Samsonite Columbian Leather Flapover Case

I couldn't decide between 2 very similar bags on Amazon, so I ordered both: the Kenneth Cole Reaction Luggage Show Business ($123.99) and the Samsonite Columbian Leather Flapover Case ($139.99). It took me about 5 seconds to decide that I preferred this one. To me, the $16 difference is negligible. In terms of size and pockets, both are about the same. I prefer the Samsonite for a few reasons:

1) The Samsonite leather was noticeably softer, which I prefer.

2) The Samsonite latches buckle/unbuckle smoothly and effortlessly. One of the latches on the Kenneth Cole felt stiff and required a little effort to release. This may be a design flaw, or I just got a defective Kenneth Cole.

3) The laptop compartment on the Samsonite was about 1/2 inch deeper. This allowed more of my 15inch MacBook to sit in the compartment.

I'd still give the Kenneth Cole high marks; however, the Samsonite is better for me.

I was looking for a nice leather messenger bag to replace my very well worn 10+ yr old samsonite leather messenger -I chose wisely. I have only had for 2 weeks, so can't comment on the durability, but thinking it will last quite a while. It is big enough for my laptop, the power cord, several folders, a wireless mouse, and other supplies -and doesn't feel overstuffed. It looks great and while I hesitated because of the "handle through the hole in the flap", this is actually a feature that I like quite a bit. The handle feels more sturdy connected to the bag itself, rather than just the flap as many bags do. I highly recommend this messenger bag.

I bought this laptop bag for my husband as a birthday gift and he absolutely loves it. It is sturdy and looks great. I only have one tiny suggestion. I think it would be better if the handle was built into the top flap. But that definetly does not change my opinion of the bag..highly recommended!

I have owned this bag for about 3 years, and it has held up well, considering I travel with it weekly, and is technically my virtual office. For the price, I definitely recommend this bag, and will likely buy another... Beware there are two areas of weakness: The strap hardware that connects to the bag is a swivel type/clasp are made of pot type metal and didn't last... I went to the hardware store and bought some chain links, and back in business... 2nd: The zipper is a light use zipper, and I have gotten things (usually paper) caught in it that nearly jammed the zipper. Also, when going on extended trips, I have over packed the bag putting stress on the already weak zippers... Don't over-pack the bag the zippers can't handle it... With that said, after 3 years the zipper derailed completely... The leather is excellent I may look to have the bag repaired instead of buying new...

I purchased this for an added layer of protection for my ASUS Eee Pad Transformer, and it has done it's job as intended. The removable strap came with a bent latch that won't stay closed, so it's been detached since I got it. The sleeve feels like it provides enough padding, but I'm a bit iffy about the material's durability.

I was worried about how big this sleeve is, because I had intended to use it on top of my Transformer's leather case. I'm happy to say that, despite having a 10.1" tablet, it fits in the sleeve, with its case, and with plenty of room to spare.

Designer Sleeves 15" Executive Laptop Sleeve

Beautiful bag but it was misrepresented it does not have a shoulder strap or pockets inside like shown... disappointed.

I am so picky about computer bags, I have a closetful. The only one I use all the time is the one I take on business trips, a vertically-oriented small roller bag that fits my Mac laptop, cords, cables, and many other things. But the rollerbag is overkill when I just want to bring my 15" MacBook Pro along for the day, like to a friend's house or to an all-day seminar.

This bag arrived just a few days ago and I LOVE it. The shoulder strap is adjustable (the picture shows it at its shortest) so you can wear it as a messenger bag if you lengthen it. The handles on top are padded and very securely attached.

The 15" laptop slides in quite easily, there's a little extra wiggle room so you don't need to pull it on like a wetsuit (which a few other sleeves I've tried are wont to do). The zipper extends down around both corners (about 2") so you don't have to worry about scratching the case when you pull it out or put it in.

The inside has a good-sized mesh pocket with a velcro closure, and another pocket with smaller pockets in front for pens or credit cards, which I doubt I'll use. Both of these are on the same side, as shown. The other inside side has no pockets. But the outside has a roomy zippered closure for my power cord and USB drive, it could easily fit my iPad too. I like how the outside zipper is hidden behind a curve cutout outlined in black, which you can kind of see in the pictre.

The exterior artwork is lovely and unusual. It's extremely light, as any sleeve would be. The bag looks high-end but the price was right. Well done!

Angry Birds Large Rolling Backpack

I ordered this backpack for my son and 2 days later it broke and he's so upset and I have to buy another one, the bottom of the backpack broke and the handle broke as well and now I have to order another one and school has not even been in session for 1 and 1/2.

Everki EKP120 Titan Laptop Backpack

The size and quality is all I expected, and more.

Have you ever bought a laptop bag that was labeled "for laptops up to 18 inches", to finally discover that your 17.5" laptop wouldn't fit? I have.

Now I have a 18"+ ASUS G74, and there are very few bags that even pretend to fit this.

I got the Everki Titan backpack today, and my laptop fits perfectly. Not only that, but I can add my smaller 17.5" laptop if I want...

