Otium 20228NBLK Leisure Canvas Bagpack Backpack, Garment Washed Black

I've carried this around for about a month now with often than not loads of notebooks that hurt my back, and well, it's still in tact!

It's bigger than a "hiking" backpack I've previously carried around, and obviously much cuter and chic. I'm sure you could carry around about five of Fivestar five-subject notebooks and still have some extra space. It's wide and roomy.

There's a laptop slip inside (towards where your back goes) and a zipped pocket to put whateveryouwant to put. On the other side there are little pockets to put pens and two that are almost big enough to fit in a Apple laptop charger. The two pouches outside are pretty perfect for an Apple laptop charger.

Closing the backpack is not traditional, but you'll get easily used to it.

The only downside is the lack of a soft pad-sort of material against your back-meaning, if there's irregular shaped things in the laptop slip, you're going to feel it. I'm fine with dealing with that, though.

Anyway, I absolutely love this bag! Glad I got it.

6/7/13 -Quick edit: So I've used this bag for college for the last few months. It doesn't have the best back support-my hiking bag I mentioned earlier feels much lighter because of the cushions on it. This bag does not have that. Regardless, my love for this bag does not end. It has not broken on me yet, and I carried around more than I should while school was in session. If you have bad back-you have been warned!

This kind of Korean or Japanese style backpack is my favorite one so far! Very satisfied with the texture and the color.It looks not big but it can even fit my 15 inch laptop! Perfect choice for international students from Asia.

I wanted to make sure I had the perfect backpack for my style and to held everything I use at school, but still be comfortable to wear. I FOUND IT! This bag is awesome. DAKINE Girl's Jewel Pack

I love this backpack! There are lots of pockets to stay organized and it can fit everything I need during the day for school (I'm a sophomore in college). It is also very comfortable. Even with my mac, a giant organic chemistry book, and some notebooks, it doesn't feel too heavy. I really like the separate computer pocket so my mac is protected, but if I don't have my computer it is out of the way. I thought that the cooler pocket would be wasted space for me, but it's a really nice, deep pocket that I use for carrying fruit, computer cable, or any other little things. I have used it for one semester and it seems very sturdy I'm sure it will last a long time!

I really like this backpack for its' space and ability to protect and hold my laptop. I have a smaller laptop and I am a small woman (5' 2"). The back pack is a little too long and doesn't sit above my hips. I just wanted to let other shoppers know that if they are on the smaller side, the back pack may hang lower than they are expecting. This causes some discomfort in my back as it is trying to compensate on the placement of the back pack. I am trying to figure out a way to shorten the straps even more!

This bag is absolutely fantastic. We got this as a larger diaper bag for overseas travel but have since used it as our everyday baby bag as well. The bag has so many pockets in strategically smart places that it is a joy to use. I especially appreciate the built-in cooler in the front. I am able to carry some meals and if needed frozen breastmilk with us without having to lug a separate cooler. The two large and deep side mesh pockets are also great. I can carry an empty bottle and formula packs in one, a water bottle or snacks in the other. I use the laptop pocket in the very back as diapering pocket: I keep all diapering supplies in the. The length of that pocket runs the entire back of the pack, so you can carry a nice large diaper pad with you. The small organizational pocket in the front and media pocket above that are nice for putting some of your own stuff into, or to carry some medications or other hygiene products. I have always appreciated Dakine's ergonomic strap design as well. It wraps nicely and snuggly around my back and I can even put it over an Ergo without it feeling strange. This is a pack that is good for anything. We got it in Devin, which looks so much nicer in person than in the picture. It's very charming. I love it.

This book bag is perfect for carrying heavy books because of its wide straps and the weight seems to be dispersed rather evenly. It also has a cute design. High Sierra AT656 22 Inch - Carry On Expandable Wheeled Duffel with Backpack Straps

I was about to travel overseas to Amsterdam which is known for steep steps and cobblestone streets. I only wanted to bring one bag, and liked the Rick Steves idea of going with only one carryon (although I cheated and also brought a messenger bag just in case).

I love this suitcase for many reasons.

PROS:

It's exactly carry-on size for most airlines, but only if it's lightly packed. Thus, I put a lot of stuff for the trip to Europe in my messenger bag so that the suitcase would stay 9" deep.

If you end up buying lots of souvenirs like I did on your trip, the bag actually expands in depth from 9" to 14". Of course, you'll probably have to check your bag in on the way back, but there will probably be no checked bag fee (for international travel, that is).

The suitcase straps are convenient if you need them. I personally never did, but I can see a situation where I don't really want to drag the bag.

