My daughter picked this bag out for her 7th grade bookbag/backpack for back to school.....within 3 weeks the straps were falling off, I had to re-sew and reinforce all the straps. 3-4 weeks later the straps were coming off again, the main clasp had fallen off, AND the entire bag was frayed/shredded all over....it's made of a cheap-ish, nylon-type of material that just cannot stand up to school use. It is now in the trash before one academic quarter has ended! We bought the LL Bean messenger bag, which we should have done to begin with made of a much sturdier canvas, not nylon, and obviously super-sturdy like their backpacks, which have never failed throughout many years of abuse from my grade-schoolers. This bag could possibly be OK if you plan on not putting anything in it or taking it anywhere....but if you want a reliable, sturdy bag, please save your money and look elsewhere. This bag looked like it was very sturdy made and would last the entire school year for my daughter at college. Well, she is still carrying it, but it is virtually falling apart and it looks like it was uncovered at some archaeology digsite. That means it lasted all of 6 weeks. Not good. Too bad I can't return it for a refund.Edit two weeks later from the initial review the bag completely broke. I have downgraded my two stars to one.

It's fifteen minutes after we took it out of the bag it arrived in and one of the clips broke upon opening it for the second time. It is a great looking bag, but we don't have time to return it for a replacement before my daughter leaves for Spain.Disney Princess Large Rolling Backpack

Because of the metal, it will not likely pass through airport security.
While wearing the belt, it tends to curl up or fold over.
I had another belt that, although the plastic snap had cracked, still worked better for me.
I usually wore that money belt instead of this one.
The latter money belt Eagle Creek Travel Gear Undercover Money Belt was also purchased from here.

my daughter loves this bookbag. it looks great and is high quality. seems very durable. has plenty of compartments but they don't have velcro or buttons or zippers to keep them down. looks great and is much better than those one pocket plastic bookbags that go for 25 bucks.THIS IS A GREAT BACK PACK , SIZABLE AND OUR LITTLE GRAND DAUGHTERS LOVE TO PUT THEIR ITEMS INTO IT. THE OUTSIDE POCKETS ARE VERY HANDY AND THEY JUST LOVE IT!ShedRain WindPro Mini Umbrella Auto Open & Close
Overall, if you're in need of a good umbrella, this product is the way to go. I bought this umbrella for the "heavy duty" -the gusty, stormy days of NYC. And it arrived just in time for the storm that's flooding the east coast right now. While it does a damn good job of standing up to the wind gusts, it doesn't do as great of job of repelling the heavy rain. The fabric saturates in a heavy squalor and then starts to drip down.
Not a big deal since it stops the bulk of the wet, I'll probably just add a layer of scotch guard to it or something.

This is a very nice mini umbrella, and does auto open AND close. It has a very thick sturdy shaft, and is made with semi-flexible spars that bend in the wind and prevent the umbrella from becoming a sail. It also has a vent hole on top, so in all it is quite stable in high winds. It is not the lightest umbrella ever, due to its sturdy construction, but it is light and small enough to carry around all the time in a backpack or briefcase no problem. I'm quite satisfied with this product. My only complaint would be that the button is kind of hard to push for auto-close, so if you have a weak grip you might want to try an umbrella with a more sensitive mechanism. On the other hand, this does effectively prevent accidental closures.Read Best Reviews of ShedRain WindPro Mini Umbrella Auto Open & Close Here
I live in New York City, where we're constantly walking, and in need of good umbrellas that can handle wind. I used the GustBuster before, which was great, but wanted a more portable option. I thought this wood be good. The reality is that it doesn't protect from wind much better than a regular umbrella. At winds where a typical umbrella might turn upside down, this one does as well.
I'll keep it as a regular umbrella, as the automatic open and close is very convenient and works well. But when I know there's going to be wind, I'll break out the gustbuster instead.

