Eagle Creek Pack-It Specter Cube Set

Eagle Creek Pack-It Specter Cube SetI was very much satisfied with the quality of the product, its lightness and style. The smallest cube is a good size for toiletries or other small items you would like to take with you when you travel (clothesline, manicure set, sewing kit, etc). The medium size cube would be convenient for underwear and socks or stationery (i.e., a notebook, pens ans pencils). The biggest cube can not sonly accomodate clothes when you travel, it can also be used to keep off seasoned clothes compactly in your wardrobe.

Great for those who like to have organized suitcases or who like to keep dirty laundry seperate.

I've used plastic garbage bags in the past for this purpose, but these are more durable and reusable.

Disney Cars 10" Mini Backpack - Cars Drift Crew Red and Blue Backpack

Disney Cars 10' Mini Backpack - Cars Drift Crew Red and Blue BackpackI have a 2 year old and this backpack is perfect for him! It's a great size holds a cuppy, wipes, diapers, little toys, snacks, etc. It's absolutely adorable, seems quite sturdy and is very functional. For little people wanting to learn to be independent, I know my son feels like such a big boy when he carries his own bag! I would highly recommend this item!!!

Scuba Deluxe Mesh Backpack

Scuba Deluxe Mesh BackpackThough I wasn't sure what the brand name of the bag was, this turned out to be: Akona Deluxe Mesh Backpack (AKB234)

This bag is made of very sturdy, high quality material and I'm very happy with it.

There are 2 minor problems.

1) The "water proof pouches" don't have water-proof zippers. If you submerge the bag in the dunk tank (as I did) don't expect the contents of the pouches to remain dry. In fact, the pouches will fill with water completely.

2) The drawcord at the top of the bag had a cheap piece of plastic on the end which broke off on the bag's first use. A stopper knot works just as well. Also, the Drawcord Barrel Lock's spring is not strong enough. when one picks up the bag the barrel lock slides out of place and the bag opens. I'm poking around the net for a replacement barrel locks now.

Leyden and Sons Leather Bag Co. - Original Messenger Bag

Leyden and Sons Leather Bag Co. - Original Messenger BagI usually don't write reviews for my purchases, but I was so pleased with the product and the service that I couldn't NOT write a review.

I bought the Original Messenger Bag (large size) as a gift for my boyfriend, and I must say that I am so happy with the way the gift went over. The only trouble is that I'm not sure how I can top this gift next time!

He certainly likes to dress well, and as a student, the backpack is an essential part of each day's wardrobe. So I wanted to find him something stylish yet functional. However, as a student myself, I wasn't ready to break the bank. Luckily, I found Leyden and Sons.

The Original Messenger Bag was a perfect gift choice. It has space for a laptop, which he brings to every class. It has front pockets for the quick-reach items like keys, sunglasses, and laptop charger. And it can be worn as a backpack, which is not only convenient for bike riding, but is just plain cool. Plus the bag looks great (not just in the online pics, but also in person!).

Lastly, the service I experienced was phenomenal. The bag arrived very quickly, and the packaging was unlike anything I had seen. The "sons" of Leyden and Sons must really take pride in what they do, because it certainly shows in the personal touches that accompany their product (including a hand-written thank-you note!). I actually didn't re-wrap the bag before I gave it to my boyfriend. I gave it to him in the original packaging because I knew he would appreciate it.

I would recommend doing business with Leyden and Sons to anyone looking for a great leather bag. I was amazed at the quality of the bag, especially for the reasonable price. And I know that my boyfriend is quite happy with the bag as well.

When my ancient but beloved canvas briefcase started to break down a few weeks ago I immediately began looking for a replacement. I have always found the idea of a leather bag appealing, but I have seldom seen one that I actually liked. I spent weeks looking at hundreds of briefcases both on-line and in local stores before finding the Leyden & Sons Original Messenger Bag. I liked the styling and the handful of positive customer reviews convinced me to take a chance on it.

I received the bag on the third working day after I ordered it. As several other reviewers have mentioned, the presentation is elegant. Inside the shipping carton the bag is wrapped in burlap, tied in twine, and nestled in straw. As the bag is unwrapped the thoughtful design and superb workmanship are immediately apparent. The leather is remarkably rugged, beautifully dyed, and has an excellent handfeel. The hardware is robust. The cut and sew is first-rate. The bag even smells good. I am certain that this bag will last for the rest of my professional life. I recommend it without reservation.