-It has a duffel-like strap over the top (when it's lying flat). You can't really use it for carrying, but it's nice to help heft a full bag onto your luggage rack for unpacking using just one hand.

You can use the adjustable side buckles to compress the bag a little more when it's packed, so that stuff moves around less and the bag takes up just a bit less space

CONS:

As is typical, the collapsing bar you use to drag the bag takes up a lot of space in the interior.

Once full, the suitcase is pretty heavy on your back. It doesn't look like the materials use any of the super-fancy lightweight structural stuff like carbon fiber, but that's why you're saving money on luggage. :)

The grey and red version, which I bought, doesn't stand out like crazy on the conveyor belt, so you really gotta hunt for it for a flight coming off a 747 after you've gone through customs.

It's not a "spinner" four-wheeled suitcase. I'm still coveting one of those.

All in all, I recommend this suitcase especially if you're traveling somewhere that you'll be coming home with more stuff than you left.

Preface: I purchased 3 bags. This one, the 26-inch version and the 32-inch version.

This bag in particular is generally my carry-on. I fly exclusively on Delta and on larger jets, it fits exactly as its supposed to in the overhead bin, wheels in, top out. On midsized regional planes, it fits sideways. I have not yet flown with it on the small regional jets, but I expect to have to "pink tag" it and drop/retrieve it at the gate.

NOTE: The above statement assumes that you keep the expansion CLOSED, not open. If you open the expansion, be prepared to check it (and pay for it) on most aircraft. I pack this bag relatively light so the top pocket can be kind of "squished" in, for lack of a better term. I can get a 2-3 day trip out of this bag.

As far as the series AT-6 luggage in general, some reviewers have knocked it because its not a spinner type (4 independent wheels), and I'm not sure why, its pretty obvious its not. If that's what you're looking for, all I can tell you is that this luggage isn't what you're looking for.

All roll aboard luggage with the retractable handle like this takes up space inside and this bag is also no exception. There is a thin piece of material between the compartment and the telescope path which is flexible, so you could probably cram a few extra pairs of socks in if you plan ahead.

I have taken these bags on numerous trips since purchase and they're holding up very well, checked and as carry-on. I've not had any broken contents (knock on wood) in any case, nor have any parts or straps been torn or broken (knock on wood).

The built-in ID card holder is a really nice feature, protected from the elements and is attached by a piece of elastic so it can't simply fall out and be lost (spreading your personal information all over the airport). I don't use the backpack straps much, but on the 22-inch bag, they're comfortable. I find the other larger ones too heavy to wear like that comfortably.

The only way I could suggest High Sierra make this series better (again, I'm not letting it detract from my rating because it is clear it doesn't have this feature) is to add a "daisy-chain" strap for easier towing of more than one piece. This problem is easily corrected with a simple, economical product: Travelon Multi-Bag Stacker

I purchased this case, specifically for a two week trip to Europe, in which I would be flying and carrying this on as well as taking trains throughout Europe. I thought I would use the straps but I did not and that was okay, they were there if I needed them. If you are careful in your packing (I used a ruler)and do not extend the case or overpack, this fits nicely into overhead compartments on an airplane. We were on three different planes before we arrived in Luxembourg and this case did nicely. This case is a really good size for traveling by train as well, as the overhead storage is significantly smaller on trains. When it was fully packed I had to keep it in the seat with me a couple of times.

The extended handle felt a little flimsy at times, but it never gave out. I had two different people on my trip lose there wheels on their suitcases. We were literally schlepping from train station to hotel on cobblestone roads for as far as two miles, in five different cities. This little case did wonderful. As the trip progressed I had plenty of room to pack souveniers. My room mate was amazed at everything I could pack in this case. I had it completely full for our trip back, in which it was checked luggage. It never toppled over or became difficult to manage throughout the airport. This was a great little suitcase. My only feedback would be improvements to security. It does not have a locking mechanism on it and the zipper pulls were not really designed to attach a lock or keep a lock as they were parachute cording. I was able to secure it using cable ties. Just carry extra in case you have to open your case for customs.

I love this bag!

It has a zippered lining running through the middle of the bag so you have an upper and lower shelf, or you can unzip it and it roles and bungees out of the way for one large compartment. The pocket sizes are just right the one in front runs almost to the bottom of the bag and is shaped so it's not incredibly tight; I can easily fit my arm down in, and the mesh pocket inside also feels oddly roomy.

This bag feels durable. The material, stitching, zippers, clips, handle and wheels all feel sturdy and meant to last with reasonable use.

