It's a nice bag and good size. I've had it for about 5 months now. It's not water proof (just an FYI). Rain leaks in pretty easily. Also, the front compartment zipper goes off track alot could be just mine, but just thought I'd mention it.

Thule 12 Liter Messenger Bag

I have a nubmer of different laptop bags that fit my 15" MacBook Pro, most of which are made by Timbuk2. I have both the messenger style and a backpack style, which Thule also makes.

The Thule messenger bag is very stylish. It's been crafted with an eye toward design, and that much is obvious in just looking at it. It's a beautiful bag made with heavy-duty quality materials. I like that this bag is an understated black--it looks dressier than its Timbuk2 counterpart. The two problems I have with the Thule bag are the lack of pocket organization and the buckles used to close the bag. Both of these issues aren't a problem for the Timbuk2 bags I own.

At first glance, this bag looks well organized. A slightly padded rear compartment with a velcro latch houses your laptop. Although the padding is not excessive, I don't have any qualms about it. I feel my laptop is safe enough in there as long as I don't throw it around--pretty much like any other laptop bag you might find. On the other side of this zippered compartment is a mesh pocket that might be used for folders or documents. Under the main flap is a thin zippered pocket with a soft interior where you might put CDs or DVDs. There's a phone holster with a velcro strap specificially for iPhone-type devices, and two other pockets that are very slim. I can't fathom what one might put in these pockets... business cards? Next to them is a single pen holster. I carry at least four or five pens with me at all times, so this is a gross oversight in my opinion! Inside the main compartment is a zippered mesh interior pocket and the main compartment. Normally, I put my notebooks and books, iPad, etc. in the main compartment, but I haven't figured out what to put in the two zippered compartments. They aren't deep or wide enough to hold power cables or chargers, so those have to go in the main compartment. The design is just a little awkward when it comes to organization and I'm not certain I like it.

While the buckle closures are certainly well made and nice looking, they are just too awkward to close on the fly. Heaven forbid you have to open your bag and close it in a hurry, because you simply cannot close the buckles without putting the bag down and manually sliding the metal hooks into the extremely tiny loops of webbing. I much prefer Timbuk2's quick release buckles for ease of use, or even SealLine's stretch hook closure. Thule's buckles look nice, but man, they are a pain! Not to mention they do a great job of scratching the paint when you put the bag in the car...

Also, because it doesn't have a cross strap, you can forget about riding your bike with this over one shoulder. It's made for casual use, not commuting, which is a shame, because it looks like the interior is nearly waterproof!

The one other nice addition to this bag, outside of the travel-friendly laptop compartment, is the grab handle sewn into the bag. It's sometimes more convenient to pick the bag up by a shorter handle rather than the long strap. I do like this bag, and I'll undoubtedly continue to use it, but the detractors make it more of a casual messenger bag than an actual functional one.

Most bags I have owned in the past would fall apart within about a month, Im pretty heavy handed. Usually the bags strap hinges/buckles would give out,(do to the massive weight-age put on it). This Thule bag on the other-hand; looks as good as new after couple MONTHS, everything about it very durable from the front clamps those buckles and hinges; I can say I've meet my match. Personally, I recommend this bag, to anyone looking for something that will last a long while and can take some serious weight/abuse for a messenger bag.

First things first: The construction of this bag is overall very good. Very very good. The quality of materials and workmanship are first rate for a mid-priced bag of this sort.

HOWEVER, the grab handle is absolutely, positively, unquestionably, a flaming pile of ... junk...It's like a strong shoestring. No padding. Not ergonomic in any fashion. Now, if you tend to carry your bag via the shoulder strap, this may not be a big deal. But I normally carry my bags by the handle. And this one is simply unacceptable for a bag like this.

OK, let's say the grab handle isn't a dealbreaker for you. Well, as I mentioned, the construction is good. But I will take issue with the manufacturer's description of this as a "messenger" bag. Perhaps in styling. But not in function. "Messenger" bags (as opposed to PC/laptop bags) suggest roomier, more versatile design. This bag is quite snug. It will fit your laptop (up to 15.4") a notebook, your power adapter and a mouse. Maybe a few more goodies, but not a lot. If, like me, you tend to travel with a lot of stuff, this isn't going to be your go-to bag for long trips. Fine to take to work or conference, I guess. But it's not what I'd call a messenger bag.

It is stylish, in a synthetic materials mid priced way. And there are those for whom the Thule name is worth paying for, is a value added feature. You know who you are.

