Authentic Pigment Cotton Canvas Strap Bag. 1908

Authentic Pigment Raw Edge Messenger Bag, khaki green, One SizeConsidering the price of this bag, I was a bit iffy. It seemed a bit cheap for something that would be holding my heavy textbooks and the worst thing that could happen would be for it to split while I'm walking around campus.

I've owned one for about 3months now and I'm considering getting another in a different color.

It's got an adjustable shoulder strap. It doesn't really have a padded strap like some bags, but I've never found that it dug into me like some bags do, even when I'm carrying my heaviest books.

It's a decent size. I usually just carry one book, binder, some pencils and a umbrella in it, but if I wanted to it could easily hold another book or two. I really only use the one giant bag portion but I believe it also has a smaller zipper portion perfect for wallets, mp3 players or pencils, as well as an outer pouch or two. The pain flap is magnetic buttoned closed but it stays shut.

It's durable. I haven't seen any holes or tears yet after 3 months of constant use daily. I'd feel comfortable putting my laptop in it if I wanted to.

It come in various colors. I got a brown one but there are plenty of colors to choose from, and for the price you could get two different ones for the price of a bag somewhere else.

Really I have yet to have a problem. It is exactly what I needed for college. I really am not a fan of backpacks at all. These are perfectly acceptable for guys and girls. I say buy it! I know I'm getting another one for sure!

My bag just arrived today. I bought mine in the color black. I couldn't believe the amount of space inside this bag! The soft material is very lightweight which keeps the shoulder strap from tugging on my shoulder (Unlike my old messenger bag which was a thicker sturdy material but was really heavy on the shoulder, especially when carrying contents inside). The downside of this bag being lightweight material is that it doesn't stand up on it's own when you put it down. You have to lean it against something or lay it down. But who cares. It has two zipper compartments inside, one small and the other large. Also, it has slim cellphone/cigarette pockets ON BOTH ENDS OF THE BAG. Now that's cool. Overall, I'm happy with it.

I love this bag! Get one or two! lol The strap adjust very easily and still stays in place. You can load it full and abuse it and it still looks good. I hear " Where did you get that bag?" about once a week. The inside zip pocket holds quite a bit of stuff. The two side pockets are great, It even has a key hook. Great Deal !

in some ways I love this bag, and in other ways....I quite DISlike this bag.

Why I love it: The size is nice, it fits my school books and (mostly) fits my 17" laptop along with those necessary books. The strap for holding the bag is nice and soft, it doesn't require an extra pad in order to keep it comfortable while toting it around. The magnetic buttons to keep it shut are also quite useful and very nice.

The reasons I dislike it: While carrying it I've noticed that one of the metal clasps that connects the bag and the strap has a tendency to shift, this isn't detrimental to the bag yet so it's generally only a minor annoyance to me. The bag while able to fit my 17" laptop also however leaves a slight bit exposed to air, this is only problematic while it is raining and I have to take measures to ensure my laptop isn't exposed to the water. Also this bag should NOT be washed in a washing machine, I did so since mine is black and DOES come needs cleaning, and unfortunately got many loose threads around the bag's closing flap, I've since had to trim these excess threads and simply HOPE it doesn't cause utter failure of the bags structure.

Overall, I DO like this bag, the feel is nice, but for my heavy-duty needs I probably should have purchased another. If your needs are light and you don't have a need to wash this bag in a washing machine, I would definetly recommend this bag. However if you're a student like me with a need to carry a large load, especially a rather large electronic device, I would recommend another bag for use.

Again I want to emphasize: I DO like this bag, it's comfortable and useful.

But for heavy duty use, please browse all your options (and reviews) thoroughly.

I ordered this bag a few days ago after finally deciding on a new bag for college. I decided to go with a roomier bag that could fit my textbooks and laptop without feeling cramped or looking overstuffed. To my surprise, the order came in so much faster than I would've ever expected (in less than four days) and I came home to find a puffy looking sack on my doorstep. I opened it and couldn't believe how fast it arrived and much roomier it looks. The picture does not do it justice. This bag is great, looks like it can take a beating, and the strap doesn't seem to hurt the shoulder like other bags. I opened this, looked inside, and found I could fit more than just my books and laptop! I'm incredibly satisfied with this purchase!

Port Authority Basic Drawstring Backpack

Basic Drawstring Backpack - CharcoalThese backpacks are the perfect size for a trip to the park or to use on a cruise for day excursions. Quality was very good and the reinforced tabs at the bottom keep the strings from pulling out due to weight.

I was actually looking to purchase canvas bags, but settled on these because of the price. We are using them for our girl scout troop outings. The bags won't be carrying anything too heavy other than a waterbottle. I can't imagine using it for school books as the material is very thin and I don't see the stitching as strong as a backpack my kids use for school. The color is awesome though and our petals are sticking well after ironing. The girls enjoyed decorating them as well. If you are just needing something to tool around in with a notebook, reading book, and a few other light weight items they will do the trick and work nicely. I wouldn't recommend as a replacement for a good school backpack. They are large in size and are huge on our 5/6/7 year olds. Size fits better for teens & adults. We adjusted the straps by tying a knot shorter on the drawstring and cutting off the excess.

