AmeriLeather Cosmopolitan Leather Tote

AmeriLeather Cosmopolitan Leather ToteI needed a bag to carry a computer in that would serve as a handbag as well. This bag was as advertised. I have adapted it for use as a handbag also. Good quality.

Love the bag and the side zipper compartment with sliding holders for a palm PDA and a phone or camera the bag is styles and comfortable for me. I don't have to worry about the straps sliding off. As soon as I can I will probably buy another one. Five stars all the way.

The type of leather was different than I had perceived it to be from the picture but it's still a good bag and I like it.

The design of this bag is fabulous. I love the front pocket, it's like having a separate bag. It looks sturdy, the inside seems sturdy too, the size is just right, the big compartment is, well, big.

BUT

The thing smells! My 4 year-old son decreed after holding my new bag for 5 minutes. " Mom, it smells like a farm." And he is right. I don't know what they used and what I can do to get rid of that smell. I kept the thing out in the cold, inside in the heat, sprayed Chanel perfume inside. Nothing works. My office reeks like I have a cow hidden in there. It's quite embarrassing, really. I'd be tempted to return it but the price was great and I really like the design and functionality. What to do about the stench???

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my mother, and I expected the bag to be made of leather, as the description says "cowhide leather."

It feels like cheap plastic leather, there is no way that this bag is made of genuine leather.

It does, however, have all the pockets described and is the perfect size for a school bag.... I just wish I would have know it would feel so cheap in real life.

Tim Burton's the Nightmare Before Christmas - Full Size Messenger Bag - Skull Head

Tim Burton's the Nightmare Before Christmas - Full Size Messenger Bag - Skull HeadMy daughter loves Jack Skeleton, so this bag was perfect for her. She uses it for school and has no problem fitting all of her books and folders. It has two small side pockets and then one large inside space that zips up so nothing falls out. Very stylish and cool bag.

This is the cutest messenger bag I have been able to find for my 2 yr old. I got this for his diaper bag so I could find something more grown up for him. A lot of the diaper bags you find seem to babyish, and he is getting older now and needed something more manly....LOL |It's got a ton of room and is made really well.

Hideo Wakamatsu Body III Ninja 3 Pocket Khaki

Hideo Wakamatsu Body III Ninja 3 Pocket Khakiit's great! the bag is a bit difficult to get into once it's strapped to your back but I am totally fine w/ that. the entire thing folds open once you slide the main strap's velcro closure apart.

I like it. Makes me feel like a stylish commando. (I am obviously a girl.)

Disney Four Princesses - Princess and the Frog Cinderella Belle Sleeping Beauty - Large Backpack

Disney Four Princesses - Princess and the Frog Cinderella Belle Sleeping Beauty - Large BackpackThis is a good back pack for my petite 5-year-old. It's big on her, but fits her folders/binders (and every other Kindergartener has a big back pack). Her previous toddler size back pack was too small for binders. The image is great and looks like it will last. However, the handle on top pulled away from the stitching on the first day of school.

My daughter was happy to receive this bag as her school bag but within two months the bag fell apart. At first the zipper on the face of the bag gave way and so, she couldn't use that to hold her snack packs. We couldn't fix it either because the zipper was fastened into the inner area of the bag. Today, the top zipper gave way and now, it is ready for the dumps!

In all, the bag lasted only 2 months of her using it for school. It is a pretty piece but the zippers need fixing. The bag is well assembled of course but something is grossly wrong with the zippers is it because it is machine made? I have no idea but I am done buying the Disney bags. I told her she has to have something American made to last for her current school year. No more Chinese made school bags...

Kids Kindergarten Children Backpack / School Bag / Day Pack

14' Kids Kindergarten Children Backpack / School Bag / Day PackI purchased this backpack for a kindergartener whose teacher places homework and notes for home in a 12 3/8" x 9 ½" folder. The Amazon listing states that this backpack measures 14"x11"x6" and it was chosen specifically because it was large enough to hold the school folder.

When the folder clearly did not fit in the backpack my husband, an engineer, measured it. The length of the backpack down the center is 13 3/4", not 14", and the length on the sides measures a scant 12". The width at the bottom of the backpack measures 9 1/4", not 11", and the width along the top of the backpack is only 7 3/4".

