From the moment I held this bag at the Tumi store, I knew I had to have it. But I felt I couldn't cost-justify it. So I went through many cross body bags, messenger bags, bag packs, slings, etc. for the purpose of toting a wallet, keys, ipad and compact camera. After spending many months with different bags, I finally gave all those up, and bit the bullet, so to speak, and bought this bag. It is amazing! Fulfilled all expectations in terms of not too big, not too small, sturdy, durable, and the added bonus/security of Tumi's bag registration if it's ever lost. This bag is worth the price undoubtedly.

I bought this item from Amazon after briefly trying to fit my iPad into it at JFK airport on my way to Europe. I didn't purchase right away because the iPad fit more "snug" if you will, and if I was unhappy I had no way to return it. Well after my month in Europe I really wish I would have bit the bullet and purchased it. For the first day or so the iPad is snug but after that the bag almost conforms to the dimensions of the iPad. I am extremely happy with this product. You can't fit a LOT of items in this bag, but it almost makes you slim down on what you take with you, and your back will thank you for it. I take my iPad everywhere I go now along with essentials like wallet, keys, and some other items. Now it's not to say that this bag won't accept more items, just that I love the sleek thin profile it creates.
I definitely recommend this item (when transporting the iPad anyway). Very VERY happy.
** UPDATE **
7 Months later, and now on to the iPad2, this is the best bag I have ever owned! With this bag I take my iPad everywhere. I know it's overkill to carry your ipad with you at all times, but hey, I've needed it at times and it's there. And it's weird because you don't even realize the ipad is in there. The bag is so slim (as is the iPad). Love it, love it, love it. And I haven't seen it around recently. I hope it's not discontinued!

I've had this bag for a while now and I must say it's great. About 7 years ago I purchased a little leather manbag from France when we were on holidays. I was tired of never being able to find my keys, etc in my wife's handbag when we would go out, although I did manage to find the lost city of atlantis in her handbag once but that's another story. At the time it was great and served me well, however my old bag was only big enough to carry your phone (which at the time was a Nokia 6230i), wallet, a set of keys and sunglass case. Eventually I grew out of it and needed to upgrade to something bigger. This was due to the fact that I now carry around a bigger phone (HTC Desire HD), car and motorbike keys, a tumi alpha bravo zip coin wallet (highly recommended), sunglasses and reading glasses, floss, pen, building security tags, earbuds, usb cable for phone and other bits and pieces. I didn't want something that look like I was carrying a 17" laptop or a small rugby team but it had to be bigger than my little French number. So the Tumi got the job and I must say the material is fantastic, easy to clean and looks stylish. It's not too trashy not too posh. The zips seem solid and the flap with magnets built in are great and keeps it in place. The strap is made out of the same material as seatbelts in cars so it will last so long that when they find my teeth in an archaeological find a million years from now, they will be able to actually predict the age purely from the strap of my manbag. I carry mine on my right hand side and when I open the flap, my wallet and phone just seem to be in the right place. I have tested it with a friend's iPad and it fits perfectly, but unfortunately you won't be fitting much else in the back section. So if you are like me and carry around lots of everyday stuff then you might need to decide what is a priority and what isn't if you want to carry an iPad around. I don't have one so it doesn't matter. If you are in two minds about getting a manbag, don't be. Your mates might rib your for the first few months about it when you show up at the footy but eventually they get over it. You may even be lucky enough like I was when after losing his third iPhone and misplacing his house keys due to drunken amnesia, a friend of mine (you know who you are) asked me where he could get one. Apparently it's not that girly anymore.

this is indeed a great bag.
but a bit tight if you want to carry more things (obviously) which is why i prefer and recommend Tumi's NETBOOK Messenger.......slightly bigger , no heavier, and more easily fits your things (kindle, tablet, smartphone, wallet, gum, keys etc)
My son has been using this backpack for about a month now for school (kindergarten). It is an excellent bag for the price, and seems to be well made. It is quite large and fits his folder, library books, lunch, and jacket. Zippers work well. So far no problems whatsoever with this bag, and my son finds it very comfortable to wear.
