I've had 2 GLO bags now, and I couldn't imagine having to go back to a duffel bag for my morning routine. The level of thought put into this bag's design is amazing. Everything you need to get ready for your day will have a place in this organizer, and it will be easy to find! Even better, your sweaty shoes and clothes can be separated from the rest of your "dry" items until you get home: genius! I'm a very busy woman and use this bag every weekday; it's a lifesaver.

I love this bag. Sometimes I am forced to use the gym during peek times and the locker room can be very crowded. And sometimes I have to change from running clothes to swimming clothes, then dress for work. Being organized saves me minutes that I would rather spend doing laps in the pool.

I read with interest some of the reviews that wished the product had better zippers or was made with higher quality materials. I just don't see it unless you are comparing this with a Tumi or other $400 piece of luggage. And this is for the gym. I'd rather replace it in a few years than drop that much cash for a gym bag.

So this is a definite recommend for price, quality and functionality.

I like this bag. It's cool that it's more like a backpack than a bag. The compartments are a good size for the day's gym trip. The only problems I've had are the zippers aren't as smooth as I'd like. Other than that it's a good buy that I hope will last me a long time. I've been using for about 4 months now with no breakdown.

JanSport Right Pack Monochrome

I've been holding out on buying a backpack because I wanted to make sure that I found the right one. I had been looking for a solid colored, good quality, spacious backpack with compartments for better organization, and I finally found it. I bought the New Storm Grey color and it is a bit lighter than what the picture shows, almost silvery looking, but still a nice color. It is spacious on the inside and has a compartment for laptops, which is a plus. Another plus is that it has a leather/suede bottom, which I like because then I don't have to worry so much about the material getting dirty when I set it down.

It was also delivered within a week, which was great, and I was so happy to see how good it looked. The only thing that I wish is that it was a little smaller because I have a small frame, but eh, I'll get used to it.

When I initially purchased this bag, I did it because of the color and the quality. I've been using it for a couple of weeks, and I don't have a problem with the quality at all. The only thing that bothers me is that the color was not as dark as it seemed in the photo. I expected a darker shade of purple but it's kinda light. Besides that, it's a good bag.

I'm a big fan of the black color, and I was looking for a new backpack for college. After looking at different ones, none convinced me. I decided to browse one here in Amazon and I found this one. The backpack is pitch black, not light black or charcoal black. I can fit my binder, notebook (not laptop), two 3" thick books, plus my iPad. It has a a medium compartment for your pens, a pocket for whatever you want to store there, and a front zipper pocket for something else. A few classmates have asked me where I bought it, given me positive comments like how awesome it looks, asked me to seel mine to them. I loved it overall. Recommend it!

Lewis N Clark Uncharted DryGear Day Pack (40-Litre)

I have received, and returned, two of these DryGear Day Packs now due to the same issue: open seams.

The first bag had a 2 inch open (i.e. not waterproof) seam where the outer pocket was welded to the main compartment. The second pack had a huge 5 inch open seam on the main compartment's side, guaranteeing flooding of everything you need to keep dry.

To me this looks like a manufacturing defect in addition to poor Quality Control as these bags should never have left the factory.

If for some reason you still decide to order one of these bags make sure to immediately check all seams.

This bag was a quality buy, though I wish it were a bit bigger. The dry zipper compartment actually works really well! I use this bag as my motorcycle travel bag in a rather wet and windy region so if you're looking for a nice day bag to keep your items dry from the weather, this is a good recommendation.

The zipper was fully closed when it arrived, but the zipper mechanism was in the center of the zipper (not at the top or the bottom where it should be). It broke soon after. It is comfortable with all of the padding but i only used it for a one day hike. I have a feeling that it would become very irritating on more than a one day trip.

Under Armour UA Charm City Gym Duffel

Purchased this for my wife as her CrossFit bag and she loves it. She wanted a bag with compartments that separate dirty wet items from her clean change of clothes and this bag does that. Also,lLots of compliments on the color scheme from her colleagues at CrossFit.