My bag has traveled all over the world multiple times and looks like it will continue to travel with me for many years to come. Use it as a backpack or a laundry bag or pretty much anything else...it's lightweight, easy to pack and carry, and if it gets lost or damaged, you're not out alot of cash. I love these bags!

We are very pleased with these bags for the price. Much thicker and sturdier than I expected. Ordered for school gym bags Will definitely purchase these again. Shipping was extremely quick ordered on Thursday, had items on Monday.

pack is nice and lightweight. Strings could be a little longer so they aren't so tight around the arms for an adult. But love the color.

Liberty Bags Large Lightweight Nylon Drawstring Backpack (8882)

Liberty Bags Large Drawstring Backpack 8882These bags are great for putting wet workout clothing in to carry home from gym. They are a good size, they are waterproof and they are washable. And dry well in the dryer. My husband has an assortment to keep in his locker and was quite pleased with the price.

I bought this bag for my son and it is great. It is large enough to hold a beach towel, change of clothes and still have room for more. It seems very sturdy and well made. The only down side is shipping was more than the bag.

Slightly bigger than I expected, but that's okay. I love all the colors they come in. After a hard time deciding what color to get, I ordered the hot pink one. I use it as a gym bag.

First, the good--

1) The bag was quite spacious. I've seen other drawstring bags with much smaller holds, and this one definitely has more than enough space for carrying towels, gym clothes, sports equipment, or--in a pinch--books or even a packaged lunch.

2) The fabric used is somewhat resistant to water. (Most likely by design.) I'm not saying it's absolutely waterproof, though; don't go dipping it into a bathtub and expect the items inside to stay dry.

3) It comes in many, MANY colors. At the time of writing this review, there were 14 different colors, and I wisely chose not to have the blindingly noticeable colors like bright pink or yellow. Navy blue is more than sufficient for me.

4) The price was very reasonable for its purpose. I bought this bag for just under ten dollars (including shipping!) and received it in less than five days. If you have particularly high standards for a drawstring bag, then I warn you--take the time to research other options. You will mostly get what you paid for.

Now, the bad--

1) My biggest concern is that the bag was very poorly built. Although it cost less than $10, I noticed tears in the fabric from carrying even 10 lb. loads. I didn't notice those until my roommate pointed them out to me, and foolishly thought the fabric would hold a 25 lb. load later on. Buyer beware: although the item is labeled as a "backpack", do NOT think it acts in substitute of a conventional backpack. The straps are about a half-inch wide, and will leave imprints in your shoulders with heavy loads. In extreme cases, the fabric WILL tear and you will be left with a hole in the bottom as I was.

2) The fabric is very thin and flimsy. And there isn't a lot of it. While it can hold a large number of items, I'd imagine that the paper-thin fabric would be very transparent in bright areas or if the bag is a bright color. In addition, with such a thin fabric, it's VERY easy to accidentally crush something since the shape of the bag does not hold under pressure.

3) The straps are non-adjustable. I have a relatively small torso (32"), so it was very difficult dealing with a bag which had straps made for a 38-42" chest. Often times, the bag will slip and fall from your shoulders because the arm holes are just too damn large.

4) No pockets. Not a one. It makes it hard to sort smaller items from the big, bulkier ones, but as I've repeated multiple times already, you get what you paid for.

Final Verdict--

While this bag is incredibly cheap as well as cheaply made, I am buying another one to replace my old bag just because of the price. Do be warned that it is recommended that you buy a different bag for heavier loads (at least 10 lbs.), but this particular bag is flexible and thin so it works as a way to further sort your stuff inside of a larger, sturdier space such as a cargo box or backpack.

3 / 5 stars

I ordered two of these for summer camp for my children and one of the backpack's strings untied on the first day of use for which I immediately contacted the seller and their reply was 'Unfortunately, we cannot provide refunds or replacements for products damaged through use.' They also suggested that I retie it on my own which I tried and could not do. The other backpack got tears in it after a few weeks of use. Will never buy this again.

High Sierra Water Bottle Sport Duffel

High Sierra Water Bottle Sport DuffelI use this bag to put my gym clothes and shoes in so I can hit the gym on the way home from work. It would fit a towel and shower kit. I like the water bottle holder on the outside I keep my refillable water bottle there so I always have a water bottle at the gym. The separate shoe pocket is great, but it does fill some of the inside of the bag so it does not give you any extra space. It does give you a place to put your shoes so they will not touch your clothes and get them dirty. The handle on one end of the bag makes it easy to slide in and out of the storage box at my gym. Small enough so it fits nicely on the floorboard of my car behind the driver/passenger seat. Two small pockets on one side are great for keys, cell phone, and mp3 player. Happy with my new gym bag.

