AmeriLeather Traditional Leather Backpack

AmeriLeather Traditional Leather BackpackHad the product description been right, I would have given this product a 5 out of 5. However, because the description is wrong (the pictures are correct though) I deducted one star.

As far as service goes service was great, no complaints

Areas where the product description is worng:

1) The backpack straps are NOT detachable. They are the standard strap style that you will find on any backpack. I was disappointed in this, because my backpacks are typically ruined when the straps rip out (AKA I load my backpacks up with heavy books and most standard straps rip their stitching out). I was really looking forward to recieving a backpack that had re-enforced attachments for the straps.

2) There are NO side pockets; however, there are plenty of pockets in the front.

3) This backpack has a total of 5 compartment. Other then the main compartment you have one that is capable of a text book. The remaining 3 are appropiate size for pens and office supplies.

4) The U-zipper on this backpack goes almost all the way to the bottom of the bag. It stops about an inch and a half up from the base. This is a wonderful over the standard backpack design as it allows you easily stack your books in the backpack. My previous backpack I had to stand the books up in. I would say that this U-zipper design by itself makes the backpack worth owning.

The one thing that is expressed in the product description very well is the dimensions. This is a very deep backpack, with a base that is 5" wide. If you are like me and typically carry the majority of your college books in your backpack then you will love this. I just started nursing school and was very pleased to find out that ALL of my books for the semester can be carried inside this backpack.

I would recommend this backpack to a friend, in fact I intend to. As I stated before the only thing I am wary about is having the standard style of backpack straps.

This is a larger backpack and it is absolutely wonderful. I use it every day on my way to work on the scooter. The leather is very soft and doesn't smell. A great product and will buy one for my husband.

Great size, compact, good looking, well made, perfect... this is not the kind of bag you'd use for a camping trip.

This is a hefty backpack and its quite durable, it's just not the most fitting to your back. The main pocket it really large and that males my books fit strange and for some reason it doesn't fit in my back very well. But it is an overall good backpack

These backpacks are an amazing product for the price. I purchased two, for my husband and for me, mainly for airline travel that way these roomy packs can be in lieu of a purse or bag, and with the allowed carry-ons, we can avoid checking luggage. They are handsome and very functional. There is plenty of room for travel essentials, a change of clothes, and I include a small handbag to use once we are at our destination. The backpack costs less than a quality handbag and is way more versatile. I couldn't be happier with this product!

JanSport Firewire Computer Case

JanSport FirewireIt seems lately that I travel with more electronics than clothes. This backpack makes it easy to get through airports and fits under the seat. Love all the pockets especially the small top pocket for my wallet and glasses.

got it to replace my timbuk2 pack and its fantastic. everything fits for a change...though i get a tad paranoid on the subway because of all the zippered compartments.

This is by far the best laptop backpack I have ever seen and used.

It has plenty of compartments and space. I could easily fit 2 more notebooks in 2 different compartments besides the one designed as such (just to give you and idea how much inside space it has).

The side access for your notebook is perfect for me, specially when going through airport security. It can fit small to big-size screen laptops.

It has so many pockets I won't even usen them all regularly, but when traveling they come in handy. I can put inside my laptop, ac adapter, compact camera, camera charger, iPod, earphones with case, smartphone and charger, external hard drives, AA battery charger, bluetooth mouse, passport and wallet, company credentials, keys, pens, USB pendrive, various cables, and still have some space left for books or something. Even though you won't look like you are going hiking. It doesn't look bulky.

Crumpler The Skivvy (Medium) Laptop Messenger Bag

Crumpler The Skivvy Medium Laptop Bag, Brown/Lt BrownI looked for a new shoulder bag for a good 3 months, and this bag was exactly what i wanted. I own a Crumpler camera bag, so I had confidence in the brand, but this bag even surpassed my expectations. I bought the dual tone brown, and it looks awesome. The canvas feels indestructible, and the main compartment has a lot more space than appears in the photos.

The velcro strip is quite large and can make a lot of noise opening the bag, but this also adds to the durability feel. I couldn't be happier.

I got this bag online and was excited to get it. Heard a lot of great things about the company and specifically the camera bags. The bag came in and it was pretty nice. It's very well put together and it's very simple.

