DAKINE Quest Pack

Dakine QUEST PACK, Black, One SizeJust got back from a month-long trip across the Atlantic with this pack -3 countries, 2 continents, 6 flights, and too many subway, bus, taxi, and ferry/boat rides to count. Overall, love it -best all-in pack that I've found.

During travels I carried:

15.6" laptop + charger (a large brick)

Canon 5D Mark II

5 lenses (35mm (mounted), 70-200mm, 50mm, 15mm, 16-35mm

Kindle

Tons of accessories (lens hoods, extra HDD, extra batteries, cables, international power plug adapters, magazines, etc.

Full-size tripod

Water bottle

Rain coat

Pack weighed 26 lbs (12 kg) total (without water). Once I got to my destinations, I obviously only explored with camera gear and left other stuff at the hotels.

Pros:

Fits a ton of gear -many smaller pockets to securely store money, passports, boarding passes, etc.

Quite comfortable to carry so much gear for long periods of time. I walked around 10 hours a day on average everyday with almost no discomfort or pain.

Side-access to camera compartment means I can swing it around to change lenses when I'm out shooting -this was critical for me.

Pack stands up straight when left on the floor (unlike my Lowerpro Vertex pack which tends to topple over).

Was rainproof enough for light drizzle without the rain cover.

Cons:

The stiff padded part of the waist strap curves OUT for some reason. So instead of curving around the waist, it sticks out on either side (and because it's stiff, cannot reshape it). This is quite a hassle when walking in narrow areas, e.g. airplane aisles, crowded subways, and really any place with a lot of people, because the sides keep getting caught. Towards the end of the trip I ended up taking the waist strap section off completely.

The camera compartment is a bit tight. So getting lenses in and out can be a struggle at times (especially towards the bottom of the pack).

The shoulder straps only adjust from the bottom -so it's hard to get the pack to stay snug against the shoulder. Wish the straps adjusted at the shoulder/neck, so I could cinch it up top and not have the pack sag. Using the chest strap helps alleviate this problem somewhat.

The waist straps are really long and there are no loops to "store" them -so they just dangle and flap around a l-o-n-g way.

The included rain cover takes up the space intended for a water bottle -so when using water bottle, I had to find another place for the cover (essentially wasting one storage area). A Lowepro-like solution would have been better, where the rain cover is attached to the pack and folds away underneath the pack.

The rain cover was loose when the pack wasn't bulging full and fell off a few times. Ended up not using it for light rain (but pack did fine).

Tripod is carried on the side, making the pack a bit lopsided. Carrying on the back would have been better for weight distribution.

A few more loops overall (to attach carabiners and carry other stuff) would have been nice.

I know the cons looks like a lot, but they're mostly nits/hassles, no major functional problems. Love the pack in general. Does exactly what I needed it to do. I'd tried the Tamrac Evolution 9 before, but it was very uncomfortable to wear for even 30 minutes (the straps are horrible), so I returned it (even though the camera compartment was roomier). This Dakine pack is going to serve me quite well for a long time.

Ordered this backpack to travel with my 15" MBP and camera equipment. Great bag that has padded compartments that are customize-able. Was able to fit my Canon Mark III, 70-200mm, 50mm, and 85mm lenses with room to spare. NIce to have a separate compartment for personal items. Laptop compartment has a lined sleeve to protect the laptop but with a 15" MBP, a part of it sticks out past the sleeve, leaving it exposed. Wished it would cover the whole laptop. Waist strap helps distribute weight but the bag fully loaded is quite heavy for me. Still really like the bag and would recommend it.

14 inch Blue Dragon Exterminator Notebook Laptop Sleeve Bag Carrying Case for most of MacBook, Acer

14 inch Blue Dragon Exterminator Notebook Laptop Sleeve Bag Carrying Case for most of MacBook, Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Sony, ToshibaThe cover arrived and looked exactly like the picture (on both sides) and it fits very well.

My only complaint is that on one side there is a small (1/4 divot) prick in the neoprene which damaged the picture.

It's very beautiful product. I liked so much. The size is perfect to my macbook. but the color is not too strongh like in the pic.

