Piel Leather Drawstring Laptop Backpack - Saddle

I have had this bag for a week and enjoy it a lot. The bag looks very nice and is much more comfortable than some of my previous backpacks. I gave it a four star rating because I am really happy with it. I would have given it a five star rating, but it is a little expensive and there are some minor things they could have done better...

At first, I was worried it would not be comfortable because the straps are thin and I tend to have a bit of weight in the back pack; but this is not the case and it is very comfortable, even with a loaded bag. Visually, it looks outstanding and is made of high-quality leather. It will fit my macbook pro, but just by a pinch. I would not mind having the bag another inch or two taller. I also would like to see more padding at the bottom of the bag. The bag is designed to carry a laptop and should contain the appropriate amount of padding at the bottom. I've set the bag down a few times and have heard the "thunk" sound. Another mild complaint about the bag is that there isn't enough pockets. The two on the front of the bag are fairly roomy and function very well, but I would have liked to see a side pocket (for a cell phone) and another pocket inside (there is one pocket inside). I am a little bothered by the top flap because it isn't wide enough to cover the opening when the bag is full. However, from a style perspective, it might not look as nice if it had a wide flap...

In summary, I really like this bag and would buy it again (but I would never buy the same bag twice)... Sure, it has a few things that could have been done better, but it seems like a really durable bag and is quite comfortable to carry around, one strap or two!

I have a lot of gadgets, there I admitted it, that is the first step to recovery right? I don't think there is a GA (Gadgets Anonymous) yet is there? Ok, after carrying my tablets and laptop in a backpack I got free at a conference for awhile, I started to notice a few things. My tablets were getting scratched up some, and the weight would shift a lot in my backpack making it hard on my back or just keeping the backpack in a good comfortable position on my back. This backpack changes all that. It has a lot of compartments for tablets, that are protected and organized. Two of the main compartments (Laptop and front tablet pouch) are lined with fur that is soft and sure to protect. There are compartments for your phone, or camera, chargers, stylus or pens, etc. It has three main access points or zipper points you can access. This really helps keep your items organized and protected. It should keep your gadgets cool, scratched proof, and did I mention it's a waterproof bag? Also, it looks stylish. I've had about 5 tablets and a laptop in this and the weight is balanced just right, I hardly notice the weight on my back and it does not shift on me. So I give this a thumbs up for anyone who has a lot of gadgets, travels, totes to class, etc. You could wear this on your bike or motorcycle if need be. Bottom line is you get what you pay for and $99 for this to protect gadgets you pay hundreds to thousands for is a worthy investment. What are you waiting for? Protect your stuff and your back!

The backpack looks like not fashionable.

But, it really can protect your computer and other stuff.

BTW, the price is acceptable.

At last I'm going to write review of New Coated Backpack after 4 months use.

The very first impression was "Wow", nice backpack, cool shell and pockets for laptop and tablet.

It has nice, soft breathable back. But I haven't used it during Summer yet.

Later I start to use it and here where problems started for me. I put inside: MacBook Pro 15", charger, iPad, wallet. few pens, pack with insurance and discount cards (4-6) and lunch box. When I was going to pass to underground I opened small compartment to get wallet and couldn't close it with ease like when it's empty. Top shell was bending and sides also.

So on the fly it's really annoying to get something from backpack and then close it while keeping the handle (even without MacBook inside minus 2 kilo). Top of the shell bends, like there is no any plastic details which handle shape of backpack.

I have another backpack and it has really hard plastic that holds its shape.

I was disappointed with this case and I think I wouldn't buy it if I knew such cons.

I watched youtube videos and read other reviews which come later, they all has such feature… Maybe it's okay for other people which just pack it at home and go to work without taking anything out of the bag on the way.

Pluses: waterproof shell, a lot of pockets, good protection from scratching and maybe from drop, nice and easy to carry, easy to clean inside and outside.

So my proposal for Spigen: made a research with shell materials and discover some lightweight and strength plastic for top and sides of backpack.