I was in search of a bag both functional and fashionable, and I got it with this! This bag is perfect. I schlep around a lot of stuff (i.e. cycling shoes, sneakers, a lot toiletries), and it fits everything comfortably with room to spare. The design is super cool; it's a metallic-like nylon fabric with unique embossing. I've only had it for a couple of days, but I've already received a number of compliments.

I take this bag with me everyday from home to work to the gym. I love it, although it is a little small. I try to put about 2 gym (light) outfits and my tennis shoes and they fit perfect. However, over the winter when I wear boots they do not fit in the bag! :( that would be my only downfall for this bag. it has plenty of compartments and i love the materialyou don't have to worry about it getting dirty.

Wenger Computer Backpack - Red

I got this bag right after finishing school in Dec. Since I graduated I do not need to take a bag with me as much as I did when I was a student, so I haven't used it a lot. I read about people having trouble with their 15" laptops not fitting, I wasn't worried about mine fitting cause I got a 12" laptop, but I tried my parents 15" Fujitsu to see how it fit. Its a pretty thick computer. It was very very tight. Maybe it would stretch out the pocket a bit over time, but it was a real pain to get it in and out. The tags on the bag do say fits MOST 15" laptops.

I came across this bag at Best Buy. Before I saw it I had been planning on getting a Lowepro laptop and camera backpack, since I have one Lowepro camera backpack which I mostly like. Problem with the Lowepro bags were that I couldn't find them in any stores to look at, and the two models I was looking at online were $150-190, and I didn't even really like them that much. Also I don't need to take my camera gear with me all the time, only when taking trips. Anyway, this bag looked well made and it was only around $50. After spending some time online and in stores looking at bags while I waited for my computer to arrive I decided on this one.

I had worried a little about how to pack all my camera gear if I have this bag when I travel, I didn't want to have to take this bag and a camera bag. But as it turns out, the big compartment in this bag is big enough to hold the padded insert from my Lowepro Rover AW camera backpack.

Pros:

Lots of pockets, lots of space.

Mesh pockets on the side are good for drinks.

Seems well made, but I haven't really put it to the test yet, and I haven't owned it long enough to see how it will hold up over time.

No waist belt. (some might consider that a con...)

Stands up by its self.

Compression straps (I think they're called) on the sides.

Cons:

All my complaints seem to be in one compartment. In one of the compartments on the front, which has slots for various small items, there are no pen slots. I really like pen slots. I put my pens and pencils in one of the wider pockets, but if the bag gets turned upside down they all fall out.

Same compartment: all the wider pockets are too narrow for anything I want to put in them, such as business card case, electronic dictionary, etc. It could just be me that thinks they are too narrow, but I think other people will feel the same way.

Choice of colors. I read on Amazon that the gray model is more like silver, so I got red. I would have preferred all black.

Could use some more padding at the top of the computer compartment.

These things I listed as cons are really minor though. Just the things that could have made it an absolutely perfect bag.

I am sure I will have more to say about this bag once I get to take it on a trip.

UPDATE 3/11/08 I have had the bag for about a year now. Its held up well, but it doesn't see daily use. I took it on one trip to Korea and Japan. I like the big open pocket on the front of the bag. Its good for holding things you want easy access to. It looks like the bag is available in blue now. Silver and red were the only choices when I bought it last year. My other complains when I first wrote the review are still the same. Also, the bag no longer stands up by its self as well as it did when it was new. I still really like the bag.

This is an excellent backback. I did a lot of research on what I needed in a laptop tote. I wasn't sure about how it would handle as I traveled through the airports. It handled extremely well as I found out.

The great points:

1) Incredible amount of room with lots of pockets.

2) A separate compartment for the laptop which makes it easier to pull the laptop out while going through security. The strap holding the laptop in is also very easy to open and it keeps the laptop from moving around.