I gave the backpack two stars because it is well made of quality materials.

Otium 21109AMG Leisure Canvas Genuine Leather Bagpack Backpack, Army Green

Otium 21109AMG Leisure Canvas Genuine Leather Bagpack Backpack, Army GreenI ordered this bag for my son. He has an odd day/even day schedule at his high school, so he needed an extra bag to use on those days that his schedule was light. This bag is fashionable and eye-catching. It's made from a durable canvas material (I ordered the bag in army green), with some nice brown leather accents and adjustable straps.

Now, my only warning or a negative, and I will use that word loosely. I am not sure if I would recommend this bag to someone who has to carry several large or heavy books, but it is perfect for spiral notebooks, composition books, lab books and an IPAD, or other essentials. There is a large pocket on the inside that is perfect for securing an IPOD, cell phone, pens, keys, etc.. My son really likes his bag and has received several compliments on it. I highly recommend it.

So far so good. This was exactly what I was expecting when I bought it, if not even a little higher quality. The bag is really comfortable and holds quite a bit of stuff (macbook, folders, the usual). I use it every-day, no issues (though the zipper can get caught on the turns sometimes), and I still get compliments on it which is always nice.

Pros: Comfortable

Cons: Rain? Dunno, haven't had anything major go wrong yet.

The zipper broke after 2 days of use. And at 5'4", the straps are way too long even though I have them at the shortest notch. It's cute, but at this price the quality should be much better.

Samsonite Luggage Dowel Flapover Business Case

Samsonite Luggage Dowel Flapover Business Case, Tan, One SizeI bought this bag and returned immediately. Despite the brand name, the quality of the bag is not very good. Looks really cheap and smells really bad.

It looks like it can hold 15.6" wide laptop and has enough room for stuffs but that's all. You will get what you paid for.

SwissGear SA1591 Silver Grey and Dark Gray Laptop Bag fits up to 15.6" Laptops

SwissGear SA1591 Silver Grey and Dark Gray Laptop Bag fits up to 15.6' LaptopsI bought this backback when my other college backpack broke. I was looking for something that could fit my heavy science textbooks in with my laptop, without damaging the backpack, the contents, or both. This backpack does the trick!

I'll start with the one negative thing I have to say. The side pockets have a drawstring to help secure the content, but the strap on one of the drawstrings has already broken. It's not that much of a problem for me, as I can simply store my waterbottle on the other side, but the strap probably should have been sturdier.

That said, it is the most spacious backpack I have ever owned for school, allowing me to fit the equivalent volume of three textbooks and my 17" laptop without the threat of breaking the zipper and without impacting the space in the three smaller pockets. The design of the straps also seems to reduce the pressure on what is usually the weakest part of the strap, the part that is sewn to the top of the backpack, so I expect the straps to last a long time. Finally, it's comfortable to wear. There is a lot of padding on the back of the backpack, as well as a small padded pouch that fits into the small of my back. Its design is well thought-out and the construction is, in almost all cases, top-of-the-line.

This backpack is well constructed and quite roomy. It fits my laptop just fine with plenty of space for accessories. It has made a big difference already in my ability to pack up quickly, relocate, and have everything I need at my fingertips. It has also relieved some of the back/shoulder strain my traditional laptop bag was causing.

Buy SwissGear SA1591 Silver Grey and Dark Gray Laptop Bag fits up to 15.6" Laptops Now

I am quite satisfied with this backpack. There is ample room in the padded pocket for my 15.6" laptop. And the front pocket is roomy -plenty of room for books, files, etc. The only thing really missing is a practical dedicated pocket for the AC cord/adapter. Other than that, this is a good product, exactly what I was looking for in a laptop backpack.

This backpack has been fantastic with a few exceptions.

1.) The Airflow on the back leaves much desired.

Airflow was a new thing for me, so I was eager to test it out. I was looking forward to feeling a slight breeze whilst walking briskly to class, but not so much. A brisk walk wasn't enough for said airflow so I stepped up my game to an Olympic Power Walk style (google it! great stuff!). Still, no drafty breeze flowing through the "airflow" cavities. Left feeling rather lugubrious, I gave the backpack one more chance to deliver on the "ariflow." I though a sprint would surely create a slight breeze...yeah, no. Instead, all I got was a shoulder rash from attempting to "feel the breeze." The rash went away quickly and has not come back, in part due to no longer attempting to achieve MAXIMUM AIRFLOW.

