I love this backpack. Aside from matching my white cadillac truck perfectly, it is quilted and very comfortable. It is a very classy looking backpack.

Don't know how long this backpack will last yet, and it looks good, but I didn't know it has such a thick lining. I bought it specifically for my trip to the South. This one will definitely make my back sweat. I wish there was a way to see the material closer online before buying this fall/winter item.

Thule Crossover 38-Litre Rolling Carry-On

Anytime a company makes something that does more than one thing, you're going to find a collection of compromises, and Thule's suitcase is a perfect example. Thule made their Crossover brand of suitcase a combination carry-on rolling suitcase and a backpack. In doing so, they made a very comfortable backpack, but they sacrificed some internal storage to do so.

Before discussing the compromises, let's dig into the overall build quality, which is great. The wheels are big and solid, with sturdy metal axels that should keep it rolling straight. The outside material looks thick and durable, and Thule states that it is water repellent. The zippers look strong and zip without snagging, although they are not water resistant. The backpack straps have metal hardware that should wear well. The suitcase is also properly weighted so that it doesn't easily fall over when you set it down or bump into it (this is a pet peeve of mine). Also, the overall suitcase looks professional, so it would be easy to take on a business trip as well as a vacation.

Okay, now for the compromises to make this thing into a backpack. First, the backpack straps are in a compartment with much more room than they seem to need, which means that there is less room for packing your belongings. This extra room has its advantages, though, because the backpack is VERY comfortable because this area naturally forms into my back (I'm 6'1" and about 165 lbs). The straps pull out easily, too, because of this extra room, and they quickly attach to the sides of the suitcase. The straps are also placed on the opposite side from the wheels, so you won't get your clothes dirty. My only reservation with the straps is that they attach BEFORE the zipper, which means that they will pull on the zipper over time. I'm not sure if this will turn out to be a design flaw, but it's worth stating.

So the primary disadvantage to the suitcase is the room necessary for the backpack and the extra-sturdy wheels. I was easily able to fit three pairs of jeans, three shirts, three t-shirts, four pairs of socks and four boxers into the main compartment. The side compartments could probably hold a couple more pairs of jeans plus toiletries and a book or so. It's not a lot compared to other carry-ons I've used, so if you're looking for a lot of room, this probably won't be your ideal suitcase.

In summary, this is an ideal suitcase for me. I like the sturdy hardware and the little touches that show that someone really thought about how to make a great combination suitcase/backpack. (There's a special inset designed just to hold large goggles for skiing, for example.) This backpack was made for the part-time adventure traveler who likes to pack light and move fast. If this doesn't describe you, then you may not like this suitcase as much as I do.

UGH-O a cross-over bag that is a carry-on bag with wheels and doubles as a backpack; this can't be good. So I take it out of the box, quality is excellent but I expect nothing less from Thule. The bag is very nice, material made very well and says it's water repellent. Water repellent huh, we'll see about that. Took the bag outside, turned on the hose and let me kids have at it! After 5-10 minutes; YUP its water repellent. The overall functionality is excellent, wheels: perfect, construction of the bag perfect. The bag will not easily tip over. The backpack strap has metal hardware so it should last for a while. Very professional looking and very easy on the eyes so you can use this piece for business and personal.

If you don't know how to pack, this suitcase is not for you. If you're a heavy packer, this suitcase is not for you. This suitcase is perfect for me. I pack light on my business trips so I need something that looks great, maneuvers well, can turn into a backpack when I want, take a beating and can fit in an overhead compartment on a plane.

The bag ROCKS only if you travel light.

I guess I expected more from a Thule product. First off, even though it is called a carry-on, it may not fit in to the guidelines of several airlines due to its dimensions it's a little too wide and tall. Second,in my opinion, it has one major design flaw: when you unzip it, there is a slope to it. Basically, one side of the compartment is taller than the other. When it's zipped you don't notice it because the cover is built the same way so overall you get the same size all around, but it makes it difficult to pack. You can't shove things in because there isn't necessarily a side to hold it in. Also, while the dimensions are slightly bigger than another traditionally shaped (21") carry-on that I have, this one actually holds less! This is really only good for a weekend trip, and for that I still think a duffle bag would hold more and take up less space overall. I definitely expected better from this.