3) The open pocket so that you can stuff itinieries and paperbacks in there as you get on and off the plane.

4) The shoulder straps are easily adjustable and very comfortable.

5) The padding is also very comfortable, I sometimes forget that I have it on.

6) Cool little pocket atop the pack for MP3 players or for wallets.

7) Hard core handle up top for easy and confident transfer.

Not so cool:

1) The small doodad bag up front where you are supposed to stash keys, cell phones, pens and pencils does not have a double zipper so it can easily be wide open without you knowing.

2) The second handle on top of the pack is skimpy and makes no sense.

Overall, I love it and I enjoy using it as I travel about. The pack is very well designed and holds some very pleasant and surprising features.

I wanted to follow up the reviewer that said a 15.4" computer will not fit in this pack. Because of this review, I took my HP dv5000, 15.4" notebook to Best Buy to see if this backpack would be suitable for me. My computer fit in it just fine. Perhaps Wenger has made adjustments to the design, perhaps the reviewer got a lemon, or perhaps not all 15.4" screeened laptops are within the tolerances that Wenger desgined for. Regardless my 15.4" computer fit in this pack just fine and I will be buying it.

I absolutely LOVE THIS BACKPACK!!! In the months it took me to find this product I probably tried every other brand of backpack on the market and none of them come close to the comfort, capacity and styling of this bag. It is well built. I fly from Fl to Ca frequently and carry a Fujitsu T4020 laptop, along with literally a ton of books. With my previous bags my back would ache under the weight, but with this one I hardly feel like I have it on. It fits perfectly under my seat even on the small commuter plane. I particularly like the padded compartment (intended for an ipod or CD player) which I use for my digital voice recorders and camera. I also like the way the padding supports the weight yet still allows for the air to circulate -an important factor for those living in hot climates to consider.

I've tried many cheap one, ones that I've rebuild, even old military packs. All either lacked quality of construction or were uncomfortable to wear. Old Military packs are nice but lack style and they are green. No pack seems perfect but this is as close as I've found in a 20 year search. Thule 12 Liter Messenger Bag

I have a nubmer of different laptop bags that fit my 15" MacBook Pro, most of which are made by Timbuk2. I have both the messenger style and a backpack style, which Thule also makes.

The Thule messenger bag is very stylish. It's been crafted with an eye toward design, and that much is obvious in just looking at it. It's a beautiful bag made with heavy-duty quality materials. I like that this bag is an understated black--it looks dressier than its Timbuk2 counterpart. The two problems I have with the Thule bag are the lack of pocket organization and the buckles used to close the bag. Both of these issues aren't a problem for the Timbuk2 bags I own.

At first glance, this bag looks well organized. A slightly padded rear compartment with a velcro latch houses your laptop. Although the padding is not excessive, I don't have any qualms about it. I feel my laptop is safe enough in there as long as I don't throw it around--pretty much like any other laptop bag you might find. On the other side of this zippered compartment is a mesh pocket that might be used for folders or documents. Under the main flap is a thin zippered pocket with a soft interior where you might put CDs or DVDs. There's a phone holster with a velcro strap specificially for iPhone-type devices, and two other pockets that are very slim. I can't fathom what one might put in these pockets... business cards? Next to them is a single pen holster. I carry at least four or five pens with me at all times, so this is a gross oversight in my opinion! Inside the main compartment is a zippered mesh interior pocket and the main compartment. Normally, I put my notebooks and books, iPad, etc. in the main compartment, but I haven't figured out what to put in the two zippered compartments. They aren't deep or wide enough to hold power cables or chargers, so those have to go in the main compartment. The design is just a little awkward when it comes to organization and I'm not certain I like it.

