LOVE this bag. I can tell a lot of thought went into each feature. It's the perfect size and shape for workit carries all the usual stuff (phone, keys, wallet etc.) and still has room for a hardcover, lunch, or even shoes. The interior drink pouch is genius, and I like the zippered pockets to keep my ipod and work badge secure. The covered-but-accessible pockets are perfect for a phone, so I can grab it quickly without having to dig. Love the magnetic closure so I don;t have to worry about always making sure it is closed. My one very minor gripe is the elastic closure with a hook can't be undone with one handnot very convenient when you need to get out your keys with a drink in one hand. But otherwise, a perfect bag that's a little bigger then a purse, but smaller than a messenger bag.

I discovered new feature after new feature the first three or four times I used this bag, each time to much joy & excitement.There are a total of four zipper compartments: (1) the main compartment, which is large enough to fit a spiral notebook, (2) a small pocket within the main compartment for a wallet, bag of tissues, or other small items, (3) the pocket you see on the outside of the bag, perfect for holding a cell phone, and (4) a pretty sizable "secondary" pocket that I usually use for a small jar of Vaseline, lip balm, and other small items that would otherwise get lost at the bottom of the bag.
On top of these compartments, there are also 4 "pockets, each of which is large enough to fit my very fat clutch wallet, an oversized pair of sunglasses, or whatever else you might need. I wouldn't recommend overstuffing each and every single pocket, though, as it may be difficult to close the bag afterwards. Two of these pockets are inside the zippered main compartment; two are just outside it for easier access but still protected from pickpockets by the "messenger bag" flap.
There's also a drawstring pocket for a water bottle and a keychain ring on the inside of the main pocket.
I've been using this bag pretty much every day since I got it a few weeks ago, and I love it so much that I had to get a second one for my grandma, who loves her bags with lots of pockets and zippers.

First of all, the bag that I received was not the model that was described. The differences are... the flap closes with a metal buckle like closure, not the hook and loop that is pictured and describes. Also, there are no magnets on the flap as described. I was a little disappointed by this as I liked that feature, but I think the buckle is likely easier to open than the hook and loop would have been. Also, there is no interior water bottle holder as was described. To me this wasn't a deal breaker, because I probably wouldn't have used that feature anyway.Now to what I like about the bag. First the size is great. I wanted the messenger look but I didn't want it to look like I was carrying a school bag around as a purse. This bag is the perfect size for me. It has that messenger look but is very petite. I love the black because it goes with everything. I usually wear casual clothes but I can still wear this to church without looking odd as I think a regular messenger would look.
I can fit my purse essentials very easily as well as my iPAD with a case on it but it is a bit of a tight fit height wise. But I can get the flap closed. I'm sure that without the case it would fit fine, but there is no pocket for it so I wouldn't recommend that because you are likely to get scratches from the rest of your contents... The zipper portion on the front will not fit my iPHONE 5 with it's case on. I think my iPHONE 4 might have fit, but the 5 is just a bit too long. The pockets just under the flap are perfect for my iPHONE 5 though. There are two and then on the inside there are two more pockets as well as a zippered pocket, the rest of the interior is open. There is also a mesh pocket on the outside side of the bag that would fit a water bottle if you chose to carry one. Finally the bag is very light which was an important factor for me as I have neck problems. All-in-all I think it is a very nice bag, well made and durable. Happy with my purchase.

I had seen this bag in a retail store and was excited to find it on Amazon for a lower price. Unfortunately the bag that I received did not have the interior water bottle holder as I had seen in the store, even though the description on Amazon stated that it had this feature.So disappointed that I will have to return it.

This backpack is good but feels as though it was built with a compromise in mind between different demographics and how it would be used. I should tell you I am pretty hard on backpacks as I am a full-time student and commute via bike and train nearly everyday. I am fairly active outdoors but this isn't my first choice when planning a trip, so keep that in mind. I will try to keep this brief and only stick to the points not covered in the product information from Amazon, which is really the only reason I am reviewing this as I depend on reviews to make purchases here all the time so I figured I would give everybody a heads up.As I said before I don't think this is a backpack for anybody that plans on using it for day trips or light hiking because of the absence of a sleeve for a water pack, in addition to the total lack of being able to strap or tie any extra layers of clothes to the back. The included rain slicker works as you would hope but the strap keeping it attached to the backpack is sewn so you can't remove it for separate cleaning or adjust it for a better fit when the backpack is bulging.
When using it for everyday use I appreciate the laptop sleeve that snugly fits my 15.6" Vaio in the main compartment along with all the chargers and accessories I can't seem to leave home without. Pay close attention to the physical dimensions if you need a lot of room as this isn't exactly spacious. I have enough room for a three ring binder, two books, my electronics, and some snacks... thats it. It should also be noted that whoever designed the headphones-port/iPOD holder obviously never used it so that feature is pretty much useless.
The pack was sewn with a lot of single or double stitching so I don't know how long it will hold up but I have used it for two months with no problems. Also the strap and back padding reduce the perceived weight of the pack and stays centered even when riding like a maniac on my trek so I wouldn't worry about a chest strap if you are looking for that. The only reason this gets four stars is because its relatively cheap for a slicker backpack and isn't too shoddy on the quality of the materials or fit. If it blows out or angers me in some way I will try to remember to update this review to spite the manufacturers... hope this helped.

After reading previous reviews, I decided to purchase this backpack. I'm a full-time college student, and I also take public transportation and walk very often. I needed something that was going to get me around to where I needed to go without breaking, something that was comfortable, long-lasting durable material, could handle a lot of heavy books, waterproof, and last but not least, something that was somewhat attractive looking. I found that I needed a bad that had a good amount of back padding to help with comfort, and also something that had 's' shaped straps, so that my shoulders wouldn't be in significant pain from carrying around my books. This bag was much more padded than anticipated! Its like having pillows behind you. Literally. There is so much space in there, along with plenty of side pockets. I also like that there is a rain slicker hidden in a zippered compartment at the bottom of the bag! This is so handy! The slicker is big enough to accommodate the entire bag when it rains, and although I haven't had a chance to try it yet, it seems like it could stretch enough to handle a bulging bag if need be. My books are pretty heavy usually but since I have been using this backpack for the past week, I haven't had any back pain, or shoulder pain whatsoever. I've actually never been more comfortable than with this bag. I personally think that it even is better quality than a northface bag. It has so many more pockets and comfort such as the well padded back panel. I also love that the laptop compartment inside is pretty well padded although it could be a deeper pocket. The top of your laptop may hang out a few inches like mine does. (I have a 15.6")There's also pockets inside for your laptop cord, and xtras.
I just love this bag. I don't think I could ever go a day without it! Who would have thought that I'd be sitting here gushing over a backpack? HA!

I got this backpack to replace my retired icon motosport backpack. I love alpinestars but this backpack was the smallest bag I have ever used. Despite the really cool button release and usefull water resistant zippers, This bag deserves a remake with a much bigger cargo space. I found the only useful thing is the laptop compartment but you really cant fit much else in here, and Im a small guy 5'9" 185lbs. Im going to have to return this with much regret I love the logo and color but it is simply not practicel for 140 bucks. Maybe 60 or even 80 but not this much. CLASSIC CANVAS MILITARY STYLE MESSENGER BAG LAPTOP BAG
The canvas bag is as you see in the picture and is pretty heavy fabric. It looks like it will stand up to quite a bit. However, we have not had it very long and the zipper pull already came off the bag. They really needed to use a much heavier zipper. Since the top flap goes over the zipper, it is still usable but a bit disappointing the zipper broke so soon. My son still really likes the bag however. If the zipper had not broken I would have given this 4 or 5 stars as the canvas fabric is very heavy.

