Eagle Creek Travel Gear Pack-It Folder 18

In researching the pack it folder before I purchased it, I came across many many reviews that claimed this was one of the best packing products there was. Having used this folder as a part of my Eagle Creek pack it set on a week long trip I can vouch for how great it really is. The included folding board makes loading the folder very easy. It is very nice to have your suitcase compartmentalized, especially when you have to get something from the bottom or repack. The folder along with the other pack it items turn the empty hole of a suitcase into a very organized space. Thanks to the folder and pack it system I was able to pack a weeks worth of clothes into a 22" suitcase without coming close to blowing out the zippers. I will never travel again without the pack it folder.

This is my second Eagle Creek folder. I now have the 18 and the 20. The 20 is a touch to big to fit into a 21" carry on, but the 18 is perfect. Fits a weeks worth of business casual clothes and takes up no room. Now I show up with less bulk and less wrinkles.

So having read many great reviews on this item, I decided to purchase it just prior to a two week trip. I have a 22inch roller and my goal was to be able to pack for two weeks and not check a bag. To be realistic, I was able to comfortably fit 4 dress shirts, 2 pairs of pants, and a pair of jeans. I generally like the product and I think it does what it's advertised to do. I do have two caveats that I think anyone should consider before purchasing.

1. One of the major "features' of this product is that your clothes don't get wrinkled. The idea is that the compression of the material and the direction for laying out your clothes allows the material to remain immobile, therefore preventing wrinkles. However, this really assumes that the folder is the last thing you put in your suitcase and thus there is no pressure being exerted. The way I pack, there is so much pressure on the pack-it that all my clothes get the crease lines from the folds. When I fold my shirts normally, I do two folds, half the long way and half the short. This creates two creases max. The pack-its creates 5 creases and as a result it actually makes my clothes more wrinkly sometimes.

2. The second feature is reducing volume. What you may not consider is that the because the pack-it is shorter than a 22inch roller length-wise, you actually created a shorter fold, thus increasing over height of your stack. I did an experiment and because of the rigidity of the pack-it, it actually increased my volume instead of decrease.

So those are my two caveats. Great product, but I'm pretty sure after a little while, I'm just going to go back to folding my shirts and putting them in my case without this.

I have to preface this to say that I love bags and things that are well designed. I originally bought this to keep my suit nicely folded on a trip to a research conference, which it did beautifully. Now I use it on all my trips. It keeps clothes so nicely folded, and it's easier to organize and see what you have packed and sort through it without having to hover over a huge suitcase. I recommend it, especially to keep everything organized for longer trips (it also helps me fit more stuff in my suitcase).

Sherpani Tre Medium Shoulder Bag

LOVE this bag. I can tell a lot of thought went into each feature. It's the perfect size and shape for workit carries all the usual stuff (phone, keys, wallet etc.) and still has room for a hardcover, lunch, or even shoes. The interior drink pouch is genius, and I like the zippered pockets to keep my ipod and work badge secure. The covered-but-accessible pockets are perfect for a phone, so I can grab it quickly without having to dig. Love the magnetic closure so I don;t have to worry about always making sure it is closed. My one very minor gripe is the elastic closure with a hook can't be undone with one handnot very convenient when you need to get out your keys with a drink in one hand. But otherwise, a perfect bag that's a little bigger then a purse, but smaller than a messenger bag.

I bought this bag to use because I no longer need a large diaper bag for my 19 month old. I was looking for a bag that was large enough for diapers, snacks, a sippy cup, some toys and my wallet, etc. I also wanted a bag that was sturdy and easy to clean. This bag is great. I only wish it were a tiny bit bigger. It fits, diapers, a hard plastic wipes container, a small cosmetic case, my wallet, some thin board books, my cell phone and my camera. I love the amount of pockets this bag has to easily organize all of the things I hold. I would definitely buy this bag or another Sherpani bag again!

I discovered new feature after new feature the first three or four times I used this bag, each time to much joy & excitement.

There are a total of four zipper compartments: (1) the main compartment, which is large enough to fit a spiral notebook, (2) a small pocket within the main compartment for a wallet, bag of tissues, or other small items, (3) the pocket you see on the outside of the bag, perfect for holding a cell phone, and (4) a pretty sizable "secondary" pocket that I usually use for a small jar of Vaseline, lip balm, and other small items that would otherwise get lost at the bottom of the bag.

On top of these compartments, there are also 4 "pockets, each of which is large enough to fit my very fat clutch wallet, an oversized pair of sunglasses, or whatever else you might need. I wouldn't recommend overstuffing each and every single pocket, though, as it may be difficult to close the bag afterwards. Two of these pockets are inside the zippered main compartment; two are just outside it for easier access but still protected from pickpockets by the "messenger bag" flap.

There's also a drawstring pocket for a water bottle and a keychain ring on the inside of the main pocket.

I've been using this bag pretty much every day since I got it a few weeks ago, and I love it so much that I had to get a second one for my grandma, who loves her bags with lots of pockets and zippers.