I've been looking for a well-made, high quality "XL" leather messenger bag for quite some time now. I wanted something big enough to grow with (as I seem to accumulate more stuff that I Must Keep With Me! everyday) yet not a behemoth of a bag which would seem unwieldy. I also didn't want to pay a lot of money for a low quality bag made of thin, shiny leather which feels like it would rip under the weight of all my items--but neither did I want a 15 lb giant of a bag. When I stumbled upon Leyden & Sons I knew I'd hit the jackpot.

The bag arrived in two days, as ordered, and was packaged exceptionally well. The box had a stylized, spray-painted LS on it when it arrived, and the packaging inside spared no attention to detail. The bag was carefully wrapped in burlap and twine, nestled in some sort of straw--this is a very, very cool presentation. This attention to detail on the packaging was echoed in the construction of the bag.

First of all, I got the XL version of the bag because I wanted the extra length in case I ever purchased a larger laptop. It fits all my miscellaneous tech gear (including a Dell 15z in a padded sleeve), a cooling pad, power cords, other USB transfer cords, documents and notebooks, software, a hard drive, and more with ease. The bag itself is made of thick (yet soft) leather and feels very sturdy indeed. It's got a great look to it (very vintage) and I can already see it's going to age well. As you use it, it acquires "scuffs" and marks which really make it look unique--not at all unattractive--in fact, it enhances the "vintage" look. The rivets and stitching on the bag seem both well placed and sturdy. All of the hardware echoes this quality--it's well made and very sturdy while maintaining a great look. The inside is suede lined and has plenty of room. The shoulder strap is awesome!! It has two wide leather pads on it which are great--the wideness makes the strap comfortable and distributes the weight of the bag more evenly rather than leaving a thinner leather strap to dig into your shoulder--very clever.

For quality, I'd give this bag a 5 out of 5--only time will tell how well it wears and survives daily use, but I'd bet it's going to perform fantastically.

For appearance, I'd give this bag a 5 out of 5.

For service, I'd give the company a 5 out of 5--they included a personalized, typed note which had an email address to use in case of issues, and when I emailed them during my ordering experience their reply was prompt, friendly, and helpful.

I'd buy this bag--or another one--from Leyden & Sons in a heartbeat. I'm very impressed with their service and the quality of their goods, and look forward to years with this bag.

I was looking for a 'man bag' for my husband and came across Leyden and Son's Messenger Bag. The bag arrived beautifully presented last week in gorgeous cheesecloth wrapping and exquisite handwritten ink letter. The bag is everything the pictures promised and better.... a gorgeous leather that will gather more and more character the older it gets. My husband uses the bag to cart his laptop, folders and uses the strap to wear it across his body for his daily commute to work. A fantastic bag that comes with a very high recommendation.

It's hard for me to know where to start in writing this review: the bag or the service?

When I began my search for a quality bag, consumer reviews naturally played a significant part in the process. Upon finding Leyden and Sons, the choice of bag became no easier because as others have commented, all of the bags are fantastic. High quality leather, durable fixtures, quality suede lining, etc. The list goes on. Moreover, the packaging of the bag is charming and authentic. After owning the bag for a couple of weeks now, I am confident that it will serve my needs for a long time to come.

But as I mentioned, most of Leyden and Sons bags are equally highly rated, which means that the true functionality of the bag was what I wanted to experience. Unfortunately, the nature of online shopping makes that difficult. Mick, from Leyden and Sons, makes it easy.

I originally purchased the Backwoods Satchel. It was awesome, as indicated by its ratings, but I needed a bag with a little more capacity. After speaking with Mick by email, asking questions about other bags (of which he offered accurate and honest feedback), and spending more time assessing my own needs, I settled on the Original Messenger.

The Original Messenger has the capacity I need for load-heavy days and wears comfortably. The bag itself is heavy, and despite what else I might throw in there, it still wears with ease, and I find I can walk for up to 45 minutes without having to adjust the bag even at its heaviest. I believe this is in large part due to the wide shoulder straps.

The internal divider helps keeps things organized on days when I have fewer things to carry, and the internal pockets easily store my computer mouse, pens, business cards, etc. (I will say that if you're used to and like a bag with internal pockets that are clearly item-specific, i.e., a pocket(s) for a pen(s), a pocket for business cards, a pocket for a cell phone, etc., then this bag's larger pockets designed for more general use will take a little getting used to.) On top of that, the external pockets serve as wonderful and accessible additional storage for larger items, like a water bottle or bike lock (depending on your lock).