Five stars... not perfect, but worth five stars. What is not perfect about this...you say??? The shoes (in my case) need to be inserted before the contents of the bag, otherwise the shoes are a pain to get in. I have adapted and the bag is great. Looks good, holds what I need (including a water bottle) and seems to be made very well.

My husband had one of these in black and it survived 5 years of abuse. The separate pouch for shoes is really helpful and the external water bottle holder come in very handy. I bought him a replacement for his birthday. Great product.

Updated 2013-02-09: I contacted High Sierra shortly after writing the original review. A new bag arrived after a few weeks. The replacement has held up well since, and the zipper is still attached. I'm giving it 4 stars (up from 3 originally) as a result. Maybe I just got unlucky the first time. Either way, High Sierra did the right thing.

Original Title: Good while it lasted

Bought one of these in a retail travel store. The 'U' shape opening makes it very easy to access the main compartment and get things in/out. Mine saw light duty ~3x week as a gym bag after work and the roughly monthly weekend trip. The zipper came off in less than a year which was very disapppointing. Otherwise, the bag held up very well.

The Sport Duffel Met my expectations, you may need something bigger, but if you are well organized, will have no problem, The Duffel should come with a hook on a top handle, which initially saw no use, but gently place a hook for keys is wonderful place.....it is comfortable to transport the three alternatives to handle, highly recommended, good product

12" Mickey Mouse Rolling Backpack-tote-bag-school

12' Mickey Mouse Rolling Backpack-tote-bag-schoolThis is the perfect size for my two year old son. The quality is much better than I was expecting . There is one large main zipper portion and then the smaller one shown on the front. It rolls nicely and there is velcro on the back to keep the straps from dragging while it is being rolled. We are going to use this as his carry on for a long plane ride. It is the perfect size for him. I would recommend a larger size for an older child. This is a preschool sized pack.

My son loves the rolling backpack and Mickey! Good price. Great for a two year old. How can you go wrong?

USMC ILBE ARCTERYX Military MARPAT Assault BackPack

USMC ILBE ARCTERYX Military MARPAT Assault BackPack
  • MOLLE II compatible
  • Adjustable sternum, waist and quick release shoulder straps
  • Hydration system tube exit holes
  • Designed by Arc'Teryx
  • SIZE: Approximate 18.5" Height x 11" Width x 10" Deep

I ordered one of these "used" backpacks thinking I would have some light sewing to do or repairing or washing to do. I mainly ordered this backpack for work. After it arrived, I was pretty blown away! The backpack exterior was in immaculate condition. There would be no way for anyone to know it is a "used" backpack. The ONLY defect I found was there is a small repairable tear on one of the inside pockets. All the backpacks are different, so theres no telling if you will be so lucky, but based on the other reviews, you most likely will get a top quality backpack!

The pack itself is about medium sized, good for one or two days of backpacking materials, or for use as a day pack. The MARPAT design is really eye catching. Not a ton of zippers or pockets, just a basic pack, but perfect for minimalists who don't want a bunch of pockets. There is one small drain hole on the underside of the pack. The shoulder straps are just cushy enough and not too wide at all. Lots of easily adjustable straps for maximum confort. I would say if you like the looks and design of this backpack, it is a GREAT deal! Great backpack! Mine didn't ship folded.

Okay so let me start off by saying I am NOT a Marine but I give my upmost respect to those guys & I have a couple friends & family members serving the corps. I LOVE this pack !! The marpat camo looks great & looks exactly like the pictures. The pack came with tan colored heavy plastic buckles instead of the black metal arc'teryx shown on the pictures, (I'm sure they replaced them due to defects on the originals) has a small hole inside the main pocket & the main compartment is also a little sandy & dirty (which is fine for me because it adds to the authenticity ! ) this is the REAL DEAL USMC issue pack. Made from cordura 725 denier fabric. My ONLY complaint was the matter of shipping, my pack took a while to get to me & when I finally got it, it came in a small box & I wasn't sure what it was until I opened it & found my backpack folded inside of it. (the backpack has a plastic back support (removable) that bent a little bit & now my pack kind of leans. Otherwise this is an amazing backpack that I'm sure will last me a lifetime !

I personally was disipointed to get the pack and realize off the bat that the zipper was broken and there was a hole in the bottom of it. I was an Infantry man in the Marine Corps so I am used to getting s***ty gear but this one takes the cake...

Tamrac 5549 Adventure 9 Photo/Laptop Backpack (Red/Black)

Tamrac 5549 Adventure 9 Photo/Laptop BackpackHaving greatly enjoyed the fine quality and convenience of Tamrac's Adventure 8 Photo Backpack , I eagerly purchased the Adventure 9 as a more versatile travel bag. I was especially interested in being able to consolidate my camera bag and computer bag into one unit.

The Adventure 9 certainly has more room than the Adventure 8, especially in the top compartment. The bag is sturdily designed and comfortable, and Tamrac have introduced some nice extra features. I like the removable inner pocket designed for carrying laptop and electrical cords, although it would be more convenient to have it adhere directly to the bag via Velcro, rather than having the cumbersome Velcro straps that lash to inner loops.