Overall, I'd say this is a fine bag if you travel light. It's nice looking, it's well padded, the construction quality is high, and the price is about what you'd expect.

But that hideous excuse for a grab handle is going to be a deal breaker for anyone who plans on carrying this bag any distance by the handle.

Leisure Lightweight 360 4 Piece Luggage Set

I'm a seasoned traveler and was desperate for LIGHT-WEIGHT-DURABLE LUGGAGE WITH SWIVEL CASTERS. Although hesitant to purchase without actually being able to physically try it, I felt i had nothing to lose since i couldn't find anything with swivel wheels in my price range. I bought this luggage back in December of 2010 and have used it several times since then. I AM EXTREMELY PLEASED with it. It is light-weight and the swivel casters are the key. Being able to turn the luggage sideways to get down the aisle of the plane is fantastic. That is the feature i really wanted, but the luggage that normally offers that is VERY EXPENSIVE, EXPECIALLY HAVING 3 PIECES WITH THAT FEATURE (the smallest bag's wheels don't swivel, just roll...no big deal since i use that as my computer bag anways. It is VERY WELL MADE AND QUITE RUGGED. I previously spent ALOT OF $$$$ on brand name luggage like Samsonite and American Tourister and have been less than thrilled with those brands. But this luggage, I've had 0 PROBLEMS! None of the: zippers breaking off in my hand, or the threads coming apart where the zipper is sewn, or the teeth being damaged so you can't even use the zipper, or the liner inside the luggage coming apart or the wheels/knobs breaking so it falls over, or the telescooping handle jamming and being unusable. I also love all the different compartments and the convenient 1 quart zip heavy plastic bag that is velcroed in so when you take out your liquids to go through security, it makes it easy. The smallest bag i use for my computer bag and use it EVERY DAY. Again it has been used and abused and works as good as the day i bought it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BUYING THIS PRODUCT and this is coming from a well-traveled individual.

I recently purchased this set and traveled to SouthAmerica for 2 weeks, we flew a total of 8 fligths and the luggage handled wonderfully! I used the small tote as a diaper bag and it made my life easier.I think it depends on the way the luggage is handled at the airports and even the toughest luggage might end up damaged at one point. I also used a few samsonite pieces during the trip and those where the ones that ended up damaged. The 4 wheel system makes it a breeze to walk through the airport and very lightweight but plenty of room to expand. I highly recommend this set!

We bought this luggage set for a 10-day vacation/cruise, and it was PERFECT!

DURABLE:

After being handled by multiple bus drivers, airport personnel, and ship personnel, NOTHING on any of our bags was broken or damaged. The extending handles, wheels, and zippers all made the trip intact. There were no tears in the fabric, and it was not visibly worn or dirty.

CONVENIENT:

I can't say enough about the wheel system on these bags. The three suitcase-style bags have 4 wheels on the bottom that can turn 360 degrees. This means not only do you not have to tilt the bags in order to roll them, you can also roll them in any direction especially useful for navigating through crowded airports and even up the airplane aisles. The smaller duffel-style bag only has two wheels and must be tilted in order to be rolled, but it has an extending handle tucked unobtrusively inside a zippered pocket in the back, so if you load it up and it's too heavy to use with the shoulder strap, you can wheel it right along with the rest of your luggage, or attach it to the handle at the top of one of the larger bags with the velcro strap also located on the back of the bag.

ORGANIZED:

I like to stay organized, and these bags certainly have enough pockets to help me do that. The three suitcases are identical, just different dimensions. Each has a large and small pocket on the front, a flat pocket on the back (great for storing things like receipts, boarding passes and passports), a mesh pocket inside on the lid, two shoe pockets inside on the long sides, and a clear zippered bag for liquids that can be velcroed inside or removed. The duffel bag has two separate main compartments and a large pocket on the front with a smaller zippered pocket inside that.

LARGE CAPACITY:

I had no trouble fitting about two weeks' of clothes, plus an extra pair of shoes, in the mid-size suitcase. My husband's clothes and all of our toiletries fit easily in the largest suitcase. The smallest suitcase we used for souvenirs. The duffel we used for two full-sized laptop computers with their assortments of cables and cords. The duffel, smallest, and mid-sized suitcases are all small enough to be considered carry-on for some airlines. The mid-sized suitcase may be borderline or too big for more conservative airlines, and the largest one definitely has to be checked.

Overall VERY pleased with these bags, highly recommended!

Updated 4/25/13 :: Product is not holding up as well as I had hoped. The fabric is really fraying and zippers are not holding up as well as one would hope for. As with so many things, you get what you pay for. I have downgraded this luggage to 3-stars because of the poor condition of the fabric, and it hasn't been used as much as the fabric would indicate.

