VISM by NcStar Tactical Back Pack
I ordered this backpack as it was the cheapest available tactical bag that did not get bad reviews. The pics are not so great on the product page, but here are a few things that you do not see on the product page:zippered pouch at top of inside
pocket to slip in a camelback reservoir
feels like material is thick canvas-type material
shoulder straps are a tad thinner than I would have expected, but I have not had any issues thus far
this expands to a pretty sizable pack, you could fit enough to survive in here (not counting a tent) for a few days
I seriously doubt this is waterproof or water resistant by any means, but the material seems thick enough that a light rain or splash of water will not harm the items inside
All in all, I would buy this product again. If this does not hold up well, I will update this review.
The base reason I chose it was price. At $29 if it turned out that this item wouldn't live up to my standards, I could always order a Condor, or 5.11 3 day pack.
Secondly, I chose this bag because I wanted a bag with thick shoulder pads, chest strap, and waist strap that was adjustable. This pack certainly has that. The clasps are the plastic buckle types, but are beefy. The waist strap is 2.5" nylon webbing, while the chest strap is 1.5" nylon webbing.
As a large man (barrel chested 5'10") it some times is difficult to find something that fits my size. This pack, with 25lbs of weight, holds my gear, and even has room for more.
This pack has mole straps, all sorts of outside pockets, and would even allow me to strap on bedrolls, tarps, tents, or whatever I needed too with the side buckle tie downs.
I don't have the experience of time to season this review, but I was honestly surprised more people haven't purchased/reviewed this pack.
If you are budget conscious and looking for a bug out/get home pack, I can't see how you'd go wrong buying this bag. Your mileage may vary of course.

Looked all over the net for a day pack for scouting. This one fit the bill and did not break my wallet. It has already been to Europe for 3 weeks as well as several outings, day and overnight. The North Face Surge II Backpack Coffee Brown
I bought this bag for an overseas trip to Italy. It is an awesome bag. The coffee brown is very stylish. It has great support. The panel between the laptop compartment and back pads has a slightly stiff material that protects and helps to distribute the weight. The quality is excellent and it has tons of compartments to store and organize all of your stuff. Love it!

I ordered this bag after doing lots of research and watching Youtube reviews on various different NorthFace bags. I wanted a bag that had lots of room and lots of storage space.I finally came on the Surge 2. It has ample room with lots of pockets here and there to put all you needs. I do not think I will use the lap top compartment but you can fit some clothes in there.
I got this book at a steal of 83 and 91 total with tax. It was delivered in 24 hours.
If you want a bag that is nice and big and has a lot of compartment space then I would recommend you get this one.

THE NORTH FACE RECON DAY PACK
I've had this backpack since 2005. It served as both my college pack, my hiking daypack, my hunting pack, and I took it on a couple warm-weather overnighters as well. My wife uses it now (she's still in school), and it has nary a tear or mark on it, despite the rather harsh environments it's been in.Things I like:
1) The laptop pouch can hold some really big laptops or a 1-gallon water bladder. There's a hook and opening near the top to allow you to hook a bag on and run a bite valve to it. If you carry a laptop, it can handle nearly anything. I've carried a few small laptops (Dell C640, Toshiba Portege M100, Panasonc CF-73) in there, as well as a few behemoths (Dell C840Dell's three-spindle laptopand an Itronix GoBook III). The Itronix was a bit of a tight fit. Unless you're going to be putting in a 17" laptop, anything else should fit.
2) D-links and attachment points abound. I had plenty of places to hook my water bottle, pocket knife, flashlight, and all the other various goodies I like to keep within easy reach. Good attachments on both back and front.
3) Good sewing. When a pack is stuffed to the gills, it's nice to know that a zipper isn't going to pop. I've had over 50 pounds inside this bag (I was the water mule for a trip) and it handled it fine. Never skips zipper links or bursts a zipper.
4) Lots of pockets that are, for the most part, water proof. Some are obviously student-oriented and have things like pencil loops and the like.
5) Good webbing. Has a hip belt, chest belt, regular two shoulder straps, compression straps, and strap loops on the bottom, allowing you to carry a sleeping bag or tent. Also has two water-bottle pockets on the sides that are webbed. Like I said above, there's always a belt to hook something on. Hip belt is really strong, which is nice for such a small pack, and thick enough to hold the holster for my backcountry pistol, which keeps me from having to keep it stuffed in a fanny pack.
Things I didn't like:
1) Hip belt clasp broke after a relatively minor impact. It's just injection-molded plastic, I know, but they could have gone with a higher grade. At least something more impact-resistant.
2) No extras with the pack. No water bladder, no spare straps for the loops at the bottom. Advertising material said it came with a cell phone holder, but I didn't get anything like that with mine.
Those are arguably very minor complaints. Considering that a regular Jansport goes for $20-$30 and these can be found for $55-$65 and will last far longer, hold more, and protect it better, it's a good investment.

My complaint about this pack is that the shoulder straps are a bit wide and very stiff -no problem if you have a larger frame, but I am fairly small, with narrow shoulders, and I had to return the pack because the straps were so unyielding.Everything else about the design of the pack is excellent, and I haven't yet found a good replacement. I'm hoping that North face will make a women's version available.