Question is if I had a Three Wolf Moon Shirt, would airflow be present? Challenge accepted!

2.) Them stretchy tightener thingys for the drink pockets broke with ease. First, my dog chewed up the one side and I tried to fit a 2 liter in the other side. No dice. They do fit a Nalagene bottle quite well though. You can also hide snacks in there for easy access if using one of the many pockets is too much work. Beware when trying to use them stretchy tightener thingys though, use gently or they will break.

Overall, I am very pleased with this piece of modern engineering. The craftsmanship is very nice. It holds the 30lb load shared between textbooks, laptop and all the other gadgets I dont really need, but must have on board with ease. Its comfortable too!

4 outa 5 stars for me.

We purchased the bag because of the strength of material and construction. My husband is pretty rough with his backpacks (he seems to kill the zippers in all of them!!). He uses this bag daily and he is happy with it. And incredibly, I'm happy to report that all zippers and still working perfectly. One of the straps broke early on but other than that, great bag.

Kelty Lark 23-Liter Daypack

Kelty Lark 23-Liter DaypackI have a Kelty Redwing 3100 that I absolutely love. However, I was looking for something lighter for art school and was excited to see the Kelty Vintage line. The Lark is an excellent backpack, and it's too bad they don't show you more pictures other than just the front of the backpack. The internal organizer is really handy and there is also a slot on the back side of the backpack for putting something in as well. The pack is definitely made with great care and quality. The size of the pack is just right. Not too small nor is it too big. The front pocket is also very roomy as well. Definitely worth picking up if you're looking for a backpack that's light and able to hold your laptop, with room to spare for other items of interest.

Kidorable Space Hero Backpack

Kidorable Space Hero BackpackI ordered this backpack for my son who goes to daycare, it is the perfect size for him! He is about 32" tall and around 23lbs. I pack his water bottle, a snack box, a small toy, a book, and his stuffed animal and there is still extra room for two diapers and wipes if we're not taking along the diaper bag. This cannot be a school backpack, you won't be able to pack a notebook and a lunch box inside of it.

He LOVES his backpack and was so excited to find out it was for him when the package arrived and we opened it. The alien on the zipper adds a perfect touch and I'm also happy it is water proof. The only negative is that the inside is lined with some type of cheap muslin or gauze that seems as if it may rip at the seams.

ecogear Fjord Messenger Bag

ecogear Fjord Messenger BagI bought the gray bag to use on my commute to clinical rotations at a hospital. I take the train so I needed something secure, lightweight and not too large. This bag fits the bill perfectly. The back has a padded, zippered compartment for a laptop, but I use that area for my 1.5" storage clipboard and 2 folders with study materials. The front pouch compartment holds my makeup bag, wallet, kindle, phone and snacks and still has quite a bit of room left over. The strap is very long (a good thing) and the strap pad is removable, which is nice when you are adjusting the strap. I predict that this bag will get more use than just commuting -I may buy the pink just to give myself options!

Full Size Pink and Turquoise Ariel Rolling Backpack - Little Mermaid Luggage with Wheels

Full Size Pink and Turquoise Ariel Rolling Backpack - Little Mermaid Luggage with WheelsI really love this rolling backpack! It is very cute and It is the perfect size for my daughter (16 months) to roll around on her own and I am sure she is going to LOVE filling it with toys when we prepare for our trip next weekend.

I gave 4 stars because although it is a wonderful product (From what I can tell so far). It does seem a bit small for a "Full Sized" backpack. We cannot fit her diapers, wipes, and clothing for a few days trip in it, but No matter. My daughter loves it and that is what's important.

Duluth Pack Scout Pack Backpack

Duluth Pack Scout Pack Backpack Waxed - One SizeI've been using my black scout pack for about three weeks, mostly for walking and taking public transit to work, and exploring the city on the weekends. I love this pack.

I usually carry my 14" laptop, charger, day planner, my Klip It 3 Compartment Lunch Cube, a pad of paper, and a pouch for meds in the main compartment; the rest of my small items go in the zippered pocket. With all of this, it's moderately full (i.e. closes on the middle buckle hole), but it's mostly because of the lunch cube's height. WIthout that, I can easily pack a change of clothes for the gym (not shoes). If you pack lightly, you might even be able to use this as a weekend bag (without a laptop inside probably).

Pros:

-One thing I was surprised at was how low it sits on your back even on the tightest buckle setting. It feels balanced just fine; I guess I was just used to cranking my old backpack straps way tight so the pack hung nearer to my shoulders. The pack's cotton webbing straps are very comfortable.

-The canvas is heavy and rugged, and the leather straps, once stiff out of the box, are now becoming supple and easier to get in and out of the buckles.

-This holds a surprising amount for when I need it to, but is small and sleek enough for all the rest of the time. This is key because I didn't want a backpack that made me look like a turtle or was going to knock people over while I commute on the train. The size is perfect without giving me too much space to needlessly fill.

-Minimalist design looks great to me.

Cons:

-Extremely simple internal organization, and no external organization. This will most likely be the determining factor on if you like this pack or not. A lot of people need a home for every gadget they need to carry, and this pack won't do that for you.

-Unstructured pack consequently doesn't hold its shape if you don't have much in the pack to give it structure, nor will it stay open when you lay it on a surface, like a lot of other bags will.

-The bottom of the zippered pocket doesn't hit the bottom of the pack. Because of this, I noticed that if you put too much heavy stuff in the zippered pocket and you don't have something inside the main compartment to give the pack some structure, it will weigh the pocket and the back of the pack down. This looks a little slouchy.

-The opposite extreme is if I pack the bag to close to its max carrying capacity or pack it with bulky items. In this case, if I have too much in the zip pocket, I can't slide that last thing in because of depth clearance issues. However, the saving grace is that the pocket flips to the outside of the pack, which frees up the depth clearance. Then you can load the last items, then flip the zip pocket back into the pack where it rests on top of everything else. The lid then straps down nice and snug.

-VERY MINOR: black canvas, I just found out, attracts lighter colored lint and it can show it fairly easily. I take a lint roller perhaps once a week, and it solves this problem.

Overall, the cons are minor when comparing the pros, which are great build quality, minimalist styling, and a design that keeps you from looking like a turtle. If you need a simple pack that you can take anywhere for fairly light excursions, then you will not be disappointed with the Scout Pack. Two thumbs way up.

First off, I've been very happy overall with my Duluth Pack. It hasn't given me any serious difficulties and has over all been incredibly useful. There are a few outstanding features:

1. Great canvas and leather construction. I can swing this thing around and throw it on the ground and kick it, and there is no problem with integrity. So far I have taken it to school full of books all semester, and then to a convention, and used it for everything from board games to boots and it's held up fantastically.

2. Tied to that, it's very easy to clean. Just use a damp cloth or even a light scrub brush like a nail brush for flecks of mud. The canvas is nice and sturdy and holds up well and doesn't discolor.

3. It's very understated if you get a neutral. I got this pack partly because I saw one of my fellow teachers carrying around one of those sporty looking mesh backpacks and thought, secretly, that it looked pretty unprofessional. Handcarrying a briefcase is almost impossible when one of your textbooks weighs about 10 pounds, so a backpack is necessary but I really prefer this rugged, grown up looking pack to the neon and polyester variety.

4. It's very secure. You can zip your wallet right into the little interior pocket, buckle the straps and nothing will fall out. Heck, even if you don't buckle the straps, as long as it isn't stuffed, you're in pretty good shape. I like the somewhat deconstructed style here, not super boxy, but it really doesn't just collapse like a sack either.

In terms of issues with the bag, I have three. One is that one of my straps didn't have the leather properly and completely treated, so it had ripples and irregularities. Not really worth fussing over, but noted. Secondly, the back straps are initially QUITE long and you will have to either take them to a cobbler and have them trimmed or do it yourself. I did it myself and so far no issues, but I'm keeping an eye on them. Lastly, and not really a fault of the bag, but as a black canvas it does attract some light colored lint. Lint roller generally does the trick but you have to be pretty consistent if you want a nice clean presentation. On the other hand my black cat's fur doesn't show up at all, so win some, lose some.

I would definitely get this backpack again if given the choice. I will update this review after a year or so and note whether or not it holds up.

