Mammut Trion Guide Backpack

Trion Guide 45 Pack - Men's Nautica/Smoke _45L by MammutI searched high and low for a pack that could haul all my climbing gear to the crag, go on multi-pitch trad, and then go alpine and do some multi-day or week long packpacking. If you'd like to buy one pack and have it meet all those needs, put on a Trion Guide. A similar product is the Deuter Guide 45+, but when I compared them side-by-side, the Mammut won out despite its higher MSRP. This pack is light, while being more than just a sac with shoulder straps: 3.5 lbs base-weight is excellent considering the comfort of the suspension system, the convenience of the side-access zipper, the pockets, and the gear loops you'll want for your alpine equipment. The suspension system is also moderately ventilated on the back (although there are packs that do this better), but most importantly for me, the suspension system provides an EXCELLENT range of motion for the wearer. I needed something with which I could twist, bend forward, bend back, lean, stretch, etc Mammut delivered. I won't go so far as to say you forget you're wearing it, but its real comfortable for an active user. Its water-resistant coating is pretty effective and the bag can survive being scraped against granite during routes.

A couple ways it could be improved:

1) the internal gear loops are too small (but still nice to clip parts of your climbing rack to the INSIDE of your pack for organization)

2) Deueter's pack has 4 plastic D-rings sewn onto the top of the lid for the purpose of affixing compression straps and gear (maybe you're sleeping bag or ground pad). A useful addition without loading on a lot more weight.

3) external daisy chains could use an extra loop above or below their current position

Otium 20228NKA Leisure Canvas Bagpack Backpack, Military Khaki

Otium 20228NKA Leisure Canvas Bagpack Backpack, Military KhakiThis bag is good for what I use it for...which is to carry around a few paperbacks, a folder, a wallet, small personal items, tablet, and sometimes a 14 in laptop. I do get a little concerned when I throw in my laptop because the bag, while sturdy enough, doesn't seem cut out to carry lots of heavy weight. When I want to carry a lot of stuff, like several thick books, laptop, plus other things, I use another bag. But this backpack is definitely nice because I don't particular like zippers and this one has a drawstring closure and magnetic flap which work like a charm. The straps are lightly padded which keep it from hurting my shoulders, and the interior is surprisingly roomy. You could probably fit up to 4 thick textbooks (although you might think twice about actually carrying them in this bag for a long time) and squeeze in other smaller items.

The interior also has two small pockets and pen holders in addition to a divider for a tablet or small laptop.

The material is nice and thick, not flimsy to the touch, just nice canvas material, and the color is more like the 3rd. 4th and 5th pictures shown on the product page (more brown than green or khaki).

I do wish that the pockets on the outside of the bag were a bit larger...it'd be nice to be able to fit a water bottle in there comfortably, but alas, this isn't the case.

One small detail about the drawstring itself...the ends are knotted, but I've found that they come loose so you have to tighten them every so often.

Awesome pack for school, gym, day hiking and whatever else you can use a canvas rucksack for. very nice product for anyone

I know the description says that there is a pocket for an ipad, but I can actually fit my macbook pro in that pocket too. I love the rugged look it has and I hate having to constantly zip and unzip backpacks so this is perfect. It fits binders, textbooks, whatever you need for school. It has a sturdy design, I've been using it for a year in college and it hasn't failed me yet!

15.4 inch Army ACU Digital Camouflage Pattern Laptop Notebook Padded Compartment Shoulder Messenger

15.4 inch Army ACU Digital Camouflage Pattern Laptop Notebook Padded Compartment Shoulder Messenger Bag]Nice sturdy bag. I like the way this bag keeps everything neat and organized. No fumbling around for pens and other gizmos. I like how sturdy this bag is, and that it's waterproof. Great Product!

15.4 inch Army ACU Digital Camouflage Pattern Laptop Notebook Padded Compartment Shoulder Messenger Bag

I found this bag when looking for a new messenger-style laptop bag for my 15.6" Toshiba Satellite laptop. I was hesitant to buy, as I wasn't sure it would fit (but I took a chance, since it was only 0.2" larger than the specs stated will fit). Well, it did and it didn't. The laptop compartment was just barely too tight to fit my laptop, but it fits quite easily in the main compartment, which is nearly as well padded as the laptop compartment. I love the water resistant material and the drawstring that snugs everything up for running through the rain or just for security. My fiancé, after checking the bag out, was hoping I'd give it to him since it didn't fit my computer perfectly. When I rejected his offer to take it off my hands, he ended up buying one for himself. It fits his MacBook Pro just fine, and he uses the bag for his daily commute to work (I only need it for occasional use). It's holding up quite well, and we're both happy with the purchases.

