Fits well in carry-on compartment of a plane. Enough room for a weeks worth of summer clothes, & very durable. Love it!!I have been using this travel bag for several months and I am very very happy with it. It is durable, and just the right size for a carry on.I purchased this item in early July (2011) and it's already damaged and inoperable. Admittedly, I travel a lot (130K miles this year & counting) but this item didn't even last six months. Specifically, the handle no longer works (the handle won't rise making it next to impossible to do anything but carry the bag). I liked the styling and the size of the bag but the quality is completely unacceptable. My advice, save your money and make a different selection!Phineas and Ferb Rolling Backpack - Large Phineas and Ferb Wheeled Backpack

This is a cute backpack but not very sturdy. The metal pull handle broke after just a few uses. My husband was able to reinforce it and fix the broken area (screws sheered off), but then the mesh side pocket had loose threads at ;the bottom and just disintegrated along the seam. Then one of the wheels broke. My son is only third grade, so "school use" was not very rigorous and there was never more than one book and one folder in there, so weight was not contributor to the breakage. The bag is also not well balanced and will tip over completely if anything is in it. I think it would be okay for preschoolers using it around the house or as a car case, but it's really not good for much else.Bought this for my son and he loved it! The ony thing I would change is the back piece that is suppose to cover the wheels when used as a back back rather than a pull. It drags and tears and there is no real way to protect that piece.Want Phineas and Ferb Rolling Backpack - Large Phineas and Ferb Wheeled Backpack Discount?
I bought the Phineas and Ferb backpack to use as a mini-suitcase/carry-on for my son when we travel as he's too young to carry a backpack. It's very durable and roomy inside and the wheels are a perfect addition. It was bigger than I expected which was a nice surprise as I was able to fit enough clothes, diapers and shoes in for over a weeks worth of traveling. It's something he can grow into using on his own and I have no doubt it will last. Overall, this is perfect for occasional travel or even daily use.Little Mermaid Large Rolling Backpack

I also like it because, it has the red stripe on it and it is red inside and it looks more like it is for a female than the others that I have seen, that is only black and look like they were made mostly for men. This bag fits an unusually large laptopthe screen is more than 17", and it did not fit in any other rolling case. This bag is reasonably well made and durableit isn't extraordinary, but for the money it is well made. I think it will last several years at least. It is easy to use (wheels and handle) and gets the job done.
The laptop is a Samsung and I think it has one of the largest laptop comparments made.

Very good for Medical Detailing ( and I carry bulky products) ...every little compartment imaginable.Gave it 4 stars because usage time is still short and the stripes come standard.

MAXPEDITION FALCON-II BACKPACK OD MAX0513G
I've been using this pack for day hikes and weekend trips. It's comfortable to wear and balances well, and its narrow profile makes it easier to move with than a wider pack. It easily holds my poncho and blanket, plus water and food and cooking gear. I still have plenty of room for other items like clothes, hatchet, flashlight, toiletries, first-aid kit, etc. Overall, I think this is a great pack and I highly recommend it.I had placed the pack on my wish list, and was surprised with it as a birthday present. Although the primary intent was for me to carry my gear when relic hunting, I took advantage of a zoo trip to show my wife just what the pack could do. I asked her into the kitchen where she watched me pack every item she wanted to take to the zoo into my new daypack. Being a Former (FMF) Corpsman with the Marines, I took a great amount of joy in not only packing what my wife thought was essential, but I also added other items she had not even thought of. Have two children ages 2 and 3, I included the essential changes of clothes for "accidents" that might occur if restrooms were not near. I can go on and on about just how efficient thig bag is, but you realy need to see for yourself. After showing the bag to a fellow relic hunter and demonstrating only a few of the features, he quickley asked where and how to obtain one. This bag is great for everyone, and easily adjusts to the needs of the occasion. Dads couuld think of this as the coolest diaper bag ever if they don't like what they are currently carrying.

When I travel this bag has to be with me. *EDIT* The XL complies with the carry-on baggage measurements *EDIT* It holds everything I need and keeps everything safe and undamaged. People say there is a large heft to the bag. I like that. If I wanted something that's light weight I would keep buying the same junk that will be ruined in 3-5 years. The heft of these bags means quality materials and work has been put into them so that they last for centuries (I can only vouch for a year so far).
I have this bag in an extra large. I'm 6'4", 200 lbs and this fits me perfectly. It's not too large or too small. I can easily pack two pairs of pants, a pair of shorts, three t-shirts, two dress shirts, some underclothes, my toiletry items, a book or two, my notebooks and some pens without having to cram things in. If you have all three straps buckled you are going to find it's a pain to get into, do as the picture shows and tuck the left and right straps back up and through the loops and only buckle the middle one if you know you are going to be pulling stuff out of it all the time.
The price is high, but you really do get more with this item than you will with any other bag in this price range. The main website even has their competitors linked on their site so you can do a comparison against their items.