High Sierra Loop Backpack
The qualities I look for in a backpack are durability and usefulness (usually size, practicality, etc...). This pack meet all those expectations. It is a backpack that would be equally comfortable on a long 7-8 hour hike or a 10 minute walk to class. With adjustable bands essentially everywhere, it is easy to limit the 'bulkiness' of the pack itself.The bag feels surprising large for the specified volume, but also weighs very little when empty. The cushioning all over the straps provides a soft touch. One thing that I didn't like is the feel/texture of the padding on the back. It feels like padding that has been covered up by a cheap plastic. Fortunately, the yoke shaped harness transfers most of the load on your shoulders and away from the back.
Durability wise, I cannot yet make a definite statement, but it seems to be extremely well built. The stitching looks to be good at every joint, and under heavy loads, there doesnt seem to be too big of an issue with the stitches stretching.
Overall, this was an excellent buy, and I plan on using it for years to come.
After about half a year, one of the shoulder straps started ripping apart at the seam, and the zipper to the front pocket had broken off. I think the high ratings for this backpack are based on early user experiences. I had initially rated the backpack 5 stars myself, but I'm downgrading the rating to 3 stars because this backpack isn't very durable. I've had JanSport backpacks that have held up to *years* of heavy use. If you're looking for something more durable, you might want to spend a little more to get a JanSport or a North Face backpack (both of which are renowned for their quality and durability).

Each of the two side pockets has an elastic band and see-through mesh netting. Each pocket is an ideal place for putting a water bottle, a pair of hiking poles, or even a tripod. I use one of the pockets for a camera tripod and the other for a water bottle when I'm out shooting.
3 zippered compartments
There are 3 other zippered compartments besides the main zippered compartment.
o The largest of the compartments (located in front of the backpack) has lots of pockets for putting your calculator, cell phone, stationery, etc. It has plenty of room; it will fit 3 or 4 small paperback books, just to give you a rough idea of its size. There's a hook for attaching your keychain too.
o The topmost compartment has an opening for threading the wire of a pair of headphones/earphones through so you can listen to music while the MP3 player is safely stowed away in the compartment.

This backpack is great. After my old Jansport backpack, I wanted something that supported my back a little more. At first, I wasn't used to the middle section of the straps digging into my neck, but I realize that it's there to take some weight off your shoulders and transfer to the back, and now I appreciate it because my shoulders feel so much better! The shoulder straps also have a nice suspension system and are cushioned very well, which makes carrying heavy books less of a burden.I'm a small person, so I wanted a backpack that wasn't so big, and this was a perfect fit. It's not a huge bag, but it fits a lot more than you'd expect. Also, the City Map/Ash color is very urban and unique.

My current backpack of choice is a High Sierra single strap backpack. I got this one since I thought it would be the same as my other backpack, but have two straps. There are a couple things that sadly are not the same. The main compartment doesn't have a padded divider. Since I use my backpack mostly to carry around my laptop, a padded divider would have been a HUGE plus. The second thing is that the compartment meant for your iPod (or other mp3 player of your choice) is the same plasticy fabric that lines rest of the backpack. In my single strap High Sierra, it had soft fabric for that compartment which definitely prevented scratching. The yolk at the top between the two straps is uncomfortable. I can feel it pressing against my back. Maybe I just haven't adjusted it correctly yet. Those things aside, it still has the same high quality construction and has plenty of room. Maybe once I break it in a bit more I'll be happier with it.Update: Yeah, this backpack blows. I have tried adjusting the straps in various ways, but that yoke piece is still bothersome. If you look at the picture of the mannequin from the back, you can see exactly what I'm talking about. Either the backpack has a gap between it and your back or that yoke is pressing into your neck. Personally, I want a backpack to sit flush on my back so if you need to bust out a sprint to catch the bus, the backpack isn't bouncing around smacking the crap out of you. It also helps defuse the weight more evenly. Even though the single strap High Sierra backpack tends to fatigue my shoulder if I wear it for too long, it's still infinitely more comfortable than this one. Gave it to my nephew to play with. He uses it to "play school".