The padded camera compartment is easier to access than the Adventure 8, although one must be careful not to spill lenses and other equipment out on the ground.

The Adventure 9 is not all good, however. The see-through lined compartment has limited uses other than as a "collect all" pocket. Tamrac's special "Memory and Battery Management System" is pretty useless if if you utilize a memory case such as Gepe's CardSafe Watertight Memory Card Case . The memory management compartment just take up otherwise needed space.

Despite its larger size, the Adventure 9 has fewer compartments than the smaller Adventure 8. There are times when I would like extra compartments in order to stash small items and extra goodies, such as small bottles of sunscreen, hand sanitizer, and lens cleaner.

As a word of caution, the padded camera compartment is deeper than it looks in the advertisement photos. If your equipment is of standard size (in other words, not gigantic), you may have to be creative with the padded inserts in order to keep your gear from shifting or flopping around inside the compartment.

When accessing the camera compartment, the top quick release buckle tends to constantly flop down into the compartment. I'm constantly annoyed with it, shoving it out of the way to get to my gear, only to have it flop back into the way.

Both the Adventure 8 and Adventure 9 backpacks have waist straps. However, the Adventure 8 has a rear sleeve in which to stash the waist straps when not in use. For some unknown reason, this sleeve was not included in the Adventure 9 pack, leaving the straps to dangle needlessly below the bag. If it didn't reduce the bag's resale value, I would probably cut the straps off just to be rid of the annoyance.

According to the Tamrac website, the rear computer compartment holds 17" laptops up to 15 1/2" x 11" x 2". Most Apple notebooks run a bit slimmer than that, so access is not a problem. My computer, however, runs those exact dimensions and will not fit due to the compartment's zipper limitations. Tamrac should have designed a wider zipper opening for easier access. I'm fearful of forcing the computer, as it may tear the zipper or the compartment.

In conclusion, I was hoping that upgrading from the Adventure 8 to the Adventure 9 would allow me the same functionality as well as the added bonus of hauling a laptop. In the end, the bags shortcomings left a bad taste in my mouth.

Since I got this backpack several weeks ago, I made many trips, including 2 to Singapore. I brought along my Canon XTi (400D), its kit lens (18-55mm), one 28-135mm lens, one 70-200mm / f2.8 lens, one external flash, and a few other small accessories, one 17-in Dell D820 laptop, its charger and mouse. The total weight is over 24 lbs (11 kg). I find this bag much better than the Tamrac Adventure 7 and the Lowepro CompuDayPack, both of which I outgrew quickly. With the Adventure 9, I can access my camera, lenses and accessories, pretty fast. Yes, I do have to put the bag on the ground to get to the camera; But that's the price I am willing to pay for convenience of carrying so many things in one bag.

When in an airplane, I put this backpack in the overhead bin. It's securely out of the way of legs, feet, service carts, etc. Before leaving home or hotel room in the morning, I will make a decision on what to bring. For example, when I was in Singapore over a weekend, I left my laptop and its accessories in the lock box in the room. My backpack was considerably lighter. I was able to find a way to conveniently secure my monopod on the Adventure 9, went out to enjoy the city and took a good deal of pictures.

This backpack is well made. The quality of its materials and workmanship is very high. Its design makes its usage convenient. The features of this backpack are well thought-out. I feel secure carrying my photographic assets around.

The only issue preventing me from giving it a 5 star is the opening for the laptop. It is barely enough for a 17-in laptop; the zipper interferes with putting in or taking out the laptop, from time to time. It seems that the worst time for this interference to happen is at the airport security line.

Hope my review is of use to you.

Update 16 March 2010

Since my review above, I made many more trips to Asia & Europe, as well as within the US. I also upgraded my camera to a Canon 50D. And my company entrusted me with a slightly bigger laptop.

This Tamrac Adventure 9 I purchased back in 2007 still serves me well. It protected my camera, lenses and accessories through high humidity & high heat of Southeast Asia, high dry heat of the desert Southwest of US, extreme cold winter of the central Europe, and many types of weather in between.

In case you like to see the photos I took on my travels, please go to .

Thank you.

This backpack has it all:

Padded compartment for laptops up to 17"

Ample room for large DSLRs and 2-4 lenses/flashes

Space for other items, guidebook, jacket, etc.

A discrete non-camera bag appearance for security

It is a great looking bag too. I am going to the Caucasus and don't want to leave any equipment at the hotel. This bag allows you to carry all your gear with you. The straps are very comfortable. I like the grey/black combination, doesn't scream "I have expensive camera equipment. Come mug me."

I bought this to fit my Canon EOS 30D, EF 24-70 f/2.8L (attached to the camera), EF-S 10-22 & the EF 70-200 f/2.8L.

Does it all fit? Yep, but there's not a whole lot of room left over. I have room in the bottom for the 580EX Speedlite but that's about it.