Duluth has poor customer service! When I ordered a scout pack, the rivets broke in less than a week. I put in an order to have a different bag sent. However, they sent this rotten scout pack back to me, despite that I did not want it. They made some excuses about how the orders on the computer do not connect with the packages that come to their warehouse. Then Duluth went on to say how that it was was my fault and they were innocent for blindly sending this bag back to me, when in fact a rep by the name of Kaci did not follow through with the subsequent order and ignored my request.

Dakine 31-Litre Network Pack

Dakine 31-Litre Network PackThis backpack is much bigger than it appears and it has a pocket for everything! I use it to take my laptop to work daily as well as carry documents and other things for travel. There are some great pouches inside for storing your power cables and wireless mouse. Also I dont need my neoprene laptop sleeve anymore since the padded laptop compartment is very protective and soft. My 15.6" Acer fits in there like a glove! Recently I went trough security and it was really easy to pull out my laptop for the x-ray machine and access my passport in the outer pocket. It was very comfortable carrying a heavy load around the airport while waiting for my flight to board as well. This is due to the nice padding on the straps and back of the backpack. On style, I think the carbon fabric looks great. It has a nice contemporary look that is not so skater like the other patterns. The material is very durable and it has ykk zippers which are the best quality. Highly recommended.

Used for camping and work in the office.

Very good size to carry my lunch along with my laptop for work.

Best backpack BY FAR that I have seen. Terrific quality. Smart design with lots of useful storage options, from small zip mesh pockets inside to the semi-concealed front zip pocket outside that is perfect for travel docs and the excellent cup holds on both sides. Also I love the sunglass pocket on top. Wears well and cool, due to the design so that it's not smashed up against your entire back length (allows air to breathe a bit). Great lumbar rest and shoulder support. I used it for a 3 day trip to Istanbul and could have probably gotten a week's travel out of it, despite the moderate bag size. I wouldn't look at any other bag!

Tenba ShootoutTM Backpack - Large Rolling

Tenba 632-333 Shootout Large Backpack with WheelsFirst of all, I bought this bag because the price was considerably below comperable rolling photo bags. I believe I paid a bit over $200, compared to over $300 for its competitors. It is a great bag, no doubt. When my gear is in it, I know that it's all well protected, from my Nikon D200 to my largest lens, a Tamron 200-500mm. There is room for my additional lenses, and all the rest of the stuff I drag around, except my tripod, which I put into my luggage when I travel. In fact, I bought it specifically for pulling around airports, because carrying all my photo gear was getting really old (maybe it's just me getting old....) Which leads to the issues:

1. As a carry-on, be warned. This will fit in the overhead bin, but ONLY if you open up the back where the backpack straps are stored, and lay it out flat. Otherwise, it just won't make it. It's a tight fit, but it's do-able. I've flown four times since I purchased this, so I know from experience. But, filled with gear, it's also too heavy, so I always have to rely on some strong man to do the man thing and get this sucker up there. Goddess forbid I'm told that I have to put it in with the luggage. I'd rather not fly.

2. The single post puller feels a bit weak, and it can tend to roll the bag if your not careful. It did roll a few times for me, but now that I know it has the tendency, I am careful going around corners, etc. As for being weak, it's really not, I don't think. It works, telescopes, etc. just fine. It's never felt like it was going to put loose or break.

3. The laptop slot is miserably tight. It invariably breaks my fingernails as I rush to remove the laptop when I'm at airport security. It's tight, but it protects the computer very well. In fact, there is room in the bag itself to keep the laptop necessities while traveling, including the power cord and the mouse.

4. For the life of me, I cannot imagine using this bag as a backpack. It's heavy in its own right. And, its big. In fact, I just may remove the backpack straps altogether, to avoid overhead storage issues. In fact, when I'm not traveling, it's a great storage device for gear that I'm not bringing with me on specific shoots.

Other than these four issues, it's a really nice bag. It's well built, and the zipper system is really nice. It has these rubber closures that fit well over the zipper as you zip it up. It's well padded. It's spacious. It's a nice bag. But, having said that, if I had an extra $200 on top of what this cost, I'd rather buy a Pelican or a Think Tank airline bag. As I said up front, it was a money issue. I'm not disappointed.

Hope this all helps. :-)

Rollerblade wheels

Full Backpack with padded straps and even some lumbar padding.

