Upon receipt, the bag looked nice but quite honestly, was waaaaay too small inside. I was only able to put a 3 ring binder in it with 0 clearance for other items. The fit was extremely snug. The size was proportionate to the kids size but as far as functionality, a big zero. In this day in age, with children bringing home projects, books, endless papersno way would this have serviced our needsplus the lunch bag that was included would by any means fit inside once packed with a lunch. Again, nice look, nice idea but not efficient for school kids.Regarding the size, but I personally consider it a plus. It makes sure they don't overstuff it and hurt their growing young backs. Even now, the end of year, they had everything stuffed in them (all books/homework/extras) to bring home, and it was great! It was no problem to just carry the lunch bags (another plus--the lunch bags are the perfect size!)
I also am hugely thrilled with the eco-friendly aspect--huge plus for me! My kids (3rd grade/girl and 2nd/boy) have used it for three years now, and I am just now replacing it because some of the clasps were broken off (slammed in the car door during carpool, not quality). I considered using them for one more year (the actual backpacks are completely in tact--seams and all, even with all the abuse this age can dish out--and, did I mention, I have a SON!!), but I thought I would get them something new finally. It is very difficult because they still look perfect.
Our nettings have held up this whole time until last part of this year my son hooked one of the pencils on something and ripped it.
I love these bags and will continue to seek out this company. The price is higher than, say Target, Wal-mart, etc., but the quality/chemical-free features are completely worth it.

i intended to give this to my eight year old for christmas to use for school like some people claimed. the size was ok but the material was so thin i doubt it would last more than a couple of months of regular use. i know it was not expensive but the same money buys a decent canvas/cotton messenger bag at the local military store. i am thankful that the return went smooth.Read Best Reviews of Fleurville Kids Messenger Here
My daughter was thrilled to get this backpack as a back-to-school gift in late summer and now half way through second grade, it's served her well so far. It's very well made, attractive, and includes a lunch sack. Bright and cute! It is a little softer than a typical backpack, but that does not detract from usability. My daugher can easily wear it as a backpack or a messenger bag as it was intended. At age 7, she's able to make the quick adjustments herself based on what she wants to carry over one shoulder or over both.
It easily holds a couple of folders, 2 workbooks, lunch (in the provided lunch sack), her mittens, a hat, water bottle, afternoon snack and two elementary-level library books easily. Would not hold say two-three text books with these other items, but could hold just three large texts alone without the rest. My daugher has also stuffed a sweatshirt or cardigan inside during those cooler/warmer days of fall pretty easily (non-mitten/hat-wearing season).
Perfect for a kindergarten to fourth grade student! If a kid needs to carry more than this by age 9, then it's too much as boys and girls this age should not carry more than 15% of their body weight, which is up to 10-11 pounds in most cases.
Would highly recommend to friends and other kids for sure!!

I bought this bag for my son and was slightly reluctant because of the reviews stating the size was too small. It was a great price, so I ordered it anyway. My son started 2nd grade and was happy to take this bag with him. He carries a regular sized folder for all his work and papers and also carries at least 1 small library book with him. It's the perfect size for his standard folder. The quality is great and I think it has a nice appearance. It was fun for us to look up what nations the different flags belonged to. I started it out as the backpack style, but he also likes to carry it messenger style. It's nice that it's versatile.
I think it will definitely hold up to some abuse and make it through the entire school year easily. I'm really happy that I purchased this bag even though I thought it would be too juvenile. It's a pefect fit for my 2nd grader!

Pros:
1. Durable
2. Great laptop compartment
3. Light
4. Fits well on shoulders
Cons:
1. Price (a little on the expensive side)
2. Color (I ordered the blue and black, and the blue is definitely a more navy/dark blue than the one in the picture)
3. Does not have a sternum strap (I think one would add a lot to the bag)
Note: I am 5'8" and the bag fits me well. However, I would not recommend it to anyone much shorter than 5'8" because its a relatively tall backpack.
Overall its a sound replacement to my old backpack. Its a little bit on the expensive side, but I'd recommend the bag. This is a nice backpack for bicycle commuters. The pack is taller than most, but also thinner and less deep. That keeps it from shifting around on your back as you bike. A sternum or waist strap would help even more, so I'm knocking off one star for not including either. I suppose you could buy a sternum strap separately.
Note that this pack is not deep enough to hold a ton of school books, but you probably would not want to bike with that load anyway. I'm average height and on the skinny side and this pack fits me well. If you're a shorter guy or average sized woman, this pack may be too tall for you.
The laptop pocket is nicely padded and has a separate zipper access on the side (a nice feature). The Amazon description says the pack fits 17 inch laptops, but Timbuk2 hang tag advertises 15 inches. I suppose some larger laptops will fit, but some won't.
The U-lock pocket on the side of the pack is a real nice feature. It holds pretty securely, but an extra tie down strap would be nice. The pocket is also deep enough to hold a large bicycle water bottle.
Yes, the MSRP price is extremely high and it is not worth that price. However, since this pack has been discontinued, you should be able to buy it for less than half price, which is reasonable for a high quality pack that you use every day.