The top on the other hand is a bit smaller than I would have liked. Sure it holds other stuff...and lunch...OR a sweatshirt...but it's pretty cramped. With a bit of mashing I can just fit a light sweatshirt and my Panasonic PV-GS150 up there but it's a tight squeaze to be sure.

It's comfortable to wear but could really be a little larger overall. And I wish there was a way to secure all the straps...sternum, etc. I don't need those all the time and without a few "ties" of some sort they just seem to be floppin' everywhere.

I only gave it 3 stars because while it really is a very nice backpack it really could stand to be a few inches larger all the way around...and be able to secure or remove the extra straps when not in use.

We recently took this backpack to Mexico, with a laptop, some camera gear, and even put some small portable speakers in the camera dividers. It was heavy but very comfortable to carry. All the gear was well protected but easy to access (handy for airport security!). The versatility of having padded sections AND a laptop pocket (which is accessible without opening the main part of the pack) AND an open area for jacket or snacks makes this the perfect pack for our needs.

DAKINE Girl's Eq Bag, Medium

DAKINE Womens Eq Bag 51Li just purchased this bag from a store yesterday and thought i would give a review for everyone who is thinking about buying this bag. i got this bag in 'pink plaid' and i must say the colors in the picture dont do it justice, the actual colors of these bags are VERY vibrant and beautiful. the side pocket is absolutely great and can actually hold alot of stuff. i purchased the 'large' size of this bag and was IMPRESSED at how much it holds and how big this bag can get when filled up!!! im going on a one week trip to canada and really wanted something big enough to hold all my things, but small enough not to take up all the space in the van (im going with six other people in one small van!). this bag is perfect. im a bigger girl so my clothes are bigger im a size 18 in jeans and XL in shirts and this is all i could fit in the bag

6 pairs of jeans

7 pairs of socks

7 pairs of underwear

5 pairs of pajama shorts

2 pairs of sweatpants

4 bras

10 tee shirts

1 sweater

2 pairs of flip flops

1 pair of chuck taylors (shoes)

hair curler

hair straightener

a 5' by 5' by 8 inch clear box (to hold makeup and jewelry)

1 bottle of shampoo

1 bottle of conditioner

1 can of hairspray

1 medium/large bottle of body wash

1 medium/large bottle of lotion

1 bottle of perfume (tall/cylindricle)

1 loofah

1 hairbrush

1 6 foot by 4 foot beach towel

THATS ALOT OF STUFF!! if you're looking for something to hold alot of things i recommend this bag.

I bought this bag to carry my roller derby gear in, and I just don't think it's going to be able to handle it. I would have expected a "sports bag" to be more durable-feeling, but the fabric feels quite flimsly, as do the zippers. It's very cute though, so I'm going to use it anyway...I just hope my skates don't fall through it after a week of use!

Not only is this bag adorable, but it's really practical, too. I love the side pocket that allows me to keep my shoes or makeup or hairdryer or whatever separate from the rest of my stuff. It also has a slightly rubberized coating on the interior that makes the bag pretty much water proof and indestructible. It's awesome for weekend getaways or perfect as a gym bag. I absolutely love it.

I recently bought this bag because I have to walk about 1/2 mile from a train station to and from work. I was tired of carring multiple bags to carry my daily things needed for work (purse, lunch, gym clothes, ang laptop). I am able to throw everything into this bag with room to spare and makes my walk to work much easier now with just one bag. I love the style and the color (Dylon) of the bag. The material seems to be very durable. I expected the bag to be a little larger, but it fits everything perfectly. I am so glad I went with the 51L.

I ordered the medium bag. It held everything I needed for an entire weekend away. I really liked the side zipper pocket; I put my hiking shoes in there. This is perfect for a weekend getaway bag!

Targus 17" XL Laptop Backpack - Notebook carrying backpack - 17" - black, blue - XL BACKPACK NB CCA

Targus 17' XL Laptop Backpack - Notebook carrying backpack - 17' - black, blue - XL BACKPACK NB CCASE BLK NYLONI bought this backpack used and the seller claimed it was "very good" and it wasn't. It was badly frayed and I had to trim it with scissors. Then the front pouch zipper was un-usable and I bought a new zipper and sewed it in. Then When I gave a low rating for the product the sellor sent me emails every day to change the rating which I did not. After all the work I put into the zippor I wasn't going through the hassle of shipping it back. Don't sell people crap and you won't get a low rating.

The knapsack itself is great as far as size is concerned. I can carry two 17" notebooks ( I have one Asus that won't fit in any notebook bags ) AND a 10" tablet with all the extras with no problems, so if you want space this backpack will do the job.

The designs on these bags are very cute. Because of their small size and good weight distribution, I no longer have issues keeping good posture with my backpack.