Alternatively, I can also fit the bigger laptop, a tablet and my DSLR + telephoto lens + tripod.

And in either configuration, there is room to spare for power supplies, battery chargers, external hard drives, and a change of clothes if I need to use it as a carry-on bag... Which I can, because it fits well within the allowed dimensions in airplanes bins.

The build quality is also excellent: large zips (so they will not get stuck), sturdy materials, extra strappings to make sure you can carry that extra weight easily. The inside is well designed (I counted some 15 pockets of all sizes, but I may have missed some), and generously padded.

The only quips I have so far are very minor: I would have liked a few larger pockets (most of them are only large enough to put a power supply in -the brick size kind I have for my laptop), and well... aesthetically, it's not bad (mostly because the all-black exterior is discreet), but definitely looks industrial. Then again, I didn't buy this backpack for its looks.

I got the backpack when I was damn close to $200 (that's including the shipping) so I was kind of doubting my self if I ordered this backpack, but before I ever order anything i always to research.

I spend days if not weeks researching the item and if i can find something better for the price, and honestly I highly doubt you'll find another backpack that has the same quality and features as this bag dose.

Im a gamer and will always be, but I also travel quite a bit and i had always wanted a backpack that i could take on the plane/car/bus and have all my gear with me, and this backpack dose not Disappoint.

Owned many laptops and various bags over the last 20 years and this is hands down the best bag I have ever owned. I have an Asus G74S that's a beast to haul around. I run youth events, DJ, and obviously take this bag and Asus wherever I go. I'll start with the pros. Space, # of internal and external compartments, quality, padding, zippers...I love this bag. I keep my mouse, firewire converter, DV Camera, Ipad 2, and all my cables...along with pens, binder, and on the long days, drinks and snacks. On the downside...I would say none. Originally, the primary enclosure for the laptop was tight, but with use, the G74 slides in perfectly. I believe the G74 is one of the largest laptops in the market. Unlike other computers it's size, the computer case is larger than others because of the fan system that blows out the rear versus under the laptop.

Will definitely be looking for more bags from this company.

Stephen Joseph Boys 2-7 Quilted Backpack Zoo

We love this soft, light, colorful well-made bad. The pictures are adorable. What kid doesn't like wild animals? Our 2 year old boy can wear it easily or use the handle. The magnetized single and the simple string pull are easy for us and him to use. It holds the few things he needs for pre-school extra clothes and a thermos perfectly. He's excited to own it. He pays no attention to the two other small backpacks handed down to us, Bob the Builder and Thomas the Tank Engine, even though he likes those characters. This pack is much more attractive and tactile and it's nice not to have an over-commercialized, plastic clunky cheap bag that rips.

I'm a small girl. Carrying around a backpack with a laptop, water bottle and notebook usually gives me back pain. I bought this bag for the laptop compartment and high-quality, BUT, what I love most are the big cushy straps. I longboard to campus over a mile each way and I have had no issues with back pain since having this bag. I have ALWAYS owned Jansport bags and will never go back.

Just a heads up, the zipper took a while to wear in. At first it would stop and be awkward to move, but after a week or so it opens and closes with no issues. Also, the leather pulls on the zippers fall off. :(

This a minimalistic case, not for pack rats!

If you carry your power adapter with you, it's going to be a tight fit.

+ iPad 2 : Has compartment for a naked Ipad 2. If you use a case/sleeve, you can fit it in front of the dedicated pocket.

+ Good padding around, except for the very bottom. I would cut a small piece of foam, or neoprene from one of your old cases and put at the very bottom. If I dropped the bag and it landed in the same orientation as you would set it down, I'd be slightly worried. That being said, it is one one of the better cases I've looked at recently.

+ Fits the MBPro 15" very nicely.

Won't fit the Macbook IF it is in a Lacie zipper-less sleeve. you can shove it in there, but will be turning the bag inside out to remove it. I like to use a sleeve plus the bag personally.

-/+ you will get a magazine, or two in here, but not much else in addition to the iPad and the Macbook Pro 15". No text books!

Photos -if you look at this on the Incase website (same model), it shows the straps as being detachable, and having a grab handle. The Amazon photos are correct for the Amazon product.

Being a minimalistic bag, it's on my shortlist, as I can fix the padding myself. There are not a lot of minimalistic bags.

I purchased this product in April 2011 and by around October/November 2011 the seams attaching the shoulder strap to the bag had begun to separate from the canvas. There was no undue wear or tear, just a 15" MBP and a couple of notebooks. The strap also lacks stitching down near the buckle to prevent the strap from bunching and forcing the buckle sideways. I would check out some of the other available shoulder bags.

I originally bought this with hopes of proving to myself that shoulder bags are better than backpacks -turns out this isn't the case (which is the only reason I gave this 4 stars). This bag is still a great bag, however. Like some others have said, it does not have a lot of space for anything really except a laptop, tablet, and a few accessories, but the plus side is that it looks extremely stylish.