The backpack straps fold away perfectly. Instead of having to scrunch them into a pocket, the back panel unzips away from the bag and folds over backward to become a protection pad to keep the wheels from getting your sides dirty.

I bought the green bag and really love the color. I'm not quite sure what to call it it's brighter than a forest, maybe "fern"? it's distinctive, but not obnoxious. Very pretty.

The first thing I thought of when I saw the clips on the sides was that they are perfect to help with overpacking problems if you can't get the zipper shut, just let the straps out all the way, clip them, and yank them to tighten everything, then zip.

The strap across the front, in combination with the clips on the side, make it easy to clip together and lift if you need to move the bag quickly while unpacking, but without a lot of fuss.

The 2" expansion ability is a plus, and the zipper is specially labeled so it's easy to find. Nice touch.

FYI, the strap on the front is all one piece, it doesn't separate into two handles. I don't care, but apparently in Europe it's very fashionable for a couple to share the duffel-carrying duties by each taking a strap. That wouldn't be possible with this bag.

Overall I love this bag. I'm a photographer and always in search of the perfect camera bag, but this duffel has finally ended my search for the perfect luggage. I've used it just a couple times now, but I really can't think of anything I've found that I wish I could change. Thumbs up all around.

Sanrio Hello Kitty Large Backpack with Re-attachable Lunch Bag

My daughter picked this backback mostly because it came with the lunchbox. I was really disappointed when it came because the lunchbox is only about two inches wide. The description says is is 10x8, which is ok, but two inches wide is not nearly big enough to fit anything into. It is cute, but we won't be using it for a lunch box. The backpack itself is fine and she really loved it.

My 5YO niece loves this bag. The lunch box is a bit too big for a kindergarder's lunch so her food rattles around some, but like how it clips no room for "forgetting lunch on the bus". It would be better for kids that bring a thermos. :)

Bought it for my 6 yr old for school and as she is a child it got dirty.

Threw the lunch box in the washer pulled it out and half the picture is washed off.

Few days later her backpack was dirty so I threw it in a pillowcase hoping to avoid the paint peeling and nope same thing paint peeling off. Who makes a backpack for children that you can't wash?

OGIO Half Dome Duffel Bag

I own this as well as a previous generation of this bag, so I can point out and review the things they changed and things they kept. We're only talking 4 years ago, a long story how I managed to ruin that bag--my fault, not the product's.

Actually, they changed a lot that would not be noticed at first sight. The outer fabric looks the same, but close up it's a waffled texture, and seems sturdier than the old, but of course only time will tell. The former fabric was of decent sturdiness. The outside design is nearly identical, with a newly added pouch for whatever--an ipod, keys or some such. The biggest differences are on the inside: on the old model there was a thin, rectangular piece (likely cardboard), covered in plastic, that lay across the bottom to retain something of a flat shape. This was a nice feature to me. Now it's gone; the whole bottom is now quite shapeless, so if you put something heavy inside first, it juts out. The bag may fit better now into a locker, etc.. Also, they've added a new, rubberized coating on the inside fabric. This is better for wet things, I guess, but WARNING!!! It stinks. Alot. You'll want to keep this at all times back in your car's trunk for sure. I was happy with this bag once before, and hope this one will do the trick again.

When I first took the bag out of the box, I thought I had made a mistake and it was way too small. Then I loaded my gym stuff it it, and was pleasantly surprised to see how much stuff I could get in there! I have a pair of very large gym shoes (men's 12), shampoo, swim stuff, lotions, and a change of clothes and still room for other small things. My gym supplies towels, so if I had to bring my own it might get a little too tight. The material seems to be quite sturdy and I like the small pocket on the front for my very small items (like cell phone or hair bands). The bag is flexible to get into a locker, but sturdy enough to hold its own shape when carrying unlike my current bag which is shapeless and shifts everything around. Anyway, I'm pleased with my purchase and would recommend it. Just one more thing....I didn't notice when I purchased the pink one, but it's a 2 tone color of deep pink and purple over the top zipper area (but I like it!)