Ossington Mercer Canvas Backpack

I've had this backpack for almost a year, so maybe I shouldn't complain too much, but the strap is slowly becoming detached from the body of the bag which is really a shame because I'm very fond of this bag. It's just poor stitching. Other than that, the bag has held up well, and the design, in both the way it looks and in function, is quite beautiful in its simplicity. There's an open pocket on the inside that's perfect for an iPad too.

Green Frog Kids Backpack

I bought this on myHabit, which I highly suggest if you have kids you check out on a regular or semi-regular basis as it has some terrific buys. Our daughter is going on 17 months and this was a great buy for her. First the main compartment is roomy than I expected. You can fit a good amount of stuff inside. It also has a very soft lining. The outside pocket can hold a few items and has the same soft lining.

They did the eyes on top and feet well. They add a nice whimsical touch. Another huge plus is that the straps are very easy to adjust. Which is good because you can make them a little too big so that getting the backpack on is an easy and fun process and then cinch them a little tighter. Finally the attached frog doll can swing around to the front for some added interest and fun. The only downside was a couple of loose threads. But the overall build quality is very good. Nice first packback and it would hold a good amount of stuff. Fun way to stay more organized on outings and playdates. While also letting your little one shoulder some of the burdern in a comfortable and fun way.

Rockland Luggage 19 Inch Tote Bag

I had originally purchased this bag (except that it is the black and white plaid design one) in late March 2011. I had left a positive review here on Amazon under that particular bag, but now I have run into a problem with the bag, and Amazon will not let me edit my review as they are not selling the design that I purchased at the moment. Therefore, although the design of this one is different, the brand, size, and features (two front pockets, two side pockets) are all the same as the one I have, so I felt compelled to write another review and let fellow Amazon buyers know my issue with Rockland.

As I noted previously, I purchased the duffle bag in late March 2011. I thought the bag was great, as all aspects of the bag seemed to be sturdy. However, no more than 6-8 uses, and less than one year later (on March 13, 2012), I was packing for a trip. I had eight shirts in the bag, went to pick it up to put my curling iron in it, and I heard a tear! Upon further inspection of the bag, I noticed that it had tore at the seam on the left side (a good size tear, I would say about 5-6 inches maybe). I went to the store and bought another bag for my trip, since I was in a hurry, I didn't have time to shop around for one that was comparable to the size of the Rockland duffle bag that had tore, but I thought "I'll suck it up and use the new one now even though its much smaller, and deal with the torn one when I get home, it has a warranty".

When I got home, I decided to try and take care of the problem, no big deal, right? WRONG! I contacted "Fox Luggage" (apparently the makers of Rockland), and they emailed me the warranty claim form. On the form, it noted that I had to send them the bag back so they could "inspect it" and ensure that it would be convered under warranty, along with $25 for handling. Well, I didn't expect them to ship me a new one without seeing what had happened to the one I had, and I didn't expect that they would ship me out another one for free either, but I thought $25 was outrageous seeing as to how the bag costed me $20 here on Amazon last year, and the same exact one that I have is on clearance at Target for $14.44 (as of 4/3/12)! I emailed them again and told them that such a warranty would only benefit someone who purchased one of their more "higher priced" luggage sets, and it would do me, or anyone else that had purchased this duffle bag (or even the one with wheels) no good. It wasn't surprising that I never heard back from them.

Now normally, I am NOT the type of consumer to "complain", (particularly for a $20 product that I can now purchase for $14), but I was very disappointed in the way Fox Luggage handled this. The bag that I have has NEVER seen an airport, bus or train station, it has only seen the trunk of my car (6-8 times as noted previously). It still looks BRAND NEW (except for the tear on the side), and even smells brand new! Had I got a couple of years use out of it, and at least another 6-8 uses, I probably wouldn't be here, but I feel that I totally got ripped off, and their customer service was not very good either. So much for the compliments on my bag, I wonder how many I will get now that I tell everyone that Rockland (Fox Luggage) was so unhelpful.