NEGATIVES: It's very simple. Perhaps too simple. There is the main area for you laptop for which you can fit almost anything. Then there is another compartment you access with a zipper. Basically it's a pouch. There is nothing in it. Nothing to hold small things in place. The shoulder strap doesn't have any padding either in case you like them

Overall, this is a nice bag with very minimal functions. Get this if you're ok with the simplicity and a little disorganization.

I got this because I hate bulky bags. This has room for my laptop and a few folders of papers as well. It has a nice zipper pouch for the charger and whatever else you want to put in there. The inside of the red/grey bag is a light blue. The velcro is very strong and the handle on top of the bag is also sturdy. My only complaint is that the strap is not padded and on certain jackets sometimes wants to slide off my shoulder. I use the bag to commute by bicycle and it works great for that. The back is lightly padded but not the bottom, but it has been sufficient about protecting my laptop. The construction is very solid. The seams have held up well to months of use. It's also pretty attractive; I've gotten several compliments on it.

Because I really like the Skivvy Small, that I bough a year and a half ago for my sub-notebook, I decided to purchase the Medium now. Well, it looks like they're not as well made today: the trim is not as nice as on the old one no piping, and the padding feels thinner. So I'm not sure, if it provides adequate protection for my laptop. On the positive side it's light, the blue-gray color scheme is nice, and there's plenty of space for a book in addition to my 14" laptop.

PEGASUS from SwissGear by Wenger Computer Backpack

PEGASUS from SwissGear by Wenger Computer BackpackThis bag is almost perfect. It has some rigidity to it so it can stand on its own which is helpful when you put it down. I sometimes have to carry 2 laptops and it does so perfectly (15.4" and 17"). The size is perfect, not like I'm going to trek over into the Amazon but can provide more than ample room for all sorts of activites/travel. The trend is towards too many compartments and sub-compartments/pockets, but once you get used to it, finding things become very easy. The Zippers work well, the padding and straps are excellent, and as a professional, this bag has a very high-tech, quality professional look to it. Weight is not feathery but is reasonable given its semi-rigid structure and excellent protection. The outer top loop has a nice feel and detail to it when you to lift it up by the loop. Its very balanced on my shoulders and reduces fatigue = important since I travel a lot by air and by motorcycle with it.

My single complaint is that it does not have a lower band or strap which allows it to securely wraparound a roll-on luggage's handle useful when airporting around.

I probably need a life, but this bag has improved the quality of it immensely. The other excellent bags are the Synergy (same price) or the Maxuum (slightly cheaper), both by Swissgear but I don't think anyone makes a better functional or aesthetic bag than the Wegner Swissgear folks!

This is a very well constructed bag, but the odd design of the diagonal separation between the larger back and middle compartments, and their equal depth, really limits what you can put into the bag. If you want to carry lots of legal pads, this would be a great bag. I want one large section for all of my books, etc., and a thinner section for the computer. I exchanged this for the Maxxum (also Wenger), which is perfect for me, as well as cheaper! The Maxxum also adds an adjustable kangaroo pouch on the front which is very handy. Ah, I should also note that both of these packs have an across-the chest strap that is placed too high. I still use it because it really helps with weight distribution.

I got this for my sweety and he LOVES it. It fits his Dell Inspiron e1705 perfectly and for those reviews complaining about the zippersthey must have something different. The zippers on this bag are slippy but they lock, if you know what I mean. They won't unzip themselves.

It's got plenty of room for his accessories, work things, books and an extra change of clothes for overnight trips.

I have to admit, I thought about getting one for my e1405, but can't justify the expenditure when the laptop in a neoprene case transports well in my beat-up old Jansport. And he needed a backpack anyway.

We saw an airline employee traveling with the Pegasus from SwissGear and he had nothing but wonderful things to say about it. The only worry was getting one to fit his 17" computer. I bought this backpack with a niggling feeling from the iffy reviews, but let me put your mind at rest. He slipped it in and latched it and voila! Perfect fit. Snug but nowhere near worrisome. Plus, it's got a pocket for your Swiss Army knife. (but remember to take it out before heading to the airport!)

Highly recommendedand the price right now on Amazon is the best I've seen so far, saving up to $30 on other sites.

When I decided to get a high end laptop with a 17" screen, equally important was getting a nice-looking, roomy backpack that would adequately protect it. The challenge about finding a nice 17" backpack, though, is that most of them are very bland and the overall selection is extremely narrow.