First of all, the bag that I received was not the model that was described. The differences are... the flap closes with a metal buckle like closure, not the hook and loop that is pictured and describes. Also, there are no magnets on the flap as described. I was a little disappointed by this as I liked that feature, but I think the buckle is likely easier to open than the hook and loop would have been. Also, there is no interior water bottle holder as was described. To me this wasn't a deal breaker, because I probably wouldn't have used that feature anyway.

Now to what I like about the bag. First the size is great. I wanted the messenger look but I didn't want it to look like I was carrying a school bag around as a purse. This bag is the perfect size for me. It has that messenger look but is very petite. I love the black because it goes with everything. I usually wear casual clothes but I can still wear this to church without looking odd as I think a regular messenger would look.

I can fit my purse essentials very easily as well as my iPAD with a case on it but it is a bit of a tight fit height wise. But I can get the flap closed. I'm sure that without the case it would fit fine, but there is no pocket for it so I wouldn't recommend that because you are likely to get scratches from the rest of your contents... The zipper portion on the front will not fit my iPHONE 5 with it's case on. I think my iPHONE 4 might have fit, but the 5 is just a bit too long. The pockets just under the flap are perfect for my iPHONE 5 though. There are two and then on the inside there are two more pockets as well as a zippered pocket, the rest of the interior is open. There is also a mesh pocket on the outside side of the bag that would fit a water bottle if you chose to carry one. Finally the bag is very light which was an important factor for me as I have neck problems. All-in-all I think it is a very nice bag, well made and durable. Happy with my purchase.

This bag is very very nice. When the box arrived The bag itself was in a series of 3 boxes and a plastic bag. However, I could still smell the leather before opening the first box. The first thing that struck me about the bag is how nice the leather is. The leather seems thick and rugged but still soft to the touch. The build quality of the bag is also great. The stitching is solid and all the nickel hardware looks like it is build for years of use and abuse. The inside of the bag is lined and soft. It will provide plenty of padding for my Ipad and laptop. I have a 13 in mac book air but the provided literature explains that the bag will fit up to a 15.6 inch laptop. So it was no surprise that my laptop fits even with a cover or sleeve over it. I was surprised to find that my ipad fit in the tablet slot even with a thick protective cover on it. It was a snug fit but I was pleased that I didn't have to search for a new cover for my ipad. With everything in the bag I still have plenty of room for other books and papers. However if you are a student (especially a law student like myself) this bag may not be large enough to carry multiple large heavy books. I plan on using this to carry a laptop and a few items for internships and class days with less reading. On that note the bag looks very professional yet still young and modern. It is perfect for young professional who is not trying to carry a backpack to a professional office or courthouse. At less than $100 it is a steal for a bag of this quality with these accessories. The bag also has a slot zipper pocket on the back for extra storage, as well as a pass through that I believe is meant to allow you to place it over the handle of a roller bag for easy travel. The only cons I can think of are that there is no perfect place to put the chargers for your tablet and laptop. Also the front slot has pen slots that are a little too small for larger pens and hi lighters. I have also found that the latches on the front of the bag although not particularly difficult do not provide quick access to the bags contents. (By the way the latches are not the buckles as shown on the picture, those are fake, the latches are behind the leather straps and are a standard push button latch.) When all is said and done I am extremely happy with the bag and would suggest it to anyone asking.

I feel this is an excellent product, especially the built in alarm, which is very loud and will attract attention if your child is ever in danger. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it's too small. My child is in the 7th grade and is bombarded with books, they all can't fit. I also feel it should have more padding in the straps and back area for comfort and support. I also feel that the bag is too expensive, this is an good investment that all parents should get for their child, because of the many predators lurking around our children, but the price is not affordable for all parents, this should be looked into. Nautica Luggage Charter Classic 3 Piece Set

Everything came as advertised. Great material and more than enough space to accomodate pretty much any journey.Carry on bag is perfect size.

First things first: I'm happy with this set of luggage they look pretty and definitively I recommend it for travelers. They are light weight luggage and very durable. Beyond that they have great space and large pockets, and the colors are very distinguishing.

I ordered this luggage for myself but my son fell in love with them the moment I unpacked them from the box. They are in a beautiful Navy/Red and much better than anything someone can find here in stores – actually there is nothing to compare with in Europe (I live in Belgium). The picture doesn't tell how beautifully they are. All three pieces have side handles and the fabric (100% polyester) appears to be very durable. So far I and my son could not be happier with the appearance and features.

Microsoft Rainier Backpack for 15.4" Laptops

It's design, material (PVC Poly), form and pockets ... THE PERFECT notebook backback! I really looked around and searched for all kind of backpacks and this one took my interest at once. It's really confortable to carry, the notebook is completely protected inside it's material is water-proof and the laptop pocket is specially designed with additional materials to soften eventual hit. You have lots of pockets and even pockets for mp3 player, cds, easy-reach pocket for keys and money... The backpack is superb!