Tumi Luggage Alpha Travel Tote Bag

I was somewhat uncertain about this bag at first. You should know that I'm quite a "bag nut" and have carried a man bag ever since I got my first iPad because I wanted it with me always. I'm a photographer so I also carry a digital camera (the Sony RX100 with case that I got on Amazon of course). Subtract maybe an inch for inside dimensions. Also if you open up the zippered expander, add 3" to the width dimensions. Expanded, this is a big bag. Empty it weighs in at 2 pounds, 9 ounces. The strap is a good quality nylon and is 1 1/2" wide by 57" long fully lengthened. Plenty of strap for cross-carry, which is how I usually carry it. But being nylon, it will easily slip off from and side carry. The strap also does not have padding. Tumi should have equipted this otherwise excellent bag with one of their padded straps they use for their other bags. I have several Tumi bags and those straps are much better if you are planning to use this bag and fill it with stuff as it will get heavy and the padding will be necessary. I'd recommend the Victorinox Comfort Fit Shoulder Strap, Black, which is an 1 1/2" wide strap and long enough for cross carry also. Also available on Amazon of course. The Tumi strap is removable, making this substitution easy (by the way, I don't get anything from Amazon for these "plugs." I just find what I want there and love the Prime shipping and instant video so I use it a lot). I subtracted one star for the strap deficiency.

Inside the main compartment is a voluminous cavern of space to stow mucho stuff. It begs to be packed into. You can carry your iPad (the larger one, or the mini) in the separate compartment or use one of the outer compartments for quicker retrieval. Interestingly, and conveniently, Tumi put a compartment that runs the entire length of the bag on the inside of each handle (there are two, one on each outside where the handles are). They are lined, but not zippered. Also on the outside of the bag, facing front like the picture, are two zippered compartments. These are very much like those found on other Tumi carriers, although, as another reviewer mentioned, they are not very wide and do not intrude into the main compartment much (I, as that other reviewer, would like more room here, even it it intrudes into the main compartment). The top, u-shaped, zippered compartment opens up to another zippered compartment that runs down to the bottom of the bag, as does the u-shaped compartment it is contained in. Nice for doubling up on the secure storing of important items. There is also a key fob in the u-shaped compartment and two open pockets for pens and things. The pocket on the right fits my iPhone 4S with Pong case. It is 3 3/4" wide and does not extent to the bottom of the bag, but contains the iPhone completely as it is 4" deep. It should fit the iPhone 5 as well, since the iPhone 5 is thinner. The left pocket is an inch less in width and does not fit the iPhone 4S unless you squeeze it in. Between them is a pocket for a pen. On the other side of the bag is a "compartment" that is zippered on the top and bottom so you can use this to slide the bag onto your rolling luggage handle -really useful for a bag this size especially if fully loaded. But be careful not to put stuff in there and then open up the bottom zipper. I intend to use this "compartment" only for luggage carry.

I've put a great deal of effort and information in this review as this is an expensive bag and, if you're like me, you like to read Amazon reviews and be totally informed before buying. Even though Amazon has a speedy and reasonable return process, you don't want to use this unnecessarily. Hope you enjoyed this review and will benefit from it. I'm keeping the bag and, as it is Tumi quality, expect to have this for a long, long time. I've used Tumi for decades and have never wore one out in my many travels around the globe.

Bought this tote because I needed something for everyday use besides having a bag I can travel with as well. I take my iPad everywhere with me and there are lots of places I can find to put it in to make it more handy to get to, or to secure it inside the tote when I travel. It is a perfect size for what I need. The material is very strong and durable. I'm sure ill be using this for many years to come. I recommend this bag to men or women!

I bought this because I commute between the U.S. and Ukraine. In the Ukraine, I carry a "man-bag" which is more the custom and much less in my pockets. I bought this to augment my Tumi Alpha Bravo Lemoore Wheeled Backpack. I had tried using more of a briefcase but wanted some a little smaller for my flights. It is harder and harder to put two bags in the overheads in economy class. This works perfect since it fits under the seat nicely even when fully expanded and leaves me a little room for my feet. Fully expanded, it holds quite a bit of stuff and it stores everything that I want inflight in it then some. Compressed, it holds everything that I want to carry around as well.

As a man-bag/purse (compressed), it is a little heavier than my prior levi's bag but it is made of much higher quality materials and is more versatile. Also, I find the pockets for storing my credentials/checkbooks to be flatter than I would have liked and I can barely squeeze in the minimum that I wanted to carry in them. I do wish that Tumi had provided for more than a centimeter in depth of those pockets even if they were to expand back into the main pocket. I would have given 5 stars if the pockets were more to my liking.

However, my two complaints are not stopping me from using and enjoying the bag. It is certainly made to Tumi's high standards and works quite well in conjunction with my Tumi Alpha Bravo Lemoore Wheeled Backpack.

It has been a while since I wrote this review. This bag is still wonderful and traveled with me to the Ukraine and back. Everything worked great. Just wanted to add that I bought a couple of Eagle Creek Travel Gear Pack-It Tube Cube to help me organize my stuff inside. They fit perfectly side by side and make it so that everything is not just on the bottom of the bag.