I quickly noticed how Wenger's Swiss Army backpacks were nice looking (and they even feature colors other than black or gray), but scouring many website reviews I read a repeated complaint that Dell's 17" laptops "barely" fit in this pack, the zipper "barely" got around the machine, etc., etc. Now that I finally jumped off the cliff to risk this pack without testing it in real life, I want to assure you this lovely backpack has ample room for Dell's monster notebooks. The only thing "snug" about it is that the laptop pocket is tight around your hardware. This means you can't just mindlessly drop your notebook in: you have to line it up with the pocket, but once in place, your machine slides in easily and there are zero problems with the zipper clearing around the edges.

After that, there's space for a three inch thick textbook, if you want, and/or a large zippered leather portfolio folder. I can fit those in, along with a coiled, long USB cable, oversized headphones and a full-sized wired mouse. There's a separate zippered, breathable bag to store your power cord, battery and a travel power adapter if you choose. And I still have more room after that.

The laptop compartment is padded on all sides (including the bottom) and there's thick, firm padding along the shoulder straps and the back. There's a sternum/high chest strap you can clip as well, if you're feeling particularly mountain man-like.

Externally, if you love the Swiss Army white cross on red background logo, you'll love this pack, because the little design is on every single zipper pull, on the shoulder straps, and elsewhere. The blue color that looks so strong in the photos is actually much more subdued in real life and could even be mistaken for gray. The red logos set things off, and the little media player pocket on the top front is completely lined in red material, which adds nice punch to everything.

Another cool touch is the main hand grip at the top of the pack-it's metal coil wrapped in clear plastic, and then wrapped again in a soft rubber grip. Very cool looking.

Best of all? Unlike other backpacks (third and first party) you could bundle with your purchase at Dell's website, this pack doesn't come emblazoned with a screaming "steal me, I'm an expensive computer" Dell logo smack in the middle of it. This pack could easily be seen as a plain ole backpack.

Heartily recommended. Dell 17-inchers (and otherwise): have no fear.

I've had this backpack for a week and took it right away on a trip to Vancouver. It's built strong and it looks strong too! The extra compartments on it made me feel queezy at first but I soon learned to love them, you can compartmentalize all your stuff and keep them accessible. My laptop is well protected and you can keep all your accesories handy like your mouse, cables, printer cables, etc. The shock absorbers at the straps really take the pain off carrying a lot of stuff on the backpack. I definitely recommend it to all those looking for a great product to keep your laptop and your stuff safe and handy!

Timbuk2 Control Laptop TSA-Friendly Messenger Bag, Night Blue/Pacific/Night Blue, Medium

Timbuk2 Control Laptop TSA-Friendly Messenger Bag, Night Blue/Pacific/Night Blue, MediumI purchased this bag. It is a great size and has a great design for storage. It started to tear at a seam within a month of purchase. I contacted the manufacturer through their website to do a warranty return. I needed to send it back at my expense via UPS or Fedex. I did get an answer within a day of their receipt of the item and they informed me that I would receive a credit towards a replacement from their website...no offer of a refund...just pick another bag. I did select the same bag, BUT they made me pay the return shipping also!

So I paid about $20 (2 separate shipping costs) to replace a one-month old defective bag!

Lifetine warranty?...with a cost!

I am disappointed in Timbuk2...Amazon great as usual!

This Timbuk2 bag is everything that I have been looking for. I wanted a briefcase type bag that would fit a few folders and notepads, my laptop (15 inch MacBook Pro), and my iPad for when I need them both at work. And this does the job.

I will say that if you carry a lot of books and want your laptop and iPad then this Timbuk2 case will be very heavy and it won't work well, but if you, like me, are mostly digital then the few folders that I carry and my electronics fit perfectly.

The front pockets are big and can fit snacks or cords/cables, etc.

I have found the perfect bag for me to carry the "essentials" with me to work and not carry around a dorky looking briefcase or generic laptop bag.

Buy Timbuk2 Control Laptop TSA-Friendly Messenger Bag, Night Blue/Pacific/Night Blue, Medium Now

⁃ Shoulder strap is soft (comfy!), but tends to slide off the shoulder when wearing a jacket. Make it grip cloth better. Minus 1 point.

