It is the perfect size/fit but I am returning it after two weeks because I can't deal with the horrible smell.
I strongly recommend avoiding this product. I believe it may be hazardous to one's health.

Even though it is not as bright as the picture shows, it is prettier than whole black bag. And the quality is very good and durable. The design is very good. It fits perfectly for my 14-inch computer. And it also has plenty of space for the charger.All in all, I recommend it very much.Read Best Reviews of Swiss Gear Anthem 16" Laptop/Notebook Backpack Blue Here

I love this! I have a 15.4 inch Sony Vaio laptop (VPCEB11FX) and this case fits it fine. The case is a little bigger than the laptop, which is ok because I can grab it to take it out of my backpack. The orange color is not that bad and lets me know if I have it zippered. The case did have the rubber smell at first, but it went away after a week of use. The brown herrigbone material suits my personality because I like herringbone. This is a great case to protect my investment!Read Best Reviews of Case Logic 16" Laptop Sleeve - Herringbone Here
This is a sturdy and attractive laptop cover.There's no going wrong with it's neutral gray herringbone pattern, perfect for office, travel and anywhere.
Keeps your laptop protected when not in use. The interior is a bright orange in contrast to it's subdued outside appearance.
I love the protection and the appearance. Highly recommended!

Apparently no one told the people at CaseLogic that most laptops are sold based on their diagonal dimension, not the longest edge dimension. (This allows laptop makers to say their laptop has a 15" screen when it measures 12" by 9" or so.)So, in short, my 15" MacBook, which is actually about 12" by 9", is way, way smaller than this case, which says it's for 15"-16" laptops, but is measuring by the longest edge. I've uploaded a picture which illustrates the massive size difference between a 15" laptop and this 15" case.
If you've actually measured your laptop, and it actually is 15" on the longest edge, this laptop sleeve will probably be satisfactory. It stinks like crazy when you first open the package, but that fades with time. The padding is thick enough to insulate a laptop from minor turbulence, but won't take any serious trauma. The herringbone pattern is subtle, but more interesting than plain colors. The interior orange is... bright, which is nice but not really important.

Tamrac 5549 Adventure 9 Photo/Laptop Backpack (Red/Black)
The Adventure 9 certainly has more room than the Adventure 8, especially in the top compartment. The bag is sturdily designed and comfortable, and Tamrac have introduced some nice extra features. I like the removable inner pocket designed for carrying laptop and electrical cords, although it would be more convenient to have it adhere directly to the bag via Velcro, rather than having the cumbersome Velcro straps that lash to inner loops.
The padded camera compartment is easier to access than the Adventure 8, although one must be careful not to spill lenses and other equipment out on the ground.
The Adventure 9 is not all good, however. The see-through lined compartment has limited uses other than as a "collect all" pocket. Tamrac's special "Memory and Battery Management System" is pretty useless if if you utilize a memory case such as Gepe's CardSafe Watertight Memory Card Case . The memory management compartment just take up otherwise needed space.
Despite its larger size, the Adventure 9 has fewer compartments than the smaller Adventure 8. There are times when I would like extra compartments in order to stash small items and extra goodies, such as small bottles of sunscreen, hand sanitizer, and lens cleaner.
As a word of caution, the padded camera compartment is deeper than it looks in the advertisement photos. If your equipment is of standard size (in other words, not gigantic), you may have to be creative with the padded inserts in order to keep your gear from shifting or flopping around inside the compartment.
When accessing the camera compartment, the top quick release buckle tends to constantly flop down into the compartment. I'm constantly annoyed with it, shoving it out of the way to get to my gear, only to have it flop back into the way.
Both the Adventure 8 and Adventure 9 backpacks have waist straps. However, the Adventure 8 has a rear sleeve in which to stash the waist straps when not in use. For some unknown reason, this sleeve was not included in the Adventure 9 pack, leaving the straps to dangle needlessly below the bag. If it didn't reduce the bag's resale value, I would probably cut the straps off just to be rid of the annoyance.
According to the Tamrac website, the rear computer compartment holds 17" laptops up to 15 1/2" x 11" x 2". Most Apple notebooks run a bit slimmer than that, so access is not a problem. My computer, however, runs those exact dimensions and will not fit due to the compartment's zipper limitations. Tamrac should have designed a wider zipper opening for easier access. I'm fearful of forcing the computer, as it may tear the zipper or the compartment.
In conclusion, I was hoping that upgrading from the Adventure 8 to the Adventure 9 would allow me the same functionality as well as the added bonus of hauling a laptop. In the end, the bags shortcomings left a bad taste in my mouth.Since I got this backpack several weeks ago, I made many trips, including 2 to Singapore. I brought along my Canon XTi (400D), its kit lens (18-55mm), one 28-135mm lens, one 70-200mm / f2.8 lens, one external flash, and a few other small accessories, one 17-in Dell D820 laptop, its charger and mouse. The total weight is over 24 lbs (11 kg). I find this bag much better than the Tamrac Adventure 7 and the Lowepro CompuDayPack, both of which I outgrew quickly. With the Adventure 9, I can access my camera, lenses and accessories, pretty fast. Yes, I do have to put the bag on the ground to get to the camera; But that's the price I am willing to pay for convenience of carrying so many things in one bag.
When in an airplane, I put this backpack in the overhead bin. It's securely out of the way of legs, feet, service carts, etc. Before leaving home or hotel room in the morning, I will make a decision on what to bring. For example, when I was in Singapore over a weekend, I left my laptop and its accessories in the lock box in the room. My backpack was considerably lighter. I was able to find a way to conveniently secure my monopod on the Adventure 9, went out to enjoy the city and took a good deal of pictures.
This backpack is well made. The quality of its materials and workmanship is very high. Its design makes its usage convenient. The features of this backpack are well thought-out. I feel secure carrying my photographic assets around.
The only issue preventing me from giving it a 5 star is the opening for the laptop. It is barely enough for a 17-in laptop; the zipper interferes with putting in or taking out the laptop, from time to time. It seems that the worst time for this interference to happen is at the airport security line.
Hope my review is of use to you.
Update 16 March 2010
Since my review above, I made many more trips to Asia & Europe, as well as within the US. I also upgraded my camera to a Canon 50D. And my company entrusted me with a slightly bigger laptop.
This Tamrac Adventure 9 I purchased back in 2007 still serves me well. It protected my camera, lenses and accessories through high humidity & high heat of Southeast Asia, high dry heat of the desert Southwest of US, extreme cold winter of the central Europe, and many types of weather in between.
In case you like to see the photos I took on my travels, please go to .
Thank you.

This backpack has it all:Padded compartment for laptops up to 17"
Ample room for large DSLRs and 2-4 lenses/flashes
Space for other items, guidebook, jacket, etc.
A discrete non-camera bag appearance for security
It is a great looking bag too. I am going to the Caucasus and don't want to leave any equipment at the hotel. This bag allows you to carry all your gear with you. The straps are very comfortable. I like the grey/black combination, doesn't scream "I have expensive camera equipment. Come mug me."

I bought this to fit my Canon EOS 30D, EF 24-70 f/2.8L (attached to the camera), EF-S 10-22 & the EF 70-200 f/2.8L.Does it all fit? Yep, but there's not a whole lot of room left over. I have room in the bottom for the 580EX Speedlite but that's about it.
The top on the other hand is a bit smaller than I would have liked. Sure it holds other stuff...and lunch...OR a sweatshirt...but it's pretty cramped. With a bit of mashing I can just fit a light sweatshirt and my Panasonic PV-GS150 up there but it's a tight squeaze to be sure.
It's comfortable to wear but could really be a little larger overall. And I wish there was a way to secure all the straps...sternum, etc. I don't need those all the time and without a few "ties" of some sort they just seem to be floppin' everywhere.
I only gave it 3 stars because while it really is a very nice backpack it really could stand to be a few inches larger all the way around...and be able to secure or remove the extra straps when not in use.

