VISM by NcStar Tactical Back Pack

VISM by NcStar Tactical Back Pack, GreenI ordered this backpack as it was the cheapest available tactical bag that did not get bad reviews. The pics are not so great on the product page, but here are a few things that you do not see on the product page:

zippered pouch at top of inside

pocket to slip in a camelback reservoir

feels like material is thick canvas-type material

shoulder straps are a tad thinner than I would have expected, but I have not had any issues thus far

this expands to a pretty sizable pack, you could fit enough to survive in here (not counting a tent) for a few days

I seriously doubt this is waterproof or water resistant by any means, but the material seems thick enough that a light rain or splash of water will not harm the items inside

All in all, I would buy this product again. If this does not hold up well, I will update this review.

This is the first bag I have ever purchased for the sole purpose as a bug out/get home bag ever.

The base reason I chose it was price. At $29 if it turned out that this item wouldn't live up to my standards, I could always order a Condor, or 5.11 3 day pack.

Secondly, I chose this bag because I wanted a bag with thick shoulder pads, chest strap, and waist strap that was adjustable. This pack certainly has that. The clasps are the plastic buckle types, but are beefy. The waist strap is 2.5" nylon webbing, while the chest strap is 1.5" nylon webbing.

As a large man (barrel chested 5'10") it some times is difficult to find something that fits my size. This pack, with 25lbs of weight, holds my gear, and even has room for more.

This pack has mole straps, all sorts of outside pockets, and would even allow me to strap on bedrolls, tarps, tents, or whatever I needed too with the side buckle tie downs.

I don't have the experience of time to season this review, but I was honestly surprised more people haven't purchased/reviewed this pack.

If you are budget conscious and looking for a bug out/get home pack, I can't see how you'd go wrong buying this bag. Your mileage may vary of course.

I was looking for a cheap and very sturdy backpack with good features, and I like the "tactical" look that's so in vogue these days.

This pack delivers. It's made of tough synthetic fabric, and it has a hydration pocket/pouch that can easily be used to carry a laptop, plus many other useful pockets.

I was a bit skeptical of this bag at first. But I figured I would take a chance. I was more than happy with my purchase when I received it. Not Fantastic but pretty dang good for 24 Bucks, you can't beat it. Makes a great shooting bag. Gonna order another one.

Thomas the Tank Engine School Backpack - No 1 Thomas Backpack (Medium size)

Thomas the Tank Engine School Backpack - No 1 Thomas BackpackI like the little pockets so that you can separate items as need be. It will work well for little ones at pre-school so that books can be in one section, change of clothes in the next, and even extra soiled or wet items in the next. It just about covers the back of the little one so it is not too big or small

I ordered a Thomas backpack and gave it to my nephew for his birthday. When he opened it we realized that the backpack was printed upside down. I have contacted the seller and they told me to send it back. When I contacted them about shipping, I never heard back from them again. I don't see why I should have to pay for shipping when they sent me a defective item. Don't order from here!

Thomas Train and Freinds Toddler Small Backpack 12 Inches Thomas Face As a Front Pocket

Thomas Train and Freinds Toddler Small Backpack 12 Inches Thomas Face As a Front PocketMy fiancé just started school and I ordered him a backpack. Our toddler saw it and wanted it to be for him so badly! So we decided to find him a backpack he could wear. He is obsessed with "Choo Choo A-Thomas" and squealed with excitement once this arrived! Now we have converted it to his diaper bag and he loves that he gets to wear it everywhere! Yay! Mommy can finally start carrying her own purse again! No more doubling diaper bags as purses! c:

My son loves it so we love it. fits the Thomas lunch boxes but not too big that he can't/doesn't want to carry it.

13 inch Black & White Went Along Abstract Notebook Laptop Sleeve Bag Carrying Case / Briefcase for

13 inch Black & White Went Along Abstract Notebook Laptop Sleeve Bag Carrying Case / Briefcase for Apple Macbook, Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, SonyLove the bag, planned on using it as a thin light briefcase when wasn't carrying laptop. The smell of neoprene is overpowering. Aired it out for a week and the smell was as bad as the day I took it out of the packaging. If strong chemical smells don't bother you, you will love this bag. Not only does it have side zippers to put mouse or charger but also a Velcro opening below the handle to access the pouch that way as well.

Pros:

Attractive design

Amazing price considering the competition and features offered

Sufficiently protective

Fits my MacBook 13" with a hard shell case perfectly

Exactly what I was looking for with top handles, accessory pocket, and still slim and protective.