While the buckle closures are certainly well made and nice looking, they are just too awkward to close on the fly. Heaven forbid you have to open your bag and close it in a hurry, because you simply cannot close the buckles without putting the bag down and manually sliding the metal hooks into the extremely tiny loops of webbing. I much prefer Timbuk2's quick release buckles for ease of use, or even SealLine's stretch hook closure. Thule's buckles look nice, but man, they are a pain! Not to mention they do a great job of scratching the paint when you put the bag in the car...

Also, because it doesn't have a cross strap, you can forget about riding your bike with this over one shoulder. It's made for casual use, not commuting, which is a shame, because it looks like the interior is nearly waterproof!

The one other nice addition to this bag, outside of the travel-friendly laptop compartment, is the grab handle sewn into the bag. It's sometimes more convenient to pick the bag up by a shorter handle rather than the long strap. I do like this bag, and I'll undoubtedly continue to use it, but the detractors make it more of a casual messenger bag than an actual functional one.

Most bags I have owned in the past would fall apart within about a month, Im pretty heavy handed. Usually the bags strap hinges/buckles would give out,(do to the massive weight-age put on it). This Thule bag on the other-hand; looks as good as new after couple MONTHS, everything about it very durable from the front clamps those buckles and hinges; I can say I've meet my match. Personally, I recommend this bag, to anyone looking for something that will last a long while and can take some serious weight/abuse for a messenger bag.

First things first: The construction of this bag is overall very good. Very very good. The quality of materials and workmanship are first rate for a mid-priced bag of this sort.

HOWEVER, the grab handle is absolutely, positively, unquestionably, a flaming pile of ... junk...It's like a strong shoestring. No padding. Not ergonomic in any fashion. Now, if you tend to carry your bag via the shoulder strap, this may not be a big deal. But I normally carry my bags by the handle. And this one is simply unacceptable for a bag like this.

OK, let's say the grab handle isn't a dealbreaker for you. Well, as I mentioned, the construction is good. But I will take issue with the manufacturer's description of this as a "messenger" bag. Perhaps in styling. But not in function. "Messenger" bags (as opposed to PC/laptop bags) suggest roomier, more versatile design. This bag is quite snug. It will fit your laptop (up to 15.4") a notebook, your power adapter and a mouse. Maybe a few more goodies, but not a lot. If, like me, you tend to travel with a lot of stuff, this isn't going to be your go-to bag for long trips. Fine to take to work or conference, I guess. But it's not what I'd call a messenger bag.

It is stylish, in a synthetic materials mid priced way. And there are those for whom the Thule name is worth paying for, is a value added feature. You know who you are.

Overall, I'd say this is a fine bag if you travel light. It's nice looking, it's well padded, the construction quality is high, and the price is about what you'd expect.

But that hideous excuse for a grab handle is going to be a deal breaker for anyone who plans on carrying this bag any distance by the handle.

Victorinox Luggage Mountaineer Duffle

I purchased this knowing I would want it for traveling cross country and via airplane, but I bought it a week before my camping trip to try it out there first. It fit a ton of items several outfits of jeans, tees, and necessities, plus toiletries (including full bottles of shampoo and conditioner), brush, a couple sweatshirts, a pair of sneakers, and a few other miscellaneous items. I easily packed for a week-plus.

I love the design, the purple color isn't too girly, and the bag is easily packed on a shoulder even when fully stuffed. I am now looking at other products in the Victorinox Luggage line to expand my travel gear.

It is a 4-day backpack & bag. It is very spacious and very well made and has a rugged construction. All materials are excellent quality. The interior has a double wall so items to carry are well protected. There is also a very big inside pocket and an external one. One of the things I love is the two adjustable padded straps on both sides where you can carry your jacket and a sleeping bag. The option to convert it to backpack from a bag is just great. I disagree with the reviewer that says that shoulder straps are cheap and easy to break because they are made of plastic. I have experience with bags and can tell that the straps are excellent quality and difficult to break. I have other bags with steel straps which are heavier to carry, I prefer these ones. Make no mistake, this is the backpack for a 4-day trip, it won't disappoint you. There is also an orange ring in the shoulder where I attach my VHU/UHF or GPS60CSX when I go to the mountains. All zips are YKK. And finally...it is a Victorinox, a name in which I trust since I received my first SAK long time ago.