This suitcase has some great features for travel through airports and on airplanes: large wheels that roll well, easy to raise and lower handle, easy to grasp handle on the case to pick up, alternative backpack straps (that are not too difficult to figure out), outside protected compartments for laptap and glasses/ipod/blackberry type devices, large inner compartment and mesh compartment that are padded. I have used it with the extended handle as a roller bag which is its best suited use; I have also found it works pretty well when picked up and used as a backpack for shorter lengths.

The weak points are the backpack straps get in the way of accessing the laptop compartment and need to be moved out of the way--not a big problem but prevents a 5-star rating. I also wish it had a way to strap loose articles in the inner compartment like books, etc. It is a little heavy to use regularly as a backpack for long periods of time and the protective shell makes it a little uncomfortable as a backpack.

I think I definitely be happy with this suitcase for travel, and it will be adequate for daily use with my laptop and book, notebooks and stuff.

The dvd user's guide is worthless; it is 57 seconds of an ad for the suitcase without any helpful ways to use it. The instruction brochure is also useless in offering help. Using the backstraps took a minute to figure out but is not difficult.

I purchased this carry-on based on the quality of a Thule Crossover 56L rolling duffel I own. That bag has made six trips to France so far and, except for a few scratches on the aluminum fittings, it looks like new. The wheels and handle and zippers are rock solid, and if you don't like the big silver Thule logo on the bag, it's easy to identify when it comes tumbling down the baggage conveyor.

I've only made one airline trip with this bag, but I'm pleased so far. Because it has a slightly rounded shape and the compartment for the backpacking straps takes up a little space, the 38L doesn't hold as much as a typical 22" carry-on. The available space is fine for my purposes, and it holds more than it looks like it will, but if maximum stowage is your goal, this may not be your solution. The rounded shape makes it easy to stash in overhead storage bins, however, and my only wish is that the straps could be removed and a bit of storage reclaimed for those times when you know you won't be carrying it.

The 38L is probably not for everyone but my experience with Thule Crossover luggage has been great and I recommend it highly. Unlike a lot of department store luggage brands, Thule products don't seem to be discounted much, but I found this one for about 30% off on Amazon. So shop around.

Tumi Luggage Dror Backpack

Purchased this backpack about a week ago in a Duty Free in South Korea. It cost me US$ 577.

I had wanted to buy this bag for over a year now. But because of its price was a bit reluctant whether I really need one that expensive.

Started using it just right after the receiving from DF counter.

It a nice backpack. Like the function that you can carry it with a handle from the tope and side.

it is very convenient.

Cons. Because it is deep, would expect to have more separate compartments.

So, if you, like me, travel with a lot of smaller objects in your backpack then be prepared to have some elastic container, so you stuff could be neatly placed and retrieved.

When buying please remember that it is a piece of luxury not a typical backpack. So it the price.

As for me, I am happy.

The inside is quite roomy and comes with a removable plastic zipper bag that you can use for jewelry, liquids, cords, and small items you don't want going all over the inside of your suitcase. Again, this luggage is great for the price of KMART brands, but has some minor flaws, the white wheels are "silly", in terms of luggage. The fabric, needs to be scotch guarded, before use. for certain. Since this will stain up. I would say the hard-side hybrid of this could take a little more wear and tear, but this is FASHION luggage, and she be purchased with that in MIND. Good Price, 2 day prime shipping, and good color, I would say buy this to make a statement and to be en vogue.