I've used this bag twice a week for school for the past 8 months, and every single one of the cloth zipper pulls have unraveled/shredded. The more the pulls unravel, the more they are caught in the zippers. So I've had to cut them all of them off. The seams of the backpack are also coming unraveled such that 2-inch-long threads are hanging loose at seams all over the bag. Now I'm on Amazon shopping for a better quality backpack.UPDATE: High Sierra has a 100% satisfaction guarantee for their products. The claim was very easy to file and quickly processed. While they don't offer refunds, they did replace the bag and send a $10 rebate for future purchases. While this new bag does not seem to be of significantly different quality than the old one, HS should be commended for great customer service.
Transworld Mesh Backpack - Orange
most JHS and SHS require mesh bags nowadays and the cheap ones last about 3-5 months before ripping this one however seems more durable. wasn't as big as I expected but it serves its purpose plus the kid has a taste for orange colored things right now.

When i got the bag, there was already a rip in the bag.
After a few weeks, the bag started ripping at the bottom sides and the front pocket as well.
IT has no shape so it's lumpy and sometimes annoying to carry on back.
It was so hard to close this bookbag and to put things in this bag.
Constantly have to fix my things inside because they would constantly move around.

I forgot to say that even though i only put a binder and 1-2 composition books in it, it was still breaking. Can't really handle much.

Our school requires a see through back pack if we want to carry our stuff with us. This pack was a good price and it has been durable so far. Laurex 15.6" Laptop Backpack
I'm a professional adult female who has to carry my powerful laptop around with me for work, and I often have to carry it to various sites within a building during the course of a day. While messenger bags or briefcases may seem fine for traveling professionals, they can be cumbersome to carry or have at your hip. Also, I am buxom, so messenger bags work across the body have a tendency to look a little silly on me, and I find myself wearing them the way one wears a purse. With a backpack, I have my hands free, and I'm not constantly bumping into people with the bag at my hip. Distributing the weight onto my shoulders and back makes it so much lighter.This bag is perfect. The gold design (I got the beige butterfly) is subdued and everything about the bag is well made. It is very, very light and compact, yet holds so much! I carry a water bottle, a full sized legal pad, pens, a camera, my ipod, my kindle, my phone, keys, cords for all the devices listed above, and collapsible headphones in it without it looking stuffed or being too heavy.
I do have a Laurex messenger bag (I got the chocolate and gold) as well, for those times when a bookbag would just not be suitable, but my backpack is my go-to for everyday travel.
My only caveat is that they are not the fastest shippers in the world. I ordered the two bags the same day, and, because of pricing, ordered this from Amazon and the other from a large retailer's (that famous one headquartered in Arkansas with the smiley face logo) online store. They both arrived five days later, which in this day and age seems long.
If you are tempted to get the 17 inch size so you have extra room, don't. This backpack holds my 15.6 Lenovo ideapad perfectly, without it being a tight fit, and with plenty of space. The pictures don't show it well, but it has a nice pocket in the front, behind the clips, and it has another zippered pocket above that, and on the inside, there is another zippered pocket that has slots for ID and cards. The straps are the most comfortable straps imaginable. There is an odd strap meant to connect across the chest, but I don't use it.
It is worth the cost. I've had the standard $30 black laptop backpacks in the past, and they are functional, but not as well made, light, or comfortable as this one. I regularly wear it while walking a mile up and down stairs within a building, and those $30 backpacks would have added much more weight.
I have had it for over a month now, and it hasn't gotten dirty. Rain beads off of it, and dust brushes off easily. (Remember, I have the beige one, and its really more of a cream.)
I get compliments on it all the time.