Fits my laptop perfectly and love the ACU pattern. I've had other ACU messenger bags and I didn't like that they didn't hold the form very well or that they had too many pockets *ie, looked way too tactical for my taste). This was perfect.

I bought this for my son, he was determined to have a messenger bag for school this year. He is 8 and it was the perfect size for him. Love the storage pockets and the fact that it is water resistant will really help while waiting at the bus stop! He has 2 uncles in the Army so the camo is just want wanted.

Briggs & Riley Luggage Excursion Field Bag

Briggs & Riley Luggage Excursion Field Bag, Amber, Largefits iPad, accessories, office do-dads and 8.5 by 11 paper pad. Still some room left over. iPad gets carried in a sling system so that it will survive an accidental drop. Everything else is top Briggs Riley quality. Some wish items: 1) the bag bottom could have used a different material with a little more hard foam and rubber bottom. The front flap closure system could have been something other than clips that take two hands to open/close.

Deuter KangaKid

Deuter KangaKid Child CarrierI quickly turned into a Deuter fan using their cycling packs, and have since purchased their packs for skiing, general hydration, and, of course, carrying our son (who is just now outgrowing his KangaKid as he approaches 2 years old!). Heck, we liked this pack so much we decided to have another baby! :)

Anyhow, this pack is a diaper bag on steroids. My wife and I will typically pack an outer layer of clothing, a handful of diapers and wipes, a light lunch for us as well as food and milk for the boy, his extra layers of clothes, and then a compact camera and other personal items.

Besides the kid carrying portion, there are separate zippered compartments: a big main compartment, a smaller fanny pack-sized compartment, and an even smaller wallet/key/cell phone sized section. And of course there are the elastic/mesh side pockets for bottles, hats, dirty diapers tucked inside plastic shopping bags.

The kid carrying section is very secure, with a shoulder harness, a lap belt, and cinch straps on the sides to ensure Junior stays pressed tight to my back.

The straps for me are wonderful: a generously padded waist belt to lift the load off my shoulders, tension-adjustable shoulder straps that ensure they don't bite into my shoulders, and an elastic chest strap to keep the shoulder straps from sliding their way off.

Getting a squirmy infant into this contraption is a bit comical, and should be practiced whilst sitting on a cushy bedroom matress. Once the kid is loaded and secured, the pack becomes quite top-heavy while slinging it across my shoulders. This, unfortunately, is the case with the other baby carriers I've used, and is all about technique and supporting the child's weight near the bottom of their torso while performing this maneuver. It's easy to become proficient at, and a second person is nice (though not necessary!). Like I say, practice a few times on the matress while gaining experience and confidence.

I might point out that, unlike other Deuter packs, this one is intended to have a limited life span (max child weight of about 30 pounds, says Deuter). So, unlike a backpack you might use until it dies, many owners only keep these for a couple of years before getting rid of them **Hint, Hint** (sorry, Amazon).

(Update 6/13/11): just wanted to mention that I crammed out 2 year 2 months boy back into this for a 2 mile walk yesterday. I didn't think he was going to fit but his weight is still right at Deuter's 30-pound max; his height is 34 inches. He was a tight fit -I needed to loosen all the seatbelt straps to the max and he was a little hesitant to get in, but after a little complaining and once I had him on my back he was having a good ol' time we probably had our best trip ever.

(Update 9/4/11): Our oldest is now 2 years 5 months, still 30 pounds but now 37 inches, and still fits. We loaded the pack with lunch, diapers, three small blankets, various hats, a full box of wipes and the usual variety of "stuff" and set out on a short hike with no intention of carrying anybody in the pack. But our route took a turn for the adventurous and, well... I'm glad we had it with us. This was unquestionably the fullest load I've carried yet (kid & gear combined).