High Sierra 1800-Cubic Inches Opie Daypack

I bought this backpack to walk around my college campus. I've used a messenger bag for a long time, but it finally got to my right shoulder, and I decided it would be smart to wear a backpack again. It does its job, and it is very well priced. However, you can tell why it is priced the way it is. The material does not feel quite as nice and sturdy as other backpacks I have owned, and after less than a month of use, I have found that the material on the arm loops will occasionally scratch my wrist when I take it off. Not a big complaint, it just means I have to be careful, or maybe loosen the straps before taking it off. Overall the compartments are nice, but I wish there were more interior pockets to actually organize stuff. I end up throwing everything that's small in the very front pocket, and it takes a few moments to find what I need. One of the big selling points was that I knew I wouldn't be lugging a TON of stuff around, and I didn't want a loose and floppy giant bag with two notebooks in it. This bag could hold maybe three THICK books or two notebooks and a textbook as I have. It's not stuffed, but there isn't much extra room. Perfect size. Also, a little ingenious thing I love is the pencil holder in the left arm loop. It's very useful for one of my field classes. Overall, I wish the arm loop material was softer and there were more compartments, but it's a very good bag.

It's the perfect size to fit in textbooks that are quite heavy and still have room for other paper works. The number of zippers and pockets this backpack has is perfect. I really, really like this backpack, and the colors are perfect as well.

I purchased this bag for a backpacking trip through Thailand in the fall of 2011. I was looking around for the best value for a pack, and was surprised to see a Kelty pack at such a competitive price. I just received this backpack and it is definitely worthy of its name. You can haul quite a lot! The main pocket is even bigger than I anticipated. This is great for when I travel. I think this will make a great weekend/short trip bag with plenty of space for an extra outfit or two, a pair of shoes, and toiletries along with my laptop (15.6" fits perfectly in the laptop pocket), kindle, and the other usual odds and ends.

That being said, I loaded it up with about the average day-in-the-city load and the main pocket just seems cavernous. But the side load adjuster straps do help with that. The shoulder straps are comfortable and easy to get in and out of, even while heavily loaded. And the chest strap can slide up or down the shoulder straps for individualized placement and comfort.

So, it's comfortable and spacious with enough small helpful pockets for keeping little stuff easily accessible. In short, I love it! And with JanSport's history of excellent workmanship and lifetime guarantee I'm believing I'll continue to love it for many years.

Only thing that would have been nice was a optional shoulder strap.

Diaper Diva Zipper Diva Bag

This is a great bag and it's size is deceptive (in a good way). I had a couple other diaper bags and I finally found the right one. One was way too large... I ended up donating that one to my mom so she'd have a diaper bag for when she's babysitting. Another was just a big abyss with no pockets at all.

This one is perfect. I put three nine-ounce bottles, a three serving formula dispenser, baby food and a spoon, two burp cloths and two bibs, a few small toys, the included changing pad and my wallet in the main compartment. I put five size four diapers and a small tube of rash cream in one of the front pockets, a wipes case in the center front pocket (it's the widest) and more of my stuff in the other front pocket (cell phone, chapstick, hair ties, etc). I keep an extra outfit and, now that it's cooling off, a receiving blanket for my son in the back pocket (there are two pockets in the back of the bag, on the outside).

The cell phone holder is essentially useless you have a small flip phone or bar phone... and even that might be cutting it. But, it's easy to remove since it's just held on with velcro.

There is a bottle pocket, but I haven't used it yet.

I really like the attached stroller clips. The too-large diaper bag that I had came with clips, but they weren't attached to the bag (you had to either leave them on the stroller and hope they didn't get lost or keep them in the bag) and they were thin rubber (which ripped through after three uses). I really like how these are attached to the bag... nothing to lose or store.

The fabric of the bag is really heavy canvas and the zippers are heavy duty. They're not the cutesy (and flimsy) zippers that most bags have.

I think my favorite part is the messenger style of the bag. I hate going into public bathrooms, only to find that there is nowhere to put the diaper bag. The hooks on the changing stations all seem to be long gone and only a few select stores/restaurants have thought to install a shelf or a hook on the wall. So you end up having to put your diaper bag on the floor. Ew. This bag can stay attached to the parent while you're changing diapers.