Champion Luggage Sidekick 2.0 Backpack

Champion Luggage Sidekick 2.0 Backpack, Pink, 18 InchThis is medium sized backpack perfect for school or urban commuter. I HAVE THE BLACK VERSION. The 'laptop' pocket is NOT padded and cannot hold a business sized laptop. iPad in a bulky case? Yes. EeePc? Yes easily. Macbook Air in a case? About the size limit. Normal sized 12" laptop? Not without protection. The laptop sleeve has no padding. It is a large pocket the width of the backpack and runs to the bottom. (Its not suspended). I use it to store bulky stuff I don't use everyday (Umbrella, small bag of toiletries) -essentially a divider.

The inside front panel has a large pocket; not quite as big as the laptop pocket due to the back to front taper, but sizeable nonetheless. Attached to this pocket is a zippered pocket about 3", 2 pen sleeves, and a 2" pocket.

The outside front panel is a huge pocket which has a zipper tucked under the left edge. The top of the backpack has a small pocket just in front of the handle which holds a decent amount of knickknacks or a small mp3/cell phone (iPhone won't fit). Two elastic water bottle holders are found on the right and left sides of the backpack. To give you an idea of the capacity if this backpack, you can store a 12 pack of soda inside with a liitle room to spare.

The nylon is lightweight and is a little stiff; makes crinkely noises at first (once the nylon relaxes, the noise is gone). This is not a heavyweight backpack -It's not flimsy either. Stitching looks good, no loose threads. The bottom of the backpack is not reinforced or waterproofed.

On the whole I like this backpack as a commuter bag. Has enough pockets to store stuff used daily without the bulk or weight of a laptop backpack. It sits nicely on the shoulder and is compact enough to be unobtrusive.

Everki Glide Laptop Backpack? for 17.3-Inch Compact, Light (EKP129)

Everki Glide Laptop Backpack? for 17.3-Inch Compact, LightHave an HP Elitebook with the 17" screen and the huge brick power supply. This was the second backpack I ordered the first one was another brand 'fits most 17" ' did not include MY laptop. My laptop fits in this one, it will hold some files and the power supply, has a pocket for my tablet, a zipper pocket for pens/pencils, more pockets in the front for pens, pencils, thumb drives, a mouse, etc. The front pocket is really deep and goes down to the bottom of the bag. I'm 5'6 and visit different plant sites for work. The laptop and power supply are heavy, and a shoulder bag made me list to the side like a disabled war ship. This backpack fits well, holds what I need, and looks to be well made with heave stitching, heavy duty zipper, good heavy materials. I will update after a few months about durability, but after trying it for a couple of weeks, I am happy with this purchase.

I ordered this as a graduation gift to my brother and he loved it. He said the best part was that it felt so light despite him having an ASUS 17.3" which is actually bigger and heavy. That was the bad part, the ASUS is so big that it didn't exactly fit in the part where the laptop goes but it did fit inside the backpack over all. It's just a little tight now :( They should have designed it with this in mind I think. I guess it does fit the majority of 17.3" not all. So if you happen to have an ASUS 17.3" know that.

Excellent Backpack, won't hold 17" Gaming Laptop's though. MSi GT70-OND too big. With such a nice bag I decided to keep it and give as gift for someone with NON 8lb Laptop. Ended up with Microsoft Laptop Case from TigerDirect. Can't put $2000 Laptop in backpack that won't zip after it is in.

The pack holds a laptop computer and tablet well. But there are no external pockets (one largish central stretch pouch is inadequate). Delivery was on time.

I was looking for something that was big enough to hold my 17" laptop but wouldn't be huge like most of the 17" laptop backpacks are. That goal was accomplished. My laptop (Satellite P875-S7102) fit, it was a big snug on the corners but it fit. Unfortunately I found a couple design flaws.

My first issue was the straps. They're nicely padded and feel pretty comfortable but they feel like they're made out of brillo pads. I would imagine if this backpack was on for long and touching any part of your skin it would get uncomfortable pretty fast.

The second issue is on the inside of the bag. The material inside is great, soft and protective. Unfortunately the laptop sleeve/pocket came about 4-5 inches short of the top of my laptop. That wouldn't be a big deal except on the other side of that compartment there is a zippered mesh pocket with a zipper that is positioned just above the end of the padded pocket on the other side. That leaves the zipper hanging there to rub and scrape against the side of your laptop that it's against.

Unfortunately I'll be sending it back.

Lassig Vintage Cosmo Bag

Lassig Vintage Cosmo Diaper Bag Oilcloth ,multicolorI love this diaper bag! The color and pattern in not to feminine. The material does not easily soil and is easy to clean if it does. It is a great size for a day out with baby, but it is not a weekend bag. It has plenty of storage space for all of your babies items and your own. I have been using this bag for 6m and not one problem. I would highly recommend this bag

Tenba ShootoutTM Backpack - Medium Rolling

Tenba 632-343 Shootout Medium Backpack with WheelsOk folks...To start I must say that this bag is of the highest build quality. It is put together VERY well...