I have to say that the picture does not really do this bag justice. It is much nicer in person. My husband had an Eddie Bauer Laptop backpack for many years but was starting to tear. I looked for a while because I read that some backpacks will not fit a 15.4 like advertised. He has an HP 15.4 and it fits perfectly with a little room left to zip. The orange interior is interesting because you can easily see whats inside. Since most computer accessories are black. Lots of pockets for all your things. We've all gone through the range of backpacks in our lives. In today's age of technology, we require a lot more from our backpacks. And it's still not enough to just have a slot for a laptop. There must be padding around the laptop area and on the bottom. There must be protection from the other objects in your backpack. And there must be structure to the bag itself so that you don't have to worry every time you set the backpack down. The MICROSOFT RAINIER is hands down the best backpack ever made.

I'm a film student and I often have to carry my Macbook Pro 15, an external hard drive, big headphones, a couple textbooks, keys, pens, ipod, BPA free water bottle, and other accessories. The Rainier has enough pockets (and not too many) organized in a way where you instinctually know where to look for whatever you're looking for. This will truly be your best friend at work or school. When I set the Rainier down, it sits upright (just like in the photo) at your side like man's other best friend. All your gear is not sitting on top of each other.

Swissgear, Belkin, Booq, Brenthaven, Ogio make good bags. None of their bags can compete with this one. If I lost my Rainier and Microsoft jacked up the price of this one to $200, I'd still buy it.

And... it's not as geeky in person as it looks in the photo.

Recommendation:

I would not recommend this pack due to the weakness of delicate zippers used to secure essential compartments.

Pros:

The bag is well designed/organized. The overall size permits many different items to be stored securely and conveniently. There is ample padding to protect your fragile devices. Light rain did not penetrate the contents during messy weather.

After less than six months one of the zippers came apart rendering the backpack useless. If you purchased this pack use care in handling/using the zippers as they are delicate and will come apart. If one of the zippers that secure a main compartment fails, the pack will be made useless for its intended purposes. No sternum strap to better secure a load when walking fast or over rough terrain.

Appearance:

My personal preference is to have a backpack that does not suggest to criminals, 'Hey guys look, the laptop is in here, come and get it!' which this pack effectively does with its bright orange zipper pulls that shout out the Microsoft brand name. Instead I would recommend a design that mimics a daypack used for trekking.

Comparison: Microsoft Rainier vs. SwissGear Computer Backpack (Black):

I recently switched to a SWISSGEAR model and have noticed by comparison the materials used are more rugged (heavy-duty). The SwissGear pack, more than adequate for my purposes, can easily accommodate a 15" laptop but overall was less roomy than the Microsoft Rainier. The SwissGear pack is more adjustable with better pulls and side panel cinch straps to secure contents, important if you have to walk a long distance, or have reason to traverse uneven or difficult terrain on foot. SwissGear also includes a sunglasses loop and a small enclosed compartment (big enough to hold a slim-line digital voice recorder or pocket knife) on the shoulder straps. Neither pack had a sternum strap.

I just bought this to replace a notebook back pack I have had for 8 years. I like that tis is a lot lighter and more stylish, but there is a flaw that really annoys me, a lot. I do not pick up the back pack, swing it over the center of my back and then insert both arms into the straps to use to shoulders and my back to carry it. I tend to fling one side of it over one shoulder only and walk from my car to the coffee shop or work, or back to the car. My last back pack had a rubberish underside to the straps, so they sort of gripped my shoulder, keeping it sort of in place. This back pack has a mesh like material that does not grip at all, in fact seems to glide rght off like teflon. So I put it over my shoulder and walk no more than 5 steps and it had slid off my shoulder onto my arm, which is annoying and if carrying coffee, causes it to spill. If only the unit had a non-slip material on the underside of the straps it would be perfect.

Tactical Sling Bag Backpack OD Green Color

This is really a quality Condor bag that is hard to find. Mine is in OD green and I already had one in black. These bags are really well desinged. Room and organizing for everything! I love the backwall of MOLLE and sling bag elemement is the only way to go. No trying to balance it while bending over and easy, easy to put on and secure with the other cross strap-aint going no where. DBM was very quick and responsive and helpful to my issues and customer service came through.

the bag was made of good quality materials. i liked all the compartments and the sling strap... the only problem i had was the stitching at the bottom of the bag was coming undone and left an opening big enough for my finger to fit. they returned the bag with out a problem.

ILBE Assault Pack Generation 2 Marpat Previously Issued

I wanted a bag I could take camping or on a day hike through the woods. I din't want to shell out the big bucks for name-brand backpacks, and I figured if the ILBE was good enough for the USMC to go to war with, it was probably good enough to carry my things into a state park.

The materials are built of rugged stuff. My particular bag has trace signs of wear and tear, but nothing needed sewing/patching or replacement. There are more straps on this thing than you will likely ever need, but if you do, there they are. The buckles are a very tough and thick plastic. Fully loaded and fastened properly, this bag fits well and does not make you feel like you are about to topple over. There is also a pocket and small opening if you should wish to add a hydration pouch to the ensamble.

If you want more room for more than a day trip into the woods, you should probably get this with the ILBE main pack it attaches to it. I went ahead and ordered the main pack a few days after having this, not because this is a poor product, but because it is a good one and I know the whole thing will be marvelous together.