In closing, I truly wish companies would not boast about their "warranty" unless they are willing to [fairly] follow through with it for each customer who purchased their product. Regardless of whether the bag was $500 or $14, it's only fair that the company ensure that regardless of how much each customer spent on their product, they have a fair opportunity to make use of the warranty that is given should they need to. But, I guess according to Fox Luggage (Rockland), only those who purchase higher priced products are worthy of being able to fairly take advantage of their warranty-what a shame. I will never purchase another Fox Luggage product again, and I will be sure to share my personal experience and opinions about Fox Luggage (Rockland) to anyone who is willing to listen. I went ahead and purchased the same bag again from Target for $14, but I will be returning it tomorrow as I will not knowingly support a company that makes a 3 year warranty one of their major selling points, and instead uses it to disadvantage its consumers a second time.

I purchased this as a Christmas gift. Cute bag, however, After only ONE use, the bag start too pull away from the zipped. No worries right because it has a three year warranty right. WRONG! THERE IS A $25 S/H charge. The bag was only $17.

this luggage is awesome. its a good size for a 2-4 day trip, lots of pockets to put smaller stuff in. the color pink was a little darker that i was expecting, not to darker so dont worry about the color. there was one thing that did not see on the bag was on the over the shoulder strap, there was no little shoulder padding thing. BUTTT!! no big deal i just thought it was funny that they didnt have one, overall tote is AWESOME and would buy it again.

Briggs & Riley Luggage Compact Byte Brief

I spent a lot of time carefully searching for a professional-looking, well-constructed, light-weight, black nylon briefcase/laptop bag for my 13" laptop, and when I came upon this item, I knew it was exactly what I was looking for. I had also looked at bags from Tumi, but most of their bags were in the $350-$500 range, and despite being more expensive, were heavier at least 1.5 lb heavier and not as sleek as this item. I had also previously reviewed a 13" bag from RooCase, which is much less expensive (~$30) which I liked for the price. However, this bag looks far nicer, has a lifetime warranty, and I think it was time for the upgrade, given an upcoming job change. I had also looked at bags from a variety of sellers, including eBags, Victorinox, etc; none of them were as sleek, light weight and well constructed and professional appearing as this bag.

1. Briggs and Riley is one of only a few luggage makers that offers a lifetime warranties on everything they make. It goes without saying, all of their products are extremely well designed & thought out, made of durable materials that are carefully put together. If there's every a problem, they will fix or repair it for free. I have one other B&R product that has served me extremely well and looks/works as good now as when it was first purchased.

2. Aside from holding a 13" laptop (fits my macbook 13" perfectly), it has a separately zippered compartment to hold an ipad + papers. If you do not need the second pocket to hold additional papers (ie, you only need a bag that will hold a laptop + smaller front pocket, B&R makes a Speedy Mini Brief, which is slimmer/lighter, but I find that its nice to have the extra space)

3. It has a strap on the backside that allows you to hook the briefcase onto the handle of your rolling luggage. There is also a separate detachable and adjustable shoulder strap.

4. This thing OOZES quality-it's made of abrasion resistant nylon and the self-repairing zippers that open and close very easily. It's very comfortable to the touch, and looks like it will last a very long time. I've gotten several compliments on it.

5. The front pocket has an area that holds 3 pens, a USB stick, key chain, cell phone, business cards, etc. The bag has a unique serial number (like many Tumi bags), and you can register the item at B&R's website; that way if its ever lost, the owner can be identified.

6. The interior of this bag is orange; this makes it obvious when the bag is open, reminding you to close it.

7. There are orange accents on the zipper, and a small portion of the stitching on the front and side is orange as well; I dont find it distracting.

8.The straps are held together by two magnets inside a padded foam wrap; the magnets snaps together and the foam handle VERY comfortable to hold for extended periods of time with two hands.

9. There is an additional slim pocket that is zippered from the top of the bag, about 4 inches long, and another that runs along the front pocket; I dont have any use for them, but they dont get in the way.

10. If there are any problems that arise I will update this review as needed.

If you are looking for a genuinely light laptop travel case, and you don't have a laptop larger then a think 14" 15", then this case is ideal. I use it for my 13" MacBook Pro. It is of the quality you expect from B&R, namely the highest, and it is astonishingly light. But if you are someone who packs a lot into a briefcase this is not the case for you. I used to, but I am glad that this case forces me to travel sensibly.

Duluth Pack Scout Pack Backpack

I've been using my black scout pack for about three weeks, mostly for walking and taking public transit to work, and exploring the city on the weekends. I love this pack.

I usually carry my 14" laptop, charger, day planner, my Klip It 3 Compartment Lunch Cube, a pad of paper, and a pouch for meds in the main compartment; the rest of my small items go in the zippered pocket. With all of this, it's moderately full (i.e. closes on the middle buckle hole), but it's mostly because of the lunch cube's height. WIthout that, I can easily pack a change of clothes for the gym (not shoes). If you pack lightly, you might even be able to use this as a weekend bag (without a laptop inside probably).

Pros:

-One thing I was surprised at was how low it sits on your back even on the tightest buckle setting. It feels balanced just fine; I guess I was just used to cranking my old backpack straps way tight so the pack hung nearer to my shoulders. The pack's cotton webbing straps are very comfortable.

-The canvas is heavy and rugged, and the leather straps, once stiff out of the box, are now becoming supple and easier to get in and out of the buckles.

-This holds a surprising amount for when I need it to, but is small and sleek enough for all the rest of the time. This is key because I didn't want a backpack that made me look like a turtle or was going to knock people over while I commute on the train. The size is perfect without giving me too much space to needlessly fill.

-Minimalist design looks great to me.

Cons:

-Extremely simple internal organization, and no external organization. This will most likely be the determining factor on if you like this pack or not. A lot of people need a home for every gadget they need to carry, and this pack won't do that for you.

-Unstructured pack consequently doesn't hold its shape if you don't have much in the pack to give it structure, nor will it stay open when you lay it on a surface, like a lot of other bags will.

-The bottom of the zippered pocket doesn't hit the bottom of the pack. Because of this, I noticed that if you put too much heavy stuff in the zippered pocket and you don't have something inside the main compartment to give the pack some structure, it will weigh the pocket and the back of the pack down. This looks a little slouchy.

-The opposite extreme is if I pack the bag to close to its max carrying capacity or pack it with bulky items. In this case, if I have too much in the zip pocket, I can't slide that last thing in because of depth clearance issues. However, the saving grace is that the pocket flips to the outside of the pack, which frees up the depth clearance. Then you can load the last items, then flip the zip pocket back into the pack where it rests on top of everything else. The lid then straps down nice and snug.

-VERY MINOR: black canvas, I just found out, attracts lighter colored lint and it can show it fairly easily. I take a lint roller perhaps once a week, and it solves this problem.

Overall, the cons are minor when comparing the pros, which are great build quality, minimalist styling, and a design that keeps you from looking like a turtle. If you need a simple pack that you can take anywhere for fairly light excursions, then you will not be disappointed with the Scout Pack. Two thumbs way up.

First off, I've been very happy overall with my Duluth Pack. It hasn't given me any serious difficulties and has over all been incredibly useful. There are a few outstanding features:

1. Great canvas and leather construction. I can swing this thing around and throw it on the ground and kick it, and there is no problem with integrity. So far I have taken it to school full of books all semester, and then to a convention, and used it for everything from board games to boots and it's held up fantastically.

2. Tied to that, it's very easy to clean. Just use a damp cloth or even a light scrub brush like a nail brush for flecks of mud. The canvas is nice and sturdy and holds up well and doesn't discolor.

3. It's very understated if you get a neutral. I got this pack partly because I saw one of my fellow teachers carrying around one of those sporty looking mesh backpacks and thought, secretly, that it looked pretty unprofessional. Handcarrying a briefcase is almost impossible when one of your textbooks weighs about 10 pounds, so a backpack is necessary but I really prefer this rugged, grown up looking pack to the neon and polyester variety.

4. It's very secure. You can zip your wallet right into the little interior pocket, buckle the straps and nothing will fall out. Heck, even if you don't buckle the straps, as long as it isn't stuffed, you're in pretty good shape. I like the somewhat deconstructed style here, not super boxy, but it really doesn't just collapse like a sack either.