⁃ The messenger-flap buckles are useless at best and a teeth-grinding hassle at worst. If they were reversed so the straps were on the flap gravity would assist their function. If they were eliminated they would be better still. Minus 2 points.

⁃ External compartments are too much of a hassle to use (because of the flap and straps). The 'command' bag is better here because of it's 'Napolean' pockets and water bottle holder (think: wet umbrella). I was tempted to get command but it's flap blocks the main compartment and would drive me bonkers. I have a fragile grip on sanity as it is. Minus another point.

⁃ The bag fits great on my roll-aboard's collapsable handle. (+1) However the slot through which the handles pass has velcro on the bottom (why?) and this means attaching is a two-hand operation. Every time. Over and over. Minus 3 points.

⁃ The laptop storage section is soft and really nice! (plus 10) And unlike other bags (including 'command') the compartment zips from the top, creating extra storage, great! But this leads to two problems: 1) if you utilize this extra space you'll find out at the worst possible time, the TSA's Xray belt, and 2) if you unzip early to prepare for the belt, and are still attached to your roll-aboard, the bag may yawn open and you'll have a "yard sale" right there in the security line. (Minus 5 points, but some of that was my fault too).

⁃ The grey color looks beige / tan under some lighting. Now I look like a slacker, and I've worked hard over the years to get my socks to match. Not what I was expecting. 1.

Still, I'm pretty happy with the purchase. It's light, not too big, not too small, good compartments and pockets, great laptop compartment (fits MacBook pro nicely), and breezes you through security. I'd recommend buying one if my quibbles don't affect your situation.

I have been using this bag for a week now and love it. Very comfortable to wear, stores a good deal of items. Including the capability to store a full sized laptop, netbook and tablet all at once with plenty of room to spare. Easy to shift the bag and weight to where it needs to be to make walking easier. Doubled with a cross strap, this bag will remain secure for more rigorous activity.

The bag is made from very durable materials, so it will last for a long time. It also provides just enough padding in the areas that count. Then the copious amounts of spaces to store things make this bag ideal for anybody carrying electronics around and wants a greatly priced, lightweight, bag solution.

I bought the Control Small last week. I wanted a bag to carry a 13 MacBookAir and iPad (with logitech case). I have a few other bags, but they didn't really work with the smaller laptop and I also was looking for something smaller and lighter -to take advantage of the smaller and lighter MBA.

This bag is great. It carries both devices, chargers, cables and accessories and has lots of room for other stuff. Extremely well thought out design and execution. Very light and convenient features.

Haven't subjected it to heavy road use yet, but I could not be more happy with this bag for around town use and I will put it through its paces on the road soon.

Very highly recommended, particularly if you are looking for something in a smaller size for a MBA and iPad combination bag.

Osprey Sojourn 25 Inch/60L Pack

Osprey Sojourn 25 Inch/60L Pack, CharcoalI've been using my Osprey Sojourn 25 on a round the world trip. I'm 2 months in so far and have given it a pretty good workout through 4 countries and 15 cities. I've dragged it on all sorts of pavements from smooth granite to cobblestones to dirt without any issues. The pack has large wheels that perform really well even when the pavement falters.

Features that I really like:

Large wheels makes rolling on challenging pavement a lot easier

Compression straps secures the top and prevents the zipper from moving (an extra security measure)

Balanced side handle Makes carrying the suitcase easy

Straps I tried the straps once in Istanbul when it was raining and I had to carry my umbrella as well, worked great! although that is the only time I used my straps, I roll it 99% of the time due to the large wheels

Light weight the suitcase weighs 7.5 lbs if I remember correctly, for a framed pack that is very light

Curved frame contoured to fit on your back

Features that could use some improvement:

External pocket There is no external pocket. I wish there was a small external pocket for quick access to things like maps etc.

Overall, this is a fantastic pack and I am totally satisfied. Osprey also guarantees these packs for life so that is comforting. So far I am loving it.

My partner and I each bought this pack to travel for 3 weeks in South East Asia (Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, and Singapore), and hopefully to South America next. We chose the Osprey Sojourn 60 L pack because we both have bad backs and would rather have a versatile back pack that allows u to wheel our stuff around where we have the choice!