I bought this for a little extra protection for a 14 inch Acer Aspire that I recieved as a gift for Christmas, to add a little scratch protection while transporting using a backpack. The neoprene is thin, but since I am not using this as a sole protection/transport device I am not concerned about it. I was worried the fit would be so snug that I would be annoyed trying to get the laptop in and out, but it easily slides in and out without a hassle. No obvious odor to the neoprene. The dragon is detailed, colorful, and on both sides but slightly less vibrant than the picture.

I bought this for my drawing tablet rather then spend $30 for a case I figured a netbook case would work just as well. And it fits great! I now don't have to worry about it getting all scratched up or anything. I don't really mind that it doesn't have pocket or anything because I can just put the replacement nibs in the bag with it. I couldn't find a decent case for my Bamboo Create that wasn't really more than what I wanted to pay for a case, and this was a great alternative.

I really like the design, it's clean colorful and distinguishable. I would have preferred it a different color maybe but I like it for what it is.

The smell is pretty strong when you take it out of the package, it smells...I'm not really sure, like burning shoe soles or something. It dissipated after a day or so and you can only really smell it if you actively try to sniff it. So it's really not all that bad.

I gave it four stars, one because of the smell that is still there even if not as strong and two because tiny pockets on the inside could have made this case a little bit better in general. But for the price it's a decent case and it's doing what I bought it for, to protect my tablet from damage. I would recommend this case, especially if you like dragons. :)

Save your money and buy something else. This bag is to thin and flimsy. A used plastic grocery bag would provide about the same amount of protection.

Timbuk2 OCD Folder - M

Timbuk2 OCD Packing Folder, Gunmetal/Blue, Mediumi wish that had starch built in and then your shirts could come out , almost as if they were from the cleaners.

Very good and do not let your shirts get ruined!

This great for T's and Polo's four or five would be a squeeze. However, I used it on a recent business trip and it's too small for dress shirts/ pants. I'll be ordering the large size for business trips.

Marware Sportfolio 13" MacBook Case Blue

Marware Sportfolio 13' MacBook Case BlueI wanted a carrier for my Mac that was versatile, not bulky and inexpensive. I have all of this and more with this carrier. The zipper portion is covered so that it won't scratch the laptop. The neoprene material keeps it protected, without the bulk. It has an outside zippered side pocket that holds my adapters, mouse and airline adapter. It is roomy enough for everything, yet fits in my business case nicely. It even has handles and a shoulder strap for when I want to carry it seperately from my business case. I would highly recommend this item!

This is a great case for your MacBook. It is lightweight but very strong and has nicely padded sides that provide plenty of protection. It has handles and a shoulder strap. The color is great-bright and different from all the black cases out there.

The only problem I have with it is the strong odor. It smells horrible! Very strong vinyl smell that took months to disipate. I actually left it outside for about 8 weeks before I could bring it in the house.

If you are sensitive to odorsdon't buy this case.

I feel like my mac is safe inside, but anything placed in with it or in the pockets stands out and seems vulnerable.

I bought this case for my new 13" Macbook. It's neoprene construction and soft interior are gentle for the exterior make of my laptop. It you are looking for a sleeve, or "lug around" to take your macbook to work or school I highly recommend this case. The strap is very comfortable and feel the extra cushioning on the shoulder make it a little easier to carry around. Of course this case isn't for those who do a lot of intensive traveling. It's more for people who just want light protection for the general places they go. I also really enjoyed the color as it is very vibrant and doesn't look like every other case out there. It's very modern looking too. As for the smell...it is a little strong at first. But, it wears off after a few uses. It doesn't smell at all that bad--just like a new product that needs to be broken in. I love this case.

Disney Pixar Wall-e Backpack Style Metal Tin Lunch Box

Disney Pixar Wall-e Backpack Style Metal Tin Lunch BoxThe is a darling little snack box. It does not fit a whole lot--basically a sandwich, juice box and a couple slices of apple are about all you can get in there. My daughter and son both love theirs, however we'll need a bigger lunch box for school next year.

  • Disney Cars Rolling backpack 17H x 12W x 6D
  • Durable Canvas material

I purchased a Disney item for $43.28 my son for Christmas, and it arrived in mid January, with a horrid smell that quickly filled my home. I re-boxed it immediately and notified this company that I wanted to return it (per their return policy). Weeks later they responded to my many calls to authorize the return but requested that I send it back Fed Ex because they needed a tracking # and this expense would be refunded as well. This brought my purchase to a whopping $60.71. I purchased this for my 4 year old son for a Christmas gift and was only willing to pay for the already over priced item because he'd been asking for it for so long and they were sold out at my local stores. Today (Feb 6th), I emailed to inquire about my refund and received back an email that said I would only be refunded $36.29, of the $60.71, with no explanation as to why. I immediately notified Amazon and was told that OrangeOnions was charging me a restocking fee of $24.42....WHAT? For a bag that arrived with a horrid stench, I should be charged $24.42 for YOUR restocking fee? Listen, I do not have $60.71 to pay for a smelly bag that I no longer have nor want. Especially when it is only $14.00 at Target! I am insulted and feel taken advantage of OrangeOnions.

All in all, Amazon did offer me an Amazon credit, however I would beware when ordering ANYTHING from this person, company,OrangeOnions. They will cheat you. Also, their other reviews stink!

My son received this as a birthday gift 6 months ago, and unfortunately, it was ripped after the first use! (The fabric tore away from the seam, revealing the inner padding. He travels with me all of the time and wanted his own suitcase like I have, but this product cannot hold up to travel, much less the use of a toddler. We are extremely disappointed, since that was a wasted $35 at the Disney store (that my parents spent on the gift). I would have taken it back to ask for a new one, but we have already been in 3 times to replace his broken buzz lightyears (which all broke within the first week). We finally stopped going in for new Buzz Lightyears (even though the final one did in fact break a week later). Unfortunately, it seems that Disney toys are not made like they used to be. They're cheaper now, but lacking in quality. :-(

Long Range Bugout Bag

Long Range Bugout BagI have used this bag now for about four months. It is useful but it was not the size I thought it would be when I recieved it. Although it is a lot smaller than the bugout bag I had before it is holding its own for the most part. I can not put as much in it as I would like but it is definitely holding together. The only reason why i gave it a three was because obne of the pull strings for the zipper broke off. It took almost three years for that to start happening on my larger bugout bag, and I took the larger one with me almost every where I went. I would still however recommend this particular bag to anyone who wanted to purchase it.

Saddleback Leather Briefcase, Classic Dark Coffee Brown

Saddleback Leather Classic Briefcase Large, Dark Coffee BrownI'm not a person who gets attached to material possessions; they are built to serve a purpose, not become an item to identify me as a person. However, I do have 'comfort' items that I feel are necessary for certain tasks and I won't feel comfortable unless I have them (i.e. pen and pocketbook when going to work. A water bottle and first aid kit when hiking. etc).

When I travel this bag has to be with me. *EDIT* The XL complies with the carry-on baggage measurements *EDIT* It holds everything I need and keeps everything safe and undamaged. People say there is a large heft to the bag. I like that. If I wanted something that's light weight I would keep buying the same junk that will be ruined in 3-5 years. The heft of these bags means quality materials and work has been put into them so that they last for centuries (I can only vouch for a year so far).

I have this bag in an extra large. I'm 6'4", 200 lbs and this fits me perfectly. It's not too large or too small. I can easily pack two pairs of pants, a pair of shorts, three t-shirts, two dress shirts, some underclothes, my toiletry items, a book or two, my notebooks and some pens without having to cram things in. If you have all three straps buckled you are going to find it's a pain to get into, do as the picture shows and tuck the left and right straps back up and through the loops and only buckle the middle one if you know you are going to be pulling stuff out of it all the time.

The price is high, but you really do get more with this item than you will with any other bag in this price range. The main website even has their competitors linked on their site so you can do a comparison against their items.

+Quality material and work

+'Waterproof' to a point

+Plenty of room

+Durable

-Price

-Pain to get into with all three straps buckled

3/27/2011: The leather is really starting to get soft, like a pair of boots do after wearing them a while.

Also due to all the airlines charging for checked luggage I have problems now finding space for this XL guy. I've had to check it at the gate a few times, but I just quickly take off, and pack, the shoulder strap followed by strapping down all three closure straps. There's a bit of fear that someone might go through it (especially traveling to some international locations), so do be careful of that.

