High Sierra Evolution 22-Inch Carry On Upright Suitcase
Don't let scare you off. The reason is because the bag maxes out the size of a carry-on item and keeps it simple with a sturdy housing and great rollers.
Can't beat this bag for the price, they've struck the perfect balance with this bag.I purchased my high sierra luggage for my recent trip to Europe. It is very light so you can pack more items in the suitcase than in my heavier carryon if you are concerned about weight. It is easy to maneuver and held up well while being tossed around various airports. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for light weight, dependable luggage. Also the orange color was easy to spot on the luggage carousel!

I bought this specifically because it meets the maximum size specifications for overhead bin storage on most airlines. It satisfies in that respect. However, I have consistently experienced a problem with the bag tending to fall forward; it is prone to tipping over away from the handle side. Very annoying, especially when traveling. This happens even though I have nothing stored in the outer pockets, although that should really make no difference.
Overall quality is satisfactory; I expected the inside to perhaps have some pockets and maybe some padding, but such is not the case.
Given another opportunity to purchase, I would go in a different direction because I get tired of the bag falling over all the time. But, it does get the job done.

Funny thing about this suitcase...looks great. But once you pack it up and try to roll it away, it falls over. We have two of these and one is fine and the other has the handle on the bottom in the wrong place, make it not able to stand up..annoying. Once we get back from the trip we are on, we will try to return it or fix it,Want High Sierra Evolution 22-Inch Carry On Upright Suitcase Discount?
Color is very nice and looks pretty sturdy. I bought it (after looking at many suitcases) because I wanted a very light suitcase that would work for carry-on. I received it a day before our travel. If I had more time, I might of returned it, since the handle is a bit awkward pushing down after it is up. Plus, we found out it doesn't stand up when fill. Yet, we used it on one trip to and from Mexico and so far it has held up okay for carry on. It was easy to fit in the overhead bin space.Gregory Savant 48 Backpack
Here are some things about the pack I would change if I could:
1. The 'secret' pocket along the right side of the pack behind the waist belt seems like a gimmick to me...there aren't many things I would put in there as a backpacker...it could fit a wallet or something, but I don't see much use for it. Now if you're worried that a stranger will root through your pack, then that could be helpful.
2. The hip pockets are mesh which cuts down on weight but don't put anything in there that you aren't willing to put through the elements. Stick your cell phone/camera in a baggie!
3. The side mesh pockets are not elastic so putting a water bottle in them is really hard once the main compartment is packed. I put water bottles in those pockets before I pack the main compartment and it makes things a little more snug in there. I'd like to have more space in my main compartment. So why don't I just get a hydration bladder? Next point...
4. It's hard to get a hydration bladder in and out of the hydration pouch. And the hydration pouch actually sits in the main compartment, so once again, pack it before you pack the main compartment. And a packed hydration pouch means a little less space in the main compartment.
5. This last one is really ticky-tack but the top compartment has a zipper designed to keep out water. Once again, I think that's more of a gimmick because you can actually roll it and tuck it in which could keep it away from water anyway.
Now that I have gotten that out of the way, I can talk about why I love this pack! First and foremost, it fits me and my needs really well. The suspension fits well and feels good on my back. I love the way it aligns with the small of my back and at my shoulders. And at 48 liters, I can have just about everything I need for an overnight/weekend trip with the fam or a more intense, less comfortable 3 day trip with my buddies. Here are some fragmented thoughts on what I like:
-I recently took the Savant out on an overnight trip where temps dipped into the low teens at night, and I had it packed as full as I could get it with anything that could keep me warm (I don't have any winter gear). Loaded with about 30 lbs of gear (carried some extra stuff for people) the pack held up quite nicely. The suspension is basically two thick wires that make a wishbone shape. They did not bend or shift, and the suspension did not bulge...I was worried it would happen but was pleased it did not. Surprisingly, the 30 lbs felt relatively comfortable on the hike if that's even possible. My muscles were tired from fatigue but not because of discomfort. 30 lbs is at the high end of this pack's weight capability and it performed beautifully.
-All of the straps seem to work really well. I haven't experienced much shifting of gear, and the straps stay pretty snug. When I had 30 lbs in it I had to readjust my waist strap but I am a 30 inch waist and pretty slender so I blame that more on my hips...and the fact that I had a bunch of layers on to protect me from the elements.
-You can get into the main compartment in two ways: the top, and there's a zipper that opens up like a horseshoe to get access to the main without opening the top and unpacking everything. I find that very helpful.
-Unlike the side mesh pockets, the outer front pocket has some elastic on it so you can fit a good amount of things in there even with a full main compartment.
-I haven't used the rain cover yet, but I'm sure glad it's there!
Overall, I think this is a great pack. The things I'd change about this pack did not deter me from getting it because there are many things I love about it. This pack fits me really well, it's durable and for the most part the design is really well thought out. I wouldn't have reservations about recommending this pack to anyone interested in a weekend pack.
**UPDATE** I recently went on an overnight backpacking trip and on the way back the clouds opened up and poured. The rain cover worked great as the water beaded up and simply rolled off of the cover. Worked quite nicely.Used shortly after buying on two winter backcountry xc ski trips. Very comfortable (no sore shoulders, back, etc or strained feeling) often after 6-10 hours with 35-40lbs in the backpack.