The wheels are well designed for rough terrain and did fine where there is pavement, kerbs or dirt tracks. We also used the harness quite a few times while walking on beaches, getting on/off long boats, walking through jungle, and up long interminable staircases in cheap hotels without lifts! They were fine and in no way less comfy than the 70 L travel backpacks i used in the past! Although it may not be the best thing to trek for days on end (although I would still give this a go to find out), it worked just fine for a few hours at a time.

During our trip, we met several fellow travellers who had the same pack, and every time they couldn't help come and tell us how great and useful they are! Other travellers thought the packs looked very cool, and were very jealous that we could wheel them around while they had to carry their stuff. As for carrying capacity, i had just under 20 kg of stuff in the bag at the end of the trip and it was easy enough to pack and fit with ease. In addition, the packs were fine to bring in a luxury 5 star hotel, they didn't look dingy at all.

In terms of the pack's quality and design, the attention to detail and workmanship is outstanding, and with the lifetime warranty i have absolutely no regrets! I've already converted a couple of backpacker friends in buying these because of their versatility, ease and simplicity. I do recommend getting the rain cover as this saved us during heavy rains when mud and rain was everywhere! Also, I was debating whether I should get the Meridian range as it comes with a built-in daypack, but luckily I found it very easy to use my own 25L daypack and balance it in the front. There are D-clips and a courier attachment at the back of the pack that you can use to attach a separate daypack should you wish but i found that offsets my balance too much. Having it at the front is a good way to counter-weigh the pack and makes it easy to get your money, map, etc. out quickly.

All in all, I would highly recommend this pack for those who like to do some adventure travel and expect a combination of rough, off the beaten track trips and staying in well-developed cities and nice hotels. I wouldn't hesitate to use this to visit my parents in Europe for a month or for an adventure trip to Laos!

This pack is clearly the result of Osprey's investment in innovation and its years of experience. If you've had a bag by Osprey in the past, you know their products are top-of-the-line. Even with these high expectations, this bag exceeds any prior expectations. It is light-weight, perfectly sized, and it's ready for any condition.

If you're thinking about going on a "backpacking trip" where you'll be visiting a place with paved surfaces this is your choice. There's no reason to lug a huge pack on your back . . . roll it. Save energy for exploring!

I can't speak to the pack's usefulness in hiking. I imagine you'd be much better off using a pack that's designed for that purpose. But don't get me wrong. This pack is very comfortable as a backpack. Check it out!

Didn't really run it through tough terrain so can't report on it's durability. Wheels and handle feel sturdy and well-made. Removed the backpack harness and hip belt to lighten the overall weight since we weren't going to be hiking with it. Packed to full capacity, I can't imagine carrying it on my back using the provided harness and belt for any extended period of time.

It was a little less of a structured case than I anticipated (I wasn't really looking for a duffel), but it did have reinforced sides and expanded to fit everything we packed plus all of our souvenirs from a 4 country European tour. Bought the Eagle Creek Pack-it World Traveler set which provided the structure that the bag was lacking. I used the interior and exterior straps for compression and nothing moved at all within the bag, even on the way home with lots of boxes and bags inside.

The orange color was great when hunting for luggage on the baggage carousel!

Want Osprey Sojourn 25 Inch/60L Pack Discount?

I bought my first Osprey bag several years ago for backpacking. The lifetime warranty made my decision but the comfort and quality made me buy a flapjack messenger bag. I recently was promoted to a traveling job so I immediately went to Osprey for help. The price had me concerned but I knew I would be happy. Needless to say I was blown away. The quality blows every other brand out of the water. It is ready to take on the worst baggage carrier with the padded sides. It is amazing how much it can hold or compress down to hold a weekend trip securely. It rolls better than any bag I have used and the backpack option is nearly as comfortable as my Atmos 55L backpack. My flapjack clips secure to the bag and getting from baggage claim to the rental desk is a breeze. If you aren't social you may not want this bag because everyone wants to talk to you about it. Another homerun by Osprey!

Everki EKP120 Titan Laptop Backpack

Everki EKP120 Titan Laptop BackpackThe size and quality is all I expected, and more.

Have you ever bought a laptop bag that was labeled "for laptops up to 18 inches", to finally discover that your 17.5" laptop wouldn't fit? I have.

Now I have a 18"+ ASUS G74, and there are very few bags that even pretend to fit this.

I got the Everki Titan backpack today, and my laptop fits perfectly. Not only that, but I can add my smaller 17.5" laptop if I want...