3/27/2011: The leather is really starting to get soft, like a pair of boots do after wearing them a while.
Also due to all the airlines charging for checked luggage I have problems now finding space for this XL guy. I've had to check it at the gate a few times, but I just quickly take off, and pack, the shoulder strap followed by strapping down all three closure straps. There's a bit of fear that someone might go through it (especially traveling to some international locations), so do be careful of that.I flip bags. I buy one, use it, enjoy it, get bored with it, then sell it on eBay. I kept looking at the Saddleback medium briefcase, but I kept looking at the weight, 6 pounds, and could not bring myself to buy one. After all, I go to so much trouble and expense to find lighter and lighter laptops, so why add 3 or 4 pounds to the empty bag?
But then I realized, when I fly, and hike with a Macbook and several other electronics through a huge airport, I can take another, lighter bag. But when I'm in town and not walking far, I can enjoy the amazing Saddleback. So being a cheapskate, I bought a pre-owned one on eBay, thinking, if I regret it I can sell it on and not lose much at all. I usually shun anything preowned, but these do have a 100 year guarantee, and a new one is only new until you use it, so I did it, and it seems to be good as new, except with enough scratches and patina to allow me to use it with abandon and not worry about the first mark appearing.
Anyway, I am not disappointed. I love my briefcase and it gets looks and comments everywhere. To be specific. it's the medium size in dark coffee brown. You cannot find one in a showroom or a store, so unless you run into someone like me, you can only judge it from images or videos online. But let me tell you, if you like bags, if you like good leather, and you want a distinctive piece of craftsmanship, treat yourself to a Saddleback briefcase a.s.a.p. You won't regret it. Like me you'll sit and look at it for hours, and take it everywhere you go.

This is a tremendous briefcase. The leather is quite heavy duty. My medium briefcase is in dark coffee brown, and while the leather scratches quite easily, it really does look better with some wear. The small pamphlet of religious materials included didn't do anything for me, but I can respect someone standing by their beliefs, even if they are not mine. The briefcase is somewhat heavy, but I have not found it to be overly cumbersome. The medium fits my MacBook 13" perfectly, and fits the 15" just fine, though it does stretch the back compartment a bit.
Highly recommended. I look forward adding more pieces to my collection over time. This briefcase has gotten many comments over just a few weeks of ownership.

What! Only 2 stars? Let me explain. I don't actually disagree with what is being said, and I would have written a similar review after having the bag a short time. But after 2 years, I ended up selling it. The good news? If you ever decide to sell it, you will get 80-90% return on your initial investment. This bag is simply too heavy to use as a daily bag. I walk a fair amount as a professor, both on campus and at conferences, and the weight was simply too much. I'm no wimp, but try walking around a good portion of the day with this thing around your shoulder. Also, the weight of the bag nullifies all the light, thin, laptops, phones and gadgets of modern times. The bag looks great, smells great, feels great..... and makes a great display piece. But it simply makes no sense to carry around your stuff in a such a heavy bag. I tried to convince myself it did, but after a couple of years I wised up.
I do love good bags, though. And I like to support small companies making great things. I ended up with a Mission Workshop bag. They make all their stuff in America (unlike Saddleback), have a lifetime warranty, and their stuff is cool (a different type of cool than Saddleback, but cool nonetheless). Wonderful customer service, too. Oh, and it is only a fraction of the weight of a Saddleback while carrying way more stuff.
My advice? If you simply love the look and character of a Saddleback bag and you don't plan to commute reasonable distances with it, you might be happy in the long run. Otherwise, find something that is a bit more practical for day-to-day use. Notice that most of these reviews are by people who just received their bag, and like when you're in new relationship with someone that doesn't really make any sense to be with, but, hey, she's pretty hot you overlook some major issues. I spend two years with one as my daily bag, and the initial appeal had long worn off. A bag is meant to carry stuff around, not be a chore to carry around itself.