I flip bags. I buy one, use it, enjoy it, get bored with it, then sell it on eBay. I kept looking at the Saddleback medium briefcase, but I kept looking at the weight, 6 pounds, and could not bring myself to buy one. After all, I go to so much trouble and expense to find lighter and lighter laptops, so why add 3 or 4 pounds to the empty bag?

But then I realized, when I fly, and hike with a Macbook and several other electronics through a huge airport, I can take another, lighter bag. But when I'm in town and not walking far, I can enjoy the amazing Saddleback. So being a cheapskate, I bought a pre-owned one on eBay, thinking, if I regret it I can sell it on and not lose much at all. I usually shun anything preowned, but these do have a 100 year guarantee, and a new one is only new until you use it, so I did it, and it seems to be good as new, except with enough scratches and patina to allow me to use it with abandon and not worry about the first mark appearing.

Anyway, I am not disappointed. I love my briefcase and it gets looks and comments everywhere. To be specific. it's the medium size in dark coffee brown. You cannot find one in a showroom or a store, so unless you run into someone like me, you can only judge it from images or videos online. But let me tell you, if you like bags, if you like good leather, and you want a distinctive piece of craftsmanship, treat yourself to a Saddleback briefcase a.s.a.p. You won't regret it. Like me you'll sit and look at it for hours, and take it everywhere you go.

This is a tremendous briefcase. The leather is quite heavy duty. My medium briefcase is in dark coffee brown, and while the leather scratches quite easily, it really does look better with some wear. The small pamphlet of religious materials included didn't do anything for me, but I can respect someone standing by their beliefs, even if they are not mine.

The briefcase is somewhat heavy, but I have not found it to be overly cumbersome. The medium fits my MacBook 13" perfectly, and fits the 15" just fine, though it does stretch the back compartment a bit.

Highly recommended. I look forward adding more pieces to my collection over time. This briefcase has gotten many comments over just a few weeks of ownership.

What! Only 2 stars? Let me explain. I don't actually disagree with what is being said, and I would have written a similar review after having the bag a short time. But after 2 years, I ended up selling it. The good news? If you ever decide to sell it, you will get 80-90% return on your initial investment.

This bag is simply too heavy to use as a daily bag. I walk a fair amount as a professor, both on campus and at conferences, and the weight was simply too much. I'm no wimp, but try walking around a good portion of the day with this thing around your shoulder. Also, the weight of the bag nullifies all the light, thin, laptops, phones and gadgets of modern times. The bag looks great, smells great, feels great..... and makes a great display piece. But it simply makes no sense to carry around your stuff in a such a heavy bag. I tried to convince myself it did, but after a couple of years I wised up.

I do love good bags, though. And I like to support small companies making great things. I ended up with a Mission Workshop bag. They make all their stuff in America (unlike Saddleback), have a lifetime warranty, and their stuff is cool (a different type of cool than Saddleback, but cool nonetheless). Wonderful customer service, too. Oh, and it is only a fraction of the weight of a Saddleback while carrying way more stuff.

My advice? If you simply love the look and character of a Saddleback bag and you don't plan to commute reasonable distances with it, you might be happy in the long run. Otherwise, find something that is a bit more practical for day-to-day use. Notice that most of these reviews are by people who just received their bag, and like when you're in new relationship with someone that doesn't really make any sense to be with, but, hey, she's pretty hot you overlook some major issues. I spend two years with one as my daily bag, and the initial appeal had long worn off. A bag is meant to carry stuff around, not be a chore to carry around itself.

This is a nice bag. It's tough. You can throw it in front of a speeding train and it will survive (the contents of the bag probably won't though).

If you live in a humid environment, you need to use it everyday or store it in a room with a good dehumidifier. Otherwise, this bag will get moldy really fast.

This bag is heavy. It's not for people who complain about carrying things. If you're the type of person who will complain about heavy bags, don't buy this bag. Get a bag with wheels.

One more thing, I don't recommend using the backpack mode too often as it can lead to scoliosis due to the odd weight distribution. I used to use this bag in backpack mode all the time. Then my doctor found that my spine was slightly curved. Ever since I stopped using this bag, my spine has recovered.

BTW, this bag has a 100-year warranty. And the customer service people of the company are really nice.