Alternatively, I can also fit the bigger laptop, a tablet and my DSLR + telephoto lens + tripod.

And in either configuration, there is room to spare for power supplies, battery chargers, external hard drives, and a change of clothes if I need to use it as a carry-on bag... Which I can, because it fits well within the allowed dimensions in airplanes bins.

The build quality is also excellent: large zips (so they will not get stuck), sturdy materials, extra strappings to make sure you can carry that extra weight easily. The inside is well designed (I counted some 15 pockets of all sizes, but I may have missed some), and generously padded.

The only quips I have so far are very minor: I would have liked a few larger pockets (most of them are only large enough to put a power supply in -the brick size kind I have for my laptop), and well... aesthetically, it's not bad (mostly because the all-black exterior is discreet), but definitely looks industrial. Then again, I didn't buy this backpack for its looks.

I got the backpack when I was damn close to $200 (that's including the shipping) so I was kind of doubting my self if I ordered this backpack, but before I ever order anything i always to research.

I spend days if not weeks researching the item and if i can find something better for the price, and honestly I highly doubt you'll find another backpack that has the same quality and features as this bag dose.

Im a gamer and will always be, but I also travel quite a bit and i had always wanted a backpack that i could take on the plane/car/bus and have all my gear with me, and this backpack dose not Disappoint.

When i travel i have the flowing with me

18In Laptop

PS3

Controller

PX21 Headset

Mouse (for the PC)

CD Case full of Games

Thats most of the stuff I carry not includeing the small stuff (Pens, ipod, gum, ect)

Owned many laptops and various bags over the last 20 years and this is hands down the best bag I have ever owned. I have an Asus G74S that's a beast to haul around. I run youth events, DJ, and obviously take this bag and Asus wherever I go. I'll start with the pros. Space, # of internal and external compartments, quality, padding, zippers...I love this bag. I keep my mouse, firewire converter, DV Camera, Ipad 2, and all my cables...along with pens, binder, and on the long days, drinks and snacks. On the downside...I would say none. Originally, the primary enclosure for the laptop was tight, but with use, the G74 slides in perfectly. I believe the G74 is one of the largest laptops in the market. Unlike other computers it's size, the computer case is larger than others because of the fan system that blows out the rear versus under the laptop.

Will definitely be looking for more bags from this company.

I purchased this backpack for my ASUS g73 17.3 inch laptop.

The laptop fits snug without any room to move but is still easy to take in and out.

Much to my surprise, I was able to breeze through airport security without having to remove my computer from the backpack.

In addition to the computer's weight,

I carried several other larger and heavier items (with plenty of storage space to spare) I remained remarkably comfortable throughout my travels.

Manufactured and engineered with superb quality.

Pay the few extra $$$, you'll be glad you did.

Overall 5 stars 100% satisfied.

It would be complete if it had a small slot inside for the SD card, since putting the Chromebook in the sleeve with its protruding SD card is asking for damage. My solution was to Velcro an SD plastic carrier to the inside of the sleeve, just below the zipper. Works fine.

An earphone pouch on the side would be nice, but really unnecessary, since you can just put the phones in on top of the Chromebook.

i love this case it fits my samsung chromebook perfectly. its sleek and smooth, and the zipper works, i have no complaints about this product

For the price its a really good product. My chromebook fits securely but not too tight. This isn't going to save your computer from a fall but it will protect it from being in a backpack all day with loads of textbooks.

Tenba ShootoutTM Backpack - Small

Tenba 632-301 Shootout Small BackpackAgain, another awesome purchase we have made from Tenba. We LOVE their backpacks. We have tried Lowerpro and various other manufacturers but seem to always come back to the Tenba bags. They are simply made the best. I have the Tenba Shootout medium for myself. I am 6'2 and it fits me perfectly. I bought the Shootout small for my wife who is petite at 5'2 and it fits her perfectly. She first ordered the mini but it was a little too small and didn't come with the back support belt. That is very important when carrying heavy photo gear while hiking. We have been traveling the western U.S. doing nature photography and have hiked MANY places with our Tenba bags. We have used them hard and they are both still holding up perfectly.

