Rothco G.I. CFP-90 Combat Pack / Backpack

Rothco G.I. Plus Black CFP-90 Combat PackI had this originally issued to me awhile back ago. I was able to keep the smaller bag that goes with it and recently purchased this new bag. Unfortunately, it is not able to connect the 2 bags together again. This is a pretty good bag other then that. I like the separate compartments in the main bag for the sleeping bag. However, I was hoping to be able to use it as a set again, so for that, I was disappointed.

We ordered a backpack and had to return it due to unforseen shipping issues. This company absolutely stands on its reputation of excellent customer service making the return hassle free and non-advesarial.

When we have additional needs, this source will be our first choice.

This is a rating of the vendor, not the item as it was returned unopened.

STAR WARS BACKPACK BUDDIES R2-D2

STAR WARS BACKPACK BUDDIES R2-D2If you're reading this, the question you're asking isn't "Do I like Star Wars" or "Do I need a backpack" but "Is this worth buying for myself or others who love Star Wars?" The answer is yes. My girlfriend loves it as much now as when she got it months ago, and she uses it for anything light (she doesn't want to risk tearing it with heavy textbooks).

Strawberry Shortcake Pink Toddler Backpack and Matching Shoulder Purse Set

Strawberry Shortcake Pink Toddler Backpack and Matching Shoulder Purse SetI love that this backpack is not the teeny-bopper version of Strawberry Shortcake that I see so much these days. That is the main reason I chose this particular one for my neice's birthday. She loves it! My only complaint would be that the water bottle broke almost immediately. This didn't bother us too much, as I was just glad to see the side pockets could hold larger items like that; she will be putting her own sippy cups in those pockets anyhow. She also loved the little bonus purse that came with it. My daughter tried to sweet talk her out of it because she thought it was so neat.

Timbuk2 Commute 2.0 Laptop Messenger Bag

Timbuk2 Commute 2011 Messenger Bag, Gunmetal/Rev Red/Gunmetal, SmallFor reference, I purchased the medium-sized grey/white/grey bag Timbuk2 Commute 2.0. I am using this bag primarily for my daily commute to work (~4 miles roundtrip by bicycle) and air travel.

This was my first Timbuk2 purchase and at the two month mark I am very pleased. I purchased this bag after my last messenger (Swiss Gear) disappointingly fell apart after about 2 months of moderate use. Just looking at the construction and feeling the quality of materials I can tell the Timbuk2 is going to with me for a long, long time.

I considered a few of the trendier labels (Chrome, Manhattan Portage, Crumpler), but in the end the price, functionality, and aesthetic of the Timbuk2 just fit my personal needs perfectly. In terms of aesthetics, I like that my bag is kinda sporty and fun if I'm using it for leisure, but also businessy enough that I can use it with a shirt and tie. For what it's worth, I managed to snag my bag on the cheap from an Amazon Marketplace seller for $59. :)

Following are a few thoughts I had on the bag:

Construction & Durability (Grade = A)

==========

I've only had the bag for two months, but it has held up perfectly thus far and I envision it still going strong for many years to come. After two months of daily use, it basically still looks and feels like new.

The seamwork, fabric, zippers, and design are all of very high quality, and you can tell just by holding it that the bag was built to last. It might begin to fall apart if you are extremely rough with it or if you are a professional bike courier, but for the average person it'll probably last at least a decade.

Size (M) (Grade = A)

==========

I've been pleasantly surprised at how much my bag (medium) can fit -I typically carry a Canon EOS 20D DSLR + lens, small laptop & accessories, business papers, a couple books, a spare t-shirt, a whole bevy of electronic gadgets and there is still room for more. My main laptop is pretty small at 13.1" and quite thin, and fits into the laptop pocket with ample space. Do be sure to check your laptop dimensions though... my other laptop is a 15.4" and does not fit in the medium laptop pocket.

Fit & Comfort (Grade = B with stock strap pad, A with Grip Pad)

==========

Initially, I was a bit skeptical that the bag didn't have any way of attaching a cross-strap for stability while riding. For this and for comfort reasons, I decided to purchase the Grip Strap Pad with my bag and I couldn't be happier. In my opinion, the grip pad should be the standard pad that comes with the bag, and is an essential buy to make the bag more comfortable and functional. With the grip pad, the bag hardly ever slips off my back when I'm riding.

The laptop chamber with it's corduroy back padding helps keep the bag from losing its shape. It is firm yet supple, so that the bag feels sturdy and comfortable on your back. With a rigid back, I was afraid the bag would slide around on my back but if the strap is properly adjusted I find the bag to be nicely form fitting and very little unintentional sliding occurs.

Design Features (Grade = B+ as stock, A with Slider Case)

==========

(+) Swivel joints on the strap make it so that the strap hardly ever twists/tangles.

(+) Strap has quick-release adjustment buckle which makes adjusting the strap a cinch.

(+) Good organizational pockets underneath main flap.

(+) Rubber bottom and waterproof fabric lining the main flap.

(+) Corduroy laptop lining keeps laptop safe and allows bag to keep its shape.

(+) Strong and well-positioned handle so it can be carried briefcase-style.

(+) Velcro on main flap keeps flap secure if you're too lazy to buckle/unbuckle.

(+) TSA-approved laptop sleeve makes going through security a little easier.

(-) The Grip Pad probably should have been included as stock.

(-) No quick access pockets on the exterior of the main flap.

This issue was solved for me by purchasing the Slider Case which gives me access to my mp3 player right on my strap.

I am an ITS major with a lot of gadgets, a laptop, thick manual like books, graphing calculator, and the occasional red bulls/water that I need to carry around on a daily basis. I have had the bag since 2/23/2010 and have not had a single problem to date.

I love the Commute 2.0 for my MBP(5,1) 15in as it fits the laptop like a glove (tight, but secure tight) and separates it from the rest of the objects that I need to carry around which could potentially break the screen if carried right next to each other. The primary decision revolved around this laptop and so far the bag has not let me down at all in that respect.

For books, this messenger bag can carry quite a few (two binders, sketch book, two notebooks, 1in thick book, and a 2 1/4") books with no problem. The weight is distributed nicely around the entire strap and I don't find myself constantly switching shoulders or switching to the handle. The handle, btw, is a nice addition if you are just happening to carry the bag a short distance and don't find the need to pull the bag over a shoulder.

The only con so far is that the braces (what the shoulder strap clips on to) for the shoulder strap are made our of metal and the clips for the strap itself are made out of plastic. This leads to a squeak, not that it is a deal breaker, but is rather annoying while walking.

I am glad to have gotten the product from Amazon (amazingly fast shipping considering I ordered the supersaver -3 days total for the bag to be processed, shipped, and delivered) and entirely satisfied with the bag itself.

I've been using this bag for a few months now and travel pretty regularly. It was advertised as "TSA compliant" and, I have to say, this is one of the best things about this bag. It's so much easier to go through security. I can spend more time fussing with my boot zippers than dealing with taking my laptop out of my bag!

The bag also has a ton of great organization pockets and overall, it's just a really comfortable fit. It looks causal but professional at the same time. I'm really happy with this bag and definitely recommend it!

After being a frequent flier for the past year with this bag, I like it, but I don't love it.

I want to love this bag. Timbuk2 has cultivated a reputation for very well-made and well-designed travel gear. Timbuk2 is the Apple of bags -you pay a premium, but you are paying for excellent design. I get it. I even embrace it. I want to pay extra for a bag that's perfectly designed. But unfortunately this bag isn't it.

This bag is supposed to be the briefcase of their line best suited for frequent airline travel.

I do like several things about the bag. The material is sturdy and waterproof. I like that the bag closes with both velcro (for quick use) and clips (for maximum security). I do like the TSA-friendly laptop compartment in back, and the pocket in the laptop compartment designed to hold papers for easy access.

But there are, to my eye, some design shortcomings in this bag:

The big interior pocket is not padded at all. I travel with my laptop, which goes in the laptop compartment, and also with an iPad, which goes in the main compartment. The bottom of this compartment has no padding at all, so when I set the bag on the floor the contents of that compartment are not protected at all from shock. I had to buy a bulky case for my iPad, just to put it in the bag.