We purchased this pack for a trip for a trip to Europe and walking my older child to school. My son was two when he started riding in the pack and well over three when I insisted he was too big to ride anymore--he would still be in it today if he could. The child carriage is safe and secure--I've seen a four-month old enjoying hikes and never worried about my son slipping out of the sides or top. The storage offers plenty of room for what you need for a day--diapers, snacks, water--and works as a great pack even without children. My husband and I could easily adjust the pack to fit and could smoothly transition while walking, no extended stops required. This made traveling through airports much easier for me--while I had to take my son out for security checks every time, he'd go right back in and I never had to worry about him wandering in a foreign airport. The pack made him feel much more secure--he could see the action and interact with adults from the safety of our backs. We not only used the pack for trips, it was in daily use walking my daughter to and from school everyday. Like I said, my son would still ride in the pack if he could. I have tried a variety of carriers over the years (Bjorn, hip sling, baby sling, kanga kid, strollers) and when we travel with young children, the sling and kanga kid are must haves.

Buy Deuter KangaKid Now

We were looking for a carrier that would be used in urban situations, so it needed to be durable, slim, and have adequate storage. We found the Kanga Kid to fit these options the best of all the packs we tried (Kelty, Sherpani, and one other brand that was at REI but is no longer carried there).

This pack is NOT designed for a 5 mile day hike. If that is your primary use for a child carrier, you will need a full frame carrier. We have a Deuter Kid Comfort III for real hiking, and our baby has sat and slept in it for 6 hours no problem. But that's a completely different set up than the KangaKid.

The KangaKid is a step up from an Ergo/Beco in that it will carry larger kids (meaning NOT newborns) and has a lot of storage. For urban, short term child carrying with lots of functionality beyond a child carrier, the Kanga Kid is a winner.

We have owned this pack for a year and a half and have found it to be a solid purchase. We use it primarily as a diaper bag when we go to the zoo, street fairs, or the farmer's market because our little guy (now 21 months) doesn't like to sit in his stroller for very long. We also use it to carry him when we're camping and he wants to be carried, but we need our hands free to cook.

This pack has allowed us to basically bring a diaper bag/child carrier all in one, and we find putting are older baby in this carrier and carrying him on our back to be easier than using an Ergo or Beco and back-carrying him. He also sits higher in back in this carrier, so he has a better view than when he's in his Beco carrier.

What I like most about this pack are:

-Carrier portion zips completely shut: All the straps tuck in and it looks like a regular backpack. None of the other carriers look like backpacks they look like child carriers.

-Relatively slim profile: Because the carrier portion can be completely zipped away, this pack is very slim when it is shut. We easily hang it over the handles of our stroller when its not being used as a carrier. It really isn't that much larger than a diaper bag, so it makes it easier to take along to have just in case.

-Large storage capacity: Easily fits just about anything you would put in a diaper bag. It actually has FOUR storage pockets 3 are zippered, and one is an open pouch that is secured with buckles. This makes it great for things you want easy access to w/o dealing w/zippers (i.e. bottles, snacks. It also has two mesh pockets which are great for holding water bottles. The largest section will fit the optional sun canopy/rain shield (highly recommend).

-Lightweight: Most child carriers weigh 5+ lbs. This one only weighs 4lbs 6oz.

There are only two issues we have found with this particular carrier:

-Limited carrying capacity: Since it is only rated for 30lbs, its use as a child carrier has limited life compared to other carriers. However, it is so much more functional than other carriers as a daypack that it outweighs the weight limit as a child carrier. I don't intend to carry my son when he's 45lbs in a child carrier at that age he needs to walk!

-No pockets on the waist belt: This is somewhat of a serious flaw because things you want quick access to (i.e. wallet, keys, cell phone) are hard to reach in the when the pack is on your back, and it is cumbersome to have to take the pack off when your child is in it to answer your phone. I use a small camera case attached to the waist belt strap to remedy this, but the larger Deuter packs so have one waist pocket, and it should have been included in this model also.

We highly recommend the sun shade attachment, which includes the rain shield for maximum versatility as a carrier.

FYI if you plan on buying a used one, make sure it was manufactured AFTER 2007 if you want the sun shade. The earlier models don't fit the sun shade attachment.