Holds 2 camera bodies with grips, 8-10 lenses, flash, and even capacity to hold a full sized Manfrotto Tripod.

Weather wrap

Weather proof zippers

15-17 inch Laptop case

Solid construction retractable handle

Side access pockets that gives you access to the main compartment

Detachable CF card wallet

And instantly converts to a standard carry-on luggage bag by a removable shell.

This is a well-engineered bag with a lot of flexibility built in. The laptop sits snugly and securely behind the handle plate mechanism so your back never makes contact with the lap top. The compartments offer a spacious configuration with very easy to access side compartments. The compartments come out in single removable shell, allowing you to convert this camera bag into an airline luggage bag in mere seconds. The construction is solid and the handle slides out with smooth precision.

The outer panel folds out to a handy tripod holder that permits you to carry small travel tripods to large tripods (like the Manfrottos). You can convert this roller bag into a hiking backpackby unzipping panel to reveal the straps. Tenba cleverly engineered this flap to cover the luggage wheels so it never soils your clothing then lugging the pack on your back. The lumbar padding is minimal. The backpack straps do have a waist strap and a chest strap for extended hiking.

There's an all weather wrap included in the pack. Also there's weather resistant zippers that seal the compartment against rain.

The case fits perfectly on the airline overhead compartment. Rolls nicely through airports.

A free CF card wallet with a tethered leash is provided on one of the side access pockets.

Overall, this bag gets high marks from me.

Advantages:

Well Built

Lots of features

Versatile and solid construction

Lots of capacity

Disadvantages:

Lumbar padding is minimal

Limited color choices.

Bottom line:

This product is an outstanding example of blending the two worlds of digital photography and digital imaging into one incredibly practical rolling unit that held everything I wanted to take to Mexico for taking and processing images. I can't tell you everything this backpack has or can do. It would take more than I wish to type. Suffice it to say that for both the professional and amateur photographer who wants a package that can hold it all (including laptop and all accessories), protect everything, take on or off the road and be incredibly accessible, this is the unit for you. I love it.

Recently completed a "cruise tour" to Alaska. Wanting a larger bag to accomodate my gear, I settled upon Tenba's "Shootout" LARGE Rolling Backpack.

Other reveiws will give you the specs on this case. It is big. Very big. However, its design creates some limitations or room for improvement.

The bag is very well built. I carried two Canon DSLR bodies, a vertical control grip, four lenses (Tamron 28-300 "walkabout", Canon 100-400 L, 16-35L and a Sigma 150mm 2.8 macro), an EX 550 flash, 2x extender, a Wolverine 100gb storge unit and the usual accessories and cables. For computing, a HP 9000 series 17" notebook. All this tipped the scale at 43 lbs. Toss in the Manfrotto and its 48 back breaking pounds.

As the airlines are getting really fussy on what you can bring along, I wanted a bag to accomodate all my gear knowing upon arrival in hotels, onboard, etc. I could park gear not needed.

While the bag is as large as a weekender suitcase, it did fit in the overhead bin without having to open up and spread out the backpack harness. However, this was on a 737-400 series and no way it would fit in a regional carrier's overhead.

The "pouch" design for the tripod I found to be unique, but I opted to just strap it to the side of the bag and keep the pouch closed during airport/hotel/ship navigation. In the field it would probably work out just fine.

Although massive in size, the actual camera/equipment storage area was a bit dissapointing. The pockets are 5.5 inches deep. My 5d with vertical grip and tripod mount attached is 6 inches. The top of the bag will close, but the top of the camera pushes up hard against the padding creating an impact point. Removing the tripod mount, it's a nice snug fit. Take off the grip, and a good inch to spare.

The single pull handle feels a bit wobbly, but performs well. Extended, it curves forward an inch or so. Not much, but this allows the bag to remain more vertical when being pulled. Drawback: the more vertical the bag, the more it skips and twists. The lower you hold the handle, the more stable the bag is when being pulled. I'd suggest to Tenba to reverse the handle to tip it just a bit more forward to increase stability.

I couldn't get a straight answer from Tenba whether a HP 17" notebook would fit into the medium bag, so I opted for the large. The HP weighs a more than hefty 8 lbs. I didn't take into account, when closed, the rear side is larger than the front. Where an Apple is thin, the HP is thick and the fit is snug. Very snug. It did loosen up a bit after a few days. The pocket is deep enough for the HP AND the power supply. Just make sure to coil the cord around the PS to prevent direct contact. There's still enough room to stick a wallet inside.