I would describe the quality of this notebook sleeve as just okay. On the plus side, I like the color and the outer appearance is quite nice. It's a subtle shade of pink. It zips well and it looks like the zipper will hold up. The case also fits my 15.6 inch Samsung R580 snugly without any room for it to slide around. As other reviewers have noted on Amazon, measure your laptop. Most laptops are not the size they are advertised to be. My 15.6 inch laptop is actually 15.1 inches. As for the negatives, a better case would have a bit more padding. While this sleeve will protect a notebook from water and general wear and tear, nicks and dings etc., I don't think it will protect the laptop from breakage if dropped. It would be nice if it had a strap or even something to attach a strap to. Strangely, it's also sort of a noisy bag. I couldn't quite figure out what the problem was initially but it seems to be something about how the bottom of the bag and the seams are constructed. The bag had a bit of a chemical odor but mild enough that it faded within a few days of airing out. I am guessing it was perhaps related to the waterproof material.

I loved this backpack so much I bought this one only after I had already bought the green one from REI! It is the perfect size for my 7 year old and also perfect as a daypack for an adult. I plan on using this to travel oversees. What I really like about it is that it has a "rucksack" drawstring opening under the clipped hood. You don't have to worry about everything falling out when you open the pack, which is great for my son. Plus it has very handy zippered pockets on top and on the front. It has a chest clip for the straps so I don't have to worry about it slipping of the shoulders. Love this bag!

We bought these for a 7 and 9 year old fir a trip to Europe. They were the perfect size and they are good sturdy packs.This backpack was the perfect size for our 8 yo with a little room to grow. Seems to be of good quality, but haven't used it enough to confirm that.

I can't believe that I got this backpack for the price that I did! It was very cheap, but the backpack isn't! Like most Dickies products, the backpack is very durable and well-made. I bought it for a first grade child and it is the perfect size. It isn't too small and it isn't too big. It fits her well. I fully expect that it will hold up over an entire school year and most likely, even longer. The bottom portion of the backpack is thick, which is nice, because a lot of backpacks tend to tear or rip at the bottom. The zipper is great. It is really smooth and doesn't stick easily. This backpack is definitely worth my money!

Congratulations to all others that got the camo version also for a ridiculously low price!I was a little apprehensive about the camo, it appeared to be a little gaudy in the photo but at the price I figured it was worth it.
Wow, am I glad I ordered the Camo, the colors are much more muted than the picture and are also more coordinated than it appears in the photo. It is no longer pictured but had a lot of greens and browns. In the photo it appeared to have patches of bright yellow that were very gaudy but it turns out the yellows were more of a light brown or dark cream in person.
My only regret is that I didn't order more.

Love the nest diaper bag so far! I am just packing it for the big delivery date but I already know I'm going to love using this for years to come!Pros:

Cons:

-wish the changing mat had it's own lil carrying case instead of having to use one of the tall pockets on the side to hold it
-inner lining does NOT unzip out like other nest bags however it is easily inverted and likely easy to wash and airdry
All in all a beautiful and functional bag that does NOT look like a diaper bag :0)

This pack works really well. It's comfortable and doesn't sway too much while you're walking. It has plenty of space and looks really nice. Well my daughter and I liked it at first, but then she only got to use it for 5 days until the zipper teeth began to break off. Very cheaply made and not worth the money! She had to end up going back to her old backpack since you can't zip this one anymore. I wouldn't reccommend unless they begin to put better zippers in this product.

Dakine Factor Pack
I did a lot of research and bought this backpack on the advice of a friend. I was skeptical about the usefulness of the outer pockets that aren't secured with zippers because I live in a major city but I've found the front pocket is deep and snug enough that it's useful to slip in my work ID and/or keys without worrying about them falling out or someone reaching in. And the mesh side pockets are deep enough to hold my water bottle.The upper lined compartment is really convenient for sunglasses, and I can slip my laptop and even my iPad into the padded lined inner compartment. The best thing is the slim profile of the pack that makes it a bit more stylish than most backpacks and doesn't give that unattractive "turtle" look.
I usually bike to work, sometimes walk, and on rare occasions take the bus and this backpack is great for all ways of commuting. I love it!
P.S. This backpack is in their men's line but I think it's stylish enough for a woman (like me).
What people haven't pointed out, from what I can tell, are the negatives. And there are a few negatives:
1) the zipper is cheap and not covered by a flap, so I imagine it would leak in wet weather and will eventually break;
2) the bottom is not reinforced by rubber or anything so when you try to load the pack on a tile or other slippery floor it slides out from under you and you may have to repeatedly pick it up (conversely, if you load/unload it on dirt or concrete I think it could leak or the fabric might eventually wear through); and
3) the handle is integrated into the backpack straps, so it's hard to grab in a hurry (that's not such a big deal, but it can be annoying when in a hurry).
In short, I love the backpack look, size, and feel, and would buy it again. However, I had higher hopes for the Dakine brand, thinking the pack would last forever and be able to double as a day-pack for hikes or rainy weather. Now that I have it, I don't think it's suited for more than a light commuter backpack.