I've been a big fan of Timbuk2 bags. I have the medium Classic, and the large-sized Commute 2.0 messenger bags. They both still serve me well to this day. They're rather large for the amount of stuff I carry to work nowadays, so I was looking for something more compact, and the PROOF Backpack is just perfect for that.As with all Timbuk2 bags, this one is well designed from its fit & comfort, to the well laid out compartments, and the overall quality.
The PROOF Backpack is a slightly tall bag, but not so tall that you look like you're about to climb Mt. Everest with it. I'm 5'10", and it fits me just right. When adjusting the shoulder straps to my liking, it sits high on my back, but I don't really mind that.
It's a pretty good looking backpack too. I have the black/gunmetal color, and it's not gaudy or obnoxious, nor is it plain and dull. I can comfortably wear it to the office, without worrying that I look like an overgrown elementary school student.
I love that the PROOF Backpack is very sleek and compact, meaning it doesn't bulge out that much at all. I don't have to worry about bumping into fellow bus/subway commuters behind me while wearing it. That said, don't expect to carry a ton of stuff in this bag.
I usually carry the following items in this backpack:
1) 13" MacBook Air in its neoprene sleeve (the laptop compartment can easily store a 17" laptop)
2) 10" tablet
3) laptop/phone/tablet chargers
4) mouse
5) portable hard drive
6) Xbox 360 controller
7) sunglasses w/ case
8) compact umbrella
9) water bottle on the side
It would be great if the PROOF Backpack had a sternum strap for added stability; but who really goes hiking or climbing with a 17" laptop? Although, this bag is designed for bicycling, so yeah, it would come in handy for that.
Lastly, like most other Timbuk2 bags, the PROOF is a little pricey, but totally worth the price for its overall quality and design. I was very happy to find this on sale on Amazon just recently.

The item is better than itself seen on the pic, the quality seems real good and the color is brighter.Want Timbuk2 Proof Backpack Discount?
quality wise this is a great backpack, and i love the laptop compartment as it is its own separate compartment rather than a pocket. This keeps the laptop flush on your back and more comfy then it moving around inside. also very durable and and great in all weather conditions. very ergonomic tooi give it 3 stars though because it is too tall... when you ride a road bike and get low on the drop bars, when you tilt your head up my helmet hits the top of the pack. no biggie for short rides and probably won't happen on a mountain bike or hybrid where your stance is less bent over, but after a 55 mile ride my neck hurt from the additional pressure i was putting to keep my head up.
i now use this for travelling tho and it is great for that... but for biking i now have something else.

Buy Altego Clear Sleeve for 15.6-Inch Laptops (Platinum) Now
I just got this case today for my new netbook. My netbook is an awesome yellow color (the samsung n150) so I was glad to find a case that let me show this off. I like that its more substantial than the average neoprene sleeve, thus allowing for more protection. However, its small enough to put in a purse or a backpack. Two thumbs up!Read Best Reviews of Altego Clear Sleeve for 15.6-Inch Laptops (Platinum) Here
I bought these for my Dell Inspiron 3521 (15.6 inch) and my Acer Aspire 5253 (15.6 inch) and it fits both like a glove. One of them is my teenage daughter's laptop and I feel that it is very well protected in this case. I am very happy with this purchase!Want Altego Clear Sleeve for 15.6-Inch Laptops (Platinum) Discount?
It's actually an awesome case. Perfect fit for my laptop. Good protection (maybe not so much from zippers) and I get compliments all the time on it, but I open it constantly per class and at home and the zipper around the corners get caught or bend wrong and will no longer zip all the way. So I have no choice but to just slide it in with one of the diagonals open. Not much protection when I put it in my backpack with my other books....disappointed.Angry Birds Large BackPack - Angry Birds School Bag

My kids love it and are so happy with it and have been using it since they received it. Nice size and colors. Hope material is durable for all the year.I was skeptical of the durability of these backpacks due to some other Angry Bird backpacks having low ratings, but 1 month into using this backpack and everything is holding up well. My son really wanted an Angry Birds and this seems to be working out fine. I would recommend this one.