High Sierra 2502-Cubic Inches Caldwell Daypack

High Sierra 2502-Cubic Inches Caldwell DaypackI normally don't spring for anything more expensive than the very cheapest thing I can find. (I'm a "broke" college student.) But I had a similar backpack from High Sierra that lasted me 4 years, and I wanted to find that same kind of quality and durability in my new backpack. This backpack was really cute and quite similar to my previous one, so I ordered it. And I am VERY pleased. It is a large bag, has a cushioned laptop compartment, and many pockets so you can organize if you'd like. I've been using it the last couple weeks, and it's been so durable and comfortable. It sits great on me and makes even my heavier loads of books feel more comfy.

The only negative for me is the little handle on the top being a part of the straps. It's really handy for picking up the bag, but for wearing it, the handle digs into the back of my neck just a bit and kinda makes me hunch a little if I'm not thinking about it.

But overall, I would say this is an excellent purchase and an excellent backpack for a college student or any student. I am almost certain to buy another High Sierra backpack when I need another. They've won me over.

This backpack was a present, sent directly to the recipient. She loves it! It is of good quality, very nice color, the straps are nicely padded, plus tons of pockets to fit all her college stuff. Overall, a great purchase.

Purchased for my son, as we are nearing the end of school season, and wanted to find something durable, stylish, yet manly enough for my son, and will last into the next school season. He is taking great care of this one and mentioned that it is very cool and likes it a lot (he is 14 and in middle school). He gave me a thumbs up, and I am giving this back pack a thumbs up! He has to carry a lot of books, folders, as well as a cold lunch, and gym clothes. It fits all of it! This is a great item if you are purchasing it for your child for school. I highly recommend this back pack. It is also nicely priced.

Victorinox Luggage Architecture 3.0 Big Ben With Security Fast Pass Backpack

Victorinox Luggage Architecture 3.0 Big Ben With Security Fast Pass Backpack, Black, One SizePros:

More than sufficient storage (pockets & so forth), fits securely over luggage handles for easy airport maneuvering, security fast pass does as advertised, bag tracking system (aka SwissTracker for lost luggage, not tested, included in sale price) is a great idea.

Cons:

No major issues.

Other Thoughts:

-Main compartment seems poorly equipped to store a change of clothing (which I always carry in my carry-on).

-Do not expect a bunch of peripherals (extra storage for non-business items, pockets with no specific function, gimmicks, etc.) this is a lean, mean, professional traveler machine.

-Security FastPass works best in high volume airports (where the security staff knows what it is): you will still have to remove your electronic devices if the security staff fails to recognize the innovation.

Backpacks are a funky design piece. Too big and you're breaking your back. Cut them too thin and you've got a man purse. I had a Big Ben Monopole and it didn't work out well for me. While I liked the rollers, it was too hard to steer.

This bag is one of the first I've come across specifically for the mobile laptop carrying professional. It is easy to load up with too much of your crap, but overall is quite elegant.

The best feature: TSA compartment that isn't bulky and LOCKABLE. I've seen laptops stolen while in line at the airport, just sitting in a bin while the unfortunate owners are getting felt up by TSA Security. I've personally had 2 laptops stolen and when locked you definitely want zippers like these which can't be broken into. Victorinox has excellent theft proof zippers.

The Big Ben has a lot of compartments sealed by zippers. To be honest, it is more storage than any of the other bags out there. I'd compare it in space to the Executive 15. The problem: I'm anal retentive, fidgeting in the airport and opening and closing compartments all the time right before boarding. I feel like I have zipper OCD, like the bag belongs at NASA and is like a series of mission critical airlocks. So for me, the magnetic pouch in the front is perfect for the thing I use most: my pen!

The storage is pretty nice, although I'll be honest, I've had my stuff spill out of it while at home and in the hotel. So despite all those NASA-grade zippers, you still end up with your bag's contents all over the floor. Not cool. One major reason I dislike the bag is that the pockets are based on the Architecture Series, instead of the Professional Werks collection. I wish Victorinox would send me an updated bag, for all of the bags I've purchased through them in the past few years!

I find there's enough for my Lenovo W530, which is just over 6lb. It has a fairly large 170W power supply, which does seem to fit OK. I can definitely fit my iPad, Kindle, a few magazines, a rain jacket in here, as well as a small notebook.