I have zero complaints about this laptop case.

I wanted something small, with handles and a pocket for my cord. This matches the bill perfectly. It does have a strong neoprene smell but it doesn't bother me and I'm sure with time it will fade. It fits my 13" macbook pro, power cord and digital camera perfectly.

Nice, minimal with handles to carry around MBA anywhere.

If I'm using my backpack, I still put the MBA in it and then in the backpack for extra padding.

Put the MBA hinge end first for best protection.

Dakine 25-Litre Mission Photo Pack

Dakine 25-Litre Mission Photo PackI would order another in a heartbeat. I can fit up to 5 lenses comfortable along with the camera body and accessories. While it does show using the straps on the back to carry a tripod they do not stay secure enough to prevent it from slipping.

I was looking for a bag that would suit all of my photographer/videographer needs. Turns out my favorite backpack brand makes this kind of bag! I did a search on ebay as well to see if they sell similar. They did, but turns out it's more expensive and shipping fair was expensive! I got this bag in a matter of days after having shipped and I am loving it! I no longer use my other camera bags, just this one! and when i need to use a backpack, just remove the camera bag on the inside and use them both at the same time! I highly recommend this bag to anyone who is seeking a sleek awesome camera bag! =)

First of all, the camo look is amazing. The zippers are the most durable I've seen on a bookbag, ever and I love all the features. Taking out the photo compartment to use it as a regular bookbag is just great. There's only one con and that's they took out the water bottle zipper on one of the side pockets. You can always buy a bottle clip, I suppose.

I'd recommend this to anyone searching for new gear!

Siamod Vernazza Collection Pastenello Vertical Wheeled Laptop Case

Siamod 45312 Pastenello Napa Cashmere Leather Vertical Wheeled Detachable Laptop CaseI had a hard time making up my mind between this bag by Siamod (McKlein) and the LaGrange, also by McKlein which is 100.00 less expensive. I actually ordered and received both, the reason I decided to stick with this bag is because the leather is not as stiff as the LA GRANGE Leather Vertical Detachable-Wheeled Ladies' Briefcase. I found that I was able to put my 15 laptop, along with my iPad which has a pretty heavy tri-fold case in the Siamod bag with no problem, when I tried the LaGrange bag, it felt a bit tight with no give. I also like the handles on this bag, they are soft but strong, on the LaGrange bag, the are rounded and stiff, so much so that I felt it would cut my hand. Hope this review helps you make a decision. I would buy this bag 2x, oh wait, I did.

This case is holding up great through months of travel. Fits easily in even the small overhead compartments. Would change the way the handle release works as it is awkward, but other than that it is a great traveling briefcase.

Osprey Talon 22-Litre Backpack

Osprey Talon 22-Litre BackpackI received this pack as a gift (from my Amazon wishlist). I own the Talon 44 and use it for overnight backpacking trips. I needed a smaller pack for my bike commute and day hikes. Osprey has a long reputation for making quality packs, and their unconditional lifetime warranty can't be beat.

On to the Talon 22: My first impression after opening the pack was that the build quality feels really solid. The material is lightweight, but has a nice amount of stretch which should prevent most snags. The main interior compartment is very roomy, and I like that the hydration pouch is separate. This will help keep stuff inside dry and free from condensation from your bladder. For commuting I am carrying a macbook air, a notebook, a folder, my lunch and sometimes a change of clothes. There is more than enough room for these items, plus a 2 liter bladder.

Pros:

Helmet holder (also works great for a nalgene bottle)

Nice material

High quality stitching

Lots of adjustment

Airscape back allows for great air flow

Top access zipper compartment for small loose items.

Cons:

A bit expensive for a day pack, but the lifetime warranty and quality make up for it

Would like one or two more small zippered pockets

Overall: I would highly recommend this pack for commuting or day hikes. Outstanding quality, comfortable fit (6'1", 210 lb)

By all rights this should be a five star review. This pack is really well-designed and looks beautiful. I just bought it a week ago so it's hard to say how it will wear but as far as I can tell I'm going to be really happy with it.

EXCEPT.... on the second day of use I pulled the Lidlock clip out a bit and the Lidlock cord just straight up fell out. It basically tore off and just pulled all the way out of the side that was attached to the backpack.