Last, I cannot express how pleasurable it was to work with Mick--he absolutely shaped the experience. Orders/returns are processed promptly, and he was quick to respond to questions, honest in his feedback, and willing to help in any way he could to ensure that I ended up with the perfect bag for me.

I highly recommend Leyden and Sons to anyone looking for a bag to last many years. I will suggest the company to my personal network and look forward to purchasing from Leyden and Sons in the future.

BUILT Laptop Backpack Large

Built E-BPL-OLV Laptop Back PackThis is the perfect laptop carrier. Neopreme material offer just the correct amount of stretch to fit laptopmousepad, & notepad in main compartment. The side compartment hold power cord, mouse, and usb HDTV adapter. The pocket in the shoulder strap is perfect for mp3 player and earphones.

Choice of size is important to understand that it's your size in addition to laptop. Whatever shirt size you wear choose same size back pack. My husband, main carrier of unit. is 6' 170#s and the large fits best to give him a little wiggle room for the straps. We also have a medium and although it fits him he prefers the comfort level of the large size.

Well worth ever penny we paid for it. Consider any of this product line for quality products.

The large Built NY backpack fits OK for me, I'm 5' 9-1/2" and weigh about 265 lbs.

The day after I got it, I tried putting my 15" unibody MacBook Pro with Golla sleeve in the main compartment and it was a snug fit. Seeing as this variation of the pack should be able to carry 17" notebooks as well, I reckon that if I put the MacBook Pro in without the Golla sleeve, it would be a nice fit. Thing is, if you want to put anything else in there with the notebook, you might, depending on the object, wind up scratching it or something. If this is not an issue for you, then no worries.

As for the side pocket for accessories, I was expecting like a little pocket that can contain power bricks, power cords, and some knick knacks but was pleasantly surprised upon closer inspection, to find out that the side pocket goes into a separate compartment (in front of the notebook) and is composed of pretty much the entire backpack and part of the lower straps. Nice. But as with the main compartment, if you put them in a water-tight plastic "sleeve" like I do, they will be a tight fit. If you put the items in one at a time without the sleeve and they fit nicely and don't really add much to the bulk of the pack.

The fit of the pack is nice and it hugs my sides and back real well, very streamlined. You can even secure the sternum strap if you aren't using it so it doesn't flap around and get caught on things.

As the title of this review says, it's a nice, minimalist pack and if you just want to lug around your notebook, some accessories and knick knacks, then this is the pack for you.

Love this pack, have purchased two of them, can be a bit on the small side, which in turn forces to be more thoughtful about "what you take with you".

It is just what I expected. If your looking to just carry a laptop and a few small items then this is just the bag. Fits tight against your back. If you wear under a baggy shirt or jacket you can't even tell you have it on. Great if your going through rough parts of the city.

I've only had this backpack for about a month and I've been very gentle with it(as it houses my new macbook). Its tearing at the bottom corners at the seems. I like how the backpack looks, but I'm pretty disappointed in the build. I might be able to fix it, but I'm probably going to end up replacing it soon.

LEGO Ninjago Lightning Classic Backpack (Blue)

LEGO Ninjago Lightning Classic BackpackSpent more than I wanted to this book bag because my son really wanted a Ninjago Backpack...but I don't regret it. It's awesome and well worth the money. It is very well made and will be used again next school year for sure.

My 7 yr old needed something more solid than the back packs I found last yr at our local big retail stores. I have seen it come on and off the bus for 5 months now and not one stitch is popped, and it still wipes clean to look near new. He likes the design, I like the clasps across the chest and how well it's held up. This was a little more than I wanted to pay for a book bag but I have no doubts it's going to last us maybe two years of rough tough boy use.

NCStar Tactical Backpack, Black - Backpacks - Daypacks

NCStar Tactical Backpack, Black - Backpacks - DaypacksWhether you're looking for a medical kit for your soccer team (as I was) or you're needing a backpack for a good long hike, this backpack is great for those and everything in between.

I am content with the backpack I received, but I found some minor things wrong with it. the zippers are large but cheap, I see some zipper problems in the future. Also the padding for the shoulder straps are comparable to that of a child's back pack, very thin and floppy. the buckles are also very cheap, I put the waist strap on and it just popped off. thank god im using this as a diaper bag for my new born, and that I have a tac bag from the service, for all my outdoor hiking and camping needs. cause I don't think this one would hold up.