We bought this set in Merlot for our daughter as a graduation gift (she was moving after finishing college) and she was going to be needing a set of luggage for moving cross-country and as storage. My wife found this online and went to see it at a local department store she came home very impressed. Amazon had it for far less money and we ordered it. I admit that I was skeptical this much luggage for less than $200? but it looks good, appears to be built well and from a strong nylon fabric, zippers are very sturdy, I was impressed as well. The daughter packed up and headed West with it and has taken a couple of trips with it since; everything held up beautifully. The smallest piece was left here at home and my wife has used that for business travel a couple of times before turning it over to the offspring and again, no issues. Our other luggage will need replacing soon and we plan to buy this brand again.

Knomo Avignon 15 Inch Slim Laptop Bag

I just received the Knomo Avignon 15 Inch Slim Laptop Bag for use as a slim "laptop sleeve" for a gift I am giving a friend. The bag is fine quality, maybe a little less than what I would have expected for the cost, but it still looks stylish and is a good alternative to the tacky neoprene laptop sleeves most department stores sell.

However, it doesn't actually fit a regular 15" laptop, even though it specifically states 'fits most laptops sized 15" to 15.6"'. The laptop I purchased has measurements of 15" x 10" x 1.25" (W x H x D). The product specifications state that it is 11.25" high by 15.5" wide, but apparently these are the external measurements. Why they would advertise the dimensions on the outside doesn't really make sense to me, since it is the space on the inside which is the critical factor. Through some pushing and pulling, my 15" laptop fits snuggle in the case, but then sticks about a quarter-inch about the lip, preventing the top zipper from closing. The bag appears to be designed for a MacBook Pro 15" model (0.71" thick), and not for a normal PC laptop. Perhaps the "Slim" should have made me pause before ordering the product, but there is also an "Ultra-Slim" model, and not a "Normal", so I figured that "Slim" was part of the fashion statement, and not that the bag wouldn't accept a regular laptop or Ultrabook.

Perhaps three-stars is too generous for a product which can't fulfill it's purpose, but it does appear to be a good quality product, and had the laptop been just a a half-inch taller and wider, it would have fulfilled its purpose perfectly. As it is, I will need to return the product and search elsewhere.

Dakine Girls Transit Back Pack

Perfect!

I just bought this backpack and I love it! It was comfortable from the moment I put it on.

Bought this backpack for school (college student here) and because I love Dakine (usually) but this bag somewhat fell between the cracks...

It's cute, the design is true to the photo, but it was not NEARLY as sturdy as i was expecting it to be, nor breathable. And the straps are super stiff and SO uncomfortable if you get any weight more than a few spiral notebooks in it...

I think I'll just stick to my ripped up NorthFace backpack...

Started falling apart in less than two weeks.

This was a birthday present and I was SO happy with the bag. The size, quality, pattern...everything was perfect.

Except two weeks into using it I noticed some threads that hold the zipper at the base were coming lose.

One week after and the threads are all gone.

I have been in midterms these past two weeks so did not have time to log in and ask for a return until this morning and even though the bag is falling apart, because I did not return in one month (past deadline by 4 days), I am now stuck with a backpack that did not last TWO weeks.

I have no words to say how unbelievably disappointing I am. So much for the quality guaranteed of Dakine.

I was looking for a backpack for college so it needed to carry a 14 inch laptop, one large and heavy textbook, a notebook, and miscellaneous things without turning me into a turtle.

This is perfect!

It does not have a separate pocket for laptops but that is fine, I always carry mine in a sleeve and the back of the pack is padded anyway.

I love how compact it is, the bungee cord to tie my sweater, the padded straps, and the sunglass pocket.

I purchased this bag thinking it would be strong and tough, I was wrong. In less than a month the shoulder strap broke off, cheap plastic. The bag ripped right in the middle next to the zipper, terrible stitching. If by any chance the bag ripes, the hole will just continue to run, cheap nylon.

I only had boxing gear and some extra clothes in the bag and all these things went wrong with it.

I don't recommend this bag to anyone, it's just a waste of money. I can't imagine what would happen to the bag if I actually wanted to carry big heavy things in it.

I bought this bag for my Kick boxing gear. At the beginning I thought it was a little to big, but after filling it up with gear I soon realized it was rightly sized.

I store my shin guards (XL size), 16oz gloves, MMA gloves, wraps, water, mouth piece, spare tshirt. Sometime I take my GI as well and fits right in.