The "hinges" for the straps aren't very well designed. Their odd shape means that if you carry the bag over one shoulder, they have a tendency to turn sideways and bunch up the webbing that holds them on. Also, when the cover of the bag is closed (i.e., most of the time, the bend in the material pokes out and means that the straps are contorting around the corner of the bag, unless you manually adjust where the strap goes.

There is a slit in the back of the bag, designed so that you can slip the bag over a roller-bag's handle and keep the Timbuk2 bag secure while you are rolling. When you have a laptop in the back compartment, however, there is not enough slack in this slit to accommodate a roller-bag handle without great effort. I would love to be able to secure my Timbuk2 bag to my roller's handles but don't even bother trying anymore -it just takes too long to get it on and off of there. A velcro-based wide strap, to go around a roller handle, would be a much more ideal solution here.

With typical loading (maybe it's just me), the bag has a tendency to lean "forward" and not sit upright. This wouldn't be a tremendous problem, except for the fact that you can't easily strap it to a roller bag handle (see above). So, if you are walking through an airport with the Timbuk2 bag resting on top of a roller bag, and stop walking, the Timbuk2 has a tendency to fall off the roller bag and onto the floor. Combine this tendency with the fact that the interior main pocket has no padding at all, and you have potential for damaged contents.

There is an external pocket on one side, but not the other. If you carry the bag over your right shoulder, you have easy access to this pocket. If you carry the bag over your left shoulder, you have no pocket at all. Why not put a pocket on each side?

If you are carrying some papers and want to keep them from sloshing all over the place in the bag, the only place to put them is in the pocket located in the laptop compartment. It would be nice to have an additional "paper" pocket in the main compartment. I carry around a big plastic folder in the back of the main compartment for papers. I wonder why I have to do this.

I want to love this bag but after a year these small design shortcomings have made me want to seek alternatives. I will continue to search for the perfect laptop bag for airline travel. Unfortunately, this isn't it. Perhaps with the Commute 3.0 Timbuk2 will address these shortcomings.

No matter how hard I searched online, including on Flickr, I could not find any review or note that stated if the Small fit the Macbook Pro. The Timbuk2 website says it does but most review stated the Medium just fit it so I decided to try for myself as I wanted to get the smallest size possible. (I hate oversized bags). It fits perfectly! Its a little snug at first but after 2 days it seems to have relaxed a little and I am very happy with the fit and overall size compared to the medium which I also tried.

High Sierra Swerve Backpack

High Sierra Swerve BackpackThis backpack is what I was looking for 100%. I looked for a spacious backpack that would help me out in college.

I was a bit concerned when I read the reviews on this product, though. I read that the material felt cheap and that the zippers were not the best. When I received the product, I had absolutely no complaints from the look of it. I felt the material and it was good. Definitely not what I had read the in the reviews. I received this product before the estimated delivery date, as well,

which was an added bonus.

Overall, I recommend this product! I took the risk and bought it because I loved the design and it was very colorful and I do not regret my decision of buying this product.

This replaced another High Sierra backpack that had lasted for many years despite the ridiculously huge amount of books that the school has the kids carrying around. We've found that High Sierra seems to be a reliable choice and the last several backpacks we've purchased for the kids over the years have been High Sierra. There is a dizzying array of choices in this brand, all sizes, styles, and varying user reviews, so brand name alone is not sufficient, but if one chooses the right size and scans user reviews, it seems like a good brand.

The kids all carry their backpacks by one strap, which hurts their shoulders and of course puts more strain on the poor one strap, but so far all of our backpacks have survived. The usual mode of failure is the zipper, sometimes can be fixed with a little work, but when it pulls out completely it costs more to fix than get a new one. Less frequently, the bottom of the backpack wears out, daylight, from wear with all the books. This new one was to replace one with a ripped-out zipper.

Our daughter loves the styling, it's the right size (i.e., huge), comfortable, seems well made, and the price was very reasonable. What else can one say? Very satisfied and I recommend it for school.

I am a college student. I carry my laptop around with me and a few folders and notebooks.

When I used the backpack for the first time, it was very uncomfortable and stiff and hurt my back a ton! But now, a couple weeks later, its a lot better, and I like it a lot. I don't think I would recommend this for a very small, and thin person. The shoulder sit kind of wide on the shoulders. I guess, I dont have the most broad of shoulders either.