The wheel assembly and notebook pocket take up half the 10-11 inch depth of the entire bag. Suggestion to Tenba: Use double frame rails and position the notebook pocket between them. Would give the unit a slightly wider and more stable wheelbase, great protection and provide about 3 more inches of depth inside the bag for gear. This allows more lenses to be carried on end vs. being laid flat.

For the little things, there is a flat storage compartment inside the lid. It's a flat pocket. Period. Good for things like manuals or anything also flat. There are a couple of elastic loops for a lens brush, etc. but the "peanut" shaped lid wraps down a bit so best for short items.

The included tethered cases, one for memory cards and one for a slim cellphone are great.

These are inside the two external accesible compartments on either side of the bag at the base. Very slick feature, you can keep your favorite smaller lens in the bottom of the bag and pull it out through the compartment. No need to open the bag to get to them. This is a great feature. These compartments are also great for storage of small items. However, in reach for a lens, you have to dig through and perhaps drop anything in the way. If you want to change lenses fast, almost a certainty you're better off keep the compartment empty.

Overall, the bag is very large and well built. Once I loaded it up and used the harness, I quickly realized how HEAVY it was, and how quickly I'd drop lugging it around.

Through the airport, to hotels, onboard ship....it's perfect being pulled around. To use in the field, take along just what you really need to keep the weight down. Or do like I did and bring along my photo vest for field work.

It's a good bag/backpack. Extremely well built and very underated. Balance out your need. If rolling capability isn't that important, go for the non rolling bag and pick up an external rolling setup.

After reading the reviews on Amazon and other sites I was very excited for the arrival of my Tenba Backpack. Then I saw it. Holy cow. I am 6'0" and weigh about 190lbs. Wearing this bag as a backpack looked ridiculous. Here are the reasons why I am sending this bag back:

1 Too big to be backpack. Simply not a useful way to carry it. The depth of the bag is 13 inches. It is like carrying a suitcase on your back.

2 Not enough space. I currently own a small Canon backpack and after transferring all of my gear into the Tenba, I only had room for a couple more lenses. What is unbelievable is that the Tenba is 3X the size of my Canon backpack.

3 Not enough pockets. I want to keep things organized and on my Canon backpack I have side pockets, two front pockets, and then inside I have the organizational compartments and two flat pocksts. The Tenba has fewer pockets. It is missing any usable front pockets which are what you need when you travel to stick in travel documents, a book, ipod, etc.

4 Pockets are tight. I was barely able to squeeze my 13" MacBook into the laptop compartment and I was unable to get a book in there as well. It was difficult to pull the laptop out again and would definitly struggle with it in the airport security line.

5 Zippers are tough to open. The zippers are cool since they completely seal, but they are not easy to open. Part of this is the path that they need to travel which is an S curve so you can't get any momentum.

6 Hard to get the handle out. The handle tucks away too nicely and like all of the other pockets, it is hard to pull it out when you need it, especially when the bag is packed full.

7 Waist Band not removeable. Since you are only going to want to use the backpack function is rare moments that it is too difficult to roll, you really don't need the THICK waist band. Unfortunately, once you access the shoulder straps the band flaps around and cannot be stowed away.

8 No side handle. Since this bag is basically a suitcase, I would expect to be able to grab it from both the top and the side. Unfortunately there are no handles on the sides.

9 Wasted space. I pulled out the entire organized camera compartment and removed the back cover. I got to a hidden section that has two thick pads and the bar for the pull handle. THIS IS WHERE THE SPACE WENT. This was about 2" wasted space along the entire length of the bag.

10 Main compartment too deep. Another place where space is lost is in the main compartment. When I put my SLR body in the bag there is still about 2" on top of it. Now am not going to put something on it or below it, so again this is wasted space. I found that in order to truly fill one of the slots I had to put multiple items on top of eachother.

Overall, the bag is cool and obviously a lot of thought has gone into it. But really they should ditch the whole backpack concept and just use the wheels. Also, I saw a bag that had a low profile options for the main section compartments. This allows you to lay your laptop on top of the gear.