Fits great, very comfortable. Used it on a trip to Havasupai, a 10 mile hike into the campground in the Grand Canyon. It was our first trip of this type. Pack worked great and had plenty of room for my stuff. Any bigger and I would fall over since I am only 5 feet tall. Lots of pockets and easy access to pack and unpack.I've used my new pack on six snowshoe daytrips. Its exactly what I needed to haul extra cold weather gear and a hydration bladder without having to hang gloves and jackets from straps and carabiners on the outside of the pack. I like the main entry port of the Savant which top-loads or has access from a midway zipper. Great purchase at a good price!!Port Authority Basic Drawstring Backpack

*EDIT* I received my computer today and the case is deffenitly larger than expected. However I enjoy the extra space to store my mac super drive and the charger.*Snug fit, but I find that with most laptop cases. The layer of foam is just right, protects the case from minor bumps and scuffs.

1 Larger wheels. I use the bag when commuting downtown or traveling and I never really carry it like a backpack. The larger 3-inch wheels provide a super-smooth ride and I barely feel I'm pulling it. Fantastic! Had I known it would make such a difference, I would have replaced my old bag long ago.
2 Dedicated section/sleeve inside for large laptops. I have a MacBookPro and the pocket in the back is right inside the opening for easy access.
3 Lots of pockets. Traveling with the laptop, I also have to carry around a fair amount of extra hardware and this has plenty of pockets to keep all that stuff organized and still out of the way so I can put the big stuff in the main compartment.
I was only dubious of the single pole handle as it didn't look as sturdy as the 2-pole models. So far though, I've noticed no difference. All in all, a super buy! This is the best rolling backpack / overnight bag I've ever owned. It looks like a normal small suitcase until you unzip the back pocket and take out the well made straps. Very clever design with a padded laptop area and oodles of space. It also is more squared on the top so I can toss my purse on top and roll through the airport without it slipping off. Then when I pick up my large suitcase, I can toss it on my back so I don't have to roll 2 bags. I travel almost every week and it's held up remarkably well. Highly recommend!I love this bag and have used it for a half year now. I use it around town to tote around a bunch of stuff for dance classes, and I think its cool looking ... apparently so do other people because it gets comments from people all the time. No problems with it. I haven't used it as a backpack but I think I put it on once when I got it and it seemed comfortable. Rolls well. Plenty of pockets with inside pockets for all my electronics, etc.

Smurfs Smurfette Large Backpack with Lunch Kit
My daughter loves this backpack! The lunch box is a little smaller than most but will work. I love that it attaches to the front leaving more room inside the backpack. There is a small pocket just inside where your child can put lunch money or hand sanitizer. Love that the front is vinyl coated which helps with the Michigan winters! I just bought her school supplies for the year and they all fit inside! Good value for money!
SwissGear Computer Messenger Bag (Black)
Good to carry things, but not so bulky that you can't carry it.Note: I'm upping it to FOUR STARS. I think 3 is too low for this product. (I can't change the rating so have had to write it here)
For regular, everyday use, this bag will serve its purpose. It's solidly built and utilitarian. It's also nice and compact, given it's capacity to hold a 15" laptop. The zip-away water bottle holder is a smart and useful touch. And it even has a nice slot in the back so you can thread it onto the extended handle of the carry-on suitcase you are rolling along at the airport.
Having said that, if you do take this puppy on a business trip, watch out.
The main flap is held down by magnets which take, at best, a tenuous hold. They work fine upside-up. But sling that bag in an overhead baggage compartment and you'd better be careful when you pull it out or that copy of Playboy you bought at the airport may wind up in the lap of the 82 year old grandmother sitting next to you.
These magnets are my main beef. I like them for normal use because they provide quick access, but there are times, especially when traveling, when you need to just KNOW the flap is going to stay secure. I understand that the magnets can only be so strong so that they don't wreak havoc on the hard drives of laptops inside the bag. However, I've never understood why bag makers who use magnets don't provide a basic fastener or clip, out of view, under the flap, that you can optionally secure for those times when the bag may get knocked around a bit. It wouldn't impact style, and for a bag that lists for about a hundred and eighty green ones (of course it's available much cheaper), you'd expect a bit of ingenuity.
If you're not worried about having an absolutely securely fastened main flap and if the 'sensible-shoe' sensibility of it's design don't bug you then go for it. Style-wise, it doesn't really have any of the hipness that you'd expect from something calling itself a messenger bag. It just looks too 'luggagy' for that. For me, it's fine for business meetings where a more conservative look is appropriate, but for weekends at a cool cafe, I'd shoot for something a tad more urban.