Brooks Saddles Barbican Messenger Bag

Some things to think about.

1. It doesn't look as elegant/professional in real life as in the pictures.

2. Brook's photographers are very good.

3. I trust it's construction much more than a north face backpack, but slightly less than a proper timbuk2 bag.

4. my roommate took one look at it and said "that's a liberal art's professor's bag"

5. that's okay becuase it can carry a semester's worth of text books every day and manage to look only better after a year.

6. which is what you really need it for.

After a lot of research and prolonged decision, I finally bought this Brooks Barbican bag from Amazon.com. The bag looks very nice. The leather shoulder strap is quite stiff but really add coolness to the bag. Somehow the real bag is more of Khaki colour not very white like shown on official Brooks England website. The image on Amazon.com is even more misleading because it shows the white leather version, which is a rare model (and much more expensive).

The canvas bag is made in China according to Brooks England website but it does not matter as the built quality is excellent. My only small complaint is that the bag is quite heavy (1.5 kg.) but given the leather, thick fabric straps and thick canvas justify the weight.

One strange thing is the size. I was suspecious when I received the bag because I ordered the medium size. The bag looks like a large size. So I made the measurement. It has 42 cm. wide and 30 cm. tall.

From official Brooks England website:

the medium is 34 cm. wide and 30 cm. tall.

the large one is 43 cm. wide and 33 cm. tall.

So mine looks like a hybrid model.I can't return it because I am in Thailand now and it's gonna be tricky to exchange for a new one.

The Sharper Image Backpack Speaker System (Black)

This is a great backpack. I needed to get a backpack since I am going back to school. First thing is that the speaker is detachable. It also has pop out stands so you can stand it up. Its a great speaker for camping or going to the beach. The speaker is really good quality for something that only takes 3 AA batteries! There are several ways to hook it up.

First, you can put your MP3 player in the back of the speaker. You can do this while the speaker is attached or detached. It has its own headphone jack in the back and can be used entirely separately. That is the best feature about it.

Second, you can put your mp3 player directly in the front of the backpack in a clear pouch pocket on the strap. There is an extension with another headphone jack in the front. You can plug in either the headphone jack from the back into it, or a pair of headphones.

Pros:

-Great sounding portable speaker system

-lots of room in the backpack

-many storage compartments

-durable

-relatively light weight for a backpack with a built in speaker

-convenient places to put mp3 player.

-Detachable speaker is great

-a pretty good backpack for school, camping, or whatever you use a pack for.

Cons:

-No sternum strap. With so many backpacks having these today it is missed in this backpack simply because the sternum strap's purpose is to distribute the weight evenly. It is a missed necessity, but because of the big padding, it is tolerable without it.

-No place for a pair of headphones to stick out of the top. You have to make them come out of the zipper. It is more of a nitpicky thing, but would have been a nice addition.

-No volume control on the speaker itself. Probably save power this way, but if I could balance the speaker volume with the MP3 volume I can probably even better quality. The quality is still good though, I just like to be able to turn it up louder without the distortion and not having a volume control on the speaker itself does not enable me to do that.

All in all this is a good backpack. It has a very padded snug fit to it. There is a laptop pouch in it as well as many pouches and pencil holders. The speaker can be used with anything that takes a standard headphone jack so it works for portable DVD players, laptops, etc.... I have also tried out the speaker with all kinds of music from heavy metal, to hip hop, to smooth jazz, to country, and it really sounds good with all of them. Has a good bass for a 3 AA battery speaker! If your looking for a backpack and a portable speaker all at the same time, this saves you time and effort. Good buy and I would highly recommend it.

I was looking for a backpack and saw this exact backpack speaker at the Base Exchange for $59.99. I would have bought it there but they did not have one in black. I found a black one on Amazon for $38.99 and ordered it immediately. I received it in just 4 days.