This really bummed me out. Not because I actually even needed the Lidlock (I was just looking at it). But if this cord tore out with a quick pull (and not a hard pull), what other aspects of this pack are defective?

I paid a lot of money for this pack with the expectation that it was high quality. Now I'm not so sure.

I know that the best of products will have a defect from time to time and I know I can get this repaired for free. But to have a defect right off the bat was just kind of a bummer.

I hope to have the opportunity to leave a five star review for an Osprey pack some day as, so far, this pack is otherwise really fantastic.

******* UPDATE (12/13/2011) Five months later and the pack has been put to a LOT of use and has been excellent! No other defects, very well-designed. I am changing from three stars to four stars.

Buy Osprey Talon 22-Litre Backpack Now

Nice backpack overall, with a few awkward design points. It is highly adjustable and comfortable overall. I am 5'8" and the M/L is probably just a touch big; but I also tried on the Small, and it was just way too small. But a t my height, I have to really cinch down a lot of straps, so have straps flapping all over the place. Some of the straps loop about, so they end up becoming an irritation on my arm as I walk and hike. These looped straps need to be tucked somewhere, but they always end up popping back out. I have resorted to using chip clips to keep them down. The second issue is the bottom of the pack and the way it droops down if you put something like a book of Kindle in it. The bottom of the pack is loose fabric, so putting anything somewhat heavy at the bottom means that the bottom of the back then protrudes past the waist belt and ends up running on the small of your back below the pack's waist belt. I remedied this by putting soft stuff on the bottom, and things like a book on top of that. Thirdly, the pack has no rigidity at all, so it kind of bends and bows if you do not pack and cinch it right. This means it can bend away from your mid-back area, or it has also has a tendency for me to lean back and bow/fold in the middle, especially since I cannot put heavier items on the bottom per my previous comment. Fourth, it is very difficult to reach the water bottle pocket. I find that I have to remove the pack every time I want to access my water. Finally, the zippered waist pouches on the belt are located a little too far to the side. If you out a small camera or anything else with bulk in there, the pocket tends to rub up against your arms. Still, the pack is well-designed and streamlined overall. I like the features better than some others I looked at when making my decision on a day pack. It's a good choice overall. Zippers are solid; there is a handy mesh pouch at the top of in the main compartment; the top zippered compartment is spacious; and the pouches on the belt are nice but not placed very well. More challenging to cinch this pack down, but it is adequate. I like the bike helmet clasp; and it will hold your hiking pole. Still recommend despite some of the shortcomings.

I use this for sport climbing to carry my Petzl Elios helmet (using the LidLock), 12-14 quick draws in the top pocket, a 70m 9.4mm rope in the main compartment (with a first aid kit in the Velcro pouch), along with a 3L water reservoir. You can fold back the waist pockets to keep them out of the way and to store a few smaller items such as wallet and cellphone. I hook my shoes and harness along with chalk bag to the top loop. I carry my Kindle with guidebooks in the small pouch on the outside. I don't usually pack much food on my climbing trips, but you could squeeze in a few protein bars or trail mix. It is amazing a pack this small can fit so much. In total, this bag has been able to handle 20-30 lbs of gear comfortably, with a small load it can pack very small. I have an Osprey Atmos 65 for backpacking, and this bag is a perfect compliment to it for single day adventures.

I'm currently using this backpack as a student bike-commuter. I bike about 20 minutes to campus everyday, and I wanted something that wouldn't have my back drenched in sweat when I get to my destination. I really debated hard between this and other backpacks that claim this "back air space" for this purpose. I am very satisfied with this one! In addition, I think the style is great. I've gotten complements as well.

I would say the size is a bit awkward for a student backpack the volume is great, but its volume is vertical not horizontal, but it does fit my macbook laptop plus a couple books. I also use this bag to do my grocery (Trader Joe runs). I can fit a full basket into it (assuming the sizes are not too awkward). BUT even if all my grocery doesn't fit inside the backpack, it has a clip on the top where I clip my plastic bags I've done it more than 8 times and it hasn't failed yet! Thats where I put vegetables or fruit that didnt fit inside the bag. Keep in mind I just bike to and from the grocery store, so I can't really hold on to anything. So this says a lot about the backpack's capability.

I like the straps (waist and chest), but in the beginning it looked like they were a lot of straps. It takes a little bit of ingenuity to wrap them up and make them look tidy, so as not to look like there are 100 straps (so play around with when you first buy it, but some people actually like the "strappy" look). I like the waist pockets too! I put my wallet there, and its really reliable for quick access. I have not used the hydration packet, but maybe when I do more serious hikes.