I bought one of these for my Macbook Air 2011 and I can say the following:1. Visually its impressive. The Faux Leather looks and feels like the real deal. I was worried about putting any case on my Air as I didn't want to detract away from it's appearance. No worries on this point. The case actually makes my Air stand out from the rest.
2. Quality Although I haven't had the case for more than a week, I expect it to last for quite a while (and if it doesn't, another 18 bucks buys a new one).
3. Protection I'm sure there are other cases that can protect your air better than this one, specifically the clamshell type cases that snap around it to cover it completely. That being said, this case will protect the top and bottom extremely well. When the case is closed, only the left and right sides are exposed (the benefit here is that all the ports are open even when the case is closed). This is not an Otter Box, so if your expecting to be able to drop your macbook air from 10 feet, this case may not be for you. I can tell you though that having this case on here gives me a large degree of comfort knowing that the surfaces of my laptop are protected from scratches and nicks...
4. Wrist Rest When I purchased this case, I didn't realize it had this feature. The wrist rest is built into the case (the bottom part of the Mac Air slides into it). It has a cutout to expose the trackpad (which is fully functional) and is made of thin faux leather. I think it's not there for comfort, but rather to protect the Mac Air where your wrists rest. I know I've had several laptops that lose their luster there from repeated use and I was happy that this case will help keep my Air looking good for years to come.
5. Stand Built into the bottom of the case towards the back there is a pop-out stand. I assume this is to prop up the laptop when using it on a desk to help keep your hands in a "ergonomic" position. I very rarely use my Air at a desk (writing this review from my couch), but I tried it out and it was able to hold the laptop up even while typing a long email. Again, I wasn't expecting this, so I view it as sort of a bonus like the wrist rest.
6. Price I mean come on...it's 18 bucks and free shipping (if your a Prime subscriber). I was seriously considering buying the $79 Book Book case before I saw this one and decided that for the price I'd give it a shot. I'm SO glad I did.
This is my first review of anything I've ever purchased on Amazon (been buying here for 5 years or so) so that ought to tell you something. Oh...and I bought a second one for my wife's 2010 Macbook Air as well.
I selected it over the more expensive ones because most are just ripping you off. A 11.6 Macbook Air cover should not be costing more than $50 maximum.
That aside I am using this cover as I type this. As for the external quality of the cover it is pretty good.
Now the few things that ding it as far as rating goes are
1. The little flap on the bottom used for ventilation and propping it up when it is on a desk, does not always stay closed after use. This could be improved. You have to press it in and hold it to make it close, it will still droop down sometimes.
2. Is how it fits on the Air. The Palm rest area slides into the cover and it is not quite a snug fit, not bad but not snug. This is manifest as well when you close the cover. it tends to expose the back corners of the Air until you physically push the air in slightly or push the top of the cover back. In a travel situation when you are in a hurry this could be a problem. As the rear corners of your laptop would be exposed.
I suspect that the $50 faux Suede covers fit more snugly. I can say for $20 delivered it was worth the money. I am not entirely disappointed give that. If I had paid more? I might be more upset.
There are not a lot of options overall for Macbook 11.6 Air in Leather or Leather style covers. In fact most options are in the $100 range.
The bottom line here is for the money, its not a bad cover, not perfect not completely terrible either.
I am sure there are people out there saying you get what you pay for. Though In terms of manufacturing, none of these covers cost a lot a to make. Unless the cover is imported from Italy, or hand made here in the States, it should not be costing you in the $100 range.

I was concerned about getting this but needed a case quickly for my macbook air and so I went for it. I love it. It fits so nicely in the case, I don't feel like it adds much bulk or weight to it and it feels well protected. The little flap that snaps it closed tucks under easilyno problem at all. I never have used that back flap that you can prop the computer withI guess I was a little worried when someone said it might not fit back as snugly as it does now. I have not needed it at all. It looks really nice and has done a great job protecting my new computer from my kids grubby little fingers. I really like the suede like pads which sit where your hands rest. I think this is one of the best features. It really protects your computer from the constant wear of your hands. I would buy another if this one fell apartbut it seems so sturdy I don't see that happening anytime soon. I highly recommend this case. Overall I like this case especially for the price with just some minor flaws. It provides decent protection for the Macbook air.

This case does the job it is intended to do but is nothing special. The color actually seems a little washed out but again, it does the job for a really good price. If I were traveling with this laptop frequently I would probably prefer something a little more fashionable.