The assault pack + main pack is just as good as any outdoor retailer's backpacking gear that you can pick up for $200-$300, but this is cheaper and literally battle tested.

And for all you survivalists/preppers, the assault pack would make a fantastic BOB.

Apparently basic training isn't what it looks like in the movies. If this pack was used (From Allegheny Surplus) than this guy was the cleanest Marine I've ever seen. Excellent condition, exactly as described, I could literally not live without this pack after using it once. If you are looking for an easily organized, good sized, well partitioned pack for hiking, camping, or overthrowing a government quickly...you would be wrong to buy anything else.

I just recieved my package today and im impressed with my purchase. Everything is as i expected it to be and better. The only sign of wear is the tag is faded inside it. The only partial complain id have with it is the way it was shipped. there is a plastic backplate in the backpack and the backpack was rolled to fit in the box. Its not any permanent damage but was curved for a hour or so after opening. Im ddefinately suggesting this seller and will continue to purchase from this seller.

I was expecting some dirty semi-used pack. If this was used, the Marine washed out of boot camp on day one. This is quite new. No stains, dirt smell...nothing.

The pack is built very well by Propper (see my image).

There is the main compartment. Inside the main, there is a full length "pouch" with an elastic top. There is also a generous outside pocket.

The waist/hip belts conceal nicely (I didn't even see them for a couple days). I'm a big guy, and straps all fit well.

The quality is great. Sure there are a few tufts of thread from manufacturing. The zippers are tight and the buckles strong

I might buy another!

I love this backpack, lots of goodies. Padded shoulder straps adjustable, with chest strap. Waist belt with wide strong belt and heavy plastic buckles very ergonomic too. Mine was used and missing the top grab handle, no problem. There was a hole punched in the back of the pack about two inch tear, easy to iron on a sticky patch. It has that used funk smell, but a bath in the sink and some air outside will fix that. One buckle, a small one on the four side cinch straps was missing but you won't hear me complain. And shipping was cheap, Arkansas from CA six bucks? UPS works cheap. INcluding shipping I paid 23 and change.. Nod to Prime Outdoors, Amazon Vendor. There is no tag or manufacturers name on the backpack. Hey, I noticed that there was a slot for the huge padded belt from the main pack. I'm pretty confident that's why they did that. So you can use your better waist belt, heavily padded, from the main rucksack should you have it.

Deuter KangaKid

I quickly turned into a Deuter fan using their cycling packs, and have since purchased their packs for skiing, general hydration, and, of course, carrying our son (who is just now outgrowing his KangaKid as he approaches 2 years old!). Heck, we liked this pack so much we decided to have another baby! :)

Anyhow, this pack is a diaper bag on steroids. My wife and I will typically pack an outer layer of clothing, a handful of diapers and wipes, a light lunch for us as well as food and milk for the boy, his extra layers of clothes, and then a compact camera and other personal items.

Besides the kid carrying portion, there are separate zippered compartments: a big main compartment, a smaller fanny pack-sized compartment, and an even smaller wallet/key/cell phone sized section. And of course there are the elastic/mesh side pockets for bottles, hats, dirty diapers tucked inside plastic shopping bags.

The kid carrying section is very secure, with a shoulder harness, a lap belt, and cinch straps on the sides to ensure Junior stays pressed tight to my back.

The straps for me are wonderful: a generously padded waist belt to lift the load off my shoulders, tension-adjustable shoulder straps that ensure they don't bite into my shoulders, and an elastic chest strap to keep the shoulder straps from sliding their way off.

Getting a squirmy infant into this contraption is a bit comical, and should be practiced whilst sitting on a cushy bedroom matress. Once the kid is loaded and secured, the pack becomes quite top-heavy while slinging it across my shoulders. This, unfortunately, is the case with the other baby carriers I've used, and is all about technique and supporting the child's weight near the bottom of their torso while performing this maneuver. It's easy to become proficient at, and a second person is nice (though not necessary!). Like I say, practice a few times on the matress while gaining experience and confidence.

I might point out that, unlike other Deuter packs, this one is intended to have a limited life span (max child weight of about 30 pounds, says Deuter). So, unlike a backpack you might use until it dies, many owners only keep these for a couple of years before getting rid of them **Hint, Hint** (sorry, Amazon).

(Update 6/13/11): just wanted to mention that I crammed out 2 year 2 months boy back into this for a 2 mile walk yesterday. I didn't think he was going to fit but his weight is still right at Deuter's 30-pound max; his height is 34 inches. He was a tight fit -I needed to loosen all the seatbelt straps to the max and he was a little hesitant to get in, but after a little complaining and once I had him on my back he was having a good ol' time we probably had our best trip ever.

(Update 9/4/11): Our oldest is now 2 years 5 months, still 30 pounds but now 37 inches, and still fits. We loaded the pack with lunch, diapers, three small blankets, various hats, a full box of wipes and the usual variety of "stuff" and set out on a short hike with no intention of carrying anybody in the pack. But our route took a turn for the adventurous and, well... I'm glad we had it with us. This was unquestionably the fullest load I've carried yet (kid & gear combined).