I like the color. I was afraid it would be too blue for me, but I barely even think about it, and you don't see many people with a backpack like mine on campus.

I like the laptop compartment, it seems to be fine for my laptop. The pockets are all nice. I can fit my Camelbak water bottle in the side holders. The one thing I don't like is that there is a small pocket zip for inbetween the larger compartment zips, and it is not soft lined. It's like a plastic-y material. But, I do love the pocket, because a lot of my small things can go in it. Like, my pocket book, chapstick, headphones, phone... etc.

Good backpack, it seems very sturdy! It took forever to be shipped to me though!

Such a cute backpack! The bright colors and cheerful floral print really caught my eye. I love this backpack just because it looks so adorable, and I'm pleasantly surprised that it is very functional as well. I like the zippered compartments which keep my things separated and organized. I love the convenient external key rings and pouches for water bottles. The inner pockets are great for small items. The padded straps are comfortable, even when the backpack is fully loaded. There is a sleeve that protects important papers from getting bent or crumpled. I enjoy taking this backpack with me everywhere. The fabric looks very durable, so we will happily be going places together for a long time to come.

This backpack is big and roomy, I've got it for my 6 grader daughter , they have to carry a lot, this one looks like it will be enough. The colors nice and bright, looks better then on the picture, also I was not sure if the price is good, because seen very similar backpack at TJMaxx, twice cheaper, but after I received it, there were no more doubts, this one has more sections, more room, more organized. Overall I'm happy.

STM Bags Ranger Small Laptop Backpack

STM Ranger Backpack with Removable Computer Sleeve and Integrated iPad/Tablet Pocket for 13-Inch MacBooks and LaptopsI really like the removable laptop sleeve with a zipper that goes around two sides, making it easy to slip my computer into it when it's in the backpack. The backpack does not stand upright on its own when set on the floor, but that's probably to be expected with most backpacks. Rain cover is easy to get on/off. Key clip in convenient location.

High Sierra Evolution 28-Inch Wheeled Upright Suitcase

High Sierra Evolution 28' Upright Lava/Charcoal/AshI bought the 28" and 22" High Sierra suitcases. After one trip, the stitching on the 28" suitcase started unraveling. The suitcase was not over-packed (30 lbs. total weight according to the airline scale), so there was no undue stress. The "cheap" suitcase that I also used did not show any signs of wear (26 lbs. total weight). Same trip, same handling. The inside clothing hold-down straps were difficult to adjust tight enough to prevent content shifting. The wheels do roll good and the corners seemed durable against abrasion, and it is lightweight. The warranty is somewhat useless--sending the product back for their determination of whether or not it was their fault in the product failure is laughable. I had it repaired at a shoe shop for less than the cost of shipping the suitcase.

This luggage is not good quality and looked like we had owned it for 10 years after one trip. The only positive is that it is bright in color and easily recognizable at the luggage claim.

Buy High Sierra Evolution 28-Inch Wheeled Upright Suitcase Now

Your first thought will be, these are so light, how will they ever hold up. These literally weigh less than half the weight of the bags they're replacing.

We actually purchased a couple of these bags. Mine is green and my wife's is red. We've used them for one cross country airplane trip and they did very well. The red seemed to soil a little more than the green but that could have just been something it came in contact with.

The only thing I don't like about the design is there's really no way to secure the zipper closures. At one location mine came off the belt with underwear hanging out. What I think happened was TSA didn't bother to fully close everything after inspection (yes, it was inspected). But it really wouldn't take much for the zipper to catch on something and end up partially open.

Other than that, the're great. Even if you don't take the bag all the way to maximum weight, why lug around extra weight that you don't need?

Travel Buddies Archie Alien (Green) (18"H x 12"W x 10"D)

Travel Buddies Archie AlienI ordered this luggage set for my 4 year old son who travels with me quite frequently. He wanted to roll my luggage so I found this set. He loves it!! Very sturdy and easy to roll. My son especially likes that it has skateboard like clear wheels. The zipper is a little stiff yet, but this set is still new. The backpack is a perfect size with padded shoulder straps, and holds just enough so they aren't carrying too much weight. Like the description says, both pieces are carry-on friendly.