So so far I've used this for a month now as a student backpack, and I highly recommend it!

One downside: so sure not everything in life is perfect. Its not as waterproof as I thought, but you can buy the watercover, which is separate. But it doesn't rain much in LA, so it hasn't been an issue for me. But when I go for hikes, perhaps it would be smart to get a water cover.

I am very impressed with Osprey!

Mobile Edge Leather Ladies Briefcase - 14"PC / 15" MacBook Pro

Mobile Edge METBL1 Black Leather Ladies NotebookThis is a very nice well made quality item for the price. Very professional looking as well. However, it is too heavy coupled with the laptop, etc. It is also too large and cumbersome. The interior is nice as well, although a bit of a tight fit for a 15.4" laptop (but it did fit with some effort perhaps with use it will give some & the laptop will fit easier).

I really am pleased with the looks of this bag, but I am afraid the size & weight are too big a drawback. I hate to say it, but once I find another leather laptop bag that is as nice as this one but smaller and easier to manage, I probably won't use this one anymore.

Diaper Dude Little Dude Backpack

Diaper Dude Little Dude Backpack, Camo DragonMy third grader loves this backpack!!! It's perfect for an eight year old. It is a medium size, it's not too big for him. There is plenty of room for his binder, a book, and his lunch box. The mesh on the side is great for keeping the water bottle in it. I gave it 4 stars only because of the size, I thought it looked bigger in the pic. It turned out perfect for us :)

Beyond the beautiful colors of this backpack, it is the right size for any student of any age or academic level.I bought this for my 7 yr. old grandson who is into camo. What the picture doesn't show is that the front of this bag is a giant flap that is weighted & secures quite easily. Once lifted, there are all sorts of pockets (3) & conveniences for a student right on thru jr. h.s. This backpack made such a hit, it had to be taken on vacation BEFORE school started. High quality materials here & more than enough room for any age, school supplies & devices, etc. You won't be disappointed & neither will your student.

Rapiddominance Classic Military Messenger Bags

Rapid Dominance Classic Military Messenger BagI got this with the intent to use it as a combined laptop bag and purse (to avoid carrying two bags everywhere), and so far it has worked pretty well.

-Inside Pockets-

There is one roomy interior compartment that easily fits my 15" laptop and a variety of other items (charging cable, travel mouse, tablet, my checkbook wallet). It probably won't fit a laptop much (if any) larger than that, because the zip closure at the top is just a little smaller than the interior pocket, so you have to angle the laptop just a little to get it in (if you have one of those tiny USB extensions for a travel mouse that are flush to the laptop -the kind that are meant to stay in the USB port at all times -beware that it can hang on the zipper and get yanked out if you aren't careful about sliding your laptop in). I could pack a lot more items into this compartment than I have been, as it is quite decently sized. There is no included liner for a laptop or tablet.

There is also a zippered pocket on the back interior of the bag that is deep enough to hold a small makeup bag with the barest of female essentials (pads and tampons, lipstick, powder, a travel hairbrush), but not much else. I feel like this pocket would be more useful if it was a lot larger. It strikes me as a place you're meant to toss extra keys or change, but there is a lot of wasted interior space (if you're like me, anyway, and don't like everything rattling around loose in your bag).

-Outside Pockets-

There are two very roomy, zippered bubble pockets on the front, that are revealed when the purse flap is pulled up (as if you are accessing the main compartment). These are fantastic and massively proportioned (I typically keep my smartphone, glasses case, a pistol, a full-size multitool, and a variety of other items in the pockets, with room to spare).

On each end is a pocket that is probably meant for a water bottle, but they are built so flush with the bag that, when a laptop is inside the main compartment, it doesn't allow for anything rounded to fit. I feel like this is a poorly designed part of this bag -these pockets really should have bubbled out like the front two, so you could stick a water bottle in it when there is something wide on the inside. As it is, I use one side to store a knife and taser, and the other side to store clipped pens. The pockets are deep, but they are so flat that they are really not good for much else.

Curiously, inside each of these pockets (maybe 1/3 the way down, on the wall connected to the main interior compartment of the bag) is a canvas loop with the male part of a snap button stitched onto the outside of the loop. The female part of the snap is on the opposite wall. They are so far down that I can't imagine they are meant to close these pockets, and I really have no idea what they are useful for. Because the bag lacks any decent place you can clip keys to (if you use a carabiner or eye bolt snap key hook), I just attached a large split ring to one of these loops and am using it for my key snap place instead. Keeps the keys from falling down into the depths of the pocket, but hides them from view.