One of the main reasons I like the Professional Werks is that it has excellent built-in storage. Not so here, so I use a cable bag from Waterfield Designs. The plus of the Werks collection is that they're standardized no matter which bag you use, you'll always have your pockets in exactly the same spot! With a cable bag, I don't have to memorize where I put things, or more importantly have to relearn how to pack.

As for the laptop protection, I wish Victorinox would start padding the TSA pouch with a bit of foam and neoprene. Seriously, it would be great to think of it as a sleeve. To be honest, I've seen my laptop corners dinged up and cracked on all of their bags. And yes, I am known for beating the crap out my stuff. I guess that's why I bought a bag that is damn expensive in first place (i.e. not a throw away).

As for carrying the bag around the office, I find some narrow hallways and elevators I end up walking into people. I'm a bit of a clutz and with 15lb on my back I'm like a bull in a china shop. I'd say the bag has slightly TOO MUCH storage where you can easily overload it if you want to.

The straps are pretty comfortable. And the bag fits well on my shoulders. I pulled one of them a few years ago and it is important if I'm carrying a heavy bag that my shoulder injury isn't aggravated. I like there's padding on the back, which also can slide over my wheeled roller (an Avolve 22).

One thing I liked from my climbing backpack is that between the shoulder straps there's another strap to bridge the weight between the two. I found this feature lacking and would have been nice when fully loaded and walking around new cities, as I occasionally do when mixing business with pleasure.

Perhaps the thing I like most is the mesh pouch. That's where I hide my drugs, I mean my plastic bag with the TSA 3-1-1. I need something that is easy to access in 3 seconds and this works well.

Probably a bit frustrating is that I haven't found a dedicated pouch just for my iPhone, charger, wallet, phone, headphones (Shure) and keys. That's what I use all the time and like I referred to before, it is a pain to open all those NASA-grade zippers to get your crap right before boarding a plane.

Overall, I highly recommend the bag. For a revision, make a bag with easier pockets management, better laptop padding and slightly smaller so I'm not tempted to overload. Definitely take into account the design of the Professional Werks collection, I like that series a lot better.

Given the thought into writing the review, and the fact I own several Victorinox, it would be awesome to acknowledge their customers with access to new products or some kind of loyalty program. I think their Swiss Tracking is a neat feature that I like a lot!

Fireman Sam 'the Hero Next Door' School Bag Rucksack Backpack

Fireman Sam 'the Hero Next Door' School Bag Rucksack Backpack - 30 x 23 x 14 cm 11.8 x 9.1 x 5.5 InchOnce again I am very pleased with my purchase from Amazon. The Fireman Sam Backpack as made my grandson very happy, and he will have many days, weeks, months, and years to enjoy it .

A school folder wont actually fit inside this. If your child only needs to bring a snack and maybe something else small to school with them it would be fine, but its really too small for any real school use.

Construction is average. Since my son couldnt use it for school he uses it to play sometimes and its showing signs of wear and tear pretty readily.

The best use for this would be for play and maybe pre-school where your child is only bringing snack and tissues to school or something.

Zebra Hot Pink Garment Bag

Zebra Hot Pink Garment BagThis clothes bag is better for teens or overnighters as I wouldn't recommend it for hard core travelers or long trips, as I travel a great deal and I am going to bust this bag. There are slots for shoes, but only one end will hold a pair larger than a size 8, and you can only get 3 pair of shoes in the bag at best. Forget boots! The bag is obviously feminine, and we tend to pack extra clothes `just in case' and this bag does not allow for `just in case'. This bag doesn't hold but maybe 3 days worth of clothes even if you are using Joy Mangano Hangers. There is a large enough pocket on the side to have a name embroidered on the side however, so I think I'll have my teenage daughter's name put on the bag........

This is a totally cute garment bag! It was a gift for my daughter; she is a twirler and loves it! Very stylish too.

STM Bags Jacket Extra Small for 11" MacBook Air

STM dp-2140-2 Jacket Extra Small Sleeve, Fits Most 11-Inch Screens, Chocolate/OrangeWasn't sure but bought this so we could carry our IPAD, instead of a travel book. It fit perfectly and still had pockets for phone and cables. A man bag that doesn't look feminine with it's across the shoulder strap. Love it!