We purchased this pack for a trip for a trip to Europe and walking my older child to school. My son was two when he started riding in the pack and well over three when I insisted he was too big to ride anymore--he would still be in it today if he could. The child carriage is safe and secure--I've seen a four-month old enjoying hikes and never worried about my son slipping out of the sides or top. The storage offers plenty of room for what you need for a day--diapers, snacks, water--and works as a great pack even without children. My husband and I could easily adjust the pack to fit and could smoothly transition while walking, no extended stops required. This made traveling through airports much easier for me--while I had to take my son out for security checks every time, he'd go right back in and I never had to worry about him wandering in a foreign airport. The pack made him feel much more secure--he could see the action and interact with adults from the safety of our backs. We not only used the pack for trips, it was in daily use walking my daughter to and from school everyday. Like I said, my son would still ride in the pack if he could. I have tried a variety of carriers over the years (Bjorn, hip sling, baby sling, kanga kid, strollers) and when we travel with young children, the sling and kanga kid are must haves.

We were looking for a carrier that would be used in urban situations, so it needed to be durable, slim, and have adequate storage. We found the Kanga Kid to fit these options the best of all the packs we tried (Kelty, Sherpani, and one other brand that was at REI but is no longer carried there).

This pack is NOT designed for a 5 mile day hike. If that is your primary use for a child carrier, you will need a full frame carrier. We have a Deuter Kid Comfort III for real hiking, and our baby has sat and slept in it for 6 hours no problem. But that's a completely different set up than the KangaKid.

The KangaKid is a step up from an Ergo/Beco in that it will carry larger kids (meaning NOT newborns) and has a lot of storage. For urban, short term child carrying with lots of functionality beyond a child carrier, the Kanga Kid is a winner.

We have owned this pack for a year and a half and have found it to be a solid purchase. We use it primarily as a diaper bag when we go to the zoo, street fairs, or the farmer's market because our little guy (now 21 months) doesn't like to sit in his stroller for very long. We also use it to carry him when we're camping and he wants to be carried, but we need our hands free to cook.

This pack has allowed us to basically bring a diaper bag/child carrier all in one, and we find putting are older baby in this carrier and carrying him on our back to be easier than using an Ergo or Beco and back-carrying him. He also sits higher in back in this carrier, so he has a better view than when he's in his Beco carrier.

What I like most about this pack are:

-Carrier portion zips completely shut: All the straps tuck in and it looks like a regular backpack. None of the other carriers look like backpacks they look like child carriers.

-Relatively slim profile: Because the carrier portion can be completely zipped away, this pack is very slim when it is shut. We easily hang it over the handles of our stroller when its not being used as a carrier. It really isn't that much larger than a diaper bag, so it makes it easier to take along to have just in case.

-Large storage capacity: Easily fits just about anything you would put in a diaper bag. It actually has FOUR storage pockets 3 are zippered, and one is an open pouch that is secured with buckles. This makes it great for things you want easy access to w/o dealing w/zippers (i.e. bottles, snacks. It also has two mesh pockets which are great for holding water bottles. The largest section will fit the optional sun canopy/rain shield (highly recommend).

-Lightweight: Most child carriers weigh 5+ lbs. This one only weighs 4lbs 6oz.

There are only two issues we have found with this particular carrier:

-Limited carrying capacity: Since it is only rated for 30lbs, its use as a child carrier has limited life compared to other carriers. However, it is so much more functional than other carriers as a daypack that it outweighs the weight limit as a child carrier. I don't intend to carry my son when he's 45lbs in a child carrier at that age he needs to walk!

-No pockets on the waist belt: This is somewhat of a serious flaw because things you want quick access to (i.e. wallet, keys, cell phone) are hard to reach in the when the pack is on your back, and it is cumbersome to have to take the pack off when your child is in it to answer your phone. I use a small camera case attached to the waist belt strap to remedy this, but the larger Deuter packs so have one waist pocket, and it should have been included in this model also.

We highly recommend the sun shade attachment, which includes the rain shield for maximum versatility as a carrier.

FYI if you plan on buying a used one, make sure it was manufactured AFTER 2007 if you want the sun shade. The earlier models don't fit the sun shade attachment.

As for fit and comfort, I am 5'2" and my husband is 5'10". We both fit this pack very comfortably (and it is difficult for my short torso to find a pack that fits). We don't wear this pack for more than an hour or two at a stretch; I don't believe it is really designed for that. That being said, I recommend you try packs on with your baby in it (or at least 20lbs of weight) if you can before committing to it.

We purchased this pack for our trip to Switzerland with our 8-month old. We loved this pack. The bag itself can hold all the diaper bag essentials and more. When baby isn't riding the harness zips out of sight. The bag is a little short for long torsos which can make the weight distribution a little uncomfortable, but still a good pack. Our baby likes riding up high and has napped in this as well. The pack rides high on your back so it can look a bit odd when there is no child in it since regular backpacks sit much lower.

We purchased this pack for our upcoming trip to Taiwan because of its smaller size compared to full size backpacks and lighter weight. Hopefully, it will be easier to wear for extended periods and easier to stow.

In the meantime, I've been testing it with our 11 month old, 20lb daughter just walking around the block, going shopping, and so on.