This is a well made, quality backpack with many pockets. It has plenty of room for books, iPod or Smart Phone, computer, etc. The speaker requires 3 AA batteries and sounds great considering the size.

I replaced my old shoulder backpack with this beauty from Sharper Image. I have long been a Sharper Image customer the name is synominous with quality. I am totally happy with this piece of art. For the price, I thought we were getting a great quality product but the backpack handle ripped within the first month of use. My daughter is in 2nd grade so they don't even carry any books let alone heavy items in their backpacks. All she usually has is a homework folder and her sweater, and sometimes a lunch bag in her backpack. Oh, well. She loves Totoro so much but I wouldn't purchase this item again. Waste of money for bad quality!

I ordered this for my friend's birthday and it arrived literally 2 days after ordering it. It looks great in person and is really cute. She loved it. Only downside is that it's not designed for everyday use at school because it doesn't support much weight for a long time as many other backpacks do. It's still a great backpack to go adventuring with!

I really, really wanted this backpack to work, since I had been searching.... A lot. This is a great, great messenger bag, but doubling as a backpack it is really awkward to put on with the way the straps work.

Here are the pros:

The leather is beautiful.

The quality of the bag is great.

Its nice looking on.

Here is the only con for me:

The straps are awkward. Every time I tried to put the backpack on (in backpack mode) I would have to really wiggle around and try to get the straps right, and straight. What I learned is if the top straps are not attached to the pack for a backpack and are not stable and not directly connected to the pack then it is really hard to put the backpack on.

If you look at the image of the backpack closely you will notice that the bag can be either a messenger bag or a backpack. Its great as a messenger bag, but I really want a backpack.

There was nothing wrong with backpack, but I now understand that the straps need to be attached to the top of the bag so that it is stable for putting it on.

Before I purchased this bag, I read reviews all over the web, including on Sak's website. It didn't get the best reviews, but I was extremely attracted to the color and versatility of the bag. When I received it, it was as I expected. It isn't top quality leather, but I looked closely enough at it online to see what the texture would be. I purchased a different bag for $250 at another store, which was supposed to be leather, and I think the quality of this leather is nicer. I returned the other one and kept this Sak bag.

The camel color is rich, and I do find it works great as a messenger (although I am 5' 2" it hits me right at the hip) and also a back pack. I had read that the loops slip when you wear it, but I haven't experienced that yet. The main compartment is rather small, but based on its dimensions I didn't expect to be able to fit anything more than an iPad and other essentials.

I haven't had it for very long a few weeks so I can't speak to its longevity, but I feel it was worth the price I paid and will get a lot of use out of it.

My daughter needed a backpack/bag for school and she is in second grade so when I started thinking about how much I had to lug around as a kid and how much more they appear to be lugging around now I began looking for school bags with rollers. My wife argued against it saying it would single her out and that we should stay fashionable and go with some cartoon inspired design... but since I was the one at the computer during this R&D debate and had the power of the mouse I made the clicky and this is what we got. My daughter actually chose this bag out of the few I gave her to decide on and she loves it both the look and the rollers. Ohhh and guess what 'Handles' and 'Rollers' are in... I have seen a good percentage of her classmates and older kids using the rolling packs so it looks like my ergonomic choice wins on both fronts. This bag is not small it is actually a regular sized bag and has a ton of space but that shouldn't deter you from going for it as I would rather have more space then have to crush my lunch against the side to make room for my school work. Also a note kids TV channels have infomercials like crazy so gotta pay attention to quality and design versus what those things are offering our children.