Tumi Luggage T-Tech Cargo Continental Carry-On

Here's to being the 1st reviewer...I took the plunge for the rest of you ;)

Note: please ensure that you annotate the difference between the International (considerably smaller in comparison) and Continental models for this luggage; if you only travel w/in the US please make sure you purchase the Continental version.

I'll start by stipulating that orange is my favorite color and unlike other orange luggage...this one is a nice manly/handsome shade of orange. I travel roughly twice a month; thus, I only carry-on my luggage on to beat the vendors at their own game + not having to wait for an hour+ for my checked luggage. I can verify that this luggage fits overhead on Delta, Frontier, United, Southwest, and US Airways: caveat being that it must be a larger plane; not the standard smallish connector jet. That said, it has held up very nicely to be curb-side checked. This luggage rolls like a dream and it is so nice to set my briefcase on top and simply/effortlessly roll it along side me through the terminals. I am 6'3" and w/a little ingenuity, have no issue fitting 5 days of business (suit, 5 shirts, 1 set of dress shoes, belt, and undershirt) + a few casual evening clothes + work out attire in this luggage. The compression flap on the right hand side is most helpful for ensuring you get maximum utilization out of available space. Although I stuff it to the brim I have never seen the zippers stressed or acting like they'd come apart. Having the TSA built-in lock is rather nice. Lastly...great little luggage that is well built, handsome, and will turn some heads as you roll on past.

Eddie Bauer "Weekender" Mini Diaper Bag

Although I was initially put off from this bag because it is not feminine or baby-cute (two pluses as far as my husband is concerned, and now as baby is not so new, I agree), I would not carry another bag. I have even come to enjoy the compact, black look that doesn't scream DIAPER BAG. I have noticed it's smaller than many women's purses. I own a larger diaper bag, but I find I very seldom use it, because there are so few places you really need to carry that much stuff. Although this bag is small, I think I can get in quite a bit. People have called this my clown bag, because I can pull out a few diapers, wipes, changing pad, face wipes, pacifier wipes, and three or four toys/books, a snack cup, or skip a toy and take some baby food and eating-out essentials. I put diapers in one interior pouch, and I keep bandaids and small diaper ointment packets and a tiny nose sucker in the other that's intended for bottles. I put a sippy cup in one side pocket (I nursed, so I don't know about carrying bottles), tissue pack and binky in the other, and the large front pocket is for my wallet, keys, phone, lotion, chapstick and whatnot. The thin back pocket was nice for easy access to a burp cloth when the tyke was very little. Now, I tend to shove notes or mail in there when we're running errands. In winter, I carry around a small light blanket, too, but I usually end up tying that around a shoulder strap. I know people who don't feel comfortable leaving the house without the kithen sink, and I initially felt nervous relying on so little, but it caused me to be efficient, and now I can't imagine lugging more around with me. Who needs the shoulder pain? The zipper is awesome very easy to use single-handedly. I love this with my strollers, because it slips nicely over the handle bars and isn't so heavy that it causes the stroller to keel over. Definitely recommend this bag! The only issue I have ever had with it is that my husband dropped it off of the front of the stroller and ran it over, making a small hole where it skidded along the road. For 14 months of daily use, not bad and who on earth really runs over their diaper bag?

My 2 yr old daughter goes to daycare 4 days out of the week, so this bag was used A LOT. We found it a great size for just the essentials (change of clothes, diapers & wipes), a discrete gender neutral look, and the dual zipper top access was a plus.

However, after 2 months of use we found the fabric loop on one side (attached to the bag, not to the strap) was fraying and it eventually separated all together! I thought this might have just been a fluke, but when I look at the other side it's beginning to show the same issues.

I think the problem is that the strap becomes twisted, and the rectangular plastic loop (that connects the strap to the loop of the bag) sits tall instead of wide, continuously pulling the fabric loop in a way it was not intended. A simple straight stitch flush against the rectangular plastic loop would have done wonders, its a shame it wasn't recognized in testing.

I know my husband and myself were not the gentlest with this bag, but that's just a simple design flaw. Parents shouldn't have to "baby" the baby bag.

Now that my boys are getting older I don't need a big bag to carry bottles or anything so I wanted something small enough to carry only the few items I need and this bag does the job! I can fit the items for the boys as well as my wallet and items from my purse so that I don't have to carry a purse and a diaper bag. I also love the adjustable strap so that if my hands are full I can put the bag over my neck/shoulder and it makes it very easy to carry. Great bag!