I lose umbrellas. I leave them everywhere. I have left them in cabs, on trains, and on buses. I leave them at restaurants. Actually, any public place where the chance of recovering a lost item is slim that's where I tend to leave my umbrellas. For this reason, I typically purchase cheap umbrellas. Disposable umbrellas. Ones that would inevitably end up in an umbrella graveyard: jammed into a garbage bin with other umbrellas suffering the same fate...torn material, broken ribs, rusted wires, worn-out handles. Those disposable umbrellas were ones that I wouldn't be upset to leave as a 'gift' to the next commuter occupying my seat on the train.A couple years ago, I embraced a new approach. I bought an expensive umbrella. This ShedRain WindPro one, actually. It was a navy blue colour called Heather, but despite the feminine name I still felt manly whilst using it to shield myself from the elements. I paid around $40, so I figured that losing this umbrella would be more difficult. I would pay attention to its whereabouts, because it was something of value to me. No longer disposable. It is a great umbrella. It's not huge, and is insufficient to fit two people underneath, but it fits nicely in a backpack, not taking up much space, so I can always have it with me. Together with this umbrella, we fought storm after storm. No gust of wind or spray of precipitation could defeat us... Sadly though, Heather met her demise. True to her strengths, she stayed open to the end...but that was her defeat. Her closing mechanism had malfunctioned, and she would not collapse. I was gutted.
I sent an e-mail to ShedRain to try my luck with the lifetime warranty. I had since moved from the US to Australia, so I prepared myself for the anticipated polite, but negative response to my query about a replacement. I expected that the warranty would be void overseas. To my surprise, after describing what had happened, ShedRain indicated that they would replace Heather at no cost not even shipping to Australia. Phenomenal! They indicated that they understood international shipping was expensive, so I wouldn't need to send my broken Heather to Portland. They'd just send me a new one. ShedRain's warranty policy was excellent. Well today, I received the replacement and I can't wait for it to rain. Seriously Mother Nature, if you're reading this review...Bring it.
K-Cliffs Gray and Black School Bag / Sports Backpack
Lots of pockets, sections, little places for pens and what have you, the design has a lot of variety which means versatility. The top handle does its job fine, the main straps have plenty of length for my large, 6-foot frame, and the adjustment slider-lock-things never gave up an inch I hate sliders that fail. Comfort was fine even on 1 shoulder. The main compartment is cavernous, and the use of adjustable side-snaps to contain the upper part of the main compartment goes a long way to rein in floppiness. The mesh water bottle pocket on the side is a bit large for the little 500ml waters I usually buy, they were loose but never slid out. Build quality for what I paid is downright decent no loose threads or thin panels or dead zippers or poorly-stitched sections everything was nice.
This is not an ideal bag for a netbook or an ipad or any medium-small device without secondary protection, they will bounce around inside, the bag is too big for that sort of thing, and the smaller pockets while considerable are too small for something like that. But MP3 players, phones, digital recorders, 6" tablets and e-book readers, that sort of thing, there's a nearly endless supply of storage for that, and while I haven't used it yet, the cord pass-through port on the upper right leads to a clear-fronted hanging pouch at the top of the main compartment not a new concept perhaps, but a welcome additional level of versatility. The number of places to put things can be overwhelming, but if you plan out your packing based on priority the way I do, you'll appreciate the ability to have quick sections on the front that just zip straight for notepads and pencils, and curved zip pockets behind them which hold so much more before even getting into the main compartment. Or, if you're in a rush, you can just dump stuff in the 2 larger front compartments and still have enough room to rummage through those sections later when you have time.
In terms of looks, the pictures are mostly accurate mine doesn't have the red circle dealies, but the rest is true. However, I agree with the other reviewer who said the photos really don't convey the quality, it doesn't look cheap or thin in real life, the back is padded, the gray isn't tacky, the mesh is tight. I had it next to a friend's backpack that was similar in coloring and cost around 5x as much as I paid, and he was constantly mistaking my bag for his.
My review cannot yet speak to the longevity of this backpack since I've only had it 1 week, but I don't get the sense that it's going to fail me. Yet even if it did, at this price I'd happily buy another of it.