Tactical Molle 3 Day XR Explore Pack Backpack

I ordered this pack as a pre-order to get ready for the summer hiking season. I really like the way this pack is set up! There are more than enough zipper pockets on the exterior of the backpack to hold everything that I need to take with me, and the material is really strong and seems to be of a good quality. Things I liked about the pack include:

-Great back padding

-Removable front pocket straps and waist straps if needed

-VERY cool zipper just behind the back of the pack

-large enough for my longer hiking trips, but small enough to be something like a school backpack

The bag itself it pretty large. Can't really tell from the images on here but it is big. The material is pretty good too. Some places are a little thin, like around the seams on the inside, but unless you hold it up to light and look from the inside you'd never know. I love the velcro stripping, great for patches. There are more straps on it than I know what to do with, so you could either try to tie them up or cut half of them off to be honest. All around good bag though, it'll pack your stuff if you need it to.

I bought this product to use for hiking, hunting and the impending zombie apocalypse (ok, maybe the last one was a little exaggeration). Upon arrival the pack looks nice made of good material, PALs compatible tons of storage / pockets. The pack fits well but can be a little challenging to adjust (not easy to adjust when wearing it). Although I haven't had a chance to really use the pack, I'm somewhat concerned with the strap buckles they're made of what appears to be a very weak plastic leaving me with the impression they won't last too long or handle harsh treatment. Time will tell and I plan to follow up this review with an update in 6 mo. to a year (or if something breaks / falls apart before then).

I still think for the price the pack is a pretty good value considering 5.11 and others sell packs of similar sizes for up to double the price. However, if this doesn't last or handle the expectations of a tactical pack I will probably buy a 5.11 type brand of backpack.

I bought this mainly for the perceived value so far I'm pleased with the purchase and would do it again.

I have a 15.5" Sony Vaio and it fits perfectly in this bag. The bag is well padded (on all sides), has TONS of pockets to hold your umbrella, cell phone, battery pack, waterbottle and more all at the same time. I purchased this bag so that when I travel I can add my purse contents to it and only have to carry one bag. It will EASILY do that and carry more. The fabric is a heavy-duty micro fiber and the handles come wrapped in tissue for protection. The little side bag works great to put your gum, chapstick, nail file, etc. in it. I highly recommend purchasing this bag for your computer!

I agree with some of the reviews that this item does provide laptop cushioning yet there is no way to secure any of your items inside the top does not close! there is no zipper!

Thus, you can put items inside the tote but they will fall out. There is no way that you could bring this through airport security. The moment you lay it on its side, all contents fall out, including your laptop.

The straps are very cheap and will soon break. The straps are configured incorrectly, the picture is not an accurate depiction. There is no way to loop this tote over your shoulder and carry it unless you want thin plastic straps digging into your shoulder.

The material itself is not "microfibre" it's just cheap plastic.

I absolutely 100% adore this bag. It has a sleek look and adjustable straps. There are two side pockets one where you can put your cell phone and one where you can put your sunglasses (or in my case, my car stereo face). Inside, it is easy to keep clean fabric. Two large sections with one section padded for your laptop. I've looked at about a million large bags and disliked most of them, so I didn't have high hopes for this one that I ordered sight-unseen. I'm very, very pleased with it.

The padded laptop slot easily takes my MacBook (17" diagonal). The 2 outside pockets keep my 2 most-used things handy (sunglasses and iPhone). There's a little hook for my car key (which you don't actually USE with a Prius you just have to be able to find it to lock the car.) There's a mesh thing that's perfect for a water bottle or umbrella. The lining is nice, practical, smooth black nylon. Plenty of room to throw in gloves, hat, scarf, camera, etc. in addition to regular stuff like wallet & that little bag that comes with it for your lipstick etc. etc. And there are other pockets to organize other things...

OK, the straps are plastic, but they look & feel enough like leather, and you can't get leather at this price (or weight). If I could change anything about this bag, I'd have the heavy-duty black fabric straps that come on Baggallini bags, and I'd add a cross-body long strap. But otherwise this is a great bag, just big enough for the purpose and very very light (until you add the laptop of course). OH! and best of all, it stands up by itself. No leaning or falling over. How great is that?
