SwissGear The SHERPA Laptop Notebook Computer Backpack - Red/Black

My son, who is now in high school, needs a backpack for all his books and stuff. Every year, we would buy one in August and, usually by the end of January or early February, we would have to buy a new one because the first was so beat up. Well, last year my wife and son wanted to get this Swiss Gear backpack and I, being the family cheapskate, was against it because it cost twice as much as the standard generic ones we were buying. I didn't want to spend the extra money just for his "style" and thought this one would also be ruined by mid-year. It was two against one, so dad lost and we purchased the Swiss Gear.

Well, he just started back to school this year and is using his Swiss Gear backpack for a second year. I looked at it the other day and the only discernible defect is the plastic dome on the logo has fallen off. Otherwise, this thing has worn like iron! This is truly a case where spending the extra money actually results in a savings in the long run. I'm just glad they haven't engaged in "I TOLD you so".

The SHERPA pack was a good investment for me. I had purchased another model previous to this, made by SWISS, but the shoulder straps wore out within a week from all the stuff I was carrying around. This pack is definitely a good investment. Its not the largest pack SWISS makes but for everyday commuting, school, it definitely holds a great deal of stuff.I usually carry two laptops, and college books in the pack, plus electronics for everyday life, chargers, cables etc... worth the price!

While in college, I went with the cheapest option possible and paid just under $20. This thing is so much better made. Has lots of room, and distributes weight of a 17" laptop nicely with sturdiness and padding. The material you can tell is tough and will hold up to abuse. Bunch of guys from work have a swiss gear and we all love them. Wish I had gotten mine sooner.