Good quality and look. If I had to pick on something, it would be on the oversized zipper. It looks a little childish, but I get its more functional.

I would say, buy it. The price is also REALLY good compared to other bags.

I bought this bag on Amazon as I train boxing and BJJ 3-4x a week and wanted one bag to carry all the gear required for multiple martial arts from home to car to gym and back. To be honest I was not expecting too much given the price, but I was very surprised when I opened the box at my door. This gear bag over delivers for $30 in my opinion. The first thing you notice is the beefy main compartment zipper. It is oversized big plastic job with a great Title MMA logo pull on it. It is a great feature along with the nice sized mesh pocket on each side. Perfect for storing your keys, watch, phone, etc. while you are training and then great for sweaty wraps and t-shirt after. The large interior space is big enough to hold my 16oz boxing gloves, headgear, a couple pair of fight shorts, wraps, rash guard, bjj Gi, extra t-shirts, mouthpiece case, etc. I have had this bag for two weeks and have been very happy with it. So nice to have everything for training in one bag and not have to walk in with gear overflowing trying to carry everything in your hands or multiple small bags. Also as a side note-the logos are fine-not really a selling point for me either way-much more concerned with function than the look of the logos-that being said they are the standard Title MMA look and not too obnoxious.

The bag also has a zippered compartment on the bottom where you can pull out straps and attach so as to use it as a backpack. I have not used this feature yet, but might come in handy if you used this as a travel bag for tournament or just for a weekend travel bag-it is definitely big enough.

Thomas and Friends School Backpack

I didn't expect much from this backpack. Kinda cheaply made. It should last for as long as my little one needs it to. I haven't tested the bottle yet, no real need to considering you can just pack drink boxes. My son really loves the backpack though, Dad is just..meh.

Bought this backpack for my then 4 year old for summer day camp. It fit everything he needed & more. It could hold his change of clothes, a hooded towel, & Crocs. We later brought it on our trip to Hawaii and again, the backpack held plenty board books, coloring books, crayons, toys, candy, snacks, over-the-head child headphones for the ipod all without being too heavy for my child (who is typically a little smaller than the average kid.) I liked this one because it has a place for drinks on the outside and because it has 2 outer pockets. The size is not too large for a preschooler and when filled, not too heavy. Two different summer day camps, a trip to Hawaii & a trip to Disneyland and the backpack still looks brand new. Holds up very well. Highly recommend it!

CA state law says you can't listen to headphones while bike riding unless you use only one ear bud. That just didn't fly with me so I bought this backpack. I chose this backpack because it's the only one that has 2 speakers. Music has been recorded in stereo (2 channels) since the 1960's so I don't understand why they make so many one-speaker devices. I guess most people don't care. Anyways, I'm very happy with my purchase. The backpack itself is nice and compact, perfect for bike riding, but it surprisingly fits a lot of stuff. I rode to the store and I was able to fit a loaf of bread, a half gallon of almond milk, a bag salad, and a half dozen eggs no problem (glad i didn't crash with the eggs). As far as the audio, this thing sounds pretty good for what it is. It will really bump when you're inside. When I'm outside cycling I have to turn my ipod up a little more due to road noise. You control the volume using your own mp3 player, there is no volume control on the backpack amp, it's defaulted at full volume which I like (who wants to mess with 2 volume controls when you're out having fun?) The little amp is in the small pocket and it looks like a little cd player. It's powered by 4 AA's and it shines a blue LED when powered on. An LED on the outside would've been nice since I never remember to turn it off. The batteries do last a while but as they drain the sound quality gets worse and worse. The amp is just not pumping out enough wattage to drive those speakers resulting in a floppy muddy sound. So whatever you do, always remember to turn the amp off when you're finished using it or you'll be cursing on your way to the battery store. I'm able to get 2-3 hours of loud listening in before this happens though but I NEVER remember to turn it off so it might even get more. I recommend this backpack for sure.

ProPac Back Pack Cooler

I bought this bag from airspeedjunkie.com after a friend recommended it to me. I use it for everything. I use it when I go the park or beach with my kids, great for packing all of their stuff as well as lunch or a snack in the cooler compartment. I take it to the gym. And I've used it for trips as my carry on. It's spacious, has durable material and is easy to use. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

This bag is like the travel pro bags I have. Same material but with a little more thought behind the design. Great bag if you like to take your lunch with you and your laptop or ipad. The Avengers "Triple Force" Backpack

I can not tell you how disappointed I am with this product. I came in today and within minutes of opening it I noticed stains on the back and straps of backpack. Looks like grease. I am going to try a Tide pen and pray it gets the stains out or I will send it back. This is for my nephews birthday and I refuse to give him something stained to take to school. This really sucks.