I'll let you guys know how it holds up.

Sumdex Superlight Compact Backpack - MacBook Pro 13" PC-14.1"

Sumdex SuperLight Compact BackpackThis backpack fits me well as I am not quite 5 ft. tall. It is shore and very lightweight. It is a good choice if you don't have much to haul on a day to day basis. I ride the bus to work and have to walk some so it works great for me. I especially like the easy to adjust straps which make it easy to get on and off. My 13 inch computer fits in it perfectly.

Briggs & Riley Luggage Excursion Convertible Brief

Briggs & Riley Luggage Excursion Convertible Brief, Slate, One SizeI love this bag look good, A great 1 day pack. Brief case or back pack everything you need is here. They forgot to padded the component where the laptop goes. So today i drop my bag put a big dent on my laptop. Briggs and Riley should add some cushion.

I had been looking forever for a bag that would hold my laptop that I liked. I wanted one that could be a backpack, but most bags that I tried were too heavy and/or bulky. This one isn't too heavy or bulky. I have no complaints.

Buy Briggs & Riley Luggage Excursion Convertible Brief Now

I thought this would end my quest for the perfect man purse, but unfortunately, the strap turned out to be a major flaw. Once you've adjusted it to a "normal" length to use as a shoulder bag, there is no clean way to tuck the leftover strap, so it just remains hanging off the side. Aside from the potential to get tangled in the zippers, etc, it's just downright ugly (see pictures).

Had they just done a double looping strap (like on most upscale bags), then there wouldn't be an issue with the leftover strap.

This is going back to the store.

Kata KT PL-PV-410 Pro-V-410 PL Video Backpack - Black

Kata KT PL-PV-410 Pro-V-410 PL Video Backpack - BlackI bought this bag to carry my Canon XF100, along with extra batteries, a widescreen lens, memory cards, my laptop and some external drives, chargers, another couple of smaller cameras, a lavaliere kit, a shotgun mike, a tripod, and a few other tools and accessories I like to carry around with me on a video shoot. I generally shoot by myself, so it's critical that I can carry everything I need with me in a single bag and this does the trick. It's a very sturdy bag, which means I can rely on it to protect my expensive equipment from most contingencies -assuming, that is, that nothing really bad happens like I get hit by a car while I'm wearing it, but in that case my equipment will not be the only thing I'm worried about.

It's very flexible. There's a solid outer casing, with four zippered containers that open both from the inside and the outside, all protecting an inner compartment. There are removable inserts, including another zippered bag that velcroes in along the top, that allow you to create multiple compartments in the large inner compartment, so you can adjust things exactly to your needs. So, for example, you can store a large camcorder like my XF100, along with another smaller camera, like my Canon VIXIA HFS10 or you could store a DSLR and a few extra lenses (it comes with a divider that's perfect for holding a DSLR securely). Up front there's a zipped sleeve that would hold a notebook or a book or even an iPad or Kindle. There's also a heavily padded storage space along the back that fits a 15" laptop, such as my Macbook Pro and its protective sleeve; it has a removable divider in there as well, in case you have a smaller laptop and could use the additional space for something else. Additionally, it comes with a removable pouch for supporting a tripod or monopod that you can also strap along the top with an included strap. There are a several additional hooks where, if you supplied the bungee or the straps, you could secure various other items, such as a shoulder mount or a water bottle, along the outside of the pack.

Everything about this signals attention to detail. The zippers run smooth, the clips are easy to open and close, the various inner linings are easy to remove and adjust and replace there are a number of separate compartments, but each is easily accessible from outside without even opening the bag, and also from inside when the bag is open. Everything can be adjusted for a perfect fit. There are convenient places to attach almost anything you'd need, but they aren't obtrusive. They've achieved a very nice balance here between the simplicity that makes the bag look elegant and makes it easy to use, and the complexity that makes it highly flexible, so that many different users with different needs can adapt it for their specific use.

It's ideal for the traveling photographer or videographer. I took this along with me on a documentary shoot in Canada and it worked just fine as a carry-on and I carried it with me wherever I went, on the subway and buses and out walking on the streets. The shoulder straps are highly adjustable and support the weight quite comfortably, and there are chest and waist straps for additional support. It rained a lot while I was gone, and I was very happy that this also comes with a collapsable rain cover to protect the bag and its contents from showers. It also comes with a canvas mat in case you find yourself in settings where you wouldn't want to lay your bag or its contents directly onto the ground.