THE GOOD:

+ Daughter loves it back there; no problems with being in the backpack for 30-45 minutes at a time (the extent that I've had her in there so far) and even fell asleep in it when we went out shopping

+ The backpack is relatively lightweight compared to the full-sized options

+ Lots of storage and the outermost "pocket" is fully expandable so you can throw something relatively large in there. Keep in mind that because you'll already be carrying around a 15-20lb baby, you probably won't want to have too much stuff thrown into this bag given the weight limit of 30lbs and the general challenges of carrying that much weight on your back in the first place.

+ Pretty solid construction. I have my own anxieties (i.e. tripping over something), but the pack has proven to be solid so far.

+ I guess as comfortable as something like this can get. Bear in mind, you're now walking around with an extra 20lbs strapped to your body so there's going to be some level of discomfort after a while, but it's not bad. The bag does a good job of distributing the weight such that you don't feel it concentrated on your lower back.

+ Lots of adjustments to get it right on your frame.

THE NOT SO GOOD:

While my daughter is fine once she's in the pack, it is a screaming match to get her in there. The main problem is that the one set of clips near the front are completely free-moving on the strap. What this means is that once you get your child in, you have to hunt and dig to find those two clips so you can secure them. This is time consuming and causes the baby a great deal of discomfort. You can somewhat alleviate this by always moving the clips near the top of the straps, but it's hard to keep them there because they are free moving on the straps. Dunno...maybe we'll figure something out with some rubber bands...

While it distributes weight relatively well, I can see it being a challenge for extended periods of time (>60m). I can feel it a bit in my lower back and hips after a long walk, but this is to be expected to some degree given that I'm carrying an extra 20lbs on my back.

The changing pad is pretty minuscule. I would have liked to see something that folded up and could be unfolded to something larger. It's almost pointless to have a changing pad that small.

Nearly impossible to single person mount a child and seems very precarious to single person dismount. I'll be traveling with family so this is not as much an issue, but it should be noted that it is very, very tricky to get a child in here solo because the bag doesn't stand. I recently saw the Kelty TC 3.0 Child Carrier in person and found that this may be one advantage of the Kelty: it does have a small structural frame in the base and a foot anchor to allow you to stand it up and single-parent mount your child into the pack.

Overall, it's a pretty good product. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. However, if you have the opportunity, I would highly recommend trying it in person with your child. I would also recommend considering the Kelty if single-parent mount/dismount is important since it's very tricky to do so with this carrier.

Thule Crossover 19 Liter Sling Pack

Like many people, I am always seeking the perfect bag. Like many others, I realize there is no perfect bag and instead have a collection of bags, from which I choose the one best suited to the immediate purpose. Some bags of mine are narrowly specialized, like the map case I use for my tablet and accessories. That bag is well over a decade old and has been put to a variety of uses.

This Thule bag is more generalized. I can use it for a meeting at the local coffee shop or a cross-country trip.

The bag is medium-sized and does not offer serious competition to a good-sized backpack. It holds my Lenovo X220 with its 12.6" screen and slice battery comfortably, but a 15.6" screen computer will not fit.

At the back of the pack, nestled snug against your back, is a slide in pocket for the computer. It is not well padded, so you want to be somewhat careful about how you handle the pack. There is a single large mesh-fronted and zippered pocket to hold accessories. I would be happier if this pocket were divided into two sections. The way it is, if you load with AC power adapter, mouse and other accessories, they are going to wind up jumbled in a mess. This main compartment is large enough to accommodate a pretty thick stack of papers or a change of clothes.

Continuing to the front is another zippered compartment with five small pockets which can be used for media players, small cameras and the like. There is also a larger mesh-fronted zippered pocket6 for more small items. This compartment is just a bit too small for carrying 8.5 x 11 documents.

At the front, there is a single zippered compartment, only a few inches deep, suitable for a cell phone and other small items. It is not divided into smaller compartments, so the contents may become jumbled.

There is also a large holder on the side for water bottles or whatever else you would like to store in it.

Construction is totally top-notch. The bag fabric is sturdy, the stitching appears sturdy. Zipper pulls are large and the tabs covered with a rubbery substance. The back has two large foam pads to ease the burden on your body. The strap is wider than most, adjustable to fit almost any girth and very nicely padded in the shoulder area.

Overall, this is an extremely comfortable bag, even for people like myself with back and neck problems. The bag is capacious enough for most needs. My only reservation is that I would have preferred more segmentation in some of the compartments. But, if I use mesh bags, I can pretty much overcome that problem.

In my opinion, the Thule Crossover 19 Liter Sling Pack merits serious consideration.

I picked up my sling pack at the post office and immediately put it to use. The (boxed) case for my iPad and two other packages fit in easily. As I ran several errands, I kept adding things to the pack. Everything, including my purse, fit in comfortably.

The designers at Thule have thought about just about everything. There are more than enough compartments for you to organize your cords, accessories, and maybe a book or two. The case is reinforced, so you can lean back with it still over your back and not worry about cracking anything inside.