I ordered it hoping to us it to carry all my new camera equipment. This includes a D300, 12-24, 18-200, 70-300, 50 1.4, 10.5 fisheye, and a medium tripod. Ok, a good amount of gear I admit, but certainly no more than is suggested could fit in it's description...and it did. But just barely and certainly with no room left for anything else.

And this sucker is big...Don't let the "medium" moniker mislead you. Most prominently it is thick and fully loaded with gear, its even thicker. But justifiably so, It's got a lot going on. Lot's of space, roller bag AND backpack with tripod holder.

So...great bag, exceptional build quality, holds a decent amount of gear but not enough accessory room for my needs. Although it did fit all my camera gear, there was very little additional room for all the other miscellaneous do-dads that go along with a camera setup. Manuals, filters, portable hard drives, cleaning gear, cables, batteries, chargers, etc...etc...

This bag will definitely do a good job of carrying and protecting your delicate camera setup...just don't plan on taking it ALL with you. You WILL have to pick and choose what you want to have with you...

All in all a thumbs up...

Another reviewer here called upon his disdain for bags to show how nice this bag is. I will do the opposite. I love bags. The more utilitarian, the better. The intent of this bag is to fit and protect a laptop, a ton of camera gear while still being storable in the overhead bin of a commercial aircraft. Does it meet these goals? Yes, but it is not perfect.

Pros:

Room for lots of gear. I can carry both dSLR bodies and the rest of my gear easily. The bag will accommodate my Canon T1i with a battery pack installed without a problem. There's room for a lot of lenses. Since I am still developing my collection of lenses, I can fit my 3 (70-300mm, 18-200mm and 18-55mm) and have room for several others.

Superb protection of gear. The padding is sturdy and strategically placed. You can move around the protective sections, but not at the expense of sturdiness. I say this because some of the bags I have seen will allow you to move the padding, but the fabric separates from the padding itself. This causes sagging and things move around a lot in the bag. This bag by Tenba avoids this problem.

Adaptable. I can use the wheels with the straps all stowed/hidden. The hidden straps don't get in the way when storing at the house or in the plane. Then, fairly easily, I can unzip one zipper, connect two D-rings and close one piece of double-sided Velcro to make the bag a backpack. Pretty easy. And, there is a way to get into the side of the bag to get gear. (More on this later)

Waterproof. The bag is virtually rain-proof even before you put on the included rain cover. Some people have complained about the zippers being stiff. This is a feature, not a defect. The zippers are waterproof so you can hike or travel and not worry about your gear getting wet. Then, you can take out the cover, and your bag becomes completely waterproof.

Tripod holder. Able to adapt to any size tripod. Very nice.

Accessories included. An iPod/phone pocket and media wallet are both included. These are made to snap onto the belt.

Straps and wheels. Straps are comfortable and the waist belt is substantial enough to take the weight off the shoulders. The waist belt is not as substantial as a Kielty hiking bag, but they are nice and effective. The wheels are not cheap.

Laptop compartment Fit my laptops (both my 10 inch and my 17 inch laptop, but not at the same time, of course).

Cons

Size The bag is bigger than the medium moniker suggests. The bag will not fit in commuter plane overhead bins, but it will fit in larger aircraft bins.

Weight The bag is heavy. Put your gear in and it's heavier. :)

Pockets The pocket system is nice, but not as nice as it could be. There are three internal pockets on the inside of the main flap. Two are translucent and one is opaque. There are two larger pockets on either side of the outside of the bag. There is one large outside pocket that doubles as a tripod holding system. These pockets are too generic. I like to have cubby holes for everything. These are just large storage spaces. (personal preference, not a defect)

No real quick access. The zippers are slow to open due to their design to protect (a very nice feature, IMO). The side pockets have access panels into the main compartment, but I cannot fit my camera through the hole easily.

The outer rain cover uses snaps rather than a better fastener, which makes for a frustrating time keeping the cover on. The snaps come undone way too easily and allow for water to breech the outer rain cover.

A great bag, but could benefit from a few improvements. This is highly recommended. I did a lot of searching and the only other bags I really liked were the Lowepro series. But, this bag had all the items I needed. Look around and compare, but don't pass up comparing the line of Tenba bags for your camera gear needs.

I love my camera and all of my lenses, I hate having to carry them around. That said, this is one of the best solutions I've found. The wheels are convenient. It's fairly large, I can fit 2 bodies (Canon 5DII, 30D), 3 L-series 2.8 lenses (16-35/24-70/70-200IS), a fisheye, 50mm, 2 flashes and quite a few other accessories, including my laptop. It's got so many pockets I even forgot where I put my memory cards on my last shoot. Then I remembered it comes with a CF card case. Sweet.

There are a few drawbacks. Being a backpack with wheels, the wheel track is very narrow causing the bag to occasionally barrelroll as your roll it-you just have to be careful. The outside of the bag is not as padded as I'd hoped either. The best place for the camera is on the the bottom of the bag, but that makes me nervous with all the weight on it.

Otherwise, the design, features and build qualities are top notch. No issues with this. I can't wait to travel with it. At $176 it was an excellent value.