As for fit and comfort, I am 5'2" and my husband is 5'10". We both fit this pack very comfortably (and it is difficult for my short torso to find a pack that fits). We don't wear this pack for more than an hour or two at a stretch; I don't believe it is really designed for that. That being said, I recommend you try packs on with your baby in it (or at least 20lbs of weight) if you can before committing to it.

We purchased this pack for our trip to Switzerland with our 8-month old. We loved this pack. The bag itself can hold all the diaper bag essentials and more. When baby isn't riding the harness zips out of sight. The bag is a little short for long torsos which can make the weight distribution a little uncomfortable, but still a good pack. Our baby likes riding up high and has napped in this as well. The pack rides high on your back so it can look a bit odd when there is no child in it since regular backpacks sit much lower.

We purchased this pack for our upcoming trip to Taiwan because of its smaller size compared to full size backpacks and lighter weight. Hopefully, it will be easier to wear for extended periods and easier to stow.

In the meantime, I've been testing it with our 11 month old, 20lb daughter just walking around the block, going shopping, and so on.

THE GOOD:

+ Daughter loves it back there; no problems with being in the backpack for 30-45 minutes at a time (the extent that I've had her in there so far) and even fell asleep in it when we went out shopping

+ The backpack is relatively lightweight compared to the full-sized options

+ Lots of storage and the outermost "pocket" is fully expandable so you can throw something relatively large in there. Keep in mind that because you'll already be carrying around a 15-20lb baby, you probably won't want to have too much stuff thrown into this bag given the weight limit of 30lbs and the general challenges of carrying that much weight on your back in the first place.

+ Pretty solid construction. I have my own anxieties (i.e. tripping over something), but the pack has proven to be solid so far.

+ I guess as comfortable as something like this can get. Bear in mind, you're now walking around with an extra 20lbs strapped to your body so there's going to be some level of discomfort after a while, but it's not bad. The bag does a good job of distributing the weight such that you don't feel it concentrated on your lower back.

+ Lots of adjustments to get it right on your frame.

THE NOT SO GOOD:

While my daughter is fine once she's in the pack, it is a screaming match to get her in there. The main problem is that the one set of clips near the front are completely free-moving on the strap. What this means is that once you get your child in, you have to hunt and dig to find those two clips so you can secure them. This is time consuming and causes the baby a great deal of discomfort. You can somewhat alleviate this by always moving the clips near the top of the straps, but it's hard to keep them there because they are free moving on the straps. Dunno...maybe we'll figure something out with some rubber bands...

While it distributes weight relatively well, I can see it being a challenge for extended periods of time (>60m). I can feel it a bit in my lower back and hips after a long walk, but this is to be expected to some degree given that I'm carrying an extra 20lbs on my back.

The changing pad is pretty minuscule. I would have liked to see something that folded up and could be unfolded to something larger. It's almost pointless to have a changing pad that small.

Nearly impossible to single person mount a child and seems very precarious to single person dismount. I'll be traveling with family so this is not as much an issue, but it should be noted that it is very, very tricky to get a child in here solo because the bag doesn't stand. I recently saw the Kelty TC 3.0 Child Carrier in person and found that this may be one advantage of the Kelty: it does have a small structural frame in the base and a foot anchor to allow you to stand it up and single-parent mount your child into the pack.

Overall, it's a pretty good product. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. However, if you have the opportunity, I would highly recommend trying it in person with your child. I would also recommend considering the Kelty if single-parent mount/dismount is important since it's very tricky to do so with this carrier.

KF Baby Diaper Bag Insert Organizer - 12 x 6.4 x 8 inch, BlackThis is such a great organizer! It is large enough to fit most hobo and travel bags. I love how you can put it into practically any regular bag and you are a chic Momma! I ordered this because I didn't want to buy the cheesy diaper bag. Now I can stylishly carry all my babies/my needs!

I hate the silly prints on regular diaper bags. If Im the one carrying it, make it look like an adult bag!

Anyway, I got this insert to fit into a nice 'adult' longchamp bag and it is perfect! The pockets are great and it fits perfectly with room on the side for my diaper pad.

Love this insert. I spent a hefty amount on several large handbags before having babies so instead of buying a separate diaper bag I wanted to make use of what I had. This insert fit perfectly and I love the different sized compartments...each serves a purpose. I didn't give 5 stars only because the material wasn't as great (tote bag material) but it gets the job done I suppose.