The only thing that makes this bag not a one-size-fits-all for everyone kind of item is that it is somewhat bulky as it needs to be to carry the range of different items it's designed to carry. For some uses, though say, when all you need is a camera and a mike it might be more handy to have a simpler bag. In fact, Kata has a perfect companion bag to this one, that's designed just for a medium-sized camera or camcorder like the XF100, and a few smaller accessories. I have the Kata CC-191 as well and it's equally well-designed and rugged, but is lighter and easier to lug around and I bring only that when I only want to carry the XF100 and my mike kit.

About the video: it's just a quick (sped up) look at the bag and all of its compartments, along with a bit of commentary by me. It also shows the rain cover and how that works. The music in the background is from Andrew Bird.

Purchased this for my Panasonic AG-HMC150 camcorder. Gripes: If you look closely at the inside photos and the pictures which show the outside access ports on the sides--you will notice four pouches/pockets (two on each side). I got the impression from looking at these that they were removable/repositionable--they are not. They are sewn in and bulky/inflexible. You can not crush/squeeze them to make more room for your camera or other objects. They flex, but are hard to squeeze/collapse. These four pouches make this case excessively bulky for the HMC150--so I returned it. I found a much nicer more streamline ThinkTank case (StreetWalker Pro). Much more compact/streamlined for the HMC-150. I think if I had tried to walk down an airplane aisle with the Kata I would have gotten wedged between the first two seats. While the StreetWalker Pro is narrower and more "city" friendly--it allows me to slip through narrower/crowded places the Kata would have been a nightmare negotiating. So: Gripe 1: fixed pouches that aren't removable/rearrangeable, Gripe 2: Excessively bulky and inflexible for the HMC150. Overall quality seemed high. But the StreetWalker Pro was cheaper at around $170 and more practical for the HMC-150. Another big Bonus on the StreetWalker Pro: If you don't mind fussing with it a little, and squeezing it down . . . I was able to remove the foam liner from my Pelican 1510 hardcase--which is airline overhead legal and put this backpack into it. So this will be a double bonus on my next airplane trip. I will carry the camera on the plane in the Pelican 1510 hardcase and not have to worry about people bumping the camera in the overhead--even if the camera is 4-5 rows up or back from me, and then once I arrive at my destination, I can use the backpack to carry the camera around. Similar to a cool setup Porta Brace has--but is too big to carry on-board and more expensive :-)

DAKINE Interval Pack

Dakine Interval Pack, FairwayLove, love, love this bag it is sturdy, has many pockets, and seems to have a number of applications (beach or no beach). Given the variety of colors and designs, there's likely to be something for most people in this line perhaps this bag has suffered from poor advertising, but the complete lack of customer reviews (prior to mine) is surprising to me. Very solid material, does not feel cheap whatsoever, has a pocket for your laptop, and quite frankly it's "interesting". There are a lot of ordinary bags out there in terms of appearance. Why not pick something a little outside the lines, and possibly GAIN even more functionality than other bags for a totally reasonable cost ($60) too. You'll easily pay that for a laptop backpack. I am very proud of my choice, of both product and then the specific color/style white argyle. All in all, this bag is tasteful, has broad function, and quite frankly: it's cool.

But not for it's intended purpose, surfing. This is my travel backpack for overnite races ( tri's, running etc ). just the perfect amount of room & compartments. For surfing I use the Dakine Riders large which is perfect...

Stick with Dakine or Ogio, you can't go wrong with either...

thanx

Samsonite Luggage Pro 3 Laptop Backpack

Samsonite Luggage Pro 3 Laptop Backpack, Black/Orange, One SizeThe included laptop bag which fits into the laptop compartment of this bag WILL NOT hold my MacBook Pro 17", which I recently purchased. Nowhere in any of the literature online about this bag does it say that it will hold a 17" laptop, but the dimensions given for the laptop compartment (upon which I based my decision to purchase this bag) are incorrect. My MacBook Pro 17" measures 15.5" by 10.5" overall, so it should have fit comfortably. The attached tag does say that it fits 15.5" laptops, which is correct. Too bad someone doesn't include that information in the description of the product.

The zipper sewn into the laptop bag was sewn on in the reverse direction, so you actually have to remove the bag entirely from the backpack in order to open it up enough at one end to insert/remove the laptop.