On the back, accessible when the flap is closed, is a long, flat pocket that runs flush with the length of the back of the purse. Because I carry my laptop in the main interior compartment, this keeps this pocket pretty flat, so it is only useful to me for a legal pad, or as an occasional place to quickly stuff my tablet.

-Construction-

The outside flap is very large, and has velcro hooks on the underside. One large velcro loop pad is on the middle of each exterior bubble pocket, to catch the flap at a variety of bag widths (so if it's very full, you can still close it).

The strap is wide and heavy, sewn to the bag at one end and attached via a brass buckle at the other end. It is a long enough strap that it is adjustable to suit any torso size, to lay along the body at whatever height is preferred (thigh, hip, waist, right up under your arm, whatever).

The outside is heavy olive green cotton canvas, the inside lining is polyester in the same color. Both are very durably made. Heavy stitching, heavy fabric, heavy zippers. I've been tossing this thing around for over a month with nary even the slightest signs of wear. There are a couple places that had flyaway threads, but that's just from not cutting them off closely enough during the sewing process, and a pair of scissors fixed that right up.

-Complaints-

I really wish there was some kind of key ring stitched into the main interior compartment. There is enough room at the top edge for it. Alternately, it could go under the large main flap somewhere, or on one side above the water bottle pockets. I'm considering adding this myself.

The outside side pockets aren't quite wide enough for a 20 oz water bottle to be inserted into if a 15" laptop is on the inside (this, in my opinion, is the only major failure of the bag). The loops and snap buttons inside them are a little odd, but useful if you improvise.

The zippered pocket inside the main interior compartment is too small to be useful to me. It could be improved either by making it larger, or by including two side-by-side interior pockets of the same size, rather than the one in the middle. There is plenty of room for it.

-Overall-

Large, durable bag. It isn't really designed to carry a laptop, but it'll tide me over until I find something that's perfect. For people who don't carry a lot of stuff, or who have a smaller laptop (like a netbook, or combined tablet/keyboard), this is probably as close to the ideal as you can get in this price range.

This is a nice solid bag. Has zippers on all the pockets. Side pouches big enough for my liter water bottle. Seems durable. Like the color. the strap is a little uncomfortable to carry for a while. Wish it was a little bigger.

Three stars. Not bad, just average. Good quality canvas makes the exterior rugged, and even if you manage to get a tear or a good scrape here or there, it only makes it look better.

Center compartment is roomy, holds plenty of stuff (macbook, two notebooks, charger, Xbox controller, headset, and more), two front pockets are pretty roomy as well. Side pockets can hold larger bottles pretty easily, and the loop that the snap is attached to makes opening and closing the compartment, well...a snap.

Not that durable on the inside. The stitching in the interior zippered pocket is giving way after a few weeks, and the stitching on the inside edge of the outer flap wasn't done well. The canvas has begun to separate from the edge. Nothing that can't be fixed, but there's no reason why I should have to fix it so soon.

For the price, it's a good bag. Just not the best.

Want Rapiddominance Classic Military Messenger Bags Discount?

I was looking for a rugged style messenger bag to carry my work things in. It needed to hold a portfolio with a pad of paper in it, a tablet, and somethings a laptop. Well it hold all of that plus chargers for those devices and some small snacks. It is just what I wanted. The canvas feels good and sturdy. No complains.

GIORNO15.4 Laptop Black

GIORNO15.4 Laptop BlackI just picked this up at J&R a couple of days ago and its one of the best bags I've ever picked up. The fit is perfect for the MBP 15.4 (unibody) is perfect and the computer "pocket" is suspended internally. The interior dimensions are perfect for the extra gear I need to carry as well. The finish of the bag is solid. I like the little details, like the way the strap clips on and looks built in, or you can remove it and you would never know it had a strap.

The bag is easy to carry around in the subway, the handle is comfortable with a good amount of weight (MBP, 2 2.5" drives, cables, power, notebook, misc stuff).

Perhaps one of the most amazing things is that the bag is balanced. With the MBP, gear, etc, it stands upright. None of my other soft bags, including Brenthaven, Booq, and others do this. They all tip over. And this bag is only about 3-4 inches thick.
