This is my first leather laptop bag and I've used backpacks ever since. I just decided go for something different, and professional, and I couldn't be any happier when I got this bag today. But instead of providing a paragraph or two for a review, below is a bulleted list which I think may well serve you best should you need help in deciding to buy this or not:
What I like about this product:
Design: nicely designed, not too formal nor casual, perfect for work
Leather: rich and soft leather and authentic as far as I can tell
Interior: fully lined and single stitched
Locks/zippers/hooks/rings: bronzed metal that adds to the bag's character
Front compartment: pouch for a phone, 2 pen holders, 3 credit/business cards slots, one wide zippered pouch
Middle compartment: holds 15.4 inch laptops; ample space for other items, 3 open pouches (for your mouse, power adapter/cord, and perhaps an external HDD)
Rear compartment: zippered and can store important documents separately
Rear exterior pocket: with velcro, for stuff that you need easy access to
Strap: padded and is comfortable so far
Top handle: appears to be sturdy
Packaging: delivered in an amazon box and in its own Kenneth Cole box; bag itself is inside a synthetic/cloth pouch to protect the leather from scratches
What I don't like about this product:
None so far, will update this if I see any flaws
Verdict: Design. Features. Recommended.

When it comes to men and "bags", there is a fine line between something effective but also stylish in a masculine way. Kenneth Cole has achieved both. I had been searching for a messenger bag that would be effective without being bulky, stylish yet masculine, and also at a price that wasn't ridiculous. When I opened the package, the first impression stated it all. The bag is perfect in size and dimensions. Large enough to accommodate more than you realize, yet small enough not to be a bulky leather sack you have to lug around. The leather material (and YES it is leather and not something else like another review stated) is excellent in quality as well as thickness for a leather bag. The lining is smooth and padded appropriately where needed. The clasps are solid and not hard at all to work. These are far better than a magnet holding things together. Final verdict this is the perfect messenger bag. Well done Kenneth Cole! And Amazon for carrying such a high-quality product!

I bought this bag for my son in law for Christmas. The price was right and it appeared to be a really nice bag in the photos. Upon receiving it, I was stunned and shocked at the beauty of this bag. The leather is some of the finest and softest I've ever felt. The construction is absolutely flawless. The look is extremely expensive, yet the price was so reasonable, I was doubtful in the beginning at what it might look like. Well, I can tell you with complete honesty, this is the finest bag I've ever held in my hands. I retired after 35 years always carrying a bag or briefcase of some sort, but never did I ever have a bag of such fine quality in my life. After I recoup from the Holiday season, I plan on buying another one of these bags, but in a different color for myself, I really don't need one. I'll buy one to carry my laptop while traveling and get rid of my canvass looking laptop bag.
Now I want to tell you about this bag. It will easily fit most standard size laptops and it has an additional compartment for a Ipod, Kindle or other flat electronic gadget. The laptop part is padded to protect your computer, it has side compartments to carry your charger, cords and even a small set of headphones. The main center compartment will hold files, magazines, reports. It also has three additional divided compartments to hold business cards, writing instruments, maybe a small calculator, credits cards or I'D. badges. I was a little worried about the buckle system, thinking you would have to mess with buckling or unbuckling each time you need access to this bag, but not to worry. These buckles snap together very securely, yet open just as easy. The stitching is beautiful, as is the leather. So soft and supple and has that lovely smell of fine leather. It comes with a attached handle and removable strap that you can cross carry it, especially in an environment where you may worry about someone grabbing it and running off with your computer, work or other goodies. The overall look is very expensive. It worth much, much more than I paid for it. Empty, this bag is about 4" thick, that could expand to say 6" fully loaded. While carrying a laptop and a Ipod, it will maintain it's original thickness. Once you add the charger, cables and maybe a set of headphones, some folders and a magazine or two, it may expand another inch or so, but don't worry about the size, you'll be totally happy with everything about this bag.
Either as a gift or perhaps one for yourself, if you need or desire the absolute best bag you can obtain at any price, buy this bag, you won't be disappointed one bit. Come Christmas morning, I'm sure my son-in-law will love his new computer case, man-bag, briefcase or whatever type bag he so chooses to call it, he'll love it.

I have used a beat up nylon bag for a long time. I just wanted to upgrade to a professional leather bag and decided to go for the Tan Show Business bag. As an IT professional I needed a bag that I could carry two laptops, an iPad their power supplies and other external devices and still have some room for paper files. Now that I have had the bag for a few weeks I will share my impressions. Listed below are my pro's and con's.
Pro's
*Front pouch hold business card, pens and a zippered pouch, that I use mostly for usb stick drives.
*Middle compartment holds a 15.4" Lenovo and a 13" MacBook Air in a shell along with external mouse and two external hdd's.
*Back zipper compartment hold a portfolio with an iPad and a few paper folders
*Rear compartment is good for magazines and or plane tickets
*Interior is fully lined and there is enough padding for the laptops
*Look and feel of the leather is fine. It is the same quality as a $700 dollar bag but then again I did not pay $700 either.
*Top Handle, is convenient and sturdy.
*Strap is long enough to wear across body for a longer walk
*Locks/zippers/hooks/rings: all work well and are easy to use
Con's
*Only one really I would have liked the front compartment to have vertical zippers or Velcro so that the front could flap down to expose the phone, pen and business card holder. This is a personal choice.
So far so good and I can highly recommend this bag.

I rarely buy anything without performing some sort of extensive research on the product. When I decided to upgrade my backpack, I decided to start looking at messenger bags. My goal was to find something that would be professional enough to bring to work, while also being flexible enough to wear in casual settings. I searched on bags from J. Crew, Cole Haan, Kenneth Cole, Coach, Eddie Bauer, and loads of other brands. My ideal bag was leather, buckle straps in the front which locked (instead of actual buckles), large enough to fit a 13"-15" laptop, and reasonably priced. In the end, I almost pounced on the Cole Haan Heritage bag in the Woodbury color, but the price and buckles kept steering me away. Finally, I decided to pull the trigger on this bag based on the price and look of the bag.
This bag did not disappoint.
Liked About the Bag:
Leather is of good quality
The bag itself feels very "solid"
Bag contains a variety of compartments
One interior compartment is exactly the right size to house my Kindle Paperwhite in its leather case
Buckles and clasps feel sturdy, give a satisfying click when locked
Shoulder strap is thick, feels comfortable
Laptop compartment is well-padded
Fits underneath the seat on airlines
Reasonably priced (at the time, $122 for the brown version)
Minor Annoyances Regarding the Bag:
Getting into the bag, when all the clasps and zippers are in place, can take a while (a bag with magnetic clasps and the main compartment was not zippered would take considerably less time to get into). The pictures may not illustrate it, but there are two zippered compartments (one main, one aux.) which are covered by the leather flap. The zippers run all the way down the side, but you only need to unzip the top of the bag in order to access the contents. So if the bag is closed up all the way, you will need to unbuckle the two clasps in front, lift up the flap, and then unzip the main compartment in order to access (for your laptop, etc). However, there is a front flap compartment (for quick access items such as pens, an ID badge, etc) which immediately accessable once the flap is lifted.
Bag is slightly larger than expected, but this may end up being a good thing
Strongly Disliked About the Bag:
