with the quality and good price. There are many fanny packs around the price of the Badlands Ambush, but from what I've seen this is of much higher quality than any of them.

Best belt carry pack for hiking and fishing I use it constantly and it is quite durable for sure good one!

Urban Sport Messenger Cross Body Outdoor Biking Backpack - 3 Color Options

Blue Urban Sport Polyester Multiple Compartment Messenger Cross Body Outdoor Biking BackpackI don't really know why other reviewers are claiming the zippers are so weak, they're pretty normal if compared to regular $30+ bags. I wouldn't recommend this bag for a schoolkid with the average load of textbooks that I had when I was in grade school (literally 25lbs+ of textbooks and materials daily) but otherwise this bag is perfect. I can throw my gym crap in it, my netbook, and still have room to pack snacks and drinks. The extra pockets on the front and sides allow me to keep all of my other accessories neatly tucked away. I'm using this for uni and motorcycling primarily. The strap is comfortable and adjusts easily, and the range of it is pretty big, so if you're a bigger guy or gal this would be fine for you.

After years of trial and error with nearly every brand of backpacks (local and international), I rarely deviate from buying JanSport (and sometimes Targus, REI and Colombia). This little guy seems to belong to the same category in terms of style, functionality, versatility, and durability as Colombia, although I haven't quite put it throught the stress test (heavy load for 2+ years of abusive use).

It's longer and roomier than my old Colombia sling bag, which was very typical of most sling bags in the market. Unlike the Colombia that allowed for switching the strap from one side to another, this one has a fixed strap (center at the top, to lower left on the back). Nice padding on the back, with plenty of pockets have made it my most frequently used bag on day to day basis.

I'm a 15-yr old kid and I use this for school and casual use, just carrying around some paperbacks, a journal, and maybe a hoddie. Since May (it's now August) I have been using this very often and the only thing wrong with it that I can tell is that after stuffing it so much with a hoodie, or school supplies, it has tore a tiny hole in the front pocket from the main pocket. Other than that, this thing is great and I love. Price is awesome too.

I have owned the bag for about 1 month now. I am in grad school, and need to carry folders with notes (8x11) and an iPad. I also carry some meds, some clothing items, and some food items. This bag is large enough for all that without difficulty. It got crowded with 4 folders (each about 3/4 " thick, 2 text books (about 3" total), the iPad, and gym shorts and shirt (but the zipper still closed without much effort). It seems well made so far. The shoulder pad is comfortable. There are several pockets to carry items. The small one in the front is perhaps smaller than I would like, but overall is a great bag. For the price it is exceptional unless it falls apart in a few months. I think for your average student this would be great (I was worried that it might be too small, but it is a very generous size).

Update for 5/2013.. Have been using for a couple of years now, and it has held up great. Padding on the shoulder strap is not quite as full, but I carry a lot of stuff as noted. I have also been taking my MacBook Pro 15" screen in it, and it handles the size (I can't close it all the way though), and the weight well. If they keep the build quality up, this is an easy recommendation from my standpoint.

It is a $20 bag. Definitely not bad at all but beware that it might not be built to last. After a full month of daily use (including some time wandering the streets of Tokyo) one of the dual main zippers has fallen off. I can still close it with the other zipper but must zip it the full-length. I really only needed the trip for my two week vacation, so it served its purpose. I would buy a better quality if I needed it for longer. It's large enough for my laptop and has enough pockets to be useful to carry pens, a wallet, a water bottle and more.

Trail Maker Equipment Stylish Cross Body Messenger Backpack

Purple Trail Maker Equipment Stylish Cross Body Messenger BackpackI thought it would be worse than what it is. In fact, it's way better than I expected it to be. The fabric is pretty light and could rip if you're not careful but for the price it's pretty good. It has good room and the strap doesn't seem weak. It's not high quality, but it's decent quality especially for the price. My only criticism is that because it's a light fabric it's not as sturdy as other types but it's pretty good. Has some inside pockets and good amount of room.

Victorinox Luggage Ch 97 2.0 22 Tourist

Victorinox Luggage Ch 97 2.0 22 Tourist, Purple, One SizeI recently took my first vacation daring not to check my luggage (and pay for it) and go solely carry-on. I looked at a number of bags on Amazon and chose this one. It far exceeded my expectations. It has packing space everywhere you can imagine and in fact, when I returned home and was unpacking, I found even more spots that I hadnt noticed before. I had the bag packed as full as it could be returning from my trip and really didnt think it would fit in the overhead, but, it did! The handle and wheels work wonderfully too and zip in for storage really easily. I absolutely love this bag. Five stars plus!

Three stars are for size misinformation. This looked like a great combo bag -both backpack and wheeled which is what I had been looking for. I reviewed the specifications on Amazon as well as the Victorinox site to be sure it was sized for carryon. When I received the bag, it was several inches larger than US airline limits at least 3 inches longer and 2 inches wider-without being packed with items. Although the tag on the bag also notes dimensions are carryon size, it small print is the disclaimer that size is approximate. Although the bag is appears sturdy, reliable and convenient, I returned it so as not to chance being turned away at the gate. If you don't mind checking your bag, it might do for you!

Incase Nylon Compact Backpack for MacBook Pro (CL55378)

Incase Nylon Compact Backpack for MacBook ProI love this bag. First I love the straps, very comfortable. The grey with orange accents looks great also. This would have been 5 stars except there is one pocket on the inside that's perfect for business cards, but they fall out of the pocket into the main area if the bag gets put on it's side. That's the only thing though. The bag is made from durable material and stitching is good. I do recommend it.

Deuter Wizard

Deuter WizardWe have looked for a small, comfortable backpack like this for 15 years, but have had no success. Although we've purchased several other backpacks, none of them was good. This backpack is perfect for our needs it is light, has two mesh pockets that are an ample size for water bottles, and has two small interior pockets that help with organization. It is perfect for travel because you can throw it in your suitcase and pull it out at your destination. Three members of my family have this pack, and all three of us love it.