We recently took this backpack to Mexico, with a laptop, some camera gear, and even put some small portable speakers in the camera dividers. It was heavy but very comfortable to carry. All the gear was well protected but easy to access (handy for airport security!). The versatility of having padded sections AND a laptop pocket (which is accessible without opening the main part of the pack) AND an open area for jacket or snacks makes this the perfect pack for our needs.Lenovo Performance Backpack - Notebook carrying backpack
The major CONS are the belt buckles and the upper ligaments of the belts.
The buckles are not working so well, they often got stuck once I totally release them. The upper ligaments seem a little too slim to handle much weight.I've been buying this backpack for a few years now. I think this is my third one. For the money you can't go wrong. I especially like how light it is. This really makes a difference to me. My Wenger backpack is larger, but even empty it's quite heavy and I only use it if I really need more space. If you commute by bike or on foot this Lenovo backpack should be a good choice. When I spend the extra money for an ultralight laptop, I don't like to then carry it around in a heavy backpack. Every ounce matters when you add in all the other junk needed for daily travels. The only drawback is the top handle built into the shoulder straps. It's great for grabbing the backpack off the floor or car seat, but it is a little annoying rubbing on the back of my neck as I bike. I've never had a problem with straps ripping off. After heavy use and bike commuting one year I did manage to rip some seams on the secondary compartment. The net on the outside is also a feature I use quite often and appreciate. I can roll up a raincoat or windbreaker and stash it there even if it's wet.

So reading threw some of these reviews I was very hesitant about buying this ruck/day pack but then I saw the price and thought to my self what is there to loose, so I bought it got it and now I love it. This pack is NOT a ruck, more or less a couple of days worth of gear and maybe not even that. Now don't get me wrong you can fit a crap ton of small stuff in it but nothing larger than 2 days worth of clothes and some small gear. I do a lot of travel and field work and this ruck makes a great bag for my field work and also gives me the capabilities to carry it on to an aircraft with no problems. There is a smaller flap in the top of the main compartment with a little bit of handy work you can make an all right laptop compartment as well. Hope this helped some of you iffy buyers by the way my bag was in excellent condition unlike some other reviews smelt like burlap and storage but throw it in the washing machine and your good to go.Read Best Reviews of Czech Small Rucksack Used Here

Overall, I'd say this is a pretty cool backpack. From other reviews, I knew I was taking a risk, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. The pack I received is more of a camo green color than the tan it appeared in the pic. It doesn't have the normal shoulder straps I'm used to; they're more like a chest harness you might see on a pack horse. Still not sure how to attatch them yet, but I'll figure it out. The bag smells a bit weird, but I'm sure that'll wear off. Lastly, it seems to be pretty sturdy. It may be used, but it appears to have quite a bit of life left in it.It took a while to ship (I was aware of this before purchase), but it still came before the estimated arrival date. Altogether, it took 17 days to arrivenot bad.
Jill-E E-GO Laptop Tote
1. It zips across the top. This is crucial when stuffing it under the seat in front of you, and also when running through the rain! Stuff can't fall out, and your belongings are protected from the elements.
2. It has a panel on the back of the bag that unzips on the bottom, and you can slide it over your wheeled bag's handle. It's a wide panel, so it keeps things stable and doesn't twist around to the front of the bag or fall off the side, as I've had happen with previous bags.
3. It has a padded separate laptop compartment with a velcro tab closure. This keep my laptop and papers separate so nothing gets squashed.
4. The straps are a good, comfortable length. I schlepped this bag over a mile each day of the trip, and it didn't bother my shoulders at all.
5. The bag's materials are very durable and don't look any worse for the wear after my trip.
I had one small problem with the bag, and hence the four rather than five stars. On this first trip, the magnet closure that keeps the top of the back panel of the bag closed came off after it snagged on the handle of my roller bag while I was taking the bag off. It's not so severe a problem that I'll be returning the bag, but it was kind of a bummer. It honestly doesn't seem like a particularly necessary feature, but the placement of it made it so that it snagged every time I put the bag on or took it off my roller bag, so it is definitely a design issue.
Overall, an attractive bag that's generally durable and highly functional!The right size for my 12 inch laptop with plenty of space for the contents of my purse. Several people think it is a purse. A little rigidly constructed and made of cleanable material. I would definitely recommend at the price I bought it for, which is half the regular price.