I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 partly because of the zip pocket for the charging cord: It's too small for the entire cord (but that's partly Apple's fault for making such a cumbersome cord to carry around). I took off the bulkier portion of the cord and while the rest fit in the pocket it didn't fit well. Also, while there is a little pocket for your phone I'd never leave it in there because it doesn't zip. I'm not taking any chances on my phone falling out.

Other than those 2 things the bag fits the macbook perfectly and gives it a lot of support. The strap is comfortable and the bag looks well made.

This is a fantastic bag for the Macbook Air 11". Very compact and trim (and well built in that respect), but with enough extra capacity in the outside pockets to carry a bit extra and/or the power adapter. In other words, you can fit just enough in with this bag alone to go work at a coffee shop or library. Carrying strap is very high quality with fully rotating attachments (so the strap doesn't get twisted) and very clever spring-loaded clips. The strap hardware remains with the strap, so, if you are like me and don't use the carrying strap, the bag itself is not bogged down with annoying hardware and clips and so forth. Given how many crazy expensive bags and sleeves are out there (like, in the $50-100 range), this STM bag is a crazy deal in the $30 range!

The only negative I can think of here: my bag has a bit of a chemical odor that hasn't gone away as quickly as I'd like. But that might just my particular one.

Love the look, feel, and utility of this sleeve (fits the MBA11 perfectly), but the accessory pocket for stashing the AC adapter is far too thin. Recommendations: Do not wrap the cable around the hooks on your Apple charger, instead, loosely coil the cord and this will give you an extra mm of space when in the sleeve with the MBA. But even as such, the manufacturer/designer should build an extra 1/2" of lateral give in the outside pocket for space. If that were the case, this would be a 5-star product. I would recommend this sleeve, just with the caveat that everything will be a very tight fit.

I really dig this sleeve. It's a little more that I wanted to pay. But, I'm glad I spent the money. My Macbook air 11 inch fits nice and snug. Very nicely padded. Shipping was timely. I will buy again

Kelty Redtail 30 Daypack

Kelty Redtail 30 DaypackI just received the pack and was suprised to see that the zipper pulls (on the charcoal version) are red, something not shown in the picture. The zipper pulls are the cord type and each of them has a red aluminum sleeve (1 inch long) on its cord. I don't mind, but others might. They definitely stand out against the dark fabric.

Otherwise, the pack seems smart and well-built but I just got it so time will tell.

Made in Vietnam.

I'm taking off one star for the sum of a few minor complaints:

1) The main zipper is a smallish #8 size instead of the sturdy #10 size found on my Redtail pack from 5 years ago (and on many competitors' packs in the same price range).

2) The sternum strap attaches to the shoulder straps in a way that makes me think it will eventually pop off under load. It's hard to explain, except that it's very different from the attachment design more commonly found on other packs.

3) The hydration tube port between the shoulder straps is off-center as if Kelty assumed all hydration users run their tube to their right side. Some of us prefer it on the left, away from our primary hand. They should have kept it centered like on older models.

4) The water bottle pockets on the side are cut low. Nalgene's 32oz bottle is the de facto standard and I think all packs' side pockets should be designed around that. This pocket could be higher to hold a bottle of that height more securely. With this short cut, the bottle is more prone to falling out when the pack isn't exactly vertical.

Excellent quality of construction is immediately apparent on this pack. It's tough, lightweight, very comfortable. Bought it to be used as an everyday city pack as well as a hiking and/or short-term camping pack. I'm very happy with the choice. This is my first Kelty pack, and I will likely buy others in the future. It also doesn't hurt that the pack looks great. Got it in the cypress color. Attractive stuff.

There is a lot to like about this sturdy, well-made day pack.

Comfortable straps, sheet stay on the back, lots of compartments inside.

But the near-deal killer is the water bottle mesh pouches.

What was Kelty thinking??

They are too broad, too shallow and not snug enough.

Should you have to set the pack down horizontally, the bottle(s) will fall right out, so don't lose them.

I would suggest that until they fix this, you may want to look elsewhere.

I am going to attempt to modify the pouches instead of returning the pack, but no one should have to do this.

This is the perfect bag pack for you weekend hikers out there. Just big enough to pack all the essentials but not too bulky that will weigh you down. Very comfortable, durable and well designed!