How did I live without this for so long? I immediately pinged all my mama friends and alerted them that they don't have to be doomed to wearing the same diaper bag every day. This is a brilliant invention. It fits perfectly in my Longchamp with nice pockets for diapers, wipes, toys, extra clothes, and my wallet. I stick a changing pad along the side and can easily slide it in and out. I recommend it for anyone who wants handbag diversity during baby-toting time!

SwissGear Carbon II Black Notebook Backpack-Fits Apple Macbook Pro 15 inch and 17 inch

SwissGear Carbon II Black Notebook Backpack-Fits Apple Macbook Pro 15 inch and 17 inchI am a road warrior in the IT space. This is, by far, the best backpack I've ever owned. I've had other Wengers, Port and Kensington backpacks.

The shoulder and back padding is excellent. The riveted cable handle is very sturdy. This backpack has travelled on planes with me for about 2 years and it is still in excellent condition. Very well made with interior pockets mounted high in the bag to increase usable space. Of course, it also stands up on its own.

It's hard finding a decent bag that will fit the macbook pro 17 that doesn't look stupid. This is stylish as well as functional. I must admit, it is a little heavy, but this isn't the bags fault as the power supply and laptop contribute to much of the weight. I love the reinforced handle at the top for grab and go, in addition to the comfortable shoulder straps. All in all, it's a great buy for the money.

Buy SwissGear Carbon II Black Notebook Backpack-Fits Apple Macbook Pro 15 inch and 17 inch Now

First off why I was a party pooper taking one star off: zipper handles could use some rubberization so that they do not produce any clickety clicks when meeting each other.

But, then, it's hard to find luggage with the rubberized zipper handles, I haven't seen any lately

save for the cheap looking bags with plastic zipper handles, so I probably would not give 5 stars to any backpack/notebook case.

Other than that the construction and materials are superb. Zippers open and close with ease I never found even with the top of the line YKK.

There are no storm flaps over zippers but the notebook compartment is mostly protected by an internal flap, so chances are that the contents

won't get wet before you would. Anyhow, in umbrella vs. hood argument umbrella wins if peace of mind is on the menu or you are

just a worry wart in general. A slightly wider internal flap would've gone a long way towards putting user at ease.

But I'm nit picking here. At $75 this is an excellent value, it probably is a decent value at $99 also.

The air channels on the back seem deep enough to work if you are unfortunate enough to walk in california august heat.

15" Mac book pro fits fine: 17" would probably fit also as evidenced by the absence of negative reviews. Two 15" laptops would likely fit also.

As would a 17" and 15" if you are getting a workout in such a twisted and an unusual way.

This backpack is even better than the Targus I took 3 years of intensive use to destroy (zippers) and, quite possibly, the best backpack overall of the

all backpacks that I ever owned.

UPD31032011: do not severely overload. After cramming a ton of stuff into the backpack (13" and 15" macbooks, etc) for an intercontinental flight

the backpack has some new creases. Targus did not have this problem with post overload fatigue.

Still, solid 4 stars for the overall feel.

This backpack is slightly taller than others to accommodate a 17" laptop, particularly 17" MacBook Pro. This is a fantastic backpack especially considering that it costs so little in comparison to other similar backpacks. I love the little pocket on the top for a badge, headphones, car keys, wallet, etc. It is very comfortable to wear, and it is very slim in profile, so that when you wear it, you do not look like you are geared to cross the Alps. It keeps your expensive computer safe and sound and has a lot of space for all kinds of gear. One thing I wish it had is more padding under the computer on the bottom of the backpack so that when you put the pack on a hard surface, the side of the laptop facing the ground would have been more padded and protected.

First off the bag is a well made item. Feels sturdy, looks great. Stitching is immaculate. I'm looking forward to taking this on numerous trips I have to make over the summer. I'll post updates as the bag gains some mileage.

Secondly, the seller is great. Expected due date was a week from now, and I get it the day after ordering. The item was well packed with no fear of damage even if the package was mishandled a long the way. Will do business again in the future.

Miche Bag Prima Big Bag Shell - Chelsey Urban Bag

Miche Bag Prima Big Bag Shell - Chelsey Urban BagI own the Chelsey Prima Miche Shell shown here. I bought it soon after purchasing my Prima base bag (here's one here: Miche Prima Base, and it's still one of my favorites. As it's white I consider it more of a summer bag, but I used it quite frequently then and I'm sure I will again next summer. The shell is durable, and although it's white, it never picked up a speck of dirt. Its embossed with an all-over criss-cross pattern and rivet detailing. The flap top has a zip pocket and really gives this bag a different look than many other Miche bags. Both of the front lower pockets have additional room for a phone or other compact items. The super neat thing about this bag is its one of two Miche Prima bags that can double as a backpack due to discreet loops on the back of the shell. (The other is Laurie, which is identical except it's a steely grey color). To use it as a backpack you need to purchase TWO Miche Adjustable Long Straps in either black or brown. Even without the straps, the bag is still super cute as a regular purse. And actually, as a backpack it's a little floppy and the top doesn't always stay down right, so I use it more as a purse/messenger bag anyway.

For those that aren't familiar with Miche, the purses have three parts -the base bag, the handles (plus carabiners that hook the handles to the purse), and then the shells. There are four sizes of base bags & shells. Smallest to largest they are: Petite, Classic, Demi, and Prima (also called the "Big Bag").

The draw to these bags is that you don't have to switch out all the contents of your purse every time you want to change your purse's look -the shells easily slide over the base bag, and the base + shell securely attach at the top with strong, credit card safe magnets. (Some of the smaller base bag sizes have shells that just attach to the outside of the base, but the Demi and Prima base bags are entirely enclosed in each shell you buy.) The Prima base bag is the largest of the bases -it's for the girl that takes "everything but the kitchen sink" everywhere she goes, but still wants to look great doing it. As a 6-foot tall woman, the bag looks perfectly normal-sized on me, but I've seen photos of really skinny, tiny model-y like women with the Prima bags, and the extra large bag size looks great on them, too.

The Prima Base bag comes with the standard black handles and carabiners. The Prima shells, like Chelsey shown here, come with nothing extra -just the shell shown in the photo.

Once you have the Prima base bag (and handles), you can purchase Prima shells, like this one, that come in many textures and colors, each of which instantly changes the look of your purse. There are different types of handles you can purchase separately, too, which can change your bag's look even more. However, the basic black handles do look fine with most of the shell styles. Just make sure when you buy shells that you're buying ones that match the base size you own -if you own a Classic base buy Classic shells, a Prima base buy Prima shells, etc.

I don't sell Miche -I've never even been to a Miche party. I heard about these bags this summer, and bought some online because the idea really made sense to me. This interchangeable shell system has solved my lifelong purse organization dilemma. Before getting this bag (and some shells) I typically used the same 2-3 bland purses for many years in a row, never caring how they looked in general, and especially not caring if they looked good with what I was wearing. Often, when I would switch between my sad few purses, I'd invariably leave something important in my previous purse. Now, I look forward to which "look" I'm going to have each day and know everything I put in my purse yesterday WILL be in it today, regardless of which shell I choose.

The large flap over the closure makes it unhandy to get to the inside. The outside pocket is too large and unsightly. I have other Miche shells that I like better.

This is a BEAUTIFUL case for my 17.3 laptop. I am actually glad that it was a little bigger so that all of my stuff could fit inside. The scenery is really kewl; I was looking for something without the typical loud colors, something more subdued...this was my answer! For the smell that folks commented on, I just placed a laundry sheet inside for a day or two. Amazon once again has come thru!

I was looking for a simple case that coule carry my 17" laptop, a mouse and the power cord. Most cases have far too many compartments and are too bulky. This one SEEMED to be the answer. But not quite. It has no handle and no specific place for the power cord or mouse. It does protest the laptop, but I am still looking for one similar but with handles that si the correct size for a 17" computer. It seems as though there are many for 10", 15" and 19" but very few for 17" machines.