The Tenba 632-302 Shootout Small Backpack is a great pack for my camera equipment. The size is just right. Everything fits snugly without cramping things. There is a lot of padding to protect my camera equipment (Nikon D90 with 2 lenses, flash unit and other equipment). I particularly like the cover that goes over the shoulder straps. Keeps the pack from handing up on the straps when I am carrying it by the top handle, or loading it with luggage. It is perfect, and I am completely satisfied. My sister has the large one. She travels extensively doing photo shoots. When I saw hers I knew I had to get one.

I tried 3 different camera bags to find one that: 1) fit me; 2) would hold all my equipment with a bit of room to grow; 3) wasn't too heavy. I'm 5'5" and the backpack fits me perfectly. I love the back support! It's comfortable enough to wear through an airport and hiking, and fits under the seat of airplane. It easily stores a Nikon D7000, with 3 lenses (18-105, 55-300, and 40mm Lens), 2 batteries with charger, rain cover, and has space to spare.

A very nice bag, exactly what I was looking for to carry my camera equipment. This was the perfect size for a single camera setup, 2 camera bodies will fit, but it can get tight in a hurry, especially if an external flash and a med.telephoto lens, and other odds and ends are added to the mix. I'm very happy with this purchase.

I love the build of this bag, unfortunately it was too big for me. When I loaded all my equipment, it was just too heavy. It is very well constructed but not enough extra storage for me either. Love the tripod holder, it is the reason I wanted this bag in the first place.

Equipment I put in, Nikon D90, Nikon 70-200 2.8, 17-55 2.8 and 50 1.8, 2 Nikon SB800 Speedlights, various filters, note pad, Demb flash accessory, 17" MacBook Pro, and a few other items, and Manfrotto 190XProB with Manfrotto 324RC

This bag was heavy!!! Opted for an Ape rolling bag and a smaller backpack to carry just what I need for hiking.

Gregory Women's Freia 14 Backpack

Gregory Women's Freia 14 Backpack, Seal Gray, One SizeI am 5'1" and was looking for a small pack for day hikes. This pack distributes the weight well and is big enough to carry lunch for two along with two water bottles. Used it on a few 8 mile hikes. As a petite person, I felt the shoulder straps fit well and that the length of the back was comfortable.

Granite Gear Nimbus Meridian Lapis Moonmist 3800 (Regular)

Granite Gear Nimbus Meridian Backpack, Blue/Grey, Short TorsoMy husband used a Nimbus Meridian backpack like this when he did a 2-month section hike of the Appalachian Trail. He loves it. It is lightweight and large capacity. He started in March and finished in May. He encountered extremely cold weather and this pack held all the equipment he needed for that and normal hiking conditions also. I purchased this to replace my current backpack which is good and holds a lot of hiking necessities but is too heavy.

Herschel Supply Crest Backpack

Herschel Supply Crest Backpack Black Rip Stop, One SizeMy Herschel Rip Stop backpack shredded in a few months of use. When I sent it back, the company admitted that they discontinued the Rip Stop line because it was 'defective.' Do NOT buy this product and be wary of Herschel products in general. Return policy was not great, charging $15 to ship a wallet and computer sleeve to NYC (the only things of reasonable cost on their site).

My son told me the other day that he loves the backpack and that it is holding up well for him.

Skip Hop Zoo Pack Little Kid Backpack, Mouse

Skip Hop Zoo Pack Little Kid Backpack, MouseThe size is just right for my two year old. Don't fill it too full or they may topple over! It fits a lot. We took it on a road trip and filled it up with DVDs and CDs and books. It worked perfectly and was cute to boot!

This backpack was perfect for my 2 yr old. It is just the right size and she loved the little mouse.

I was searching for a BPA-free, Phthalate-free, PVC-free backpack for my daughter for kindergarten, and was thrilled to find these backpacks!

My five-year-old daughter saw the pink mouse Skip Hop in my Amazon search results, and immediately fell in love with it. I saw the dimensions, and thought it would be best to go with something this size, since she's a small child (36 lbs).

While I do not regret buying this backpack (she LOVES it), I suspect her teacher isn't wild about it shape. ;) Like other reviewers, we have a plastic folder that comes home every day in the backpack, but the only way for it to fit is to fold it (which we don't do. It has artwork inside) or bend the corners (doesn't affect the artwork too badly most days).