This is a nice bag. It's tough. You can throw it in front of a speeding train and it will survive (the contents of the bag probably won't though). If you live in a humid environment, you need to use it everyday or store it in a room with a good dehumidifier. Otherwise, this bag will get moldy really fast.
This bag is heavy. It's not for people who complain about carrying things. If you're the type of person who will complain about heavy bags, don't buy this bag. Get a bag with wheels.
One more thing, I don't recommend using the backpack mode too often as it can lead to scoliosis due to the odd weight distribution. I used to use this bag in backpack mode all the time. Then my doctor found that my spine was slightly curved. Ever since I stopped using this bag, my spine has recovered.
BTW, this bag has a 100-year warranty. And the customer service people of the company are really nice.

The backpack is very well made and extremely durable. I was very impressed too with the size. Its the perfect size for my needs.I believe I made a very good choice when deciding to purchase the Element T-Pole Rolling Backpack.A Guy who knows quality and style when he sees it.Our daughter needed a bigger backpack for first grade so we bought this and she is very happy with it so far. It holds everything she needs and it seems to be built strong to handle all the abuse a first grader can put it through. This is a really nice and sturdy backpack. We previously had another CalPak rolling backpack (the Impactor), but the handle broke after about a month. So we decided to still purchase another CalPak, but different model because we like how it can fit an 18oz water bottle on the side pocket. We couldn't find many rolling backpack models that could accommodate a larger sized water bottle. This particular model (the Element) is much sturdier and the fabric looks clean/bright. The fabric on the Impactor seemed old and the colors dull. The CalPack Element is a great purchase we highly recommend. It fits a lot. Gets heavy though & I was using it to avoid lifting but still had to lift it. It often tips to one side on curb drops. But it's got a lot of space. I only use it on small trips now & may sell it. It fit my big laptop but just barely, plus TONS of other stuff. I never used the backpack part. I like that it stays up when I stop. If you're looking for a quality product it is really well made. Zippers are great & space is shockingly ample. The front pouch is a bit too low so some of those internal features are lost without digging.

5. soap
6. small sized vaseline jar
7. nail clippers & nail file

9. a few other small miscellaneous itemsI purchased the Eagle Creek Pack-It Quick Trip to replace an old travel worn Dopp Kit. The pack-it quick trip is well made as are all of the Eagle Creek items I own. At first, I thought the pack-it quick trip was too small; however, this made me take inventory of what I had been carrying on trips for the last 15 years and realized that I didn't use half of it. SO, with a revised inventory of toiletries, I loaded up the pack-it quick trip for a two week trip to Australia. The quick trip functioned flawlessly, held everything I really needed for two weeks on the road, and still had some room left. My favorite feature is the zippered pockets on both sides one is ventilated and is a great place to stuff your razor if you are rushed and have to put it away while still wet, and the other side was a great place to put small stuff that usually settles to the bottom of your kit and requires you to dig for in my case it is fingernail clippers, a comb, and a pair of tweezers. Eagle Creek, you have done it again!

This little bag is perfectly sized to toss in a full-sized "family" tube of toothpaste, tooth brush, razor, bar of soap and a tube of cream. Fantastic for quick trips as the name suggests. It is also the perfect size for a travel electronics bag. It holds my laptop's powerbrick, travel universal adaptor, USB adaptor and car adaptor in the main compartment, and my Kensington and IGo tips in the side mesh pocket.
Highly recommended as a quick trip toiletry bag for those that don't need a toiletry bag that hangs, or as a compact travel electronics bag. It's simple, well-made and effective.

The Eagle Creek Pack-It Quick Trip is utilitarian. I am a female who is sick of cheap cosmetic bags. I finally decided to go with a better-constructed, albeit less attractive, toiletry bag. This bag is not large, so if you need tons of space, this probably won't work. However, the base of the bag is quite large. I am able to fit a round, double-sided mirror in the bottom with room for eyeliner, mascara, eyelash curler, tweezers, a couple hair bands, a brush, toothbrush, and toothpaste and I still have room left over for extra bottles, etc.
The two small zipper pockets on the front and back are great for all that stuff that falls to the bottom of your dopp and essentially gets lost. I agree that the mesh pocket is great for a wet toothbrush or anything that needs air to dry.
I also backpack, so having a handle on one side and a loop on the other makes it very practical for storage. If I need more room in my pack, I can hang this off the side or from a tent, etc. It hardly weighs anything and fits well in small spaces.
I also like that it matches all other Eagle Creek packing cubes, etc. and that it is made from recycled materials.I throw all my travel tech cables, chargers etc. in it when I go. It keeps things organized with the pockets and does not take up a lot of space.