Athalon Computer Backpack

Athalon Luggage Computer Backpack, Graffiti, One SizeThis is a large good quality backpack. I am going to be using mine for weekend trips with a DLSR and a laptop. It has many sections that will make organization easy. The material is sturdy and the build looks top notch. I expect to get many years of use out of this backpack. I ordered one in Batik for myself and one in plaid for my daughter. The reason I took away one star is because the color in the pictures is very inaccurate. I checked on 3 different monitors after I received them and the pictures are very misleading. The Batik is not the almost jewel toned blue, but in fact a dull navy with a somewhat faded looking white pattern. I needed that one right away and it is ok although a disappointment. The plaid is black and charcoal with a dull orange stripe. That one was for my daughter and is on it's way back. So this luggage line (I ordered other pieces as well) is well made and well thought out, but the colors are not so pretty and not well represented in pictures.

Update

I used this backpack this past weekend and it was super. It fit my computer, DLSR and the related accessories as well as two sets of clothes, PJ's, and the usual toiletries/personal items. All with room to spare. It was comfortable thrown over one shoulder, stayed in place, and was even better over both shoulders with the chest strap buckled. Normally I would like a a waist strap for a heavy pack, but for the time I carried this it was comfortable without one. I can certainly recommend this for functionality. Today I also received the green one for my daughter and It is a really nice green. Not quite as "glowy" as the picture, but very attractive. You will not go wrong with this line of bags/luggage.

Got this as a gift for my brother in law as a Father's Day Present, he loves it even turned it into his official golf bag. The bag itself is very handy has a load full of pockets to keep things organized

Dakine Girls Over/Under Travel Bag

Dakine Girls Over/Under Travel BagI didn't buy this bag through Amazon, but I have to write a testimonial anyhow. It, without a doubt, is the best bag I've ever owned. I purchased it on a super big clearance in a ski shop, for so little that I had to get it just to try it out. I thought, if it doesn't work, it doesn't matter. No money really lost.

That was five years ago. I fly about once a month, and that bag has been on every single flight. I can't believe how much it holds! It even expands to hold more! A lot more!!!

It's a clamshell, which is also nice. I can pack both sides independently. They have a zippered cover, then you close the clam shell. I've even crammed more stuff between the zippered closures. On occasion, this bag has held more than 70lbs of weight (yes, I paid a fortune in overweight luggage fees), but nothing has ever happened to it. The wheels are still perfect. The handle is still perfect. There isn't a rip in it, even though it's absolutely filthy at this point.

One day, I'll buy a new one. I keep saying I'll do so when this one finally breaks. That may take forever!

Love the organization inside. I'm a heavy packer, so I need a sturdy zippers. Love that it's water resistant and wipes clean.

I bought this in Flourish because it looks professional enough for business trips, yet still stands out a bit on the baggage carousel. The bag is amazing! All of my clothes, shoes, and toiletries fit perfectly for a 5-day trip with room to spare. I didn't have any issues with a plastic smell as others have commented on. I also bought the matching satchel bag, which slides easily over the handle on this suitcase and makes hauling my luggage through the airport a breeze. Do not hesitate to buy this! It has more room inside than any other carryon I've owned!

Edit: Aug 2012. In July, I took this bag back east for a 10-day trip that included a wedding and a stay at the beach, so I was bringing a variety of different shoes and clothes. I was able to expand this bag and fit everything I needed in it! I am not known for being a light packer, so my family was quite surprised when I showed up with just one bag. Buy this! You won't regret it!

This is another excellent Dakine bag. Very sturdy, good quality I've owned many Dakine packs, and they have all held up amazingly well over many years. We have taken at least ten trips of various lengths with this and it's holding up great. My husband and I are able to share it on shorter trips because of the dual-zone zipper compartments. Fits in the overhead (when not expanded). Outside zipper compartments are very convenient and hold a lot. It rolls well, but it does wobble going down curbs sometimes, particularly when the bag is expanded but, honestly, it's fine even rushing through cities. It stays upright on its own, which is very important because it's terrible to have your bag falling over in the airport lines. It also matches my awesome Dakine backpack:) I LOVE DAKINE BAGS!!!

Built NY Black Laptop Sleeve

Built NY 17' Laptop Sleeve - BlackThe laptop sleeve is great quality; the problem is the sizing is way off. I had read other review of this product which said that the laptop sleeve ran small and suggested that you buy a size bigger than your computer, and I did. I bought a 17" laptop sleeve for a 15.4" widescreen laptop and the Built NY 17" laptop sleeve was still too small for my computer or to be specific it was still too narrow for my computer. Amazon lists the external dimensions as 16.9 in L x 11.8 in W x .5 in D. The 11.8 in W measurement that is listed is from the ends. The hour glass part in the middle is around 10.4 inches wide, so if your computer is wider than about 9.5 inches don't buy this laptop sleeve.