BBP Hamptons Hybrid Messenger/Backpack Laptop Bag Black Small

I've owned several BBP hybrid bags, but my favorite is the small Hamptons hybrid as my everyday work/laptop bag. Frist and most important to me, it is outstandingly comfortable to carry in backpack mode due to the unique strap design and low position of the bag against your posterior (like a WW2 parachute!). This is a real ergonomic breakthrough! Any bag over just one shoulder will eventually hurt your back! Regular backpacks are better, but the weight is up much higher than on this bag, making it harder to put on and take off compared to this design. It rocks for comfort, and is totally unique! Second, the small version of this bag is quite compact, but VERY versatile with all the storage I need for a small "traveling office". Here is how I use the pockets, moving from the inner side outward: it has room for several file folders in document pocket, the laptop in the main compartment (mine is Toshiba M750 tablet with slice battery), power cords and external drive in the main accessories zippered pocket, and an accessories odds-n-ends bag in in the last interior pocket. I keep a water bottle in one side pocket, and a small umbrella in the other side. Going across the 3 outside pockets on the back flap, I have room for wireless mouse, small mobile speakers and noise-cancelling headset, and sync/power cords for smartphone, etc. There it is, everything I need on daily basis at work. A larger number of various size pockets makes it very easy to organize accessories in small groups, and therefore you can find just what you need, quickly, vs. digging through fewer, larger pockets. On overseas trips, I carry the medium version of this bag, so I can include a few other accessories like GPS, PrintStik, etc., but I don't want the bigger size for everyday use when not traveling. My only complaint is that the mesh on a couple of the pockets on my first bag ripped pretty easily, but I'm still using the bag! The mesh on the medium bag I bought later seems to be stronger, perhaps they upgraded the material. I've just ordered my second Small Hamptons to get a fresh bag after a couple years, replacing the bag with the torn mesh. Could have chosen any other bag out there at several times the price, but there is nothing better for my needs. May this design continue to be available and improved, I've found nothing else like it for the combination of comfort, convenience, and price. Overall, very satisfied!

I bought one of these bags in 2007, and have a lot of positive things to say about the design. I really like the lack of any velcro, the bright orange lining makes it easy to find things in the main pocket, the laptop compartment is great, and the design of the pockets and straps is very intelligent. I have been extremely happy with how much I'm able to fit and with how easy it is to organize everything. At the time I got it I thought the whole "switch between messenger bag and backpack" feature was a big gimmick, but it turned out to be pretty useful for me. I live in Chicago, and although during the summer I always wear it as a backpack, during the winter you've usually got so many layers on when you go outside that getting your arms through two backpack straps is kind of a pain, so I switch to the messenger-bag style.

So, why not more stars? This bag did not last. After about two years, the zipper on the laptop compartment was beginning to separate from the seams. Shortly after this, the upper stitching on the interior began to separate, and after less than three years the laptop compartment zipper was no longer usable at all. I was surprised at this short lifetime; I used the bag regularly, but was hardly putting it under a lot of stress. The typical day was carrying my laptop and a book from home to the office and back. But even more surprisingly, although I contacted them about these issues twice BBP refused to replace or repair the bag, in spite of their guarantee. Bags may not last forever, but the $50 LL Bean backpack I got in high school has lasted over a decade under much heavier use than BBP's bag. So although its design is very appealing, I would not recommend buying this bag due to the lack of durability and my experience with the company.

I first bought the Large, returned it, then I bought the Medium and returned it, then I bought the small. The others were too big. The small one is the perfect size for me. The difference is the size of the pocket for the laptop, which I must confess, the pocket on the small one is too small for my Dell laptop, so, I put laptop in the inside pocket instead of in the laptop pocket. It works for me :-) I only give it 4 stars because it is a bit sloppy. If you don't clip the closures to the over flap, it makes noises. (clack, clack, clack, etc.) and it's just a bit too floppy, otherwise, it is perfect for me.

The fact that this bag works stylishly as both a backpack and messenger bag is one of the many unique features I love about the Hampton Hybrid. It's also extremely comfortable and doesn't put a strain on any concentrated part of my back. The generous lumbar padding feels great on my lower back and you can tell that this bag/design was well thought out and executed. Well constructed, durable and seems like it could take quite a beating. Hope to get years of use out of it. I wish this company would release some newer bags or colors!