I got this bag for my husband. He travels for work and has long ways to go in the plane. I got him the swiss gear messanger bag becouse it is not wide it is nerrow so it fits under the seat in the plane. It is light waight and has this nice feature with the water bottle holder in the side. It holds all his papers plus his headphones. The only thing he is not so happy about is that it does not stand up itself but this is probably only because his laptop is 17 inch and the recomended size is 15 inch. I got this bag to lug my 15" Mac Book Pro back and forth to work. Unfortunately, the MBP is a little longer than the bag is tall so it extends above the bag a little. Regardless, the "lid" of the bag has no problems covering everythign up and the strap is long enough to keep everything in place. There is lots of extra room for your cables and a notepad or what ever.
Everything feels solid and well made. I especially like the use of magnets to keep the cover in place, rather than some buckle.
This bag feels like it will last a long time.

I was really excited about the strong, ballistic nylon that this case features it's molded seemingly perfectly for a slim, but rigidly protective Macbook case. Using this on a 2012 15" Unibody Macbook Pro (non-retina), which is the only computer that this case is for, I can tell you that you can expect this zipper to fail very quickly. It is of significantly lower quality than the nylon, used for the case, and is in fact too tight to be able to withstand its own tension a quality control issue, perhaps.Either way, as you'll se in the photo, but the zipper teeth pulled themselves apart around the front edge of the case the very first time I opened the package. Once the zippers' integrity is compromised, it won't hold in the future, especially under similar conditions. Further, when I retracted to the zipper to work out the kink, the zipper pull inexplicably, under no more tension than I would quickly pull any other case zipper just broke right off. Wow.
I have to assume Booq has a lack of oversight in the quality control department, because I can't see such a flawed product being approved by a team of professionals. These are marketed as a premium product, so it is more than reasonable to expect the all-important enclosure mechanism to be fully functional.
It's unfortunate, because I really wanted the Booq Viper case for all of our company machines it was the best-designed style of hardshell I'd found for the Macbook Pro, and was reasonably priced if it worked. I'd give the exterior a 4, and the zipper a -4 (complete failure).
Booq's customer support was responsive, and processed my refund quickly. I asked them if there were an alternative, or if some other batch of cases had received upgraded components but I didn't receive a response to that question, nor did I receive the offer of a replacement. Missed opportunity.
If some case-maker out there were to make a ballistic-nylon hardshell slim case like this, and add something as simple as a properly-fitted flight-jacket style rugged zipper then I'd be glad to purchase your first batch.

Described on Amazon site and on manufacturer's product packaging as suitable for a 15-inch MacBook Pro. My 15-inch mid-2012 conventional (non-Retina) MacBook Pro simply would not fit -the case is too 'slim' to accommodate the MacBook's modest thickness. With considerable care and effort I could get one zipper slider past one corner of the MacBook, but I could not maneuver the second slider past the MacBook's other corner. When I attempted this, the zipper would consistently separate behind the slider.I'm more than a little disappointed -the case's semi-hard shell has the potential to provide superior protection to my expensive new MacBook. I am reluctantly returning it.

Original Review, 2013-04. One star.
I do not recommend getting a Viper case, or any Booq case. What was once a quality product has fallen and become useless.
This is my second Booq Macbook case and everything has changed. The first case I bought, in 2007, was for my 15" MacBook Pro and I used that case around the world and it performed excellently. It functioned well as a sleeve or as a full case, in a backpack or a messenger bag, zipped well, was sized perfectly, and lasted longer than the laptop.
I didn't even hesitate to order a Booq case for my 2013 15" MBP, but was immediately disappointed by the product revisions. The metal zipper looks nice but jams frequently, even when there is nothing in the case. The zipper also doesn't bind right and splits itself, making for a huge headache getting the laptop out of the case. This case will not easily function as a sleeve as the previous versions would. It is near impossible to slide the laptop out of the case, I assume it is because the case is slightly too small.
I suspected that my case might have a defective zipper or have been mis-tagged as a regular 15" instead of a 15" Retina or something, and so I tried to contact Booq customer support for a replacement. Their website was broken and wouldn't take support requests. After a lot of poking and prodding I got it to take my support request but never heard a reply.
------------
Edit 2013-05, Two stars.
Given my dissatisfaction with the product, I decided to see how I could improve it. After all, I had nothing to lose, it was awful to use. I noticed that part of the problem with the zippers binding, splitting, and losing their zipper pulls was that the carriage loop which holds the pull was lifted, causing the carriage to misalign or even release the pull. It too me a few tries to find the right plier to crimp it back down, but it is functioning much better now.
As for the size of the case, I found and removed the problem. There are two elastic strips near the bound side of the case. These strips fold improperly and lay around the wrong part of the laptop, causing the case to fit incorrectly . The incorrect fit makes removing the laptop from the case difficult because the case is already fit so well to the laptop. I can see no benefit from these elastic strips for my use of this case, so I cut them out.
Given these modifications, I'm updating my review and rating from one star to two. If anyone from Booq is reading this, you should stop putting those elastic bands in your cases.