I searched high & low to find a backpack with wheels that I could use as a carry-on bag on small commuter planes. I need to fit some camera gear (Nikon D3S with attached 70-200mm lens, plus a couple other small lenses, speedlights, and odds-n-ends) and a 15" lapop too. It seemed every bag with wheels was gigantic except this one. The video made it look pretty small... I figured it wouldn't fit in the tiny overhead bins but surely since I wouldn't be putting THAT much in it (not taking the laptop on this next trip), it could squish down under the seat in front of me. I measured out the dimensions stated online and it looked like it would work. But as soon as I saw the giant box at my door I knew it was going to be a problem...

First of all, it's a GREAT bag, very well made, and if I could afford to buy 2 bags now, one for commuter travel, and one for say driving jobs (or flying on bigger planes with more overhead space) I would keep this in a heartbeat. Extremely well-made and feels super-durable.

But the durable-ness works against you if you were hoping to "squish" it a little because there is a firm plastic (rubber?) plate in the bottom that gives it support and it won't move. There's nothing you can remove to make it any thinner, either, as the backpack straps, laptop compartment and handle/wheels are all just built in (again, durable, but....). If these maybe zippered off or something it might work for this kind of travel.

I remembered I had an old laptop bag that barely fit under the seats of the commuter planes, so I dug it out and measured it and sure enough, it's only 8" deep (8" x 13" x 16"). I figure loaded with a laptop and all the stuff I used to carry, it might have been 9" deep but that's probably the max height under a seat of a commuter plane so anything deeper/higher than this you would be hard-pressed to fit. Wish I'd remembered this before I ordered the Tenba.

So I'm switching it for a Kata 3N1 30 (says one side is only 7.5" so it SHOULD fit) and buying the Insertrolly separate since I definitely want wheels. My old Kata bag is fine, just too small for this camera/lens setup I now have... plus I figure I can take off the trolley if I need to save space (and it seems nice to just have an extra luggage trolley).

I really wish one of these many bag companies would just address this issue of commuter-plane travel. NO photographer wants to gate-check their gear, and there's such small space for carry-on bags. But camera gear is heavy, as are the laptops we like to take, so the wheels would be a real back-saver for the airport. I've seen messenger-style ones that come close to fitting the bill but if you've already got your hands full with other stuff a backpack style would be easiest to get down the tiny plane aisles. Plus who wants to trek around a city or a jungle with a messenger bag? PLEASE SOMEONE MAKE THIS BAG! :)

I found this product to be every thing it said it would be. It handle two cameras and lends with plenty of room. The company did every thing it said it would do. I recommend it to all.

This backpack is large and roomy for my Alienware 17inch laptop and has quite a bit of extra space. The shoulder straps are sturdy and there is enough padding to make this backpack comfortable on the kidneys and shoulders. There are several pockets and little zippered pouches to seperate everything out. Overall I liked this backpack, the swiss backpack I had previously had more padding but since I am not packing this thing long distances just to and from the car it is great for me.

Briggs & Riley Luggage Executive Clamshell Backpack

Briggs & Riley Luggage Executive Clamshell Backpack, Black, 6.3low profile design is handy. There are enough compartments but the pockets are a bit tight and may not fit all you need when traveling. For instance the Bose headset in case makes the backpack bulge and doesn't accommodate other items well like your PC power adapter. The zippers don't slide all the way down for the rear 2 compartments. The laptop area zipper only slides 3/4 way down the side. Also the design is a bit blah. Its essentially a black box. Not as stylish as the Tumi, not as utilitarian as the Everki.

I am a busy physician who does several educational presentations each year. I have a beautiful Tumi laptop case but it had become too cumbersom through airport security lately. My wife and I have a full set of luggage from Briggs & Riley for >15 yrs and recently experienced the guarantee repairs.(placed all in each piece and in a large garbage bag via Postal Service to California). We got all 4 back like new with no charge in just a couple of weeks!

This Exec. Clamshell Backpack is easy to travel with, light, comfortable and easy open zip/flat in order to not have to take the laptop out of the case(as long as you put nothing else beside it like pointers, cords, etc.. There is no question this will last forever and the best purchase you could have for protecting your investment. I even have room for my Bose Silent headset and papers in the front! Enjoy knowing you have a great quality product!

Buy Briggs & Riley Luggage Executive Clamshell Backpack Now

I had another laptop back pack but it was cumbersome going through security. I was on a trip when the zipper broke on the old bag. Having Briggs and Riley luggage it was the first thing I looked for, I had never seen the clamshell before this and immediately fell in love with it. I travel about 10 months out of the year for business and I put may bags through a lot. I have yet to have an issue with my Briggs and Riley bags and I am sure this will hold up just the same way.

Going through airport security is much easier, no more taking the laptop out, just unzip and flip and your bag and laptop are going through the scanner.

The bag was well thought out and the compartments keep your things organized.

This is a must have for any road warrior.