I can't get enough of this bag! Love how spacious it is inside and very stylish on the outside. Aside from my laptop, I can also fit my ipad on the outside pocket and I wouldn't be surprised if I can fit my big camera as well! The additional ID tag is also a nice touch. Also, this arrived sooner than I expected even though it was not specified as a 2-day shipment. JanSport Covert Backpack (Pink Prep Hippy Skip)
one 15" 17" laptop;
two big two ring binders;
1-2 textbooks (the science and math books are really big);
pencil case;
snack box;
water bottle;
possibly PE clothes or any way a change but I begged her not to pretend to also fit the PE shoes in there.
I any way was a little skeptical I would ever be able to find any thing as big as she wanted it to be and when I was reading specifications of this backpack I was happy but, as I said before, also a little skeptical. Well, it arrived and since still in the box it really looked big, much bigger then it looked on the web.
It fits all!! I was very happy. Two weeks have passed only since my daughter is using it but she is telling me daily how much she likes it.
It has enough space for all she needs to fit in there.
It has many compartments;
Even the pockets are big enough and with enough separations to contain many different stuff.
Padded enough, the computer sleeve but also the back part (I probably would have preferred a bit more padding there but my daughter doesn't agree. She said more padding make the bag look more voluminous;
One of the things we like a lot is the way the straps in the back allow for it to be also hanged in hooks at school or elsewhere;
The color and design is really beautiful (blue + turquoise + black squares, like Scottish pattern);
It is so nice that she decided to take this as hand baggage in trips. I am really happy with this item.I've been trying to replace my 11-year old mesh backpack made by Jansport. My mesh backpack was simply amazing and, thus, the reason why it has been with me for so many years. Sadly, it was now time to replace it so I started looking for a new mesh backpack. My old one had 2 compartments and the new one, that Jansport makes, only has 1 so it was a no-go.
When I saw this backpack I noticed it fitted more than my mesh backpack while still looking slick and it had a laptop compartment so I ordered it thru Amazon. It just arrived and I was eager to try it.
My first complain is that the backpack arrived with a cut on the side, so it was already damaged. I then proceeded to load it with what I would normally load it with: laptop, camera, lenses, and notebook. To my surprise the material of the backpack is super cheap, and not of good quality. Additionally, the strap on the top put a ton of pressure on your neck so that the weight of the stuff in your backpack doesn't rest on your shoulder but your neck.
That said, I'm returning this backpack ASAP.
:( Bad, bad Jansport.

I love Kipling products so when I bought my 13" macbook pro I knew I had to get this backpack! I just received it 2 days ago and I love the bag. It fits my laptop perfectly, if it was bigger than a 15" laptop I would say it wouldn't fit! I mean it would fit in the slot, but the strap would not Velcro over the laptop, which I am guessing it might not even be necessary. The bag is extremely light weight and comes in many colors. I just got this bag yesterday (in navy blue) and I love it. The Kipling bags seem to be very well made: They are made out of ultra lightweight material, but it is very, very strong. Likewise, the zippers (and zipper pulls) and the top carry-handle seem to be extremely sturdy. The pocket layout is sensible, with two front pockets and two small top pockets in addition to the main pocket with the padded laptop pouch at the back. And there are two unexpected little touches: a furry gorilla key fob (I hear they name the gorillas after employees; mine is called Kim) and sliding clips to keep the loose ends of the canvas straps from flapping around. The velcro is heavy duty which i also like. I would buy it again!The sleeve is stretchy and could fit my 15.6 Thinkpad which has battery extension which makes it bigger and bulkier than the normal ones.