The strap is wide and well-padded. Very comfortable. In fact, the whole pack is strategically padded for comfort. Not only does it adjust good fit for short people but there's a velcro tab to keep the excess neatly wrapped. An external zippered compartment on the strap, designed for sunglasses, will be perfect for my house keys and MetroCard.

The look is sleek enough to be appropriate for professional events and rugged enough to withstand travel and rain. I'm currently juggling my belongings and a cane, so I really appreciate the easy access and the lightness of the pack, even when fully loaded. I also like the extra handle that allows you to carry it in your hand. The only possible problem with this product is that it does not seem possible to wear it over your right hip. Still, it sits firmly enough on your back that this shouldn't be an issue. It's the most comfortable and functional pack I've ever owned.

The Thule laptop bag is a handsome and very functional carrying case for my 13"

Macbook Pro. The computer slips easily in and out of the padded interior pouch.

There are plenty of interior pockets including two zippered ones to keep cables and

other accessories in good order. In addition to the zippered main pouch, a second

zippered pouch offers further storage options. There's even a small zippered pouch

on the padded shoulder strap.

This bag is very well made with great attention to details. The wide padded shoulder

strap is very comfortable and comes with an attached velcro strip that allows excess

strap to be neatly folded and secured. The back of the pack has two pads to cushion

impact against my side or back. Two small handles are sewn in at convenient points

allowing me to grab the bag easily without having to pull it up with the strap itself.

This is a very nice feature. Zippers are heavy-duty and quite visible. There's an

outside pouch for pens and other small items.

The shape of the bag is more like a small gym bag or backpack than a standard

rectangular computer bag. I like the fact that the Thule bag does not look like a

computer case. When traveling, it might make me less of target for a thief. On the

downside, it is not as effective as the standard rectangular case when it comes to

storing notebooks, file folders, or other paper documents.

This backpack is perfect for a young person with a good back that needs a way to carry their laptop efficiently. The large logo gives it a retro sport look rather than a subtle simple look that I personally prefer, but this can't be beat on simple functionality. Very sturdy construction, and the dividers are well padded, allowing several tech items to be carried together.

So I give this a thumbs up for anyone who has a lot of gadgets, travels, totes to class, etc. You could wear this on your bike or motorcycle if need be. Bottom line is you get what you pay for and $99 for this to protect gadgets you pay hundreds to thousands for is a worthy investment. What are you waiting for? Protect your stuff and your back!

At last I'm going to write review of New Coated Backpack after 4 months use.

The very first impression was "Wow", nice backpack, cool shell and pockets for laptop and tablet.

It has nice, soft breathable back. But I haven't used it during Summer yet.

Later I start to use it and here where problems started for me. I put inside: MacBook Pro 15", charger, iPad, wallet. few pens, pack with insurance and discount cards (4-6) and lunch box. When I was going to pass to underground I opened small compartment to get wallet and couldn't close it with ease like when it's empty. Top shell was bending and sides also.

So on the fly it's really annoying to get something from backpack and then close it while keeping the handle (even without MacBook inside minus 2 kilo). Top of the shell bends, like there is no any plastic details which handle shape of backpack.

I have another backpack and it has really hard plastic that holds its shape.

I was disappointed with this case and I think I wouldn't buy it if I knew such cons.

I watched youtube videos and read other reviews which come later, they all has such feature… Maybe it's okay for other people which just pack it at home and go to work without taking anything out of the bag on the way.

Pluses: waterproof shell, a lot of pockets, good protection from scratching and maybe from drop, nice and easy to carry, easy to clean inside and outside.

So my proposal for Spigen: made a research with shell materials and discover some lightweight and strength plastic for top and sides of backpack.

Digital Treasures Ultrabook PadFolio Case - 13.3

I love this padfolio it's beautiful, sleek, and exactly what I was looking for, but... I'm not sure if I have a different Ultrabook than what was referenced, but contrary to the packaging details, my 13.3 Ultrabook (HP) did not fit. That hurt my soul. Either way, the seller, DataVision, was super cool about it since my laptop didn't fit, they waived the restocking fee and gave me a full refund upon return plus they were always quick and courteous in their responses to my emails. Condor Urban GO BAG

I'm in in the Marine Corps, have had this bag for a little over a month, and it has proven to be well worth the money. I use the bag daily and it comfortably fits all my gear for the day (books/papers, pt gear, lunch, etc). The side zip pouch for your laptop is awesome because it provides a little more structure/rigidity to the bag while you are wearing it. I also took it for a weekend trip and it fit all my clothes, toiletries, and computer. If I had any criticism it would be that I wish the zippers were of a better quality. The zippers are fine, but you can tell that they are not the kind you get on the $200+ Blackhawk and Camelback bags. Having said that, for the money you can't go wrong with this bag.

This bag has durable stitching but some of the padding material that pushes up against your back has a pretty weak weave that just seems to rip very easily. It's nice and soft but don't drag this thing on a trail or prop it up against a tree.

It doesn't have any kind of internal frame, and the shoulder straps mount to the very top of the bag. Higher than the top of the bag, really. This makes the weight sit very low, meaning you have to lean pretty far forward with a heavy load to put your center of gravity over your feet.