Bower SCB1450 Digital Pro Sling SLR Backpack - Black

Bower SCB1450 Digital Pro Sling SLR Backpack - BlackI bought this bag for a 3 week backpacking trip in South America last year and have used it exclusively since then. I haven't had any issues with the quality of its build or materials. The strap is well padded and the bag holds my camera, extra lens, battery, charger and other accessories. The top pocket can even hold a 16oz. bottle of water which is awesome as I use this bag when hiking quite a bit. I chose this bag because I like to keep my hands free while traveling and often times need quick access to my camera which this bag allows for with the sling design. At this price you can't go wrong.

I received this sling as a gift for Christmas and within two months it started to fall apart. At first it seems to be pretty sturdily made but I guess the stitching is not as strong as it looks. The top of the shoulder strap is tearing away and is now torn about a quarter of the way across. Also, the top loop handle is separating, which surprises me as it is rare that I even use that to pick the sling up. I carry an SLR with a lens and a speedlight and that is all so there is no way I am overloading the sling itself. If you are looking for a good sling that will hold up I would look elsewhere. Perhaps the lowepro or caselogic versions will have better results.

This is a great bag for holding my Panasonic GH1 along with three lenses (100-300mm, 14-140mm and 20mm pancake) and a variety of other accessories.

I find the bag sits on my shoulder very nicely. I use the extra strap when I'm going for more than a few minutes to keep the main strap away from my neck.

I needed a bigger bag when I added my 100-300mm zoom to the camera and this worked out great.

I bought this camera bag, and it has these neat velcro compartments that you can rearrange to fit your lenses and accessories and all that...except you really CAN'T rearrange the danged things cuz instead of having whole panels of the fuzzy side to attach them to, there's just a strip here and there. So basically, you can take all the compartments out...and then put them right back in the same way again. :| Aside from that, it seems to be pretty well constructed, and I do like the top compartment that holds a body with a standard 18-55mm lens attached.

Want Bower SCB1450 Digital Pro Sling SLR Backpack - Black Discount?

This bag is very nice, but the other part of the buckle at the end of the sling is missing???? when i look at the picture i can see that the sling is attached to the side of the bag but on the bag i received there is nothing! so now i have a useless backpack with an open sling that can only be held like a hang bag.

Three compartment. Big center with a small side at each end. Strong handle. Been around the world and it still looks and functions like new. Zippers are durable and strong. Nothiing but good things to say.

CONGO: Zebra Print or Leopard Print Luggage Tags by Lewis & Clark

Belle Hop Zebra Fashion Luggage TagThese little luggage tags are the best ever! I bought some at an airport store about 8 years ago and they're still like new. Right size for a business card to slide right in. Wanted some more for other pieces of luggage and couldn't find them anywhere until I happened to see the discrete "Belle Hop" name on one of the tags. Found 'em online and ordered several. One thing, though, I thought I was ordering from the same company when I selected the "circles" style in addition to the animal print, but no so as they gigged me bigtime for shipping/handling. Watch for Amazon Prime.

This luggage tag is very sturdy and has got a fun zebra design. But it's not just for fun the zebra print makes your suitcase more recognizable on the luggage carousel so much easier to spot in a sea of other black suitcases!

(Be aware that though the photo shows both zebra and leopard designs, you are just getting the zebra.)

It also attaches very securely. Very pleased with this tag!

Buzz 4-in-1 Poppy Backpack

Buzz 4-in-1 Poppy Backpack - BlueI bought this bag in black. My husband can use it and not feel weird. Wearing it as a backpack is so comfortable. Also, I can handle my baby easier with a bag on my back and not on my shoulder. Hanging it on the stoller is great. Have not tried using it as a messenger bag. Holds everything I need in place so I don't have to dig around for things. Material is soft and waterproof. I put a sippy cup in the top pocket. The sippy cup leaked and the pocket was full of water but it did not soak through to any other part of the bag. I turned the bag upside down and poured the water out. After 15 minutes the pocket was completely dry. I was amazed. GREAT bag. Will be the gift I give people now when they are having a baby.

I have been using this as a diaper bag backpack for 9 months. I love it because I have to kids under 2 and there is plenty of space for all of their things. The only thing I would like to see different would be a spot for sippy cups/bottles/water bottles on the outside of the bag. Other than that, love it. It still looks great after 9 months of daily use.