I have logged over 10k miles with this luggage and multiple airlines handling it, including delayed baggage handling (which often does not turn out well for international flights) and it has come through with shining colors. Scuffs are not as noticeable. Very durable yet lightweight. I average one trip overseas a month (sometimes more) so I need something that will standup to rigors of frequent travel. So far I could not be happier.Read Best Reviews of Tumi Vapor Medium Trip Packing Case Here
I travel a lot and go through luggage like crazy. I bought this Tumi Vapor Medium Trip Packing case and absolutely love it. I have only taken it on 3 trips thus far and it was a bit expensive but I love the look and feel of it. It seems very durable, solidly built and very easy to roll. The airlines have already scuffed it up with rubber but it seems to come off if cleaned. The product is fine. Were I making it myself, I might make the pad itself a little narrower, but it's really made for toting a heavy object, and not for replacing a broken briefcase strap. (I used it for the latter.)The padding is nice but not obnoxious, and the length is widely adjustable to adapt to many messenger-type bags.Jack Georges Vertical Wheeler
Just a couple of minor downsides I have found -and it's minor - is that it is very deep. Banged up the tips of my finger nail polish, so you'll wnat to be organized about what you put where. Routing around in there can take a while. Also, outer pocket is very deep,so you'll not want to keep anything you don't want to lose in there. The flap has a gap at the top and it is easy to have things fall out, especially when you tip it up to put it in an overhead compartment. And it's hard to stack things on top of it. They seem to fall off easily.
I had it monogrammed at the shop where I bought it and can bring it back there every six months to have the leather treated, which is the only reason I'm not kicking myself for buying it at the last minute locally instead of online. But either way, you will not regret this purchase!

The messenger/briefcase is of an excellent quality and is perfect for what I need to carry and have at my disposal at all times at my work. I am very, very pleased overall with this product. Having said that, I would ask this company to continue to strive for that level of excellence as the product will "sell" itself for all potential customers. Marketing and manufacturing need to continually work in tandem to bring new products, based on customer need and want, into their line so as to maintain a greater market share as a result of this quality. I bought this case for my laptop and all the junk I have to carry back and forth to the office. It is very soft leather and looks great. The one thing I really liked is that it has handles but also has straps to use as a backpack. The carry handles fold inside out of the way so you can throw it up over your shoulder for easy carrying. I've had this about 6 weeks and so far I love it.Want Vicenzo Classic Genuine Leather Briefcase Messenger/Laptop Bag/ Backpack Discount?
Reviewing this product is fairly easy, because the description and photos for it are so spot-on that practically all you have to do is say, "Yup, the bag is just like it looks and is described." And that's so.Just a few little details: the leather is thin and well broken-in already, so it has those characteristic crackles and softness. It doesn't need to be broken-in, as some leather products do. Also, because it's thin or sometimes even sewed over fabric, it's not as stiff or as heavy as some full-leather products are. But it's very well-made, nice stitching, wonderful design. The fabric lining is thick enough and doesn't feel as though it will tear or stretch easily.
The bag's design is its biggest selling point, and no, the pictures don't lie: you can carry this thing by handles (or tuck them away), by a shoulder strap (thin but adjustable), or by -ta-da! -shoulder straps that pull out from a zipped pouch in back, turning this into a backpack.
There are two main compartments accessible from up top. Two straps on each side can expand or collapse the bag's width if you need the extra room (or, alternatively, want to make it skinner to look more like a briefcase). The two attached pockets on front are accessible either from up top or from the front of them the two zippers that you can see in the pictures are not for separate pockets. Behind these two attached pockets, however, are two zippered pockets that go down the side of the bag. (You can see this clearly in the pictures.)
Overall, it's a very nice design, great size and versatility. The zipper teeth are plastic and a little stiff. I can foresee a time when they might catch or stretch out of alignment and make a zipper hard to open. Also, if loaded up with things, I'd recommend either carrying from the handles or in backpack form, because the shoulder strap clasps, that attach the strap to the ring holder on the bag, feel as though they could snap under lots of weight absolutely fine under normal use, just feel dicey if the bag is loaded it with a laptop and cords and file folders and sundries really stretching and weighing the bag down (as I have to do sometimes). These minor details make me give it 4 stars (but really, I'd want a 4.5 or 4.75, you know.)
At the sale price I got for it ($129), it's a great bargain and a great bag. Recommended.