So, to sum it all up. Great bag, lots of space. I can't imagine needing to take anything else for one child. I think I over-pack and there is still have plenty of space. The only negative I can come up with is the tiny cell phone holder and that's not enough for me to drop a star.

THIS BAG WE BOUGHT WHEN MY DAUGHTER WAS BORN AND IT LASTED ALL THE WAY UNTIL WE NO LONGER NEEDED IT WHICH WAS 2 YEARS LATER. WE WASHED IT AND IT NEVER FADED OR LOST ITS NICE LOOK. THIS BAG WAS MADE TO LAST A LIFETIME AND WE DONATED IT TO ANOTHER MOTHER AND SHE IS STILL USING IT 2 YEARS LATER. THIS BAG IS WELL WORTH THE PURCHASE.

I've had about 3 diaper bags that really didn't meet my needs until I found this one. It has lots of room and pockets. The cell phone holder really won't fit any of the newer phones, but there are plenty of pockets to put them in. The extra pockets really gave it plenty more space and helped to organize way better than other diaper bag I've seen. I love how you can unbuckle the strap. It came in handy many times when my daughter fell asleep on my shoulder and it makes it much easier to balance the weight when carrying my daughter. OGIO Endurance 9.0 27" Duffel

This bag doesn't have the same transition ease as the TYR but there is a pocket for everything and the construction is very good. Doesn't take a thousand straps to hold everything together like the TYR product. I really like the vault for your bike computer, glasses, etc... The wet suit storage is amazing. No more swinging wet suit! The only thing that is missing from the bag is a hip belt to take the weight off your shoulders. An added plus would be a cell phone pocket on either the shoulder straps or the previously mentioned missing hip belt.

I purchased this bag to replace the Ogio "All Terrain Duffel Bag" which I loved but was too small for what I needed. Working full-time as a paramedic working on a shift schedule, I had some specific desires, and this bag fit them all.

I needed a bag that would fill the following conditions:

Pack it completely on the last of my consecutive days off, to take with me to my station for three days of riding in the morning after coming off shift, complete with before-ride and during ride nutrition, shoes, bottles, and all of my electronics;

Keep my helmet, Halo pro-tex, and Oakley lenses/cleaner all together INSIDE the bag;

Store all of the other accouterment essential to riding stored as well, including sunscreen, chamois cream, embrocation, extra gloves, arm warmers, leggings, shoe covers for cold weather, recovery drink mix, extra gels and other nutrition items, extra hydration drink mix, and so forth.

I still use this bag every day for my cycling gear and needs, and I can't imagine living without it now. I have one thing I don't particularly care for about this bag, and that's the lack of a shoulder strap, but to be honest it's not that big a deal to me personally. The straps permit it to be worn like a backpack, but I have never found any need to carry it that way either.

Just for the record, this is a LARGE bag. If you are looking for just a generic, everyday to-the-gym bag, this bag will probably be too much for that. This bag is definitely aimed at people who race, or do a lot of training on bikes (or triathlons), and really does an outstanding job at that.

there's a pocket for everything, I have all the stuff i want with me when i go ride and i know where everything is, after my ride i throw my sweaty gear in the vented pocket underneath, put my shades in the sun glass pocket and grab my recovery drink from the outside bottle pocket and I'm good to go. You can tell that they have really put some thought into this bag every detail is great, the handles that double as shoulder straps are comfy and handy, I love the vented sweaty clothes pocket, the sunglasses pocket was initially too small for the case of my Radar Switch lock glasses, but oh wait they have made it so that you can take the protective insert out of the pocket so it can fit larger glasses cases. they really have through of everything and the quality is great. the only thing that's a bit of a pain but there is no getting around is that if you stick your shoes in the shoe pocket and say, your camel bak in the opposite pocket, there really isn't a whole lot of room in the main pocket, particularly if you use the awesome helmet pocket. but really unless they found a way to defy physics there is no way around this.