Initially I was thrilled with the bag in particular the different straps enabeling you to hang / carry the bag in various ways. However, once I came to use the bag it became a real "faff" to get things out of the main compartment. When you unzip the bag the front flops down to act as the changing mat (great) but all your stuff is behind a mesh compartment with a zip 3/4 of the way down it. I just found this a pain when you just wanted to get stuff out quickly or from the bottom of your pile (of a million and one things you have to carry about with a baby) due to the zip not being at the top. Other than that it was a very well made bag and I liked the compartment at the top which I used for phone and wallet when hung on my stroller. I'm sad to say though I have exchanged for a smaller, simpler diaper bag with no faffy mesh inner.

Oneill Men's Epic Backpack

Oneill Men's Epic Backpack, Black, One SizeWe got a great deal on this backpack about twelve dollars for the red LOVE Amazon! I wasn't sure what the quality was going to be like at that price but since it was for my young son who need it for light school use I figured it would be okay (This is however a full adult sized bag). When it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. It has padding in the shoulder straps and against the back. The bottom has thin rubber-ish coating making it seem more durable but I don't expect to be able to test this any time soon. One of the little front pockets is lined with soft material making it perfect for holding small electronics. This bag will last for years to come!

My grandson saw an Oneill backpack that he wanted but I was not willing to pay the $45. I always go to Amazon to check pricing and my grandson picked this one which was $21.45 vs the normal selling price of around $54. This is actually a much nicer backpack then he oringinally picked out at half the price.

As a daily backpack, this looks very nice, is comfortable to wear, and is very durable.

My only complaint is that the straps are a little loose, and are easily nudged out of place. A very minor complaint for an otherwise perfect bag.

This was purchased to replace a similar bag that was about two years old. Although it is basically the same shape and style as the old bag, this bag is a little smaller, has fewer extra pockets and is not as well made as the old one, which was disappointing. Still, for the money, it is an ok bag and I will be keeping it.

Stephen Joseph Girls 2-6x Gogo Turtle Bag

Stephen Joseph Girls 2-6x Gogo Turtle Bag,Lime Green/Pink,One SizeThis is the perfect size book bag for my 3 year old preschooler! She used to have the cloth bag by Stephen Joseph, but it just doesn't hold very much. This bag, however, is super cute and fits her perfectly! Everything her teachers send home fits great!

Armor Tactical Response Backpack Bag for Professionals GO Bag

Armor Tactical Response Backpack Bag for Professionals GO BagI have the "CERT" version of this bag (green with yellow "CERT" on the long side pocket). The outer long side pocket holds 3 C-Collars (a little tight but they fit). Each of the outer pockets hold a metal water container (not designed for them but they work). They advertise they are radio pockets but are WAY too big to hold radios even public service radios.

The inner large pocket is one giant pocket with two mesh inner pockets (on the same side as the front water bottle pockets). I can hold one foldable canvas litter and an emergeny radio/binoculars in the mesh pockets. The large inner area can hold a green CERT backpack and the waist pack just right. The shoulder straps shown work but are not comfortable for any kind of long hauling more to get your gear from your truck to a plane or bus.

This pack (in my opinion) is great to keep all of your CERT gear, climbing gear, water rescue gear, etc. in one spot, easily accessable and organized. I keep mine in the back of my Excursion but this would fit even in smaller cars (mid size to the larger end of compact cars). NOT for smart cars, etc. :) This is much more durable than a typical zipper duffel...the zipper is very tough (heavy duty YKK?), stitching is beefy and it's meant to be abused.

Does it's job...price has gone up since I bought mine (found it for closer to $75)...honestly I wouldn't buy it now at it's current price you can find other bags without the 'frills' (MOLLE, etc.) that you don't end up using anyway. If you can find it cheaper than $100, go for it, but at $129 it's a little overpriced.

Deuter Fox 40 Kids Trekking Daypack

Deuter Kid's Fox 40 BackpackSince my son is only 8, I can't expect to much from this backpack, yet still were were plased with it.

carried 18 lbs with and didn't whimper much.

The waist belt adjustment strap could be better. Other than that, no worries.