I still prefer backpacks over shoulder bags any day because they allow for more mobility and are more comfortable.

I had the previous model which was sold in Apple stores. I loved that one. It eventually ripped out where the strap attached to the bag, so I bought this one to replace it. Same company, same bag? Nope. Quality is lower. The strap seems thinner, and the coating seems to be less. It is hard to say if it will hold up as well as the first, but it just doesn't feel as well made. On the other hand, I spent 50% more for the previous one in the Apple store, so maybe there are actually two models without a visual distinction.

One physical difference is that this one has a snap for the front flap, instead of Velcro. I prefer the snap, but wouldn't choose that over the difference in quality.

The bag is exactly what I thought it would be. It's adorable and exactly what I was looking for.

Be warned. It's small.

This bag is wider than it tall and deep; pretty much meaning it wont fit much. I don't have much to carry though so I didn't see that as a problem.

The zippers do get stuck every now and then-which is why I only gave it 4 stars.

One more thing to note is that the shade of red this bag comes in is much darker than the picture up there (I was happy it wasn't like the picture though). It's more of a blood red color than orange red.

This is perfect in that it's big enough to hold her folders but small and light enough for her to carry around. Only bad thing is the zipper on the front pocket broke in a week. To be fair, it may not have been built to withstand the rough tugs of the younger ones.

AmeriLeather Traditional Double Slip-in Executive Briefcase

My mom wanted to get me a leather briefcase this year for Christmas so I took to the web in search of something suitable. I wanted good looks and high quality but didn't want her to break the bank, and then I found Amerileather. The price point was perfect and I liked the simple look of the double slip-in briefcase. Mom ended up getting it for me and I was really impressed. The moment I began to tear off the wrapping paper I was greeted with a rich leather smell. The product itself is very well made, with a comfortable wrapped handle and clean stitching all around.

I would esitmate it is large enough to carry a 15" laptop cleanly and a 17" laptop very snugly in the rear compartment. The middle, zippered compartment has stiff walls and would be suitable for carrying fragile documents. The front compartment has several pockets for smaller items like cellphones, etc. and would be a good place to store laptop/ipad/cell chargers. Finally there are two snap-closure pouches on the very front under the flap that could be used for whatever.

The slip-in closure isn't like anything I've ever used before but it is a quick and simple closure that minimizes gaudy looking hardware. I would recommend this product to anyone.

I am not easily convinced of a products quality until I actually received it and can judge it myself. This briefcase is excellent quality, great value, it looks and feels wonderful. Always nice to buy something and truly feel you got your monies worth.

Eagle Creek Travel Gear Evelyn Personal Organizers (Black)

This is a darling little (and I do mean little) bag. It's very chic and classy looking, but unfortunately, very impractical. My iPhone fits comfortably in the outside zip pocket and a passport would fit in the inside pocket, but there's not much room for anything else. No room for a wallet, no way to organize credit cards, ID or money, or anything else.

I am a big fan of Eagle Creek products, but this "pouch" is only that and lacks their usual efficient and organizational touches. It would have been easy to add card holders along the inside as well as a zip pocket inside for currency and or small items. Because it is not useful, I will be returning it.

Rothco Vintage Canvas Weekender Backpack

I bought this because it looks really nice, and I've had a few people mention how much they like it.

The straps are really wide and comfortable, they don't dig in and I barely even notice the straps while wearing it.

There is lots of room so it can hold a lot of stuff.

Sadly those are just about it for my Pros column.

Because of the material my shirt *constantly* rides up in the back. I feel like I'm reaching back every 30 seconds to pull my shirt back down so its a huge annoyance to me, but if you don't mind it then go for it.

While all the buckles and such look nice they can be annoying and time consuming to do and undo. Not a deal breaker but if you're in a big rush its a little inconvenient.

The adjustment buckles on the straps are VERY loose and never hold the straps tightly enough to keep them at a desired length. Walking in general will cause the straps to lengthen rather quickly, and never at the speed for each strap. And I lost count on how many times I would accidently touch/brush or even just look at the buckle and cause the strap to suddenly lengthen by inches.

Because the main compartment is so large it can be uncomfortable to carry certain things, like school books. The books would constantly lean back, causing the pack to lean back too, and if the book is small enough it will just fall over completely and lay flat, which can be just as annoying. The drawstring just wasn't efficient enough to keep things close.

So in the end, I wouldn't suggest this backpack for everyday school use. If you like going camping and want to use it for clothes or something, that would be good.

Huge, comfy, perfect. The straps do not dig into your back like other bags without padding can. I use it for college and it holds all of my books, supplies, water bottle, and extra crap too. I had all of this in my old, regular back and it felt like it weighed a millon pounds. This bag makes it feel like all I have is a couple of notebooks or something. Also, my old backpack barely lasted a year of college with visible wear/tear after a month. This bag is has gone through more abuse than my old one ever did and looks brand new. Only problem I've found is that it makes your shirt ride up a bit, but that's to be expected of the material. Worth it for the durability. Definitely recommend.