I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I bought this bag to use it as a diaper bag for my new born son. It hasn't seen the mountains, a lake, or even a neighborhood path. It has seen various supermarkets, department stores, relatives homes, doctor's offices, and even a daytrip to an airshow. However, I do hike, camp, hunt, and fish, thus I bought this bag with dual purpose in mind.

In its current capacity as a diaper bag, it's functioning great. It carries easy, holds a sufficient amount of items for a day long excursion with my son, items can be organized easily within the various compartments and pockets, and it appears to be a quality bag that will last many years. I can easily wear the bag for hours on end and remain comfortable. As a bonus, I don't look like I'm walking around with a giant purse, which is exactly what my wife's diaper bag looks like. The side pockets allow me to stick a couple Nalgene water bottles in the bag as well for easy access. The bag can apparently be set up with a hydration system, I just haven't had the need for that yet, so can't offer an opinion on it, other than it looks like it would work...

The straps are very well designed for a light duty bag. I have never felt like the bag was going to slip off my shoulders, nor do I remember ever thinking they were uncomfortable. The waist strap is simply an unpadded nylon strap, and I've yet to ever use it, but if you plan to carry a lot of weight to the point you need a waist strap, you might want to consider another bag. For light duty though, this bag feels secure and carries very nicely. I'm not sure what other guys carry on day hikes, but my bag will probably never go above 20 lbs (and that would be heavy for me), and I think this bag would handle that weight without issue.

Overall, I'd highly recommend this bag, but will update this review once I've managed to actually slip out to the mountains a couple times.

The sizes given here are a bit large. And here I was worrying it would be a snug fit. It's fine otherwise. Except, I do wish it had handles.

Alright, so I have a Laptop with a 15.6" screen and if you include the bezel,it is 16" altogether. The item description states that it could fit 15.4" laptops. Heh, no! I place my laptop over it and I think, it's too small for my laptop. Nope, I place my laptop inside the bag and zip it up and there is this large pocket of air around the top and sides of the laptop. If you don't want your laptop sliding around in the bag and actually want to keep it safe, don't purchase this bag. I requested for a return, and soon it was authorized. So I'm all happy, ready to return this item. But Wait! The seller makes you pay for return postage. I bought this for about $5 with $5 shipping. If I pay $5 to ship it back, and they give me my $5 back, then I'm basically sending in the bag with a loss of $5. That means I won't have the bag or the money I paid for it. It's like I'm paying to get rid of it!. Forget that! I'd rather keep it and give it to someone who could use it.

Oakley Computer Si Laptop Backpack Black Dexter Bag

Oakley Computer Si Laptop Backpack Black Dexter BagWhy I'm giving it 5 *'s. I've had this bag since 2005. It's held up well so far. I used this bag for my laptop while deployed to Iraq for a year. It did get very dusty and cleaned up very well. As of today, I don't see any threads unraveling or any tears on the exterior or interior of the bag. I love the adjustable strap and the laptop case worked well with my 15" or 17" laptop with an inside compartment on the inside for my power cord. I still use this bag today for school. If it's held up this long then I don't see the point in purchasing a new bag if I don't need it.

The three small pockets on the lower front portion of the bag have velcro closures and are removable.

When you open the bag, there are two pockets and both have zip closures. One for accessories with a lot of small pockets for things like pens, keys, small stuff and I think a media pocket. The second pocket has the bag for the laptop in it.

I take the laptop bag out and can fit two books and two 1" binders and books for two classes inside it. Prefer not to because I don't like heavy bags.

Hard to find and Well worth the search! Amazing fast shipping! Great buying experiance!

Fit my 17' laptop a lil snug but thats fine.

Very cool bag. Well worth the price

ORANGE CANVAS DRAWSTRING BACKPACKS (1 DOZEN) - BULK

ORANGE CANVAS DRAWSTRING BACKPACKS - BULKThey're fairly small and won't hold much. Bought these to hold things for Girl Scout outings but ended up not using them because they could barely hold a water bottle and a lightweight kid jacket.

Don't seem at all cheap for the price, def not for very weighty items. Long enough at 15 inches but narrow enough at 9 inches to be used as the favor bag for my daughters 2nd bday party. I don't think that it is ideal to hold anything too sharp.

More sturdy than anticipated. Bought for a child's camping birthday party but the kids have been using them on real hikes ever since.