The Velcro piece which is supposed to hold closed the rear rolling luggage extension handle pocket was not sewn on properly and came right off when I slipped my hand down into that area to see how wide it was (although that's not a real problem, just a slip-up in quality control).

The compartments are somewhat strangely configured and sized and not having a lighter, contrasting color in the small objects organizer pocket is, in my opinion, not the best choice.

Otherwise, this bag is attractive, light and seems to be very well made and sturdy, although I will not use it but rather send it back immediately.

Love the material, design, and quality. Don't like the fact that the open area from the back, that links it to other wheeled suitcases is too narrow and wouldn't let most handles go through, even those of the Samsonite luggages! The bag is a bit too heavy in general, and the fact that it's big and can carry a lot, makes it feel as if you're carrying the world on your shoulders! And finally, does't have those plastic base stands in the bottom, so it usually falls off when you put it on the floor.

Samsonite used to make a quality product, but if this bag is any indication, those days are long gone. It's asymmetrical: the stitching is so flawed that its misshape can be noted across a room. The hardware is plastic of the weakest kind: even my light-duty use managed to snap one of the strap buckles the first week. Finally, it's poorly designed; why would Samsonite put the zipper on the interior laptop bag facing in a direction that requires you to completely unzip it all around in order to extract the laptop? And the suitcase slot on the back is too thin to allow any handle through. And the pockets lack organization. I could go on, but hopefully you've gotten the picture. Poor on all fronts, this backpack is unquestionably the worst deal in the work backpack market.

Trailmaker Girls 7-16 Rolling Glitter Backpack

Trailmaker Girls 7-16 Rolling Glitter Backpack, Clear, One SizeI am very satisfied with their service. This backpack is not perfect, there is an issue with the wheels being larger than the stand so it does not stand freely and the zipper sticks. It is perfect if you are looking for a back pack that is light weight and can be handle by anyone with a disability. It rolls well and otherwise is very functional. I read the review before I purchased it so I knew what I was getting, it serves my needs at this time.

It was not sturdy and barely stood up on its own; it leaned over. It appeared it could fall over easily if you put anything in it. I sent it back.

ClaireChase Ultimate Man Bag

ClaireChase Ultimate Man BagOnce beyond keys and wallet in my pocket I decided to carry a "bag" not to drop things out of my pocket. Size is comfortable to carry. Leather and construction quality excellent. All pockets zippered. Has handle along with shoulder strap, which I find I am using more than strap. My second Claire Chase product. I like this one better because it is somewhat bigger and can hold more stuff.

I'm a guy. I don't carry a purse! Not until last summer. I learned of the utility of a "man bag" from our tour guide in Croatia a year ago. I carry my cash, cards (in a small separate card holder), iPad mini, sketchbook (5"x7"), audio recorder, external mic, ear buds, sport camera, SD card holder, tape measure, cell phone, business cards, & 3 pens. I bought a caribiner to hang my keys from the metal link for the carry strap and had my shoe repair guy sew a pocker for my small "dumb phone." It's all there. The only thing I carry in my pocket is loose change. It's perfect for me. If I designed it myself, I'd add a segmented credit card pocket and pen loops on the inside.

Very thick, very stiff, and worst of all, poorly made: seams do not match, sewing is sloppy, threads are everywhere that were not cut off, and the inside cell phone pocket is upside down... in fact that whole panel inside was put in upside down which makes one of its nice features totally useless. And this is supposed to be a high quality product! I don't think so. Strap is nice and long and zipper fobs are nice quality with the brand name on them. Obviously I got a defective item though no real fault of the shipper. I have reordered a black one and will update the review when I get that one.

I got the black one and it is a world different. It is nicely made, softer, no threads, all pockets and zippers are correct. So I have upgraded my rating to 4-stars.

Acme Made Slick Case for Kindle 2, Nook and Sony Daily Edition (Gloss White)

Acme Made Slick Case for Kindle 2, Nook and Sony Daily EditionI have the white slick case for my camera, MacBook, & iPad. So when I received the new iPad mini as a gift I was hoping to get a cover to match the set. This does not list the iPad mini as a fit, but It does fit perfectly.

There are not as many choices on the market for the mini and finding a white one is even more rare, so I'm very excited to say that the acme made case will fit as well. This case safely protects my mini, is stylish and wears well with abuse. Very easy to clean. Inside fabric does catch lint more than I'd like, but does easily brush away.

I have been looking for a new case for my key board Kindle, I was disappointed that this case was too big. Unfortunately, I had to return it. The case was shipped on time and I had great customer service.