I need a big backpack for nursing school and I'm way too cheap to buy the roll around luggage that is so popular amongst the overburdened. This backpack is the deepest I could find for the price. It's big enough for my needs and has lots of pockets, which I love. I though the picture was ugly, but the backpack is much better looking in real life. The material is not as cheap as I thought it would be and it seems to be a solid construction. All in all this was a great buy.Read Best Reviews of K-Cliffs Gray and Black School Bag / Sports Backpack Here
I have had a hard time keeping my teenager with a backpack that takes the pounding he gives his. One that doesn't have a zipper come undone and one that has better sewing at the corners! This fills these requirements. He has used it for a couple of months now and I have high hopes it will last another seven months, maybe more!Want K-Cliffs Gray and Black School Bag / Sports Backpack Discount?
Have had this product for a little bit and it hasn't let me down! Great product, especially for the price. Holds my 15" laptop, my smaller art supplies, doesn't add weight, has lots of pockets. My only complaint is that it doesn't have a built-in laptop sleeve, but I'm not going to be picky because of the price and the fact that in general the bag is great. I'd definitely recommend this to a friend, and fellow students.Dakine Girls Hana Back Pack

I got this backpack because i wanted a smaller bag to take to school. It looked really good online, and seemed the right size. The price was pretty good for what you get, but because i live in Australia, the postage added significantly to the price. The bag came sonner than i expected, which was really good.I got the Sierra design, which i LOVE :) so, the bag is pretty average. Unlike the Garden backpack or the Prom one (which were others i was considering) it doesnt have extra pockets inside the main ones. The big main compartment is just that: no laptop sleeve or anywhere to put the little things in. The smaller front pockets is the same, and things get lost really easily in there. the "sunglasses" pocket is quite good, though! it is small, but large enough to fit my phone, ipod, gum, student Id, lip balm etc, and i don't have to worry about mmy phone or ipod getting scratched because it is lined with fleece. THe only problem with this is that the fleece is REALLY thin, so i'm not sure how long it will last.
The fabric seems durable, although the poakctes aren't lined. This backpack is overall quite good thoughm, it fits all my school books, lunch box, water bottle, pencil case in the bottom of the main compart, ent, and then there is room for a jumper or something on top of that! The smaller front pocket is also larger than it first appeared, and i can put my umbrella, wallet, and heaps of things in there! The straps are pretty good. They are thinner than i expected but comfortable and don't dig in to shoullders or chest.
I love the way the bag feels and it brings everything in close to you, and somehow makes things seem lighter than my old backapack.
I recommend getting this backpack if you're not really fussed about all the little things I mentioned in the review. If you carry around heapss of little things and like to have pockets and pencil holders in your bag, this isn't the backpack for you.
But overall, a fairly good purchase! thanks Amazon :)
Horses in Pink Backpack