If Skip Hop would make these backpacks with more squared-off edges on top, the folders would fit fine! But because the packs are rounded and narrower at the top, there is some necessary bending involved. It's also tough to get the folder in if there's anything else already in there (mini umbrella, raincoat, sweater, whatever). You have to remove everything in the large part, put the folder in, fold the top edges, then add any other stuff in front of the folder. Not easy for my five-year-old to do. Probably not fun for her teacher, either.

But what I love about it (aside from how cute it is): That front pocket! It is a lot roomier than the picture would appear. Right now she's got a full plastic travel wipe container, pack of tissues, and a mini umbrella (no raincoat though, but it would fit rolled up, by itself. Maybe with a mini umbrella, if the jacket were thin).

A minor annoyance: the side mesh pocket for water bottles. It is so shallow that a decent-sized travel bottle will not stay in. We use Contigo Autoseal Kids Cups. They are too tall to fit in this side pocket. The elastic cord does not have a clip on it to tighten (you're supposed to tie it but ours doesn't stay tied well). I had to go buy a clip for it.

You might find it holds a shorter cup, or something else entirely, but ours remains unused. (The water bottle goes in her lunch bag.)

Bottom line: I agree with other reviewers who recommend this for a toddler/preschooler, but not a kindergartener. Or, for a kindergartener to use as an overnight bag.

EDIT: I ended up ordering a junior backpack from a certain well-known retailer in Maine, and am very glad I did. It's far roomier and no more squished folders. My kindergartener was sad to relegate the Mouse backpack to non-school use, but it still works great for holding her things for a short trip.

This is perfect for my 2yr old daughter! It has been really hard to find a backpack that is her size, and this one is just right. We bought this for her to take on a trip to Mexico and is a perfect carry-on for her. It has a nice big pocket for her snacks, a change of clothes etc.. and the front little pocket holds a lot of games and books. The cheese on the zipper is really cute and makes her giggle as she "feeds" it to the mouse. Would definitely recommend this!!

I got this as a 2nd birthday gift for my petite daughter. It's perfect. She loads this up with all of her little dolls and critters and it's not to heavy or cumbersome for her to carry around. She feels just like a big girl toting this backpack. The strap design is contoured so it's easy for her to get on, but not so big that I fear she will get it around her neck. What a great design! So far after 2 months of use, even though it's pink it's wearing well without signs of dirt. I wish they also made larger sizes.

Disney's Tangled Mini Backpack - Rapunzel School Bag

Disney's Tangled Mini Backpack - Rapunzel School BagWe bought this backpack for my daughter because she's over-the-moon about the Disney "Tangled" movie. To be clear, this is for toddlers and is not a full-sized backpack. It's large enough to fit some coloring books and crayons, a brown bag lunch and maybe a small stuffed animal. It has a second front pocket as well. It's very attractive with lots of sparkly parts, rich color and nice pictures all over. The zipper has been a little tricky at times but I simply sprayed my finger with cooking spray and ran it over the zipper, pulled the zipper pull across the greased zipper a few times and it wasn't sticking anymore. This would make a wonderful gift -really nice looking -and it fits our small shouldered 3 year-old well. Don't expect a heavy duty item here or something that could be used for a school backpack day in and day out -it's just for fun & to take out to the park or on car trips etc. I would certainly recommend this item.

It fit all her stuffed toys so that she could take them from Daddy's to Mommy's and back. Very pleased!

I bought these backpacks for my two little girls (2 and 4 years old) They play all they long with them putting her little toys inside. I found these backpacks made in a very good quality and really nice. They are very small tough, just to carry little stuff or a copy book to go to school. They are just for little girls.

Bought this bag for my god-daughter's first day of kindergarten. It's a little large for a 5yr old, but nothing she can't grow into. Quicksilver quality, plenty of storage, with 1 main zipper compartment and an additional smaller (utensil) pocket. The best part is it comes with a detachable lunch box with sandwich Tupperware holder and a Roxy branded water bottle. Good deal for the +$40 spent

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Drawstring Bag

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Drawstring BagI got this bag for my daughter, who wanted it as a backpack for preschool. It's nice and roomy, yet lightweight. Because it's designed for an adult, we've had to tie some knots in the drawstrings so it doesn't hang down past her bottom when she wears it. So far it's easily held a plush blanket, a change of clothes, and a notebook. I don't know how well it will hold up for the school year, but these sorts of bags are usually surprisingly durable. Get it on Amazon rather than NBC and save a buck on shipping! :D