Osprey Talon 22-Litre Backpack

Osprey Talon 22-Litre BackpackI received this pack as a gift (from my Amazon wishlist). I own the Talon 44 and use it for overnight backpacking trips. I needed a smaller pack for my bike commute and day hikes. Osprey has a long reputation for making quality packs, and their unconditional lifetime warranty can't be beat.

On to the Talon 22: My first impression after opening the pack was that the build quality feels really solid. The material is lightweight, but has a nice amount of stretch which should prevent most snags. The main interior compartment is very roomy, and I like that the hydration pouch is separate. This will help keep stuff inside dry and free from condensation from your bladder. For commuting I am carrying a macbook air, a notebook, a folder, my lunch and sometimes a change of clothes. There is more than enough room for these items, plus a 2 liter bladder.

Pros:

Helmet holder (also works great for a nalgene bottle)

Nice material

High quality stitching

Lots of adjustment

Airscape back allows for great air flow

Top access zipper compartment for small loose items.

Cons:

A bit expensive for a day pack, but the lifetime warranty and quality make up for it

Would like one or two more small zippered pockets

Overall: I would highly recommend this pack for commuting or day hikes. Outstanding quality, comfortable fit (6'1", 210 lb)

By all rights this should be a five star review. This pack is really well-designed and looks beautiful. I just bought it a week ago so it's hard to say how it will wear but as far as I can tell I'm going to be really happy with it.

EXCEPT.... on the second day of use I pulled the Lidlock clip out a bit and the Lidlock cord just straight up fell out. It basically tore off and just pulled all the way out of the side that was attached to the backpack.

This really bummed me out. Not because I actually even needed the Lidlock (I was just looking at it). But if this cord tore out with a quick pull (and not a hard pull), what other aspects of this pack are defective?

I paid a lot of money for this pack with the expectation that it was high quality. Now I'm not so sure.

I know that the best of products will have a defect from time to time and I know I can get this repaired for free. But to have a defect right off the bat was just kind of a bummer.

I hope to have the opportunity to leave a five star review for an Osprey pack some day as, so far, this pack is otherwise really fantastic.

******* UPDATE (12/13/2011) Five months later and the pack has been put to a LOT of use and has been excellent! No other defects, very well-designed. I am changing from three stars to four stars.

Nice backpack overall, with a few awkward design points. It is highly adjustable and comfortable overall. I am 5'8" and the M/L is probably just a touch big; but I also tried on the Small, and it was just way too small. But a t my height, I have to really cinch down a lot of straps, so have straps flapping all over the place. Some of the straps loop about, so they end up becoming an irritation on my arm as I walk and hike. These looped straps need to be tucked somewhere, but they always end up popping back out. I have resorted to using chip clips to keep them down. The second issue is the bottom of the pack and the way it droops down if you put something like a book of Kindle in it. The bottom of the pack is loose fabric, so putting anything somewhat heavy at the bottom means that the bottom of the back then protrudes past the waist belt and ends up running on the small of your back below the pack's waist belt. I remedied this by putting soft stuff on the bottom, and things like a book on top of that. Thirdly, the pack has no rigidity at all, so it kind of bends and bows if you do not pack and cinch it right. This means it can bend away from your mid-back area, or it has also has a tendency for me to lean back and bow/fold in the middle, especially since I cannot put heavier items on the bottom per my previous comment. Fourth, it is very difficult to reach the water bottle pocket. I find that I have to remove the pack every time I want to access my water. Finally, the zippered waist pouches on the belt are located a little too far to the side. If you out a small camera or anything else with bulk in there, the pocket tends to rub up against your arms. Still, the pack is well-designed and streamlined overall. I like the features better than some others I looked at when making my decision on a day pack. It's a good choice overall. Zippers are solid; there is a handy mesh pouch at the top of in the main compartment; the top zippered compartment is spacious; and the pouches on the belt are nice but not placed very well. More challenging to cinch this pack down, but it is adequate. I like the bike helmet clasp; and it will hold your hiking pole. Still recommend despite some of the shortcomings.