This is a good over night bag for my 8 year old but not for school. It is sized for a toddler/ preschooler, and I was ordering it to carry to school everyday. I'm disappointed but my daughter loves it and uses it when she visits her friends. This backpack is made by Wildkin. We ordered the pink horse backpack (although the photo shown is the purple english horse backpack and that is not what we bought). I knew what it would look like because we previously bought Wildkin lunchboxes in this same pattern. It's a very girly print, a hot light pink color with horses on it. We just got this backpack so I can't say how it will hold up, but looking at it, the quality seems good and I'm expecting it to be durable and last through the school year and then some. The only thing that might be an issue is the zipper. Those doesn't look that great, but everything else does, so time will tell. The size of this is perfect for my petite kindergartner. This backpack is a tad bigger than a toddler backpack and can accommodate a letter sized file folder and a few small books. Compared to a toddler backpack from Potterybarn it won't hold as much. It doesn't have drink pockets on the side either, but that is okay with me for our use. The manufacturer says this is for 3 to 8 year olds. It's perfect for Kindergarten, but I'm guessing that next year we'll need something a bit bigger so I would say the size good for 3 to 6 year olds. If you have an older child who has text books, etc, this is not the right backpack to buy and you will be disappointed. Wildkin makes a variety of backpacks in this pattern so you need to make sure you are buying the right size. One reviewer said the fabric wasn't that thick. I don't see that. This backpack is lined with black fabric and seems sufficent. My only reason for 4 stars is the price. It should be a $15 dollar backpack based on the size and style it isn't a "bells and whistles" kind of a backpack. It's pretty average. What you are paying for is the cute design. I'd give the design a 5 stars if you have a girl that loves horses like my daughter. This backpack was a birthday gift for our 1st grader. It's simply adorable! I was initially concerned about the seemingly small size, but it actually has more than enough room for her papers, pencils, mittens and folder for school. The only reason at all that this didn't get the 5 star rating is that I still feel that it was a bit much in price for a young childs backpack. But for what we paid, it is a good deal. Well constructed and haven't had any problems with the zippers at all (so far..) I would probably buy another product from this company as has very many cute items!!!Natural Camo Quilted Backpack

I purchased the Tbags Dresser Backseat bag for a 6 day trip to Maggie Valley on my Road King.I was initially disconcerted about the attachment design on the bag. The upper straps are designed with the expectation that your bike has a luggage rack on top of a tour trunk. The straps for the bottom were great and easy to use/understand.
I do not have a tour trunk. I currently have a passenger backrest/luggage rack combo. So I had to improvise.
The bag has a rain cover and it kept my gear dry even though it rained 5 of 6 days.
The bag was easilly big enough for 6 days and the extra pockets allowed me to keep things handy.
Great handle on top for when you dismount the bag.

BBP Hamptons Hybrid Messenger/Backpack Laptop Bag Black Small
So, why not more stars? This bag did not last. After about two years, the zipper on the laptop compartment was beginning to separate from the seams. Shortly after this, the upper stitching on the interior began to separate, and after less than three years the laptop compartment zipper was no longer usable at all. I was surprised at this short lifetime; I used the bag regularly, but was hardly putting it under a lot of stress. The typical day was carrying my laptop and a book from home to the office and back. But even more surprisingly, although I contacted them about these issues twice BBP refused to replace or repair the bag, in spite of their guarantee. Bags may not last forever, but the $50 LL Bean backpack I got in high school has lasted over a decade under much heavier use than BBP's bag. So although its design is very appealing, I would not recommend buying this bag due to the lack of durability and my experience with the company.

I first bought the Large, returned it, then I bought the Medium and returned it, then I bought the small. The others were too big. The small one is the perfect size for me. The difference is the size of the pocket for the laptop, which I must confess, the pocket on the small one is too small for my Dell laptop, so, I put laptop in the inside pocket instead of in the laptop pocket. It works for me :-) I only give it 4 stars because it is a bit sloppy. If you don't clip the closures to the over flap, it makes noises. (clack, clack, clack, etc.) and it's just a bit too floppy, otherwise, it is perfect for me.Read Best Reviews of BBP Hamptons Hybrid Messenger/Backpack Laptop Bag Black Small Here
The fact that this bag works stylishly as both a backpack and messenger bag is one of the many unique features I love about the Hampton Hybrid. It's also extremely comfortable and doesn't put a strain on any concentrated part of my back. The generous lumbar padding feels great on my lower back and you can tell that this bag/design was well thought out and executed. Well constructed, durable and seems like it could take quite a beating. Hope to get years of use out of it. So glad I bought this bag. I have a lot of medical appointments and I was searching for a bag that could carry everything I needed throughout my busy day (laptop, iPad, iPhone, medical supplies and other supplies). I lost a lot of my muscle mass and I have found that this bag is easy on my back and hips. I would highly recommend this bag to anyone that is looking for a durable, convenient and well made bag!!!!