Fits my new 15.4" MacBook Pro. At first I wasn't sure about the hourglass shape but once it's on the laptop the shape modifies. Doesn't look as,'hourglassly'. I really like the funky designs but wish they had more patterns to choose from. I bought the LARGE multi Poka dot pattern with the off white background .. which I LOVE..and the brown multi-dot one. It gives a very snug fit and fits into my backpack nicely.

Even though it says 15" it fits my 15.4" UNI-BODY MacBook Pro PERFECTLY.. I Highly recommend!!

i purchased a macbook and wanted to get a semi-protective sleeve for it. the product itself is well-made. however, it does not fit the 13" macbook very well which causes the laptop to shift around inside the case.

with that said, i would not recommend this product for the 13" macbook as it is a better fit for owners of 14" and 15" laptops.

This is an extremely well made sleeve for a laptop. I have a Toshiba 17" laptop and I bought this sleeve because of the outstanding workmanship. It fits my laptop like a glove. It is made of wet suit material which offers more cushion than another sleeve I used on my 15" laptop. It zips on the side instead of the front so it offers more protection for the computer. I highly recommend this product.

I own a 14 inch HP Pavilion Laptop and I think this product was especially made for it. It's an EXACT fit and I love it. I'm not sure how it would fit with a 15 inch computer as it seems there wouldn't be room for another inch but if you have a 14 inch computer this is perfect. With that said, the material does stretch a bit so maybe it could.

beatrix Big Kid Pack Alexander Robot Backpack

Beatrix New York Big Kid Alexander the Robot BackpackThis backpack is exactly what I was looking for for my Kindergartener! I let him choose the design for the various Beatrix packpacks the robot is very cute & he loves it. The backpack is durable and very well made it has stood up to the test of time. After being used for a year, it still looks like new. I wash it in the washing machine and any stains come right off. It has not frayed, torn, or split like other backpacks we've had. It is going to last at least another school year. It is a great size too it fits the 3 ring binder my son carries to school as well as his lunch box and the straps are wide and comfortable on his shoulders.

Dakine Covert Pack

Dakine Covert Pack Skate Backpack, BlocksThis is probably the best backpack I have ever purchased (and I have a bag fixation for some reason). The build quality is great. The skateboard trucks compartment is the best idea I've seen for a skateboard backpack, now I don't have to worry about grip tape ripping the bag up over time. Many compartments and overall a well thought out bag.

This thing has room for days! The color isn't the vibrant red pictured, though...more of a darker blood red. It doesn't any one large inside pocket, either.

If you don't pack a laptop around, though and are looking for an actual backpack, this thing will probably frustrate you. The laptop pocket takes up most of the main compartment.

It seems very sturdy and well-built. The straps are comfortable.

DURAGADGET Black Ultra protection Water resistant laptop / notebook / netbook / UMPC carry case / b

DURAGADGET Black Ultra protection Water resistant laptop / notebook / netbook / UMPC carry case / bag / sleeve for Lenovo ThinkPad X100e 11.6' and HP Pavilion dm1-1020sa 11.6'I was hoping for more of a snug fit for my HP Pavilion dm1. Turns out there is about an inch+ room allowing the laptop to shuffle within the case when zippered. The thickness of the case made me question its durability. The full zipper is nice-however, without a snug fit there will never be a use case where I operate the laptop within the case itself

Pros:

-Does seem to be resistant to water.

Cons:

-To large for HP Pavilion dm1 11.6 laptops

-Very flimsy, questionable thickness

This case is the perfect size for my travel laptop. It is large enough to fit the power brick, yet slender enough to slip into my backpack without added bulkiness! The added protection of water-resistance only offers me more benefits for camping and traveling adventures! Very affordable---my only concern was the length of delivery time--it was shipped from England??! Enjoy.

It is decent quality material. But the case is way too big for the computer advertised, and certainly for any thinner laptop of this screen size the case is not protective whatsoever. I would not recommend purchasing unless you have a super bulky laptop pushing 13 inches.