I use this for sport climbing to carry my Petzl Elios helmet (using the LidLock), 12-14 quick draws in the top pocket, a 70m 9.4mm rope in the main compartment (with a first aid kit in the Velcro pouch), along with a 3L water reservoir. You can fold back the waist pockets to keep them out of the way and to store a few smaller items such as wallet and cellphone. I hook my shoes and harness along with chalk bag to the top loop. I carry my Kindle with guidebooks in the small pouch on the outside. I don't usually pack much food on my climbing trips, but you could squeeze in a few protein bars or trail mix. It is amazing a pack this small can fit so much. In total, this bag has been able to handle 20-30 lbs of gear comfortably, with a small load it can pack very small. I have an Osprey Atmos 65 for backpacking, and this bag is a perfect compliment to it for single day adventures.

I'm currently using this backpack as a student bike-commuter. I bike about 20 minutes to campus everyday, and I wanted something that wouldn't have my back drenched in sweat when I get to my destination. I really debated hard between this and other backpacks that claim this "back air space" for this purpose. I am very satisfied with this one! In addition, I think the style is great. I've gotten complements as well.

I would say the size is a bit awkward for a student backpack the volume is great, but its volume is vertical not horizontal, but it does fit my macbook laptop plus a couple books. I also use this bag to do my grocery (Trader Joe runs). I can fit a full basket into it (assuming the sizes are not too awkward). BUT even if all my grocery doesn't fit inside the backpack, it has a clip on the top where I clip my plastic bags I've done it more than 8 times and it hasn't failed yet! Thats where I put vegetables or fruit that didnt fit inside the bag. Keep in mind I just bike to and from the grocery store, so I can't really hold on to anything. So this says a lot about the backpack's capability.

I like the straps (waist and chest), but in the beginning it looked like they were a lot of straps. It takes a little bit of ingenuity to wrap them up and make them look tidy, so as not to look like there are 100 straps (so play around with when you first buy it, but some people actually like the "strappy" look). I like the waist pockets too! I put my wallet there, and its really reliable for quick access. I have not used the hydration packet, but maybe when I do more serious hikes.

So so far I've used this for a month now as a student backpack, and I highly recommend it!

One downside: so sure not everything in life is perfect. Its not as waterproof as I thought, but you can buy the watercover, which is separate. But it doesn't rain much in LA, so it hasn't been an issue for me. But when I go for hikes, perhaps it would be smart to get a water cover.

I am very impressed with Osprey!

Samsonite Leverage Laptop Backpack

Samsonite Leverage Laptop BackpackI bought this bag to replace my Targus Groove bookbag, after giving it to my little brother. This bookbag does not have the usual small pockets in front or on the side, but trust there are plenty of interior pockets, compartments, and dividers to suit your business and personal use.

This is a Samaonite bag, which initially tells me it is built for travel. I am a accounting consultant that travels weekly. The material feels durable, especially the leather handle at the top. The dividers may not be considered useful to someone buying this bag for personal use, but the bag is HUGE on the inside so anyone can make it work.

The straps are very strong. I'm 6'5" and the straps don't seem short as noted in reviews of other Samaonite bags.

There is a zipper pocket at the top for mp3, cellphone, or anything moderately sized. I keep my phone and headphones in that pocket to give me quick access when I'm at a cruising altitude.

The laptop compartment comfortably fits my dell 15.6" laptop. I like the bubble shaped cushion in the laptop compartment. There is also a lot of cushion on the part of the bag that rest against your bag.

I highly recommend this bag. If I find and cons I will update this review.

This laptop backpack is perfect for macbook pro 15' and 13'. I find it extremely easy to use in travelling.

A good school bag too. five star.

Aqua-Quest `The Himal' Waterproof Ultra Light Backpack Dry Bag - 20L / 1200 cu. in. Blue & Black Mo

Aqua-Quest `The Himal' Waterproof Ultra Light Backpack Dry Bag - 20L / 1200 cu. in. Blue & Black ModelI ordered this backpack to replace an older, heavy one. It's great!! Light as a feather and the waterproofing keeps out the snow and rain. I like the straps too-very comfortable and the waistband strap is great for carrying heavier loads. It holds a lot of stuff as well, with a handy smaller pouch to keep things you need quick access to. Best of all, it folds up into a very small pouch for storage.

Enjoy backpack. Is very lightweight. Must be careful not to scratch bottom due to construction. Have used for several months now & other than bottom looks brand new

This item packs into itself great feature when storing not in use... lightweight with comfortable straps that tightly secure to your back. The folding portion that seals at the top of the bag seems a little loose to ensure the water tight seam, but I guess Ill find out soon enough.

This is not waterproof. It's very flimsy and an awkward shape. The only way to open it is a Velcro flap at the top.