In all, the bag lasted only 2 months of her using it for school. It is a pretty piece but the zippers need fixing. The bag is well assembled of course but something is grossly wrong with the zippers is it because it is machine made? I have no idea but I am done buying the Disney bags. I told her she has to have something American made to last for her current school year. No more Chinese made school bags...

The best part is the open front pouch. I stick food and water in there usually and it works out better than side pouches. Large things can be clipped into the pouch and it's very secure. Long things can stick through the bottom of the pouch. The one thing I didn't like was that the inside wasn't cushioned. But, it's meant to be a waterproof outdoor pack and I'm using it for books and everything. It's a little wider than my last snowboard packs but it fits and feels much better.Perfect size and very well made. Flat profile makes it great for riding the on chair lift when I ski.

The features I most like:
The amount of pockets I will need to carry around 4 water bottles/sipee's/bottles where ever I go for my large family, and most bags won't fit that much. I like the amount it will fit for the size it is I can fit 4 containers of snacks, my 4 water bottles, my wallet, diapers and change of clothes and it still isn't bursting at the seams. For me at 5'11" its very comfortable on my back and I don't feel a need to have padded straps.I like that the main section zips in the center so you can leave it partially open and not sorry about things spilling out. I didn't go with the BFF because the zipper was more in the front instead of the top of the bag. Makes it easier to get what you want when its sitting on the floor too.
Frustrations:
It really needs a top grab handle I'm thinking of using caribiner clips to hold it in backpack form since I rarely use the messenger feature and that way I can just grab the padded top section when I need to chuck it in the car I'll see how this works.
Side bottle holders I wish they were a bit higher since I often am carrying around 2 25oz bottles on the outside and have to make sure I shove them as far down as they'll go.
Other than that, I'm pretty happy with this bag I purchased it in the brown/blue combo (which the brown is much darker than shown here on Amazon) and am pleased. The real test will be to see how long it lasts.

I thought this diaper bag would be the "perfect" one for me.DISLIKES:
No padded straps. If they were padded, this product would have definitely gotten 5 stars.
A bit on the heavy side, and without the padded straps, makes it uncomfortable to wear for a long period of time.
LIKES:
-Able to fit a good amount of items: 5 diapers, costco wipes, emergency tees, blankies, diaper cream, hand sanitizer, a couple toys, burp cloths, paci
--inside the outside pockets: water bottle, car keys/house keys, wallet, lotions

I just started getting into Ju Ju Bes and I bought the Packabe only a few days ago. This brand is by far the most well-made diaper bag I've ever come across. The Packabe has a mommy pocket, that means no need to carry a separate purse. The organization is superb, it has just the right amount of pockets inside to keep small items from getting lost inside the bag. The Packabe does not look that big in real life but it is very spacious inside and can easily hold items for two kids or can be used for overnight outings. The Lush Paisley print is just beautiful. Ju Ju Be has the best prints, none of their prints look generic so when you are carrying a Ju Ju Be, it really stands out!I am very pleased with the craftmanship, look, style, and durability of this bag and would highly recommend it to other moms. The irritating part of having a shoulder strap diaper bag is that when you have a winter jacket on it slides and you have a bag and a baby hanging from your arms. So I thought this would change it. Nope! Still slides!!!

I was a little worried that since the suggested retail price was so much higher than what the seller was asking for this that it would cheap or awkwardly shaped or something. But I worried for no reason! This is a very nice bag and looks more like luggage than a backpack. I had considered investing in a 200 Tumi laptop backpack, but I'm so glad I saved my money.
The pockets are also very nice...lots of hidden pockets and zippers to stash important things There is also a luggage tag tucked away and a removable key fob...perfect for the office keys that don't get used every day. The main pocket has plenty of room for files, a book or two and has a nice padded section for a laptop. Only problem i see so far is that the front pocket, which has a lot of little nooks and crannies, is a little hard to access because it doesn't unzip on the sides. I can imagine I'll "lose" things in there. I love that there is a small pocket on the strap that I could put my iPhone in while I'm at airports and the top zipper compartment is perfect for the things I'll access frequently like my wireless mouse and headphones.
All in all this is a great choice if you're a busy professional or grad student who wants to save their back but doesn't want to carry around a hiking pack!