I took this bag with me on a trip to Colorado and you would not believe the bag envy from my fellow riders.

I love this bag. Large separate vented area for wet / dirty clothes. Large main compartment for main gear. 2 side compartments, 1 big enough for 2 pairs of shoes. A hard case area for things like GPS watch, MP3, earphones etc. A cell phone hard shell area. You can carry it like a duffle bag or wear it like a back pack. The only down sides (and this is very minor) is it might actually have too many pockets. I can't find anything to use the smaller side nutrition etc pockets for. Luckily, they don't take much space, so I don't feel like any space is wasted, more like an option that I just don't take advantage of.

I have had many gym bags. I have used duffle bags, duffle bags with several compartments, back packs, etc. This thing is far and away the best bag I have had, and was totally worth the money.

Quiksilver Waterman Men's Beach Bag

Wanted a tote with a large opening-got it. Great for pool and beach. Would like to see a couple of mesh pockets for water bottle, etc. The zipper pocket in front is adequate but could have used some more space for extras like keys, wallet, etc. Overall the best out there. I could design a better one though!

Pro: My daughter liked the patterns and spaciousness of this bag. Given this bag could be rolled, she didn't have to carry stuff on her back anymore. Even if it needed to be carried (when it rains), its comfortably padded.

Cons:

We had this bag delivered on December 6, 2012. Considering the December is a short month for school, the bag is hardly used for 2 months. In early February 2013 after about a month and half use of the bag, most of the zippers (including two big zipers for main openings) of the bags are broken making it equivalent to an open trolley to roll stuff in it. I wish there was warranty of even for 6 months would make this bag worth its price, but given the short meaningful life of the zipper, I would give it only one star.

If they had made with more durable zipper, i'd give it 4 star but we are not buying wheels for a bag, and working zipper it just isn't anything.

I got this for my daughter who is in Kindergarten. It's a little big but she loves it. The wheels are big and smooth and great quality. It would get 5 stars if not for both large pouch zippers, which have already split apart after only a month. Since they are both double zippers I can play around with them and get them to close, but this is going to get old really fast and she can't do it herself.

The bag has been useful to carry my laptop and accessories. I prefer rolling away than using it as a backpack but if I have two roll away bags it helps me to have the back pack option which I like. So far it has been a great friend. Love the vibrant colors.

Some things could have been better for example, the front zipper cannot be closed easily if you have your laptop and a few things zipped up in the back compartment. A little extra fabric on top would have helped. The laptop compartment is not sturdy so once you place the laptop and strap it with the velcro it flips inwards and you need to adjust other things around it.

It is worth the money. Have used it on two trips since I bought it. So far so good.

Samsonite Luggage 15.6 Inch Xenon 2 Slim Brief

Nice product. Light weight. However, having used the Xenon 1 I expected higher quality. The materials that are used for this briefcase are of lower quality most of the fabric, the carrying handle, and plastic instead of metal. The bottom of this briefcase is not padded at the level that the Xenon 1 was.

it is one top loader empty from any pockets inside it, so when I insert my laptop, and would like to put the cable, it might scratch it because there is nothing to keep it away from the laptop surface

the front pocket is quite fit small stuff, but couldn't include the cable there, so i had to wrap the cable with soft cloth bag

the bag looks very nice for business, elegant and style, it is just not so much practical for business if you need to include some paper work as it had to be with the notebook which might bend the papers if the laptop move up and down during your move in car

the fabric is very nice, but not made for hard work, so it need a special care and cleaning, and that might create extra cost for cloth caring products

Compared to it's larger cousin, this bag is really small (one pocket) but it is really light. So light that I fear loading it down too much because the strap clasps are plastic (unlike the bigger version with metal clasps). Not a bad bag for everyday light usage, but I would recommend the larger one over this one.