The waist belt is pretty nice, the adjustable web belt part is pretty thin, but wide and the combination of the padded waist strap and belt does a pretty good job of comfortably seating the weight on my hips.

The chest strap is very nice also, it rides on a 3 bar slider on 1 inch webbing on the face of the shoulder strap, so it stays where you put it and is beefy enough to help raise the load up slightly higher as well.

Aside from not being able to adjust the ride height, the other change I would make to this bag would be to put more PALS attachments up high on the sides. The side PALS only start about a third of the way down the bag (there are attachment points higher up on the front of the main flap, but if I add another pouch or 2 in that location that puts the load further out from my center of gravity). That being said, I was able to use the top handle on each side (there are 3 handles at the top of the pack) to mount a couple old sustainment pouches.

Day to day this is a nice bag, but not for serious hiking. On a side note, I'm pretty sure "Daryl" uses this bag in "The Walking Dead" and you trivia folks can correct me if I'm wrong.

I purchased this pack based upon what I could find out about it with reviews and other information. It's construction is solid. There's one place where the stitching on the molle loops is coming loose, but I used a lighter to burn off the tags and it seems okay now. I've put about 30 pounds of gear, clothing, shelter and survival stuff and hiked with it for a total of about six miles. It seems to ride pretty well, except for a pinching sensation in my right shoulder which I attribute to the carry handle being attached to the shoulder straps. I have wide shoulders so, it takes some getting used to.

Other than that it will hold a 100 oz. water bladder and has lots of pockets for small stuff. I've attached two canteen pouches to the lower sides and an EMT pouch to the back. There's a pouch for my lensatic compass, one for my ammunition and a pouch for my multitool. Clothing, rations and small stuff go inside.

I purchased this bag for school and work and this is by far my favorite i've used so far. I've purchased other bags like the Maxpedition Falcon-II and Vulture-II, and while the material of the Condor bag is not quite as thick or rugged "feeling", It is still VERY well built. There are a handful of pockets and in all the right places, not too many so that space is being wasted and not enough so that you're just carrying around a sack with crap thrown in it. In the two side pockets I can fit a large coffee mug and still have some space. I know the description says it will only fit up to a 15" laptop in the side pouch specifically for one, but I was able to squeeze my behemoth 15.6" Lenovo W520 workstation and still zip up fairly easy. The molle webbing is pretty consistent which is always nice and the shoulder straps are quite comfy. One interesting thing I don't find anywhere is the extra side handles in addition to the one on the very top. I also find that unlike most bags, this one will actually stand up straight on its own where there is stuff in it.

I would recommend this bag to anyone looking for a bag with alot of space. I prefer this bag over my maxpedition bags I have currently.

I really like this pack! This pack has plenty of storage for me to keep all my gear in it. It is also very comfortable to wear; you do notice the top handle at first, but it does get better. I normally keep 30lbs to 40lbs of gear in it at all times and have not had any problems with it yet. I haven't got caught in the rain yet, so I am not sure how water resistant it is. This was a great buy; I only wish the price was lower for the multicam version of this pack, but the multicam does look really good!

Nuo Slim Laptop Brief 15.6"

Ordered this brief for my wife's new lap top. She didn't want a big bulky case and it had to be red (one of her idiosyncrasies) Case arrived very quickly and is as described. It's molded and basically a hard case. Being molded it does not leave much room for thick accessories (my opinion) but wife loves it, so that is the most important part. Appears to be durable and just what wife wanted at a reasonable price and quick delivery.

I purchased this case for a professional look on a trip that was lightweight. U like that it is lightweight and protected my new laptop well. I also carried some folders. It nice looking and the quality is good. The only problem I had was that it is thin and there was no place to put the laptop charger.

Whatever company amazon used to order the bag through was very nice but they shipped the wrong item, took more than two weeks to get and never shipped the correct item. The bag they shipped was a no bad but it had flowers on it. I ordered black. Point is it seemed like a good bag with room for a 15.6 laptop and a power cord. Seemed like it would provide very good protection.

Romero Britto Butterfly Luggage Tag Travel Bags ID Name Bag Backpack Custom New

Wow! You'll never have difficulty finding your luggage if you have this Romero Britto butterfly attached to it! It's huge! Quality is superior. I have one on my backpack and another on my carry on. Jansport Meter Backpack Black

This is a pretty standard cheapo backpack with the exception that it's huge. This could be a promising bag at twice the price if they'd have simply increased the nylon quality a bit, used better & bigger zippers, and added a sternum strap.

As it stands now it's useful for travel in the 2-3 day range.

I would give 3.5 stars if possible, it's no 4-star item but it's still useful at least.

Justice League Large Rolling Backpack

I purchased this for my son as he was starting kindergarten. Within the first week the mesh drink holder tore. After 2 months the wheel cracked and eventually broke off completely. Also the strap got caught on something and detached from the base of the backpack. Hard to believe we couldn't even make it half way through the school year with a 5 year old and this backpack. Cute design but not durable.

not that big, and doesn't stand well on its own, but a great travel bag for a toddler. Definitely a good buy