In terms of issues with the bag, I have three. One is that one of my straps didn't have the leather properly and completely treated, so it had ripples and irregularities. Not really worth fussing over, but noted. Secondly, the back straps are initially QUITE long and you will have to either take them to a cobbler and have them trimmed or do it yourself. I did it myself and so far no issues, but I'm keeping an eye on them. Lastly, and not really a fault of the bag, but as a black canvas it does attract some light colored lint. Lint roller generally does the trick but you have to be pretty consistent if you want a nice clean presentation. On the other hand my black cat's fur doesn't show up at all, so win some, lose some.

I would definitely get this backpack again if given the choice. I will update this review after a year or so and note whether or not it holds up.

Duluth has poor customer service! When I ordered a scout pack, the rivets broke in less than a week. I put in an order to have a different bag sent. However, they sent this rotten scout pack back to me, despite that I did not want it. They made some excuses about how the orders on the computer do not connect with the packages that come to their warehouse. Then Duluth went on to say how that it was was my fault and they were innocent for blindly sending this bag back to me, when in fact a rep by the name of Kaci did not follow through with the subsequent order and ignored my request.

Wildkin Olive Kids 15" Robots Sidekick Backpack

I was really looking for a good, solid, fun backpack for my 1st grader and this is it. All parts are solid and work well. I even put it in the washer and dryer and it came out just fine. whew!

Well my son was given the lunchbox with the same fabric design as a 5th birthday gift in the spring, and he loved it. When we were looking at backpacks, I saw there were two with this design (which is what he wanted) this is the larger one. I suggest you get this one for your Kindergardner not the smaller one. It fits his back just perfect and if it were smaller it would likely not hold everything. Amazing to me that he needs to stuff extra clothing, school items going to and from school, a lunch box and occasionally show and tell items in there. He has even been able to stuff his jacket inside when it was still warm in the afternoon. If we had anything smaller he might have to carry something by hand, and I am sure things would get lost that way. This has been through a little over 2 months of school and it is perfectly in tact. I see how the kids treat their backpacks too and I am amazed that this is holding up so well. Plus there is an additional zipper compartment in the front that has little pockets that can hold pencils and other items, so its easy to keep clean and organized. I am glad we picked this one!

I have purchased this backpack for a child of about 40" height to use every day at school. It is relatively big, but light enough to carry some clothes, a light jacket a blanket and a pair of shoes. A standard size folder fits in the main compartment. There is plenty of room left after that. There are pockets for pens and a small pocket inside the large front smaller compartment. With books it can get heavy. Black bottom is very useful since it can be dragged on the floor occasionally.

Sturdy design, quality materials, wide padded straps, nice color and design. Better quality than most backpacks I have seen in stores with "licensed characters" on them.

Great backpack for a preschooler. Good quality material and the size is perfect for a 4.5 year old. He loves the robots! Only thing missing is a strap to attach the matching lunchbox. You are forced to carry it separately, or place the lunchbox in the bag itself. Otherwise, a good purchase for a good price.

After trying out several different cases/sleeves for my ipad2 I found that this one was best it has plenty of padding but still is small also has place for charger and small acc. I even spilled a drink on it and it didn't go through, also I would recommend against trying that.

It has been a great choice!!!

This case is quite different than other netbook case. For one, the material is like a soft puffer jacket and it is well padded. There's a small compartment to hold the ac charger or other items(phone, flash drives, etc). Overall, I like it and of the 4 bags/case I purchased for my netbook, this is my favorite. I bought mine from an amazon marketplace seller for < $10. I loved it so much I bought 3 more to give out as gifts.

I couldn't be more pleased. This was purchased so I can maximize my carry-on luggage as the under the seat personal item. Unlike many high-end packs, this has soft material that makes it easy to jam in those hard to fit areas. It has just the right amount of pockets for personal items and no wasted space with compartments that simply take up too much space. It's a bit pricey but it's a Tumi and I am very pleased! It has every feature that I wanted and needed and could paid a lot more and still not have the features.
